BRING ON THE RAIN!

Today it was soooo hot and mainly humid - I just had to do the dance to bring on the rain. (Which finally came around 5pm). Thank you rain - I hate humidity!

Today I worked on my project that was due yesterday. I have to hand it in tomorrow when I go back to school. I have 95% of it done, so I think, but I will just have to see about a few things once I get to school - and Laura is going to help me out with the logo - seeing as though I've actually done some of her homework for her in full before. But, something is corrupted with my file, and apparently I'm not the first person in the class to have this (according to Laura who didn't miss yesterday's class) so she's going to help me out on that one.

At about 3pm I was finally ready with my homework (and also got a little bit of laundry done AND baked 3 different kinds of muffins {blueberry, chocolate chip & apple/cinnamon} as well as organic brownies) and jumped into a shower as I had to meet up with Angela around 3:15pm around the corner from my house.

Met up with Angela and did a few errands (picked up juice and soda, went to the bank, did a return at Walmart and returned some movies back to the videostore). We got home, and chilled a bit (and folded more laundry) until Jenn showed up for dinner.

I made some whole wheat pasta for dinner and we got finished just before people started showing up for our little Montreal Knits chez moi.

Here are pictures from this evening:

Left to Right (Above): Isabel, Jennie, Angela, Sharon.

Left to Right (Above): Kadi & Jenn.

AND ME!!! (A very goofy picture of myself!)

At one point, the doorbell rang, and I thought it was someone for our group - but instead it was CANADA POST delivering to me my very first SP8 Package from my SP8 Pal! THANK YOU PAL - I LOVE IT!

I got some Fortissima PINK sock yarn (LOVE IT!) and some Patons Sock yarn (LOVE IT!) and some Moda Dea sock yarn (LOVE IT!) and some beads (LOVE IT!) and some needle protectors (LOVE THEM!) and some bamboo DPN's (LOVE THEM!) and some stickers for scrapbooking/collage (LOVE IT!) - Thanks a million SP8 Pal - you rock! It totally made my day (especially since my bronchitis has turned into a cold now, I can't breathe - the humidity is NASTY NASTY NASTY and well it just brightened up my day!)

This evening, while knitting (I got advanced another entire repeat on Clapotis - I need to photograph the progress - I will soon) we watched TV and spent from 8-9pm making fun of B-list celebrities playing The Price is Right on Gameshow Marathon, and then 9-10pm making fun of wanna-be dancers on So You Think You Can Dance? It was fun, and I had a really good time. I hope that everyone who came over had a good time too. I am very excited that there is an official meeting next week at 2nd Cup.
The package came complete with this birthday card, HOW CUTE!

LOVE IT!

Anyhow, everyone just left and I need to go clean up and head to bed (I am back at school tomorrow - after almost a week off from being sick!)

Feeling Better - Close But No Cigar.

Today I was not able to sleep in past 9:30 am - which was fine by me - because I had stuff that I wanted to get accomplished today, in no particular order.

First - I got up and watched Rumor Has It - which was cute, but just okay. I LOVE Mark Ruffalo - so it was worth it just to see him. Then - after finishing that movie - I watched - still in bed - The Family Stone. This one - was a little bit slow - which I had been pre-warned, so I knew what I was getting myself into.

After putzing around in bed all morning, I finally got out of bed, went back to the video store, returned some movies and rented 4 more:

and now - with the exception of 1 or 2 movies, I've rented everything that I've wanted to rent for a while. I'm all caught up on recent movies that I've wanted to rent. There is pretty much NOTHING in the month of June that is coming out that I want to see. And there have been NO action movies either lately that have come out. Which sucks.

While out - I went to pick up my photos from Vegas - which I ordered online. They were having a special - buy 20 photos get 20 free. I had about 3 orders - so I put one under my name, another under Jamie's name, and another under first name (my last name) and last name (Jamie's last name). So when I go there to pick up the photos - the girl gave me this lecture, and then told me that if I was going to do that in the future, to use a different telephone number for each. And then she told me that she's Christian, and she's going to feel guilty about giving me three orders when it's supposed to be 20 free photos per client!

I then on my way home headed to Walmart to pick up a piece that we needed to fix the flusher on the toilet (I broke it the other day - but Jamie said it wasn't my fault - but the cheap parts inside the toilet). I got myself 2 bathing suits for this summer - I am very excited about that. I'm dying to go swimming already! I need to find a pool nearby!

