february twenty-eight :: 26 months old

Sean is 26 months old today.

I am not going to complain, but he's obsessed with brushing his teeth.

Mack was really chill today, he was really cute about it too. He loves Sean's Thomas the Train Couch. I suppose now it's Mack's too - even though Sean got it for his first birthday. I'm in the middle of working with Sean to share. He likes to take toys away from Mack, that he says are his. Yes, some toys are his, but a lot are for them to share. For the first time ever today, I had to say to Jamie "Can you please separate the boys?" Holy. Never thought in a million years I'd be saying that so soon. And Mack can almost defend himself, even though Sean's double his weight. Though, It wont be long before they're both around the same weight. I give it another year and a bit before they're probably around the same. (Providing that Mack gets out of his little tiny growth curve and hits the 50th percentile, which is where Sean is.

Today was a lazy Saturday. I love lazy Saturdays. I don't get them often, or enough. I didn't even leave the house. Both boys didn't really nap at the same time today, so that gave me lack of personal time today, but I did get to hang out on the couch & knit once the boys went to bed and Jamie went to play hockey tonight. And at one point in the evening I did a huge office/desk clean up because it was very necessary.

I should have some knitting progress to show you during the week - but this weekend I've been working on some designing, so I can't really show you that yet. Soon soon! Though, shortly, I'll be able to show you the February Sock Club pattern, which I designed, and my lovely sister test knit for me. (And can I say that she test knit it in 3 days! I think that's a record for her!!)

I started a book tonight, called Addition by Toni Jordan. So far so good, but I haven't gotten very far into it yet. I want to start reading again in the evenings or before bed. I'd like to try to read atleast 1 if not 2 novels in March. I think I can do it. Do you read? What's your fave book right now? (I'm mainly into Chick Lit/British Chick Lit - have anything to recommend?)

february twenty-seven

This morning I went to go see my nutritionist, and I'm down 13.6 lbs and I've lost almost 20 inches over all, all over my body. I think I've lost a good 3-4 inches off my waist, maybe even more. (I forgot to look at my chart before leaving). It feels great. I'm feeling so much better, and more energetic. I still have some more that I want to lose, but I'm officially back at pre-Mack weight. Now I just need to get back to pre-Sean weight, which I want to get to what I was on my wedding date. That's my goal for now, and it's totally achievable! I know I can do it, I just need to keep my mind to it.

Today we had music with our friends. This is the class that I organized, and it's so much fun. (Unlike the other class that we take mid-week that I can't stand some of the mom's in that class - I don't think I'll be taking that class again next session, but maybe in the fall again, we'll see).

Class was a lot of fun today, but Mack was in a cranky mood before going to music and I had to drive around for a good 45 minutes before class to that he would sleep. There was no point in putting him in his crib when we had 45 minutes until we had to be at music, so I drove for a bit, picked up something from my mother's house, went and sat outside the girl's house where the music is held and worked on a sock that I'm designing. Anything to get a cranky child to nap! He was fine during music, but then upon getting home, he had a bottle and fell back asleep, and he slept pretty much until I woke him up so that we could get him ready to go pick up Sean from daycare.

Mack's super cute in his little Dr. Scholl's Shoes. (They even have Dr. Scholl's insoles in them!) Really! Why? He's not walking, so I have no idea why.

After picking up Sean from daycare (who was a really good boy at daycare today) but who was a monster upon picking him up (he didn't want to put on his boots/jacket/hat, etc... but wanted to run around the daycare - the quick little bugger), we headed to my parents house for dinner. Dinner was nice, it was just my parents, myself & the 2 boys, and we had fish that was prepared in my parents steamer. Oh wow... and it only took 7 minutes to prepare. I usually make my fish in the oven, for 20 minutes (on 400F degrees). I am honestly considering doing it in my steamer, but then how would I prepare my steamed veggies, which I do in the steamer while the fish is baking in the oven? I didn't think this through, so we'll have to see. And I can't make the veggies first, because minutes after the veggies are out of the steamer they start to get cold, and if you wait too long, they don't taste as good as freshly out of the steamer. So we'll see.

What a handful it was tonight to put both boys to bed almost at the same time. Both Mack & Sean go to bed around 8 pm (Mack sometimes earlier if he's a basket case and can't keep his eyes open), but tonight, alone, was a challenge. Jamie went out this evening to watch the Habs game at a friends house. However, tonight, having gone to my parents house for dinner, we were there until just after 8pm, so they went to bed straight from being out, not too much later, but still, later than their usual bedtime.

