Editing Photos

DSC_4037

I’m in the process of finally sitting down to edit my photos from my trip to Jamaica. A LOT of pictures were taken. At first it was a bit intimidating, I didn’t know where to start. (This photo above is of my fave scenery shots from the trip). This was taken on the beach in Negril, Jamaica with my d300s Nikon.

I am working on a photo order (prints) so I will slowly upload some photos to my blog. Be patient with me though, besides Quentin home recovering for another week, it’s spring break for Sean, and I have 2 kiddos home with me this week.

School Pictures 2012

PF209 PF213 PF216

I finally received Mackenzie & Quentin’s school photos from this past fall. A few of them are super cute. I had to do some photoshoping after receiving the photos (but that’s a whole other story) but once I fixed them up (mainly exposure, and food on my son’s face – she couldn’t take a few minutes to clean up the photo in photoshop?), I’m super excited to get these printed for friends & family (and must update some frames in the house on the walls!) Quentin is so cute, he just needs to learn how to smile for the camera!

The middle picture of Mack, is so “him”. My little mister with attitude! But a shy/sensitive attitude. It’s so cute. Looks like he had fun with the props too!

The 2 above are just stunning! I wish I would have been able to sneak Sean in that day to get a photo of all 3 of them together. I’ll have to take the boys soon to Walmart to get a shot of all 3 of them together. I don’t own any backdrops, and our work-in-progress home isn’t the greatest scenery for a nice photoshoot.

Wishing all my readers a happy holidays!

Budding Photographers

mackiephotog
I think I have 2 budding photographers in my household. They must get that from their mother! The two of them have been obsessed with taking pictures with my pocket camera, my little Canon SD1300. (I call it my purse camera since it’s always on me when I am not able to bring my professional camera with me). So much so, they’ve been fighting over it. We had gotten them for Christmas last year (or maybe it was the year before) some small kid camera (not the Fisher Price kind, but another kid camera, decked out with the Habs logo all over it, of course), but it’s not up to their standards anymore, I might have to look into getting them better ones for this Christmas.

The face Sean is making in this photo made me laugh. He’s sooooo into it.

iPhone Fun

Jan2012

Shot with my Hipstamatic for iPhone
Lens: John S
Flash: Off
Film: Ina's 1969

I’ve been loving the different camera apps on my iPhone lately. I’ve been playing around with Hipstamatic (which I think was on sale for .99¢ when I got it). Love the look you can give an image with the photo apps. This photo was taken 3 days ago, during bath time. The boys got a new hot wheel toy that can go in the bath, and they were playing with it, and I caught this image.

Project 365 + 1

365in2011

Last year I did Project 365, and stuck to it, for an entire year! I can't believe that I actually took a photo a day, for an entire year. Mind you, it's not that hard, being a photographer, and always having at least 2 cameras on me, at all times. (Always at least have my pocket camera, and my iphone camera on me).

366

And this year, I'm trying it again. Project 365+1. I've got Instagram (free) on my side, which is fun to use, and as well, Photo365 app too (.99¢). I'm ready to rock'n'roll for another full year of taking pictures every day. I was thinking of sitting out this year, as life got crazy busy, but I think I can manage a photo a day... to keep me on my toes. So pop on over to my 365+1 blog, and follow me there too! (Ps- If you click on the images, I have captions under each one!)

Quentin was a huge trooper during this photo shoot. The shoot was actually great timing. Just as I was wrapping up the shoot (in the park, in the circle I live in), the city's workers came on their machines and blew away all the leaves and cut the grass. It was meant to be! Perfect timing. And I'm in love.
