december eight

This morning I was planning to leave on time to get my car to Acura. I was meeting my brother, who had to get to work (though he works for my father so that's not the issue) so that he could bring my back to my parents house so that I could take my mother's car since she's not using it this week. Did that happen on time? Nope. I dressed Sean in his winter jacket, got Mack in the bucket. I smelled something funky. Sean pooped. So I change Sean. When I got downstairs and redressed Sean, I smell something funky again. Mack pooped. Took Mack out of th bucket. I change Mack. Got Mack back in the bucket. Sean had by then started undressing himself. Man... if anyone know the secret to leaving the house with more than just 1 kid - please do share the secret - I'd love to know.

The mailman brought some delicious mail today. I discovered a new dyer on Etsy via Ravelry. I'm always looking for new dyers for my sock club. Of course I need to see goods in my hand before ordering from a dyer, so I ordered 2 skeins for myself. I'm not complaining! This dyer is called Kitchen Sink Dyeworks (Ravelry Link - Etsy Link) and it's just lovely. I thinks she's new though, there's not much stashed from her on Ravelry - Just my yarn and one skein that she stashed. She's gotta get started somewhere, right?

This is the August 2008 Woolgirl Sock Club yarn, by Madelinetosh in Beach Towel. Not so sure I like it as much in person thatn seeing it online, (the colors are just not me), though, Madelinetosh yarn itself is delicious. I may just have to get my hands on some of her other colorways.

This afternoon I didn't go to Mack's playgroup, I just had too much work to do. I got a lot accomplished, so I'm super happy about that.

I started Mack about a week ago on Cereal. He started on regular Rice Cereal, the first step. He wasn't too much of a fan of it. Then 3 days later we tried Oatmeal. He likes Oatmeal better than the rice cereal though not really a fan of it. Maybe it's the texture he doesn't like. I'm thinking about skipping Barley and just going straight to Sweet Potatoes. I'll pick up some jars tomorrow. Sean wasn't a fan of cereal either, and didn't eat too much of that either, liked the real food items better. I did try the cereals with Mack though, so he did get to try it. Maybe it's not for everyone. I'll see how he likes Sweet Potato tomorrow.

This evening we just stayed in and watched Chuck & Heroes on the couch and I got a lot of knitting done. (Secret project for now - can't post any photos). But if you came here for some knitting stuff - check this out below:

This is from yesterday's paper. I love it when there is knitting comics in the paper. Click on the image above to enlarge the photo for a better view. Too funny....

July 18 of 31

Today Sean had his (belated) 6 month check-up. He is still in the 50th percentile, now weighing 18 lbs and 2.5 oz. Wow! Didn't think he was already 18 lbs! I had guessed somewhere between 16 and a half and 17 and a half pounds! Boy was I wrong. Sean wanted to eat everything in sight, (like the paper his doctor pulled down over the doctor's check-up table) and the pad she put down on the scale to weigh him. Now that he has to sit up on the scale, there was things on the table behind the scale, and he tried to grab everything. The little bugger! She suggested now we can start chicken and turkey puree, as well as more fruits (so I picked up creamed corn, sweet potato with turkey (since he already likes sweet potato) and also blueberries). This evening he tried blueberries for the first time, and loved them! He ate the entire jar up in one sitting. He was making Mmmmm noises throughout the entire jar. Mikey liked it!

This morning I got my Piddleee order in the mail. I am loving the tape measure handle.

She attached a sample from Zero, one of Piddleloop's other stitch marker sample suppliers (like me!) However, she wasn't going to send me my own samples, so I got to sample other people's stuff! So awesome.

The above sock knitting pouch (my jaywalkers are already in it), came with this little pouch.

And I also purchased this DPN wallet. I am just loving the fabric (having a Graphic Design background, I love numbers! Especially in black and white)

She also sent me some other samples of stitch markers, as well as some buttons! I am loving these! It's really cool to get samples from other people, that I would have otherwise not ever seen their stuff.

She also sent me some gift tags (knitting!) and some matching notecards. I can't wait to have an excuse to use them! What is unfortunate is that Canada post opened my envelope, so I don't know if there was anything missing (Jenn?). They re-sealed it with yellow packing tape, that said Canada Customs on it. And even though the envelope was marked GIFT, I was charged Duty/Customs on it. (What's with my luck and customs lately?) Anyhow, since it was actually marked GIFT, I disputed it, (though I had to pay it first) and mailed it off yesterday to the Customs Center (which is like 10 minutes from my house in Ville-St-Laurent). Hopefully I will be able to get my $11.72 back. Bastards.