And now, I'm sitting on the couch, not really sure what to watch on TV, because I'm pretty much all caught up on the shows that I watch without Jamie. I think I'll go back and pick up my knitting, and enjoy some peace & quiet.

february twenty-six

There's been some fun stuff going on around here lately! I want to introduce you to Flock of Feather Sock Yarn! Some of the colorways are listed in stock! Right now for my Spring Break sale, it's 20% off!

Though, while having fun, I had to keep these two colorways for myself. I'll let you know if more is made and will go into the shop:

Flock of Feather Sock in Ballet Slippers

Flock of Feather Sock Yarn in Blueberry Yogurt

Today was a quiet day at home, though at times, Mack was really cranky. I am really hoping that he's just cutting a tooth and it's nothing more than that at all. I did however get a lot of work done, since Sean went back to daycare today after 3 days (plus last weekend) off. It was indeed a little hard to get him into daycare this morning, but he was okay by the time I left.

This evening was a chill night, and Jamie & I watched some TV after the boys went to bed. It seems like all we've been doing lately is watching tv and chilling on the couch (me knitting while doing so). You know what, routine is good and comfortable.

Mack is now full on crawling. He can get anywhere he wants, though, he still needs to perfect his crawl. I honestly think it'll be a matter of time before he's walking. I say this because I can see it in his eyes that he just wants to keep up with Sean. (Follow him around/etc). He looks at his brother in such awe.... that I hope they become close as time passes.

Around Sean we have to watch what we say, because it's repeating everything. And he's super super super smart. He remembers things from like weeks ago, and reminds you that you told him this, or you said that.... he remembers where he hides things, and well, that could be good and it could be bad! I'm not sure yet!

The March Sock Club sold out, but there are still spots available in the April & May sock clubs as well as other options available for more lengthier subscriptions.

february twenty-five

Kept Sean home again today. Still with that dang runny nose. So that meant that Mack did not go to his music class this morning nor we go to my aqua stroller class this morning. We did however go to the mall with my mother. I wanted to return something to a store, and also I had a pair of earrings that I bought just before Xmas that broke. I just wanted to exchange them for another pair, since I absolutely loved them, but they no longer had any in stock, so I got my money back - which is fine by me! And of course, my luck, after cutting off the tags on Mack's 30$ Gap jeans, I find today two pairs of jeans, 6-12 month size for 4.49$ each. (Though upon trying them on him today, he needs to gain weight before he can wear them as they fall right off him as he has no waist).

We had lunch at the mall, and then looked/walked around a bit more before heading back so that the boys could go home to take their naps. Naps are very important for Sean, or he doesn't function. Of course he fell asleep in the car on the way home and was hard to transfer to his bed, as he woke up a tad and was really cranky. Oh what fun!

This evening I went out with the West Island Knits group and we had a lot of fun. At first I was doing some work on my laptop since we can get free wifi on the computer there and then I worked a bit on a design I'm working on. We had good conversation and because of that, the time always passes by so quickly I find.

New in the shop I have Fiddlesticks EcoKnit 100% Organic Cotton. It comes in 4 different natural colorways. It's so nice to touch, which is surprising to me, because I usually find cotton too rough for my sensitive skin - but this stuff is awesome. My mother has already claimed a Cowl in the this yarn, since she's allergic to wool (and I refused to knit with acrylic! I'm a yarn snob, I admit it). So if you're looking for some cotton - or better yet, some organic cotton, this stuff is awesome.

Don't forget you have until the weekend to sign up for your March Sock Club kit - which I'm featuring a Montreal Handpainter - very excited about that! So get your kit while it's still available! April & May's club kits are already listed as well!

february twenty-four :: 36 weeks old

Mack is 36 weeks old today.

Since Sean was still with a bit of a runny nose today, I kept him home from daycare again today, so I didn't get to go to Mack's swimming class this morning, which is fine because I probably would have skipped it anyhow, I wasn't in the mood to go to that class today. Today, the thought of going into the pool for 30 minutes and the work around getting Mack ready and then changed at the end, just didn't appeal to me.

Late morning I had Melanie & Ariella over for a while. Melanie's got the cutest little belly bump ever. She's due the week of Mack's 1st birthday (around). I am very excited for her, she's also having a little boy. Little boys rock!

