I quit Facebook last night & it feels great. Those friends I was missing their contact info (email/phone numbers), I messaged and told them how to keep in touch. I’ve been weaning myself slowly off Facebook for a while, and last night I finally made the move and deleted my account. Let me tell you, I slept well last night! Now I know why my friends whom aren’t on Facebook, aren’t on Facebook. Are you on Facebook? Are you not on Facebook? Just like anything, it was a phase for me while I was on there, and it allowed me to reconnect with some old friends, but to be honest, while reconnecting was nice, as a mom of 3 kids, I don’t have the time or the energy to waste time on Facebook or the drama that Facebook creates.

About Me
- Knit and Purl Mama
- I am a 30-something mom who knits, and takes pictures, a lot. I am a mother to 3 adorable boys, Sean (Dec 2006), Mackenzie (June 2008) & Quentin (Nov 2010). This is my journey through motherhood, photography, the books I read, life in general and knitting, of course. Oh, and other crafts too!

I'm on FB and I like it. It's a good way for me to keep in touch with family and friends without actually having to talk to them. Ha!
I've never experienced any drama on Facebook, but maybe that's because of how I use it. I rarely post anything, and read the newsfeed on my BlackBerry, so I can skip over any crap. I also only have 67 friends on it, as it's really only to keep in otuch with family ands some good friends, as well as to keep up with what my son is doing on it!
I like Twitter better. I just wish more of my friends were on Twitter.
I constantly wonder why I have an account on Facebook. I rarely think to post on it and I just don't have the time to keep up with it when I do. I'm so lame that some weeks I don't even get time for birthday wishes and then by the time I do I realize I'm months behind. I'm surprised Facebook hasn't deleted my account for lack of activity.
teehee. good for you! :) someone else I know just recently deleted his fb account. guess it's a trend. you won't miss it. heck, i've never even had an account!
Amen! Ditto. :D
The only thing keeping me from deleting my account is that a lot of my friends use FB to organize parties, or even invite friends over for coffee, etc. I can't stand looking at FB myself. I find it overwhelming! So my husband deleted his account a few nights ago and he is telling me how much faster certain pages load on the internet...like the Huffingpost for example. It really makes me think of deleting it too!
Well I for one am missing you on there!