Today, I also received mail from Laura, whom I'd requested some of these above stitch markers from. Aren't they just AWESOME?? I love them! I can't wait to put them onto a project!
She also sent me these awesome stitch markers as well. I know for a fact that I have more stitch markers right now, than I'll ever know what to do with, but I don't care!! I'll still be making more and swapping again for more. I'm addicted.

Laura even was awesome enough to send Sean a "bad ass" outfit because he has a "bad ass knitter mom".... Thanks Laura!

She also sent these awesome beads, hmmm, I think I see stitch markers in their future.

I also decided to finish sewing in the ends of Calorimetry today, and add on the button. I have one more of the same button, for the other Calorimetry I plan on making with the Berocco Love It that I exchanged with Kadi.

Here is my model of the Calorimetry. I was having a bad hair day, so excuse the photo! I need to take a photo like the pattern has it... I love it! I'll wait for a better hair day. By the way, the necklace in the photo, is my FAVE necklace ever. I wear it all the time. I try to make sure that my outfits always match it!

Tonight I went to my local Montreal Knits Meetup (SNB). I worked a bit on my FIL's Irish Hiking Scarf, as well as my Jaywalkers. After doing a bunch of rows, this (above) happened. WHAT THE F??!! This has never happened to me before. I'm hoping tomorrow I can exchange them for a new set. I'm going to be in the area where the LYS where I bought them, so I'm going to stop by and see what they can do for me. What a piss off!!! Thank goodness I had other projects with me, because otherwise, actually, I could have knit them on 4 Dpn's instead of 5... so it wouldn't have been a huge problem, I just know the pattern on 4 Dpn's for the pattern row... (Knit 1 front & back, knit 8, double decrease, knit 8, knit 1 front & back....) that works out on the 21 stitches per needle. Otherwise, I'd have to figure out how to place them on my needles! I then worked a bit on my Chevron Scarf, while chatting with some new people and some familiar faces. And I wanted to see Angela before she left for two week to go back home (Newfoundland).

ps- Happy Birthday Sherrie!

28 Weeks

My 28 week self portrait image with Sean will come tomorrow. It was too hot today to do anything, I feel icky and I'm not in a good mood.

The work upstairs it thankfully done. My ceiling in my bathroom no longer looks like this above photo. It's been put back, but it needs to be sanded and plastered and painted. The washer now has proper pipes, the washer now empties the water properly, and the pipes are all new. The dryer was done a while ago, but that vents outside now. Here is the before and after for the washing machine pipes & drainage:

This was before, in the corner of the laundry closet. The idiot who she hired to do the job, used a sink faucet pipe (silver piece) for the washing machine, and and outdoor hose nozzle (gold piece). He also has the drainage for the water from the machine (black pipe) right near the electrical outlet. MORON!

This is how it should be set up. Hot and Cold (red and blue) pipes, brought right to where it's supposed to be installed, running proper copper pipes, along the wall. (Don't even get me started on what he did do - I already vented about that earlier this week, what a mess that was to fix! I'm talking about the pipes in the wall... he was a moron to the max!) (Ignore the black tube from the cold (blue) pipe into the (black) drainage pipe. We were testing the water draining by running the water. And ignore the mess on the floor, that's been since cleaned up. Now, all I have left to do before my new tenants move in, is re-grout (and de-mould a bit) the bathroom tiles. (I'm also re-grouting my bathroom, but I'm doing it slowly, I'm in no rush!)

I will not be able to get all the money back that we've spent, after being stubborn and thinking I could get my ex-tenant (the biatch) to pay for everything, Jamie sat me down and explained things to me, and I was being stubborn before, but now I realize that I will not be able to get all the money back, but we will definitely be taking her to the rental board. I will be filing my report next week.