Ariella came with her daughter Naomi, who is 6 months older than Sean. They were so cute playing together. It's also amazing to see the difference that 6 months of age can bring, also the differences between girls and boys.

Melanie stayed for lunch, I made some pesto pasta. I heart pesto pasta. I don't get to eat it often, as Jamie's not a big fan of it, so if he's home for dinner, I'm usually eating something he can eat too. But I picked up a huge jar of pesto on Saturday at Costco and I'm just loving it!!

I was supposed to go to the Habs game tonight with my sister, though I wasn't feeling too hot this afternoon/evening, so I stayed in. Apparently (by watching) I missed a very good game. Darn! We beat Vancouver and it was a great game to watch. Oh well... I still have tickets in March, so that will be fun.

Ruby sent me over to her blog for this, so I am going to do the same.

Be first 5 people to respond to this that you want to participate in this, and you will get something made by me, my choice of what I make for you, this offer does have some restrictions and limitations. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make for you, but what I create will be just for you. It'll be done in the next 12 months and I reserve the right to do something unusual. The catch? You have to put this on your blog and do the same thing. (Please leave your email address if I don't have it already).

february twenty-three

I kept Sean home from daycare today as he had a tad little bit of a runny nose. This morning I had my mother come over to watch both boys so that I could run out and pick up a few things that I needed for playgroup today since it was chez nous today. I'm so grateful that my parents live just 5 streets away from us.

Mr. Mack was so happy to have his friends over today.

Mack was super happy that his friends were here too, especially his best friend Jordan. I love this photo of Jordan & his mommy.

Playgroup went super well today. It was nice to have 8 of the 12 moms with their babies over. I baked blueberry muffins & chocolate chips cookies (both of which I cannot eat on my current eating plan, but that's okay) and put out whole wheat pretzels, two flavors of chips and veggies & dip for everyone to eat. I had drinks too. Each week whomever hosts always has food out on the table. I was going to make a pasta salad but forgot to pick up the ingredients while at the grocery store this morning. Oh well, next time.

One of the moms in our playgroup is a registered nurse. I had her look at what I thought was eczema on Mack's legs. It is. So, she said it is not a big deal if I wait until I go to the doctor next week with Mack, so I'll see if I can get a script for something (maybe some cream) for him then. It's so rough and I'm just hoping it doesn't bother him. Doesn't seem to be bothering him though, so that's good. He doesn't scratch or even touch it. Maybe he doesn't even know it's there? It's also around one elbow on one of his arms. I noticed that one last week while in the pool at one of our classes.

My little artist. Maybe since Sean's more into sports now, Mack might end up being my little creative genius! I wonder if he'll be right handed or if that's just fluke which hand it was in. I'm right-handed, but both my husband and my brother are left-handed (so is my mother's brother, Jenn's dad). So left handedness does run in the family. He was so cute drawing on the doodle board. (Not as if he really knew what he was doing though).

And Mr. Mack decided to start doing Yoga today. A little "downward dog" anyone? He has figured out how to get into this position, I think it will be a matter of time now before he's full on crawling. (By the end of the week maybe?)

Tonight was a relaxing evening, I got some knitting done and we watched Chuck and then Heroes. We'll save 24 for another night. Our days are sooo filled these days, that I enjoy just hanging out with my husband on the couch at night. I am so pooped at the end of the day these days, after running around all day going to this class doing that errand, grocery shopping, laundry, this chore, that to do item.... by the time the kids are fed, bathed and in bed..... I'm just done for the evening. Forget about getting onto the treadmill even. I have to start getting on that in the morning or afternoon. There is no way in the evening I have anywhere near something that is supposed to be called energy to get onto the treadmill... no way. Not happening in the evenings.

february twenty-two :: 112 weeks old

Sean is 112 weeks old today.

Today Mack figure out how to climb up something to pull himself up. He's standing on an angle in the position. I swear, it's only a matter of days now as to when he'll figure out to crawl. Either that, or he'll just go straight to walking, instead, to keep up with his brother. Who knows.

But as you can see, he's very proud of himself. Which I think iss too cute. He has been trying all day today to pull himself up onto everything in sight.

Sundays are generally lazy day around here. Today we lowered Mack's crib. It was about time. We just had to. Especially now that he has figure out how to lift himself up.