I read a few pages in my book - that I started - The Diary of a Mad Mom-To-Be by Laura Wolf.. So far - cute. I sat outside on my front steps to read - as it was BRUTALLY hot in my office. I finally got the window in here open, had to clear things out of the way to even get to the window. It was actually nicer to sit outside than to sit in my office - let me tell you!

I PROCRASTINATED my project that was due today, as I will have to hand it in on Thursday when I return to school from my sick leave. I really had no encouragement to do any of it in this heat. I hope to get a lot accomplished tomorrow - before I possible have people over for a knitting meet up at my house - a la impromptu style! I am really not impressed with myself for neglecting a huge project, but I just can't work unless I'm under pressure - lol.

Tonight was a self night - I really enjoyed just relaxing. I'm feeling a lot better (bronchitis) but still feeling not 100%. And now my nose is running - which sucks. Not too sure how that happened. It's deadly hot outside - and I'm sick. How does that make sense? I hope it rains tonight - because it's soooo damn hot outside - at least The Weather Network is predicting rain. Thank heavens. Get away this heat!

Diagnosed: Bronchitis

So, it's been officially diagnosed, I have bronchitis. I knew it - when you've had bronchitis so many times in your life - you just know. So I'm on Zithromax - which is safe for pregnant women. My doctor - who is actually a friend of the family, wasn't sure at first, so he called a colleague of his - and she told him it was okay. (I had with me, documentation printed off the internet, but whatever). After I left his house (he is off the next two days, and it's convenient that he lives like 4 blocks from my house) on my way to the pharmacy I called my OBGYN to make sure that he approved of me taking Zithromax (Also known as Z-pack). I knew that there is NO WAY I'd survive this without meds.

After the pharmacy, I decided to rent some movies, and went a little crazy - I guess.

I rented:

- Transamerica
- Fun with Dick & Jane
- Munich
- Shopgirl
- Rumor Has It
- The Family Stone

When I got home, I watched Shopgirl. It was a little slow, but I was expecting that - from other people telling me - but I had read the novel - by Steve Martin - and wanted to see the movie - which Steve Martin himself was in.

This evening I watched Fun with Dick & Jane with Jamie. It was dumb - a typical Jim Carrey movie, - but there was a steady flow of laughs - that I do have to admit.

I worked on stitch markers for my swap over the weekend, and here is what I created: Not sure how I am pairing them up yet - and which ones I want to keep for myself - hee hee - but I am excited and there are 13 people currently signed up - and I hope it's going to be so much fun!

My sister in law Andrea painted my toes for me last night. I really had been trying to find a salon that would just paint my hands & toes - but apparently in order to get your toes painted - you have to get a full pedicure - which can range between 35-50$. OUCH! No thank you. All I wanted was my toes painted! And don't you just love this hot red?!

Ignore my ugly feet. I hate my feet. EW!

Alright. Going to go relax and check on laundry.

A Nice Day For the Park

This morning I was up really early - and now I am feeling the effects. I have been up since about 8:15 am, and what didn't help was the fact that I had a sore throat and a cough the entire night. Really bad. Not enjoyable.

At 8:45 I ran over to the grocery store to pick up some waffles as my nephew Merlyn requested it for breakfast. Since I didn't know (but now do) that the grocery store only opens at 9 am, I ran into the pharmacy to ask the pharmacist about taking robitussen while being pregnant - as I needed something for my cough. She gave me this pamphlet - a pregnancy pocket guide for medications and such, and it's ok, for me to take it - as long as it says DM on the package. I wasn't sure what I had in the medicine cabinet at home, and Jamie's sister was in the shower, so he couldn't really get into the bathroom - so to be safe, I picked up a small bottle of the syrup. In the end, it turns out I had the DM at home (as there are two versions) but that's okay. Not the end of the world.

The Bat Mitzvah we went to was nice. The Bat Mitzvah girl did a fantastic job, and it was nice. What I didn't know was that my mom's best friend Rachel was the president of the school - and was there as well. It was really nice to see her after the ceremony. Rachel was involved in the ceremony - handing out the certificates of Bat Mitzvah's to the girls.

After the ceremony was a lunch, and that was just okay. Kosher food. And it was nice, we took a family shot with everyone, I can't wait to either receive a copy or scan it from Jamie's Aunt. Jamie's grandmother even made it to the ceremony - she has been in the Montreal General Hospital for a while now.