Today I did manage to get out of the house for about an hour. I went to Walmart to buy a few things, and do a return. I picked up dinner. I went to the post office to mail a reply card to a wedding we're not attending, and mail out the wedding present as well to the bride & groom to be. It's unfortunate that I cannot make it to the wedding, but it's out of town, Jamie cannot take off the Monday from work (it's a Sunday night Jewish Wedding) and I cannot drive with Sean alone (6 hour drive) by myself. I had Sean crying for about 3 hours (from Kingston, Ontario to Montreal) the last time I went to Toronto (June) and I had my mother-in-law in the car to help. This is not something I'll do alone. I cannot even entertain the idea.

Anyhow, I think it's the combination of not having water for the most part of today (while the work was being finished) and all that jazz, and the extreme humidity that was today, I'm just not in a good mood. Plus, I'm almost about to PMS - so I feel that coming on too. I think I'm going to go shower (now that we have water again), it'll make me feel better. Then I'll plop myself in bed and fall asleep. I'm tired, cranky, and not in the mood to do anything.

I did knit a few rows on both Sean's tank top and on chevron scarf since I last blogged.

I also got an envelope in the mail today from Sherrie, who sent me my turtle eyes that I ordered from Little Tikes and my Addi Turbo's that I shipped to Sherrie's house. The turtles eyes they wanted 12$US to ship to Canada and the Addi's they wanted 26.90$ US to ship to me. Sherrie shipped ALL of the items to me for 1.31$ US. WTF??!!! Talk about overcharging for shipping! She even mailed them out early this week and I got them today. Talk about fast! I have mail that I'm waiting for from the stitch marker exchange, the last set that I have to receive, which was apparnetly mailed out two and a half weeks ago - I still haven't gotten it? I don't understand the mail sometimes.

I updated my Etsy Shop with some photography of mine that I'm selling. Go on - take a look. Support a photographer! Buy a print. Enhance your home with some beautiful photography. I have some more jewelry that will be updated into my shop this weekend. Look out for another update mention sometime soon.

I feel like screaming. I've got really bad anxiety right now. I'm frustrated and cranky. I better go shower. It'll make me feel better, but not 100% back to myself. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll feel better. I hope this heat goes away. I hope it rains.
This is how I found my boys tonight. How cute. Both crashed out in our bed. Had to take a pic!

5 Years

Last night I gave downloading Stranger Than Fiction one last shot. Guess what? I have no idea what the F@#! we were watching. The file must have been playing from a scene in middle or near the end of the movie, and then the audio was starting from the beginning. So obviously NOTHING lined up correctly! We'll be watching the movie again, hopefully tomorrow night, this time, correctly! I showed Jamie the file we actually downloaded correctly tonight, and he was shocked at what we've been trying to watch. No wonder I thought the movie was "whacked!"

This afternoon Jamie & I ran some errands. Jamie was home today, because yesterday was St. Jean Baptiste (June 24th). But because the holiday happened to be on a weekend this year, employers are obligated to give employees (full-time employees) either Friday off, or today off. Since most of the suppliers that Jamie deals with were closed today, he had today off, because there wouldn't be much work for him with Quebec contacts. (The holiday was only in Quebec, not the rest of Canada). Anyhow, Jamie has also next Monday off, because Canada Day (July 1st) happens to fall on Sunday, he has next Monday off as well. So due to this holiday business, there was no mail delivery or pick-up today, since it was a "holiday" for the postmen too. Dang it. I love checking the mailbox in the morning. I love not having anyone living above us right now, because I love being the first one to check the mail. I hated it when we had our first tenants living above us, since our mail goes into the same box in the door, if my tenant would be up or home, she'd go to check the mail. I hated that. I love peeking in the box and checking for the mail! (I'm a geek - what can I say). My last tenant, psycho, whom we just got rid of, barely ever got any mail, so she didn't ever check the mailbox and touch anything (unless I was out of town and I asked her to). I'm a geek who loves it when the postman rings twice!