Tonight we had family dinner and we went a little later than usual, as I kinda let Sean's nap go later than usual today (he went down for his nap kinda late). On the weekends we've kind of been a little slack with the time Sean goes down for his nap, and we probably should get back onto schedule with his naps, at a reasonable time. I also don't want it to affect his weekday napping at daycare.

I cast on a new square on my blanket project. I really should be working on other projects, like a design I'm working on, or my step-mother-in-law's vest, or to finish Mack's Moss Block Cardigan.

There's just a few days left to pick yourself up a March Sock Club Kit. I'm featuring a Montreal handpainter, so act quick. I just have to say that the yarn is absolutely delicious.

february twenty-one

Jamie and I are nuts and do the Costco thing on Saturday mornings. If we go before noon, it's not so bad. Yes, there are crazies who don't know how to drive their shopping carts, but we usually find decent parking and end up in the fastest checkout lines. Today we picked up this gorgeous new scale. I love it. It reads in .2 increments and is way more accurate than our old scale that would give three different readings each three times in a row you'd get on it. Lifetime warranty my arse! I'm going to bring this scale with me to the nutritonist the next time I go and see how it compares.

This week I've managed to knock off 2 more squares on my blanket. Since I'm using 2.0mm needles (US0), each square takes me about 2 hours to knit. The three squares I did this week are the green/orange/blue one on the left hand side, the purple/pink/grey one in the middle and above that one, the pink & black & white one. I am loving this project, too bad it takes forever!

I also decided that I was sick of my ugly keychain. Time to give it a bit of an uplift. My habs hockey puck no longer sported our logo, and there was keyrings on there that had nothing on it anymore.

I'd been getting new keychains lately, so I finally sat down and gave it an uplift. I got a new habs logo, added a Needle Gauge pendant, kept some of the old stuff, and got an "r" initial. I love it, and it looks nice and clean on ONE ring. And the one big ring is this flexible wire material stuff, which is great. I just hope it's not that heavy. I guess I will find out soon!

This evening I kind of just vegged out on the couch all evening. I got a bit of knitting done, as well as some beading for stitch markers. Jamie played hooky from hockey tonight (he plays for fun) and we caught up on the end of season 1 of Damages. Now we must catch up on Season 2. Eventually we'll get there!

Hoping the weather isn't so bad tomorrow, it's supposed to be mild. I'd love to take Sean skating at the park down the street from us. Though, only if it's warm enough. I don't want anyone to get sick and we'd all have to go. Mack would have to sit on the side with one of us, or something. But I got Sean skates (cheese cutters), he got them as a holiday gift, and he hasn't used them yet. I guess we'll have to see how the weather is tomorrow.

february twenty

I had a super long morning this morning Sean was in a terrible two mood and was out of control with his temper. He didn't want to listen/obey and was dumping out drawers in my bedroom, in the kitchen and dumped out the toys in his bins in the playroom. It took us 2 hours to get out of the door so that I could bring Sean to daycare. I couldn't keep him home today as Mack had a music class this afternoon that I was not bringing Sean to.

After dropping off Sean at daycare I ran over to my nutritionist, and this week I'm down 2 lbs, which brings me to a total of 11.4 lbs lost. Fridays she does my measurements and this week I lost 6.5 inches over all (she measures my neck, my shoulders, my bust line, my ribs (under my underwire), 2 fingers above my belly button, 2 fingers below my belly button, my waist, my hips, my thigh, my calf, my ankle, my arm.... I'm probably forgetting something). In total that brings me to 16.7 inches lost over all. (I think it's something ike 3-4 inches off my waist so far!) I'm very happy with my progress!! It's super freakin' hard, but if I don't lose the baby weight now, I'm toast. This weight loss so far has brought me back to pre-Mack weight. I just now need to get to pre-Sean weight. I know I can do it. I just need to stay motivated to do so. And by going to the nutritionist 3 times per week (Monday-Wednesday-Fridays usually), I have that kick in the arse to stay motivated and all that jazz...

Right after lunch Mack had his music class with his friends. Today we were only 3 of us though. One mom & baby won't be able to come anymore, 1 was at home with her sick older one, so she couldn't come with her daughter and another had a luncheon with her in-law for something business related, so there was just 3 of us. There will be more girls joining us in March once they're back from holiday with their babies. I believe there is 3 of 4 other moms. It'll be fun once it's a nice size group.