After all the events, we headed over to the house to change, the ceremony and events were just 3 blocks from our house at the Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue (a very nice one) and then we headed over to the park.

Merlyn - my nephew wanted to skateboard a little bit on the skateboard he got for his 3rd birthday last November.

And then Uncle Jamie wanted to try out Merlyn's skateboard....

And Jamie took silly pictures of Robyn....

What was really nice about this park, is that they have the good swings, the ones where adult tushies fit into the swing. So - I got on to the swings for a bit, didn't swing too high, I didn't want to take the chance of falling off.

I haven't swung on a swing in years. It felt so good - and so refreshing - just to swing freely and not think about anything else for a change. The weather today has been INCREDIBLE and just wonderful. Hot too - but with a cool breeze.

Tonight, I caught Zeus sleeping with his paw over his face. I find it the funniest thing ever - and it's a usual position for him!

Tonight we had Jamie's dad and step-mom over for a BBQ - and I requested them to bring me some salad. As usual, it was so deliciously good - with her special touch on her salad dressing (it's all about the dressing - let me tell you!)
Everyone has left, Jamie is home from baseball and Merlyn is in bed. Andrea is downstairs watching Miss Congeniality on the dish, and Jamie's in the other room looking for munchie food. Actually he's right next to me now asking if I have any chocolate & I do, so I let him take a bite.
I've picked out a book to start reading - Diary of a Mad Mom-To-Be by Laura Wolf. Looks cute. The tag line on the book itself reads: "Once, she was a sane, secure professional woman - then the stick turned blue..." I have been meaning to start a book soon - hope this one is a good one! I need to get back into reading.. it's been a while since I've enjoyed a good book, or any book at all for that matter!
Alright, time for bed! I hope I make it alive to school tomorrow. My cough is worse, the Robitussen is just kicking in (for bed) and I'm EXHAUSTED! I really truly should have been in bed hours ago - but there was lunch to make and laundry to fold and things to take care of that I neglected the entire weekend.

Yey - it's finally the weekend!

Today - I slept in until noon (much needed). Love the weekends for that!
Got up, did a few things around the house, and then all of a sudden it was 3:30pm and we headed off to my in-law's house to see our nephew and have dinner. Dinner was nice - a turkey dinner (Even though I'm not really into Turkey - it was still good). I loaded up on salad - which is always SOOOO good at my in-law's as my mother in law makes this amazing homemade salad dressing - which is sooooo simple, but whenever I try to make it myself, it NEVER turns out the same, or right. Always delicious when she makes it - and it's usually ME finishing off the rest of the salad helping myself to seconds even thirds... But it's SALAD... and I love it!

It was also nice to see Jamie's step-sister Karen and her daughter whom we call Little Jamie (Since I'm married to big Jamie - lol). Also - Jamie's step-cousin Val was with us. Everyone was so excited that I'm pregnant. Val - got married a month after us - already in her 40's - we are wondering when she's going to get pregnant. Her hubby is turning 45 soon, and we were soooo sure they'd start right away.

Tonight I started with a little cough, and I'm not too sure where it came from. I'm going to see if I can just relax and sleep it off - I do not want it to turn into anything bad at all. That would be TERRIBLE!

My office is a HUGE mess and I hate it. I am trying to go through things and see what I need and what is garbage and what can be donated and what-not... I want to condence my office before moving it downstairs, where Jamie has so lovingly offered me his office. It won't be a few months until we make the move - once we start on the baby's room. But we have 7 months until we need it finished, so there is plenty of time. But for the time being - there are things EVERYWHERE and it's starting to drive me insane... but I will just have to deal. That's all. *Breathe*

Alright, we just got in - and Andrea went to sleep with Merlyn in the den. We're all tired. Jamie's watching hockey downstairs and I am about to crawl into bed with some TV.. That's the plan. We have to get up fairly early tomorrow as we have a Bat Mitzvah for Jamie & Andrea's first cousin at 11 am, 3 blocks from our house.