Today, while out doing errands, I went to get a credit at Zellers. The stuff I bought Sean with my gift certificate on Friday went on Sale on Saturday for a few days. What I didn't know, was that ALL baby clothing was on sale, at 30% off. So, she credited me all the baby clothing I bought Sean. Anyhow, during this credit she was doing, I noticed that there was something odd on my bill. I was supposed to have only 7 tshirts at $6.97 (before the sale price) on the bill. Well, apparently there was 8 items at 6.97$ (which I did NOT realize on Friday during the check-out). And it said "MAILLOT DE BAIN" at $6.97. I did not buy Sean a bathing suit. Nor did I buy myself one. I bought Sean a while ago, 2 bathing suits for 8.97$ each at Walmart and he's been using them all spring/summer so far. I'm still wearing my maternity bathing suit. (It's not really maternity, but I wore it during my entire pregnancy and it's time to get a new one, eventually - but there is no way I'd find a bathing suit for 6.97$ for myself - I wish they were that cheap). What I thought was really nice, she didn't even ask any further questions, she refunded the $6.97 for me. Wow, that was nice of her. But now I'm kind of upset that this even happened, because I swear I was watching her scan every item. There was just nothing else that I purchased Sean at that price. Anyhow, I'm glad she refunded me that purchase. It would have sucked paying for something I didn't acutally get. And I'm very happy to learn that ALL baby clothes were on sale, and instead of walking out with a 20$ approx. credit for the 7 shirts that I bought Sean (in more than one style in more than 1 size because they were so cute), I ended up with over a 40$ credit. I'll never say no to saving money! Especially when kids out grow clothing SO darn fast!

I've chosen my yarn and wound a cake for my Jaywalkers. I just need to find the right needles (DPN's most probably) (I don't have circs for socks) and figure out if the pattern is the right size for my feet. I've started the KAL a bit ago, and I finally chose my yarn. Are you ready to cast on Angela?

I've added 4 new items to my Etsy Shop. Some Lucky Dice Stitch Markers, Some Butterfly earrings, as well as two different sets of matching earrings to stitch markers. All orders until July 15th, 2007 will be sent with free stitch markers! So go on - order your favourites! I do combine shipping as well.

I am loving Sean's new set of PJ's. I love that this kid is now in 6-12 month size - because he has received some adorable stuff as gifts. These pj's were bought a while ago by me, though, hee hee. They do say I Love Mommy. Because it's true, he does love me most. (Hey, he does spend most of his time with me, since I'm with him most of his day. Of course he spends time with daddy and other family members, but it's me he sees most. I don't mind that he loves me most, though! I won't complain! So here's your daily dose of Sean smiles.

And here is your daily dose of Sean the Stud. I don't know where on earth he gets this from, but he's got poses that he does, as if he knows he's the stud...! Girls - Beware!

And tonight, he got into Mommy's things. Of course, his toys are tossed behind him, as you can see, and he's 100% more interested in mommy's tape measure!

No knitting today. I actually napped this afternoon upon returning home from the errands, with Sean in my arms, on the couch. That could have been used for knitting time, but to be honest, napping was far more important today.

Today marks 5 years that Jamie & I have been together. Here's to many more years to come. We're having dinner together tomorrow night, we're BBQing pork chops and we'll crack open a bottle of Yellow Label. Tonight Jamie had baseball (every monday night at 7pm he's got his team's home games). HAPPY 5 YEARS BABE! (We acknowledge how long we've been together, but only "really" celebrate our wedding anniversaries now, when we used to celebrate our "dating anniversaries". But I still wanted to acknowledge a nice number like 5 years!)

June 24 of 30

This afternoon I worked on my Etsy Shop. All my images were photographed, I just had to edited them in Photoshop and then load them all one by one into Etsy. As I mentioned in my previous post, all orders until July 15th will be accompanied by free stitch markers! I do combine ship, so if you want to order more than one set, it's more economical!

This evening we went to my parents house for dinner, and Sean & I took a quick dip in the pool. I got him this really cute hooded towel the other day at Zellers (with my gift card that I got for my birthday - yep - spent most of it on Sean!) It was originally 24.97$ and I saw a sign that said it was 17.97$ on sale. I was willing for some odd reason to spend 18$ on this. Come on, it's cute, right? Anyhow, when I got the cash, it turns out it scanned at 8.93$! Right on, now I definitely wanted it! Lucky Sean. And he looks absolutely ADORABLE in it!

Tonight I had my father blow up with his electric machine (I certainly wasn't doing it by hand) Sean's new duck bath. If you touch the beak, it quacks. Totally funny. I put Sean in it, to test out size, etc... and it's just perfect. This will be SO much better in the bath, instead of the other tub I was using, which he no longer fits into properly. He's too long in length for it, and it's not comfy for him to sit up in it, just using the tub. So this duck solution, is grand. I can't wait for his next bath (tomorrow) to test it out! Rubber ducky, you're the one.... rubber ducky, you're so much fun!