Mack thought his friend Dylan's shoe was yummy. That shoe made the rounds of being chewed on. (Gross!) Babies! LOL. They'll put anything in their mouth.

The 3 boys at music today. We had fun regardless the few of us.

Mack settled on a maraca today. He's majorly teething, so I apologized to the music teacher for the drool on it afterwards. Though, he did play with it in the way you're supposed to - and found it amusing that it made noise when he shook it. I'll have to fix the maracas that we have at home (Sean broke one of the two we have from a set).

After music I headed to the mall. I was looking for jeans for Mack. I ended up getting him some at Gap, though only because I had a gift certificate. The pants were 26.50$ for 6-12 months size. Holy Crap! There was another style on liquidation, though they only had 0-3 and 3-6 month size. While the waist on the 3-6 months size is perfect for him, the length is way too short. I ended up finding a pair of pants that I was in love with for myself, however I couldn't justify the 59.99$ price tag. After Gap I went to Old Navy and ended up finding FOUR pairs of pants for less than the price of the ONE at Gap.

After doing that bit of shopping Mack fell asleep in the stroller, so I was a tad hungry so I headed for the food court. I came across Chop Crazy, where you make your own salad. I'd never eaten there before, but it was freakin' delicious. I'd definitely have their food again if I was in the mall for a meal. I was very impressed.

It was really nice to walk around the mall and have no one holding me back from going into a store or slowing me down. I went at my own pace and really enjoying just being there with Mack. I walked the entire mall from one end to the other, enjoying the walk. I should do that more often. (Though window shopping can be bad!!)

I ran to Reno Depot afterwards as I had broken my drill bit last night and needed a new one. Jamie didn't have anymore on the tool bench in the garage, so I had to get a new one. I get so lost in hardware stores, but managed to find what I needed and get out pretty quickly today.

I decided to stroll around the grocery store before picking up Sean from daycare to figure out dinner. I ended up picking up veggies to steam (broccoli & green beans) as well as Tilapia for our meal. I enjoy walking around the fresh fish/meat section and pick up whatever looks good to prepare for dinner. Sometimes I plan dinner in advance, and other times I just go with what looks good.

Today Sean had a very good day at daycare. We've been waking him up at 7 am sharp for the last 3 mornings and it's working like a charm to get him to nap at daycare when it's actually nap time, and not for him to only fall asleep an hour before nap time is over. So we'll be sticking with this 7 am wakeup from now on. I don't care that he'll only be getting 11 hours of sleep instead of 12 hours as long as he naps in the afternoons properly. What I'm wondering is if 12 hours of sleep was too long at night, and that's why he wasn't napping at daycare properly. Well, the past 3 days this works, so we'll stick to what works thank you!

Tonight was a chill night, so I got some knitting on the couch done. We caught up on some Lost & Damages once the kidlets went to bed. Just a quiet evening chez nous - much needed.

So I got an email this morning from Toys R Us stating:

"Thank you for your recent order submission at Toys "R" Us.ca! We appreciate your shopping with us and will work to ensure that this is a great online shopping experience and you are completely satisfied with your purchase.

Unfortunately one of the items that you have purchased has been placed on backorder and we would like to confirm that:

- Once the above items are in, we will ship them to you as soon as possible.

- You will not be charged for this item until it is shipped."

You know what? That's fine. I wasn't planning on putting Mackie in it for a while anyhow, so if we don't get it for another month or two, then that's okay with me. I think though, that I'll call the 1-800 number and see if they have a rough idea of when I might get it. Because yes, they won't charge my credit card, but they did use up a gift card. So if it never comes into stock, I'd like that back.

This afternoon I went out to see if I could find Mack some 6-12 month size jeans. I didn't but did find a good deal on two pairs of 12 month jeans. I have to check what I have from Sean, and worse case, I can return the ones I picked up today. I also got some other shirts for Mack, there's always really good deals at Zellers. I got him one shirt, which says (in French) "Who needs Santa Claus when I have my grandmother". Thought it was cute. I'm going to save it for Sunday when we go to my parents house for dinner. I thought it was cute.

Tonight for dinner I just wiped up a simple pasta with tomato sauce. I wasn't in the mood to do anything more fancier than that tonight, and I'm pretty impressed with what I was able to wip together in no time. All you really need is pasta, and a can of crushed or diced tomatoes, and any spice/herb you want to add to the sauce for flavor. I just basically worked with what I had. I also steamed broccoli, and I chopped it up really thin and put it into the sauce. Added a nice touch.