Stitch Markers

Today I stopped at Le Chateau Liquidation to pick up a gift certificate for Jamie's cousin who's Bat Mitzvah it is on Sunday. It's from Jamie & I as well as Jamie's sister and our nephew. I think she will LOVE it, because she LOVES clothes. While there, I took a look at the dresses - and actually found something for the wedding we have on the 18th of June... and hopefully I'll still fit into it for the wedding in July, and I'm probably pushing it for the wedding we have in August. Anyhow, is it rude to wear a WHITE dress to someone else's wedding? It's not that fancy or anything, it's just a summery dress. I am planning on dressing it up with a pink shawl and probably pink shoes, (I have the hottest pink pumps) and probably some jewelry - so does that make up for the dress being white? It just was the ONLY dress that looked good on me, and I love it. And it even helps "hide" my pregnancy a bit - with the ruffles on the stomach. When I bought it - I didn't even think "oh it's white - and the bride should be wearing white" blah, blah, but I think that there was other people who were wearing white at my wedding. (Going to get my photo album to confirm - and that was a September wedding).

Here's the count:

3 white jackets
2 shite shirts
1 off white outfit
My mother's best friend Sandy wore a white outfit
My mother's cousin Marla wore white pant suit I think (I only see the top sitting at the table)

So - people do wear white to summer weddings. Technically my wedding was in the summer. September 18th was NOT fall yet!

Ugh, what to do? Would you wear white???

After Le Chateau, I went to Walmart to return some items, and then picked up a salad at Marathons - only the best food in the world. I love their Marathon's salad - it's a HUGE shame they do not deliver!

Came home, ate lunch, then decided to first start on making some stitch markers, some for my swap which the deadline is ending on June 1st, and then some for my SP8 pal - and some for myself as well - I like the ones I made. I created a TON of them! I was really impressed with myself. I need to photograph them all - which I will do soon. I have been sending her big packages as well as smaller envelopes in regular mail. What is really cool - is that both of our birthdays fall during SP8 - she's 13 days younger than me, and so I have some bday surprises for her! For sure! I am having a blast with SP8! I have sent her one huge package already, and she should be getting the smaller envelopes of stuff shortly. And I have more stuff going out to her this week.

I also - took out my SEWING MACHINE - and dusted her off! Plugged her in - and set her up. I pulled out my SNB book and turned to page 236 and created my own version of the Circular Knitting Needle holder. For my first attempt - I am VERY proud of myself. Two sections in, I realize that I needed to make sure that I reversed my stitch and went over the edges to reinforce. That was the first thing I learnd, and there was a few other things I learned along the way. What I was very impressed with - what the fact that I got all the sections in almost perfect straight lines (after realizing that I had to clamp down the thing on the sewing machine so that it held down my fabric! LOL) But I DID figure it all out - so I am very impressed with myself! Let me tell you. This is the hot pink fabric that I got at Walmart a while ago - it's PERFECT to make tote bags with - and I have over 10 m of it! It's a full roll - and I love it. I can't wait to see what I make! I have so many more ideas - I am sure in time - I will figure it out!

This evening, I took a self night - Jamie played softball and I watched TV and relaxed. Jamie had some friends over after ball, so I just did whatever around the house. I'm going to go crawl into bed shortly, I'm exhausted! I am so excited, I get to see my nephew tomorrow! They're in for the weekend.

Yarn Sale

During class, I get an email from Lainie, who tells me about a sock yarn sale.... So I ended up ordering some yarn super cheap! Not that I needed anymore yarn. I ordered for myself, and I ordered some yarn for my Secret Pal.
I love sock yarn. It's very addictive. But I want to finish all my WIP's before I start any new projects - that's the plan! I do have a few things to finish up.

Alright, this evening I took a bit of a self night - since Jamie was working.

Alright, I need to do a few things and clean up my friggin' messy disgrace of a desk. Speaking of desk and office - yesterday when I idiotically tried to convince Jamie to move to the west island before the baby is born, after not talking for a little bit - he came to the conclusion that he will give me his office. He's not really using it - and well - he doesn't really need it - to be honest, and he can just put his computer out in the basement play area. I am going to look into getting Jamie a new desk somehow - maybe my old one from my parents house - if it's not being used. I am not sure what furniture my sister is taking with her when she moves out next week. Jamie's desk is falling apart and frankly too big for our basement. BUT - YEY! I get an office. I'm not really fond of the basement (It's cold and there is a basement smell to it) but I am sure if I fix it up somehow - it'll come along just fine... :) YEY! I don't lose an office...! And it's probably just about the same size as the one I have now!! Woohoo - I'm so excited!

Alright, more later. Ciao.

Lost, Thyme & Mail!

This afternoon I met my mother at her LYS and did some shopping with her. I also picked up some beads at Ted's Hobby Shop for my Stitch Marker Exchange.