And tonight, upon returning from my parents house, I dug out another pair of pj's for Sean. These are also 6-12 month size (I cannot believe he fits into this size!) These ones were a gift Sean got for his Brit Milah back in January. They're from Old Navy and totally adorable on him. It's kind of chilly out here (the last few days have been) so he won't be sweating in long sleeves tonight, but I didn't want to put him in a sleeper with feet - because it's not that cold.

Tonight after Sean went to bed, Jamie & I tried watching Stranger than Fiction yet again. Yeah... I dono about that movie. Really. It's bizarre. And maybe it's the file I downloaded, I don't know. It just doesn't seem right. None of the words, ever match up with the mouths. Now, I know, that you're supposed to be hearing what's going on inside of his head, but for the entire movie? None of the words EVER match up? Last time we gave the movie like 10 minutes. This time, we gave it like 25 minutes, and then after that even tried fast forwarding the file, to check out another part.... still the same thing. We're wondering if it's a bad file, and it's meant to not match up together with the mouths? If that's the case, and it's meant to be like that, I don't think I will EVER be able to sit through that movie again... So, I put on another movie. Upon hearing about this movie from Patty, I watched 10 Items or Less, which is a short 1 hour 20 minute indepedant film. Morgan Freeman is in it, and so is Paz Vega, who was in Spanglish, as the girl who was the main character pretty much, opposite to Adam Sandler. Jamie fell asleep, as I expected, and I worked on Sean's Cabled Pullover while watching the movie. It's coming along, but I have a lot more rows to go before 14 inches (which seems like a lot, but I'm doing it in 18 month size). So hopefully it will fit in the late fall/winter this year. And if its' too big he'll wear it later on. Progress picture soon, when there is more progress to show since the last time. Right now it doesn't look like much bigger than the last project update on it.

Tomorrow Jamie & I have some errands to run. Jamie's off from work since today was a holiday in Quebec. We will be spending the day together before he has baseball tomorrow night, since tomorrow is 5 years we've been together. I hope to crack open a bottle of wine, since after returning from our errands, I won't have to drive anywhere else.

Now, I'm going to hop into bed and read some more in Knitting Under the Influence so maybe I can finish the book one of these days!

Etsy Shop Update

My Etsy shop has been updated with 2 pages of new earring & stitch marker items. That's 19 new items. I have a great new line of stuff with Hematite Healing Beads. If you want to learn more about these healing powers, you can click here to read about them.

Orders until July 15th, will include a suprise package of stitch markers. You don't have to mention it in your order, it's an automatic give away!

June 22 of 30

I got some delicious mail again today. I think the postman is sick of seeing me - (kidding!) Anyhow, this package is from Judy, who is in my SP10 group, but participated in my stitch marker exchange. (The popcorn is gone by the way, it was soooo delicious, and very needed). I won't be telling Jamie it even existed, lol... She sent along 2 bears for Sean, and a Gingerbread kit. (One of my fave cookies!)

And this is the close-up of the stitch markers Judy made for me. I like them! Thank you Judy.

I also got my Yarn Odity in the mail today, purchased with earnings from Paypal from Etsy orders a while back. "Wrong 'Em Boyo is now called Get Real. I just LOVE the colors.

And since Pixie Riot was one of my stitch marker swap partners as well, she sent along the stitch markers that she made me, in the yarn package. Apparently I'm supposed to receive a goodie bag to match my yarn (stitch markers, magnet and some other fun pixieriot.net swag!) Oh, I can't wait to see what it is! Thanks Pixie for the awesome stitch markers for the swap!

Today, I'm inspired by Girl Hula's photos. Go check them out, really!

For Lotus Knit's contest, I'm supposed to a) talk about a finished object on my blog or b) talk about my next in queue project. I'll have an FO picture for you tomorrow (since taking this picture above of my Calorimetry I'm almost done it, and it will be done once I finish blogging), but for tonight, I'll talk about my queue project(s). Next up... is Jaywalkers (will wind cake of Opal tomorrow....! I'm making them in the same color as my friend Angela, so we have the same pair of socks - and yes, they're a PURPLE-Y color.... can you believe it?? I said PURPLE!) Also, in queue, is my chevron scarf, which I will start as soon as I get the yarn in the mail that I got for my birthday from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. So, there you have it, 2 projects "en queue" and check back tomorrow for an FO! Anyhow, if you enter her contest, PLEASE mention my name! Thanks!