Tonight was just a chill night with Jamie. We watched Survivor and an episode of Damages. We're getting there, so close to being done Season 1. I got a bit of knitting done, as well, I started doing an inventory of my scrabble letters. I started a spreadsheet with every letter and how many I have of each. This way, I have it on hand the amount I have per letter for when people order the earrings I sell. They've been selling like hot cakes, and I absolutely enjoy making them. It's quite a job doing inventory on them, but it's something I wanted to get done.

I recently purchased this earring holder. I know I have 2 others (the clear cases) but saw this one and had to have it. Also, I had a lot of new earrings that didn't fit into the clear cases. The clear cases aren't full, but I don't want to over crowd them.

So I loaded it up with my earrings.

And my fave newly acquired earrings, (that I ordered when I ordered bracelets from her), is these needle earrings. My only disappointment, is the "vintage" pink ones, the pink end is rusted. Doesn't look so nice. I'm going to see if maybe CLR will get the rust out. I will pull out the bottle of CLR this weekend or when I get the chance and try it out. I don't know why I didn't think of that before. The idea just came to me now. Anyhow, regardless of the flaw on the jewelry I bought, her stuff is gorgeous!

february eighteen

This morning Mack had his music class at the Y. The first half an hour is play time in the gym.

Mackie brought his brother and Auntie today to his class. Mack's teacher was asking about Sean, who used to take her class last year.

Sean had a field day playing with bubbles. His fave part. He remembered it from when he took this type of class with the same teacher when he was 13 - 18 months old.

The second half of the class was music. I snagged both fun hats for the boys to wear. I just needed a picture with them in them. Too cute. Too bad it's SUPER hard to get Sean to look at the camera these days. That's quite the challenge, let me tell you.

After going to music class I ran first to drop off Sean at daycare. Then to the nutritionist. I'm officially down 11.4 lbs as of today. Getting there! (Feeling great!) After I ran to my aqua strollers class, which was a great work out today. Then, I ran to pick up my sister as we took Mack to the Mom & Baby movie this week, which was Confessions of a Shopaholic. Just what the doctor ordered - a chick flick. I loved it. Though, since it incorporated books 1, 2 & 3, and I'd only read books 1 & 2... there were a few things that I was unsure about, but still got the jist of what I'd missed by not (yet) reading book 3. We also met at the theater my cousin Jenn, my Aunt, and little baby Henri. He's about 6 weeks old now (tomorrow).

This evening I had Knit Night with the West Island Knits. We were a big group tonight (well, large for us that is) and in attendance it was Madeleine, Ariella, Julie, Amy, Christine, and myself. I worked on a full square for my blanket, and we had nice conversation. Great conversation is always welcome!

I finally got Jamie to hang the Habs painting above the couch. I love it there. A great addition to our den. Sean loves it. He now knows what a goalie looks like, and points to it and says "Goalie"... or even calls the goalie by his name! Too cute.

I just bought this car seat for Mack. Such a good deal. Regular price is 139.99. On sale for 89.97. I had an 80$ gift card, and with taxes and 9.99 shipping, I ended up only paying 33$ and some change. Not bad! It is almost similar to Sean's car seat. Mack is still in his bucket, for now, and this is a 2-in-1 (Car Seat & Booster) not a 3-in-1 (3-in-1's can go rear facing, which they are to be until around 1 year old), so Mack will be in his bucket until he's too big for it/near 1 year of age. Though, once the spring arrives and Mack's no longer in layers, it'll probably be easier to have him in it.

february seventeen :: 8 months old/ 35 weeks old

Mack is 8 months old today, which happens to also be his 35th week today as well.

In the 8th month, your child should be able to...
- Bear some weight on legs when held upright (CHECK)
- Feed self a cracker (He ate a Mum Cookie so CHECK)
- Pass a cube or other object from one hand to the other (CHECK)
- Rake a raisin and pick it up in fist (I've seen them go after Sean's Goldfish crumbs, so CHECK)
- Turn in the direction of a voice (CHECK)
- Look for a dropped object (CHECK)

He still fits perfectly in the sink. Though, he's almost figured out how to turn on the tap... so to avoid that mess, I won't be putting him in there again!