Today I went to a Maternity shop and I picked out some pants at Thyme Maternity, as I desperately needed pants. None of my pants will close anymore, and I have been living in workout pants/sweat style pants. No good! I have a Bat Mitzvah to attend this weekend, needed dressy pants, as well as some jeans and casual pants. I spent some money, but did good! I had no choice, had to spend the cash. I'd NEVER spend 65$ on jeans if it wasn't speciality for maternity, and I know I will get good use out of them - as I want more than 1 child.

Afterwards, I went to my parents house for dinner, hung out with my mom for a bit, ate dinner with my parents, (we had a nice piece of fish) and I played with Bosco for a bit. I went over the menu for the dog show in October with my mom (we had to decide if we were going to buy into the meal plan or find food on our own while we were there. I liked all the meal plans, and so I told my mom to buy into it - this way, we get to spend time hanging out with other Great Dane owners, it's purely a Great Dane show, and not have to worry about finding restaurants, etc).

After dinner, I came home, and received a package in the mail from Lainie! (THANK YOU HUN!) I love it. The chocolate smells delicious, it's semi-sweet chocolate. I also got 3 bottles of baby products, aren't they SOOO cute? As well, my letter initial with one It's a Boy ribbon and TWO pink It's a Girl ribbons. (Can you tell I'm hoping I have a girl?)

Alright, LOST finale is on in moments... GOTTA GO GET GLUED TO THE 2-HOUR FINALE!

Lease Signed - No More Worries.

I was watching that De-clutter show on TLC - hmm, what was it called - nevermind - it's on HGTV (Home & Garden Network) - ok, not sure what the show was called - but it could be Mission: Organization - but it's re-organization but with getting rid of clutter. This show got me thinking about losing my office when the baby comes and having to de-clutter my stuff. It's a little hard to though. Especially - since over time - my office has become my arts & crafts storage room and I'm not too sure what I'm going to do with all my yarn and craft supplies. And Jamie's trying to work on me to put my desk in the den - but I don't see how it's going to fit - plus, I will lose the privacy of my office - which sucks.

Today, after class (which I got my poster done in time - told you I would!) - I came home, did a couple of things, and then went to do my errands: first I returned 3 bags of soda & beer bottles to the grocery store and made 5$, also returned the big water jug for a new one (had the stock guy put it in my trunk - there was no way pregnant or not I could even lift the thing!) Then I went to check out Winners (TJ Maxx for you Americans) and they a) had zippo as far as a maternity section and b) no dresses at all that I liked or that fit - as I have 4 weddings this summer and only 1 do I have a bridesmaid dress for! (And it's the last wedding of the summer - so I can't even re-wear the dress!) After Winners I went to the gym - which is in the same building - so I didn't have to go far. I spoke to my trainer and he was worried about us (as Jamie and I have not been since before our trip to Vegas - I have been WAY too tired to go lately, and Jamie started up baseball again). We talked about me being pregnant, and he told me that until I'm feeling better (and not tired - which usually goes away in the end of the 3rd month) - to just do simple cardio and to NOT do the previous routine he gave me to do. He said to come to see him at the beginning of July and he'll set me up a pregnancy routine. He has trained pregnant women before, and just recently as well - and she trained right through her 9th month as well! I want to keep in shape. I also want to see if I can find a prenatal yoga class. I looked into the studio 2 blocks from my house, but they are a dance studio with one small pilates class (and pilates is NOT what I want right now). I will keep searching, hopefully there won't be a class too far from my house.

After the gym, I came home and met up with my new tenants! I had the lease signed and I'm SOOO happy to have new people moving in and I don't have to worry about it. Found out the details, it's a a girl around Jamie's age (in her 30's) with her mother, and the 30 year old woman's 3 children (ages 7, 8 and 10). I'd much rather 3 kids who go to bed around 9-10pm above me, than the couple and their 21 year old son, who comes home at ALL HOURS of the night, and bangs around til ALL HOURS of the night (since his parents usually do the graveyard shift at the hospital- they're never around, so he can bang around til whatever hour he wants (CRAZY!) And - HIS BEDROOM is above OUR bedroom. How sucky is that? So - there have often been nights, where I can't sleep because of him! Or he wakes me up. (I'm a light sleeper!) One more month of that... phew! Hopefully my new tenants will not bang around and whatever hour of the night. And I hope that when I have my baby in January, that I'll have a good baby and he or she won't be screaming until all hours of the night - and keeping them up - lol... I do want tenants that will stay and not move!