For my little challenge I posted about yesterday, I'm going to finish finding my 10 items, that I bought and never used. It can't be something someone else got for you. It has to be 10 items you've bought, and never used, and the price tag/sticker should still be on it! Anyone else doing this fun scavenger hunt with me? I think it's a great fun little idea. I've found 3 items so far. I'm not telling you what they are just yet, until I've collected all 10 of them. So hopefully that will be tomorrow.

While out at Zellers today, I saw this shirt. I thought it was just too funny. It's the french Tete-A-Claques Willi Waller 2006. If Jamie wore green, I'd get him this tshirt when my month of Not Buying It is over next week. I went to Zellers today, with a birthday gift card, a credit note that I had from a return of Sean's stuff from a previous purchase that had no bill, I think, or something to that effect, and also, a credit note that Jamie had to there as well. I went in mind to replace my bathroom hand towels (a complete new wardrobe of hand towels) and bought some, and also spent the rest on Sean. Oh, and I got garbage bags, which were much needed. Apparently we go through a lot of trash. And to be honest, I'm sure a lot of it can be recycled. I keep meaning to go to the Eco Center a few blocks away from my house (I think that's what they're called) and pick up a recycling box. And then I can recycle the newspaper that Jamie reads every morning, milk & juice containers, and the flyers that come in the mail, and mail can be recycled too, once done with it (envelopes, etc)... I could be more "green". I just need to find the time (which I do have, I just have to learn how to manage it) and get there to get one!

So, now I'm left with a towel decision. I don't know which towels to go with? I bought two of each, and these are the ones I'm not sure about. Your advice would help! (There are a few sets I decided I am definitely keeping, so those I'm not going to post today)... They were all on sale, which makes me happy.

Now, don't forget I have two of each kind, they won't be displayed like this. Do you think I should keep both the solid & the striped for both the green & the blues? My bathroom is mint green (ew) tiles, and cream paint on the wall above the tiles (like the cream paint on the vent below the towels).

Let me know what you think. Each set was very inexpensive, and it's part of my birthday gift certificate. I could technically keep them all, but let me know if you think any just don't go. I'm thinking the two green ones are fine, because the striped one matches & the neon-ish one kinda makes the wall pop more. I like the striped blue one, so maybe the neon-ish blue one is just not hapenning? I like the color though of the neon-ish blue one..

The other sets of towels I got were Alfred Sung (on sale!) and one set is charcoal grey, a very nice shade, and the other is brown. They both go in the bathroom nicely, I think. Because of the "earth tones" of my bathroom. I feel that cream & mint green are earthy shades.

And I know you're looking for your daily dose of smile. This kid just giggles and laughs all day. Just need a lifter upper? Come see Sean. He'll turn your frown upside down, and make you giggle with him. And his little giggle, it's the cutest sounding thing ever. I'll have to capture it on film.

Sean was hanging out with me tonight in my office, while I was doing some Etsy stuff. I have a TON of new stuff coming out this weekend in my shop. I worked on it for numerous hours today. I really like what I have created. I'll announce when my shop has been updated. Sean needed a break from playing in his exersaucer, so he came and sat with me at my desk.

Yep, that's some stitch makers in the making on the white sheet on my desk. I'll let you know as soon as they're posted! Promise..

Tomorrow Jamie's helping one of my siblings move to their new home. I can't wait to go see it. I'll wait until they are all moved in, of course. I'm staying out of the way, because I'm useless when it comes to moving. (That's my excuse). Plus, who will take care of Sean, if I'm helping out too? Hee hee. Anyhow, I'm going to the South Shore tomorrow, to hang out with Angela. She's taking me to the bead shop near here, so I can spend my can recycling money that I got the other day. There are a few items I need for my Etsy Shop orders. It's not even for myself! Promise. I also need to do a return at Zellers, and get a credit on something I bought for Sean today, which actually goes on sale tomorrow, so I'll get them to price match. I just bought it today (with my gift card) to make sure that I was guaranteed to have one. I don't know if the location I'm going to tomorrow will have it in stock... but they have to price match if any of their items go on sale within 2 weeks of my purchase, so it works out. And also, baby jarred food was on sale there, (Walmart sells it for .89 cents, Zellers regular price is .67 cents and it was on sale for .45 cents this week), so I'll stock up on some more baby food, until I figure out how to make my own. (I had a book on how-to, just got to find time to read it and try it out!) (Soon!).