I received my copy of HandKnit Heroes in the mail today. I really ordered it for the POW pattern in it, it's the only place right now that pattern is available. (Though, it's probably a pattern I could have figured out on my own, looking at it), but I also wanted to check out the comic. I've never really been into comics (unless you count Archie). I'll let you know how this one is. (Whenever it is that I find the time to read it).

In knitting news, there has been progress on my step-mother-in-law's vest. In due time. I don't really have a deadline to finish it, so I'm slowly working on it. (Though, I should get my arse moving on Mack's Moss Block Cardigan, or he won't fit into it.... Oops.)

I have been working on the Blanket Project. I switched over to circulars though, the 2.0mm ones I sell in my shop, and I absolutely LOVE them. They're so super smooth, and great to use. I really do recommend them if you haven't check them out yet.

Yesterday when I was at the post office, this lady saw the amount of parcels that I was mailing and started asking me questions. She first asked if I sold on ebay, I told her no. She then asked me what I sold online, and I told her yarn and knitting accessories. She took it that I sold knitted items, and asked me what items I knit that I sold. I kept telling her that I sold knitting items, and she kept asking me if I'd make her cozies for her tables & chair feet so they wouldn't scratch her floor and if I'd knit her dishcloths. Anyhow, she even told me she'd pay me, but I honestly don't have the time to do so. Then she asked me about my website, and how I built it. She asked me if she paid me, could I design one for her. I told her I didn't do the shopping cart myself for my site, I'm not a web programmer, but I bought a shopping cart software and it's super easy to use. She told me she sold furniture and wanted to sell it online (I kept thinking in my head, good luck with getting people to pay for shipping on furniture!) Anyhow, she asked if she had any questions about the shopping cart software (I gave her the site I bought it from) if she could call me. Without thinking, I said sure, no problem. I gave her my cell number. (Today I'm glad I didn't have any more business cards left on me, so she doesn't know who I am).

Because, today, she called me 13 times, and left me 3 messages. All times, her number showed up as Restricted. Though, she left me those 3 messages, with her name & phone number, to call her back. In the 2nd and 3rd message she said I didn't call her back, so to please call her.

Oh my...

She saw that I had a baby with me at the post office yesterday (I had Mack with me) and didn't she think that maybe I was busy?? And that I'd call her back when I had the chance to? I got her first message... and now that she called that many times and has left that many messages, I don't think I'll be calling her back. Sounds a little coocoo to me...

Tonight was just a chill night at home, catching up on Chuck and Damages with Jamie, while knitting on the couch. Ah, a nice relaxing evening once the kids went to bed!

february sixteen

This morning Mack had his 5 Senses class, and it was an alright class today. I still find the moms in that class to not be my type of people, so I'm kind of just doing my own thing in that class. Though Mack seems to like the babies around his age in this class. Nikki above with Mack is 10 days younger than him.

This morning while Mack slept in his bucket, I ran to the nuitritionist, and I'm now officially down 10.4 lbs. That first goal of 10 lbs. Wow. Feels great. This eating properly thing really does work! I also got a few other errands done before we headed to playgroup, which was actually for one of Mack's friends first birthdays.

Mack was all ready to party today. He had his party hat (princess of course, since it was a girl's birthday!) and his party blower! (Which he chewed on so much it was soggy cardboard when I took it away from him).

Mack chillin' with his friends.

All the kids that came today for the birthday party. (The birthday girl is the only one sitting with her back to us... she refused to turn around!)

Mack got sat on by 2 of the girls today. I happened to catch this one on camera. I'm not sure what it was, but the girls decided to plop themselves backwards on Mack, and sit on his lap. It was too cute.

The birthday girl. Her first birthday is actually on Sunday upcoming.
I just love this shot I took of her.

Today I received some yarn in the mail as a payment for that sock I knit a few months ago.

First up is some Beyond Basic Self-Striping Yarn in Girl Interrupted.

And I also ordered some Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Sock in Columbus Circle.

Both skeins will go into my stash for now, to age for a bit. (Sounds like a wine collection, I swear!) I have no idea what will be in the future for these 2 skeins, but surely enough, I'll find some project for them.

Tonight was a chill night on the couch with some knitting. Monday nights have a great line up of TV shows and we managed to watch Heroes and 24 tonight. Though, other stuff (like Chuck and Big Bang Theory get recorded and we get to them later on in the week, as Heroes & 24 are on the top of the TV watching list.