After the signing of the lease I took a walk over to the strip mall near my house and picked up a new toothbrush for myself (in pink of course!) I'm trying out the new Colgate Massage toothbrush, the last brush I got was complete garbage... blech! I found that it didn't clean that good... time for a new one! And I picked up some shampoo and body spray and bodywash (the last two both Axe - he likes the green scent - I think it's called Kilo - I also really like that scent on him) for Jamie. Then I did some groceries (enough just so it wasn't too heavy to carry back) and then walked back home. It was nice to walk and listen to my MP3 player. It's not a long walk at all (longer when you have heavy-ish groceries though!) LOL.... I should start walking more. That's the plan. More walking. Especially to places near by.

I'm craving Grapefruit and Cherries. Grapefruit looks HORRID in the grocery store (anyone know a kid selling grapefruit for their elementary school - you know - the good kind from Florida? I'll buy a box!!! - Or is this the wrong time of the year?) and Cherries - can't find any. Maybe tomorrow I'll go to the fruit shop - but even then - I don't know if they're in season yet. I'm DYING to buy a box! Mmmm! Cherries! Mmmm!

Tomorrow, my friend Cindy cancelled our lunch. I'm still going to the west island to meet up with my mother at a shop to pick up my cousin's bridal shower gift - which I can't talk about until AFTER her shower and I'm going to see if I can get One Skein at Chapters - if they have it in stock. Chapters online now ships in 24 hours - but is 27$. Amazon.ca has it for 17$ but ships in 4-6 weeks. I'm going to see how much Chapters has it in store for, and see if they even have it in stock. I'd LOVE this book. Maybe I'll be able to get it. And next to Chapters is a maternity store. My mother's going to come with me to look. My pants are already not fitting me anymore, I'm living in stretchy pants, lol... and I need a few pairs of khaki's and possibly a dress or two for these weddings I have upcoming! I didn't think that I'd start expanding this early - but I have.

Alright, bed time.

Been In PJ's Since Saturday

I've literally been in PJ's since Saturday when my guests left and Jamie hung out with his friend Sat night. It's been one long weekend and I've been really tired. Sleeping in late, (til almost noon both days) and just vegging around. I should be working on my project that is due tomorrow - but I don't feel like finishing it. I did start it though - and it'll take me just a few more minutes to finish - but I just don't feel like actually finishing it. I will *try* to get up early tomorrow to finish it - we'll see. If not, I'll have a huge problem, because I believe the assignment is due at the beginning of the class, lol. Oh well. I always get things done on time, and - I'm master of last minute. Actually - I think I work best under pressure with a deadline, or late at night, but I can't do these late nights anymore - not with the exhaustion that pregnancy brings.

I need to get myself back to the gym. VERY IMPORTANT. Maybe it will help me get more energized? And maybe even though I should NOT be losing weight at this time - maybe it will help me shape my thigh's better and lose some of the fat, but gain muscle. I need to talk to my trainer about being pregnant and working out. See what he says. I wonder how long into my pregnancy I can work out. I need to speak to my trainer and also my OBGYN on the 7th of June at my first apointment. So many questions for him! He's going to need to spend time with me on that day.

I'm so sad my long weekend is over, especailly since it rained the entire weekend. There was barely enough sun... at least it didnt rain this morning - Jamie actually was able to get his friend Michel over again, and they did a great job working in the backyard. Maybe soon we can get our garden planted and the rest of the tiles laid out so we can have a finished patio, and we can actually go and buy our patio table set (speaking of which - I have a raincheck from Zellers which I need to call and find out what the heck is happening with that!) They said I was next on the list for the set - but they haven't called me to tell me it's in.... I should call them tomorrow. Find out maybe if another location has it - so I can pick it up there.... It was such a good deal - a 13 piece set on sale from 499.99$ to 299.99$ - had to make sure I got a raincheck (because obviously when I got there the 2 they had in stock were already reserved), and they said that I was the next on the list.... in line for one.... it's been at least 3-4 weeks since that happened... yeah, at least.

Alright, I'm going to go watch 24 season finale with Jamie. It's on in just a short few minutes. I hope it's good. Can't wait to see how it ends!

Hungry But Don't Want To Eat.