Tomorrow night we have a suprise birthday dinner for one of Jamie's friends. It'll be nice to hang out with some friends, and they want us to bring Sean. I think it'll be fun!

June 19 of 30

This afternoon I did some planting for the very first time in my life. Above is the before picture of the little area by the stairs to go up to the backdoor. The plant to the left is either Blackberry or Raspberries, we can't remember, and the one to the left is gorgeous purple flowers (yes, purple, I said purple) that grow up the spiral stair case and it's very very very nice.

And here is after I planted a row of flowers. I did one pink, one purple and rotated. Yes, I said purple again. I can't decide if this color is growing on me, well a certain shade of it anyhow.

Here is a close-up of the pink geraniums that I planted today. I love their "hot pink-ness" about them. They're just vibrant!

And the purple (yes there is that word again) flowers that I planted. I like that they are "tall".

This year was re-doing the backyard. Next year, if we're still living here, a garden. I'm trying to convince Jamie to move to the suburbs.... but anyhow!

Been looking for your daily dose of smiles? Here's Sean's smile. It is just tooooo contagious. I tell ya!

And here is the big boy drinking his bottle all by himself. This week, he's mastered to tilt it himself, so he can get all the milk out of there.

And tonight, Sean fell asleep on me, while I was playing with my camera. Since there was a light on, and enough light, I decided to take a picture. I love his sleepy face.

I've been meaning to post this for a while now, just didn't get around to it. Got some leftover yarn for Sean's blankie, which I plan to work on this week, just got side-tracked with Sean's Cabled Pullover Sweater.

At Webs while seeing the Yarn Harlot, Laura found me and brought me some yarn. You've got Opal Chamelion (in the back), STR Ruby Slippers (from left) & Lorna's Laces Motherlode (front right) above. THANK YOU AGAIN LAURA!

Then last weekend at the TTC KAL, my friend Andrea, brought some leftovers for Sean's blankie too. What's great about these, is that they are solids! I need solids! I didn't have too many solid leftovers before, and now I do - thank you!
My Etsy Shop has been updated. New items will appear this weekend, I'll announce a shop update. I've been working on some pretty darn cool new items!

My BMFA's Sock Club kit tracking number on the USPS website says that my package arrived in Canada on my birthday. So where is it?? How long does it take to get from the headquarters, which is probably in Toronto, to here? I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting shipement. Once I get it, I'll mention that the post has a spoiler in the first sentence, and if you don't want to look, don't scroll down. I'm hoping *crossing fingers* that it comes tomorrow.

Today, I was MAJORLY Pms-ing. I didn't even want to be around myself. I napped a bunch with Sean. The guy came to do the shop at home for the blinds/curtains for my den/dinning room. Jamie's mouth dropped at the price. I think we're going to go with the Den, but find a cheaper solution for the dinning room. I've got to call the guy tomorrow.

I changed some lights in the house to the energy star ones. I'll talk about that tomorrow. I'm hoping to make a few changes around the house that are a little "greener".

I ordered (but it'll take 4-6 weeks) some new "eyes" for Sean's Turtle Sandbox that we got for free over the weekend. The eyes on it are gross, and for .50 cents US an eye, I will have them shipped my friend Sherrie's place in MA, USA, and she'll put them into a bubble envelope for me, and ship them to me, because Little Tikes wanted TWELVE dollars to ship two small, weightless eyes to glue onto the sandbox to Canada. (Shipping to the USA was 5$, but MUCH better than 12$!) It's probably going to cost 1$ ish and change to have Sherrie ship it to me. 6$ in this case (5$ for Little Tikes to ship it to her, and 1$ for Sherrie to ship to me) is WAY better than 12$ still. MY GOSH! Why is shipping always F-ing reduculous to Canada for anything from "large" companies. Yet, when a friend goes to the post office to ship something it's like a buck or two?? What's wrong with companies and over-charging?? As it is, to ship to the USA, the shipping is costing more than the eyes!

