Since I can barely reach my feet - I got some new shoes.
I like shoes I can slide my feet into.

And along with these cute new shoes, I had to buy shoe liners.
I'd rather not get blisters (which were starting to form) and I'd like to avoid having to chuck them due to possibly getting fungus from foot sweat. No thanks.

I am just about done Roar. I have to sew on the spikes, and then get one of my boys to model it for me, so I'll post final specs very soon. This is sample knit #1, for Knitting with Sandra's yarn shop in Riverside, CA.

Today I went to check out Espace Tricot after having a nice lunch with Kadi. I don't get to see Kadi often, so it was nice to meet up. Mona was working today at Espace Tricot, so I went to visit.

Super nice in there. I recommend you going to check it out. I got to plop myself down on the comfy couch area, and knit a bit. Definitely a relaxing afternoon. Glad there was air conditioning in the store. It was approximately 32°C (89.6°F) for September 1st today! Way too hot for me, if you ask.

I started an audio book in my car yesterday. I've never listened to an Audio book before. I'm listening to Friday Night Knitting Club. So far, I'm enjoying it, and trying to not get distracted or have my mind wander off while listening. It's great, because I work 32 km (20 miles) away from home. I'm already 150 minutes into the audio book. Do you listen to audio books?

Still looking for baby boy names. This has got to be the most difficult thing I've ever done. Naming a 3rd son. Every name that Jamie and I actually agree on there is a reason why we can't actually use it. Either someone in the family is already named that, and we can't use it, amongst other reasons. I'm really upset right now. I hate that he has no name. I hate that we can't use our fave names. My hormones aren't helping either. Why is this so darn difficult?

I stood in line tonight and registered Sean for skating in the fall (Tiny Tots!) He's going to be starting in that, so he can learn to actual skate, before we sign him up for hockey. He's super excited. I couldn't believe the line-up tonight. At least I got to stand in line with one of Sean's buddy's dad, and we chatted and talked about daycare (they're in the same class), though he took a different time slot for his son, than what I registered Sean for. I actually registered Sean for a time slot that a lot of the other kids he's friends with (and parents I am friendly with) are doing. I would like to be able to go to as many lessons as I can, though as I progress in my pregnancy, we'll see how comfortable it is for me to actually attend. Hockey parents are psycho though... Pushing and shoving, cutting in line...! Crazy.

This morning I did a quick check in with the nutritionist and I'm still down 28.6 lbs, no change since Monday - which is okay. In the same area I did some groceries and then headed home. While Mack napped I did some work while the laundry was going at the same time. I swear, there is no end to the laundry. It just never ends. There is no end in sight.

I had a late lunch today, I think it was almost 3 o'clock. I was so wrapped up in work that I lost track of time. I did get a chance to take care of paying all my bills while I was eating lunch. I took care of everything today. Not a penny is owed anywhere - feels good I tell you. The only things that are outstanding are the renewal of my drivers license and my second installment of my city (property) taxes which are both due the week of mine and Mack's birthdays next month. (My license is to be renewed by my birthday and the taxes are due on Mack's actual first birthday). I've finally gotten to a place in my life where my credit is clear and things are stable. Feels very responsible. I'm putting money away for my kids educations (both of them have RESP's (Registered Education Savings Plan)) and I feel great about where I am in my life. We're blessed to have not been hit by the recession. I honestly don't think Canada got hit as bad as the USA did in that respect. All I have to say is I'm in a very happy place in my life. I hope that you, my reader are also in a good place in your life, and if not, get to a happy place soon.

I wasn't ready today to call the vet to let them know our decision about what to do with Jazz. We had been given a few options. 1) To have them dispose (I know, that sounds gross) of the cat with the "standard" way they dispose of animals. 2) We can have him cremated and get the ashes. 3) We could have him buried in Pet Cemetary. Or 4) We could have the cat to bury in our backyard or wherever we'd like. We're still mulling over our final decision, but we've pretty much have made a decision. But I'd like to wait until tomorrow to be sure.

We even talked a bit about possibly adopting another cat. It would have to be over a year old (I don't want a hyper kitten at all) and declawed. Zeus is declawed so we can actually get new couches now (or when we get around to it). There is a pet shop near us that has adoption days every other Saturday, so we said there would be no harm in looking. (Though, knowing me, I'll probably fall in love with every animal that needs adopting and want to take them all home). I have to find out when the next adoption day is, but we're in no rush. So when we go, if we do, it'll happen, or not.