Off to drink another glass of wine (Beaujolais Village - my current fave red wine) and read some more Knitting Under the Influence. Not 100% my fave book, but definitely interesting enough to continue reading to finish it. Especially since I'm more than half way through.

24 Weeks

I got some awesome stitch markers from Joanna in the mail today. She took great care in knowing I'm a professional photographer. (Non-practicing of course - right now). They are just perfect for me. Thanks Joanna!

Sean is now 24 weeks old. In two weeks exactly, he turns 6 months old. That's half a year. Wow.

I am still working on the lighting in his room for the mirror I've been using to do our self-portraits on Thursday (as the new week turns for Sean's "next week in age"... He was a little fidgety when I took these pictures, so I'll try again tomorrow maybe earlier in the day, when there is more natural daylight (with whatever actually does come into the room - since the neighbor's house is sooo close to ours....)

There has been progress on Sean's cabled pullover tonight while Jamie & I watched the movie The Guardian. It was a pretty good movie. I enjoyed it.

I still have a lot to go, but only this little wool left from my first skein. I had swatched twice from this ball, so I didn't bother unravelling them. I don't think I'll need 5 full skeins for his sweater, so I definitely have enough to not unravel the swatches. I just need to change skeins faster though this time. I really like the way it's coming out so far. I can't wait to see more progress. It's the back I'm currently working on, and I've got 4 of the 14 inches it asks to knit for the back. It's coming along great, so far!

I hate mosquitos. I really hate them. I have three nasty bites between two arms and they make me want to rip my skin off. That's the only thing I hate about summer. I love that I have a gorgeous tan right now, and I think I will be able to maintain it if I just go swimming at least once a week outdoors! I love that my freckles on my shoulders come out in the summer.

Today, out of the blue, the guy showed up to pave our driveway. We'd been wanting to level out the driveway for quite some time, on our side of the driveway. You see, Jamie & my father built a ramp out of wood so that we can drive into the garage. It wasn't level when we bought the house, and without the ramp, the bottom of the car will scrape, if it will even be able to drive in. Anyhow, the ramp was make-shift, and it was about time the asphalt guy showed up. While doing our side of the driveway by our garage, the Rabbi next door asked him once finished to do his side. He had his sewer area fixed, but not the pavement, and I guess since they were here to do ours, he figured he'd get his done. Now, you see, old asphalt is grey. New asphalt it black. So now there is a difference in our driveway. The owner of the asphalt company asked us, since he did both sides, if we want them to do a coating over the rest of the driveway, so it's all one color. I said yes, as long as the Rabbi is okay with it (because he's going to split the cost, of course). The work on the Rabbi's side took too long tonight, so he's coming back tomorrow to finish on the Rabbi's side, and then discuss with him if he wants them to finish the driveway with the coating to make it all one color. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

I'm kind of happy that now all the "fixer up" things around the house/outside the house, are getting done. It's starting to make our house feel more like "home", even though I want to move to the suburbs closer to my parents, and with my own driveway, central air, big windows, more than 1 bathroom, and the list continues... I am glad now that we can start using our house properly and not have "make-shift" objects to get by....! I really wish I had central air though... I'm dying of heat here people! Yes we have an A/C unit in our bedroom, fans in Sean's room and in the den (but that one seems to be working no purpose), and our basement is cooler than the upstairs, but... it's deadly. I need it to rain, so that it will cool off!

I just checked The Weather Network. They're calling for rain on Saturday. Good but not good. I don't want rain on my birthday! Also, we have the family day at Jamie's baseball game at the park. Then we have a BBQ with our step-family...! Rain is not good for that day. But good, because I need to get rid of the heat for a bit!

I've finally uploaded that last week's worth of pictures into my FLICKR account. So all the photos from Toronto are there! Go on, take a look.

I'm also very excited to receive my STR in medium weight for the Chevron Scarf KAL that I started. I can't believe one didn't exist before! There are a few members whom have joined already, very exciting!

I've been working on stitch markers today for the swap that I host as well, and some stitch markers went in the mail for a recent Etsy order that I got. The stitch markers for my exchange need to be in the mail by Saturday, June 16th, so I've got to finish those up tomorrow.