I picked up these sandals in Toronto when I went down for Knitter's Frolic. I love them. It's finally warm enough to wear them, and I love how shiny and pink they are!

My neighbors tree finally is in full bloom. This has got to be one of my favorite trees. (And it's purple! My new fave color)! I'm so happy there are a bunch of these around the neighborhood and while walking by they always smell so darn good.

This morning Mack decided to get up at 5 am. So I brought him into our bed and gave him a bottle, and was able to get him to sleep again until 7 am. But at 7 am he wasn't interested in going back to bed, again, so I was up for the day. By this time, Sean was up as well, and I went into the playroom with both boys and we watched cartoons.

I was able to get Mack down for a nap at 10:30 am (as predictable when he's up at 7 am) and Jamie ran out to get some bagels for brunch. I wanted to make sure I had eaten a bit before going to the bridal shower, because I didn't know what time food would be served, or if there would be enough food for me to eat (diet appoved) so I didn't want to go hungry. There is a bagel place around the corner from us, and they have these really awesome whole wheat flax seed bagels. Yum!

After brunch I started to get ready for the bridal shower. I even applied some make-up today.

And got to wear my adorable new shoes. (Which were the best deal ever). I have the best of luck finding shoes at really good prices. They are just too cute. I love them.

I had a good time at the bridal shower today. I indulged and had a piece of strawberry cheesecake. Oh, was it absolutely devine! Heavenly!! Homemade strawberry cheesecake, how can you go wrong?

So, probably due to the cheesecake (and eating all afternoon - there were TONS of healthy snacks there today!) I was not hungry for supper when I got home close to 6pm. (It was late!)

This evening after feeding the boys dinner, I played with them in the playroom. Sean wanted to play "cars". He's obsessed with anything that has wheels right now (cars, trains, etc...) It's too cute. Totally a boy thing.

Somehow tonight, Sean managed to suck me into reading him 5 books before bed. Our usual routine consists of 3 (short) books. But tonight, he just managed to convince me to read him an extra 2! The little bugger!

This evening I cleaned up my office a bit,and now I can start to see my desk again. I don't even understand how my desk becomes a mess so fast, but it does. (And I have 2 desks in my office so you can imagine how messy both of them are!)

This evening Jamie and I watched Survivor from a few weeks ago (we're a few episodes behind). Eh, we'll catch up. We also watched Big Bang Theory, while I knit.

As of today, I decided I am no longer buying sean sunglasses. He destroys them. He's terrible! He breaks everything. I need for him to understand that you cannot just go and break the arm off, and he's just going to get a new pair, like that. It doesn't work that way. And there is no way to fix them. (Or worth it). Bah, it's too bad.

november twenty-five :: 23 weeks old

Mack is 23 weeks old today.

I got some yummy mail today - The last 2008 installment of the Rockin' Sock Club kit.

I also ordered a few things for my business from Bureau en Gros and had to order this along with it. I heart shoes. This tape dispenser rocks.

I also have to show off my new boots. I love them. I went to go buy Sean a pair of sneakers to leave at daycare and these were on severe liquidation. I was loving them when they were super expensive. On top of it it was buy one get one half off. How could I resist?

Snow. It's begun. I'm not sure whether I'm okay with it - or hating it. Ask me in a few weeks.

I never made it to Mack's swimming lesson this morning because of my winter boots. They wouldn't open on one shoe (the zipper) so that lead me to going nuts looking for the receipt, and after dropping Sean off to daycare, and dropping off Mack's new passport pictures at the passport office nearest me, I went to exchange the boots. I am SO happy that they had another pair in my size, because I love my new winter boots. But that resulted me in not getting to Mack's swim class. Oh well.

I spent the rest of the day doing some errands and then doing some work. It's been super busy around here lately.

There are a few projects that I want to cast on and some yarn that I am dying to use. First off, I'm dying to cast on for my February Lady Sweater - and trying out some Dream in Color Classy. I've never used it before. I also have some Wollmeise in the Digitessa colorway, that came along with the La Digistessa pattern from my Secret Pal 12 Pal that I got this past summer. I don't think I'll use it for La Digitessa (the pattern is 16 pages and a tad intimidating right now) but I'll definitely find a nice pattern for the yarn. It's sitting there calling my name. But no, I have some deadlines to finish first. I shall get to them!

Speaking of yarn! Robyn's Nest now carries lace weight! I plan on expanding this - but for now, we have 4 colorways!