Today's been a horrid day in the sense of the way I've been feeling. I have been feeling EXTREMELY tired and hungry, but when I go to eat, nothing is apetizing and everything makes me feel nauseas. It got to the point, where I just returned 3 minutes ago from McD's drive-through as the only thing that wasn't making me nauseas was McD's french fries. How sad. I'M HUNGRY! I'M HUNGRY! I'M HUNGRY - but I don't want to eat anything.... argh!
Today was a movie day for Jamie & I. First - after getting up - we watched Into The Blue. It was not too bad. I worked on my Clapotis the 2 of the 3 movies we watched today. Second movie lined up was Deuce Bigalow - European Gigalo. I wanted to watching something dumb and light. It was both dumb and stupid! But worth a few good laughs. Then - a third movie - we were going to watch Man of the House, but while watching the previews we saw a commercial for something else - so we decided to change it to the movie, and we watched Bewitched - which was VERY cute, and I loved Nicole Kidman in it. Will Ferrell was a complete idiot - as usual.

Then - it was time for Sopranos and Big Love on HBO. - What an evening of TV. I can't believe the Big Love season finale is in two weeks - next week it's not on because of Memorial Day in the USA - but I feel like the season just just just began! As I just recently started watching that show. Weird.

Now - for some more TV - I'm hoping into bed to watch the season finale of Desperate Housewives, which I taped during Sopranos/Big Love - the grand 2 hour episode. I can't wait!

Nothing else really going on around here - besides the fact that it will take now 4-6 weeks to order One Skein from amazon.ca and it won't be in time for my birthday - which Jamie told me to order and he'd get it for me. But it's not happening. I first off, can't find another book to order with it (for free shipping). Shipping is rediculous when you just order 1 book, so in the end - it's worth it to order a second book, because the book is almost free - cuz it's as if you're paying for the shipping. I'd rather buy 2 books than buy 1 book and pay shipping. But for the life of me - I can't find a second book to equal the total for free shipping (39$CAD). So - I'm going to put that book on hold - and secretly wish for it. And I can't understand why it would take 4-6 weeks to ship? Last week when I eyed it - it was only 3-5 weeks to ship. I don't understand why now, all of a sudden, an extra week has been added on to either end of the shipping dates. Oh well - I'm going to go watch Desperate Housewives and forget about my want for this book!

NEW GLASSES!

Today was a very simple day. I slept in - that was for one. Sleeping in felt fantastic. I picked up my new glasses today!

HERE SHE IS: MY NEW PAIR OF GLASSES: (INCLUDING SOME PINK!)

And on me - modeling them in my nice new blue pj's with not done hair:
What do you think???? So???!!!!! Do you like them? Do you like them on me? I love them. They rock. They have pink on them!
On my way home from getting my glasses - which took longer than I expected since I had to wait for my uncle to adjust them to my ears, I picked up our friends Shel & Vera - whom were coming over for a last minute BBQ. Shel's car is in the shops (as something's wrong with is - but no one is sure what) and it's still pissing rain out - so V couldn't really just hop onto her motorcycle - which she would have - (brand new bike!) but the weather isnt' allowing her to. We stopped off at the grocery store on the way home, as they needed some items, and we needed some items, and then we came home to a small BBQ. Jamie's friend Dan was over. Also - Adam came over, too - but he was going out for dinner after, so he just joined us for the company. It was nice to hang out with friends for a little while V & I watched a documentary called Mad Hot Ballroom - which is entertainingly very good while the boys played poker. When Adam left, Vera and Shel left with him for the ride.
Daniel stayed over and hung out with Jamie - I actually took a self night - just chilling by myself an watching some TV. I'm going to go back and veg some more, I just don't feel like doing anything else. I also have no eaten too much tonight, not feeling too good - can do that to you. It's really starting to get very annoying (the feeling of hunger, but te sight of food is nauseating!) When will it stop?

Sunlight & I HEART REGIA!

Did you know that in an average week in May in Montreal, we get 55.5 hours of sunlight in a week. This week... you want to know how much actual sunlight we've had?

A total of 5.5 hours.

We've had nothing but rain. Rain. Rain. And guess what? More rain....

*Rain, rain, go away, come back another day*

Today, I had my 9 am class, which I almost didn't make it to, due to feeling a bit nauseas and under the weather and also - TIRED. You guessed it. TIRED. Pregnancy = tired. I don't think I've ever felt this tired, in a long, long, long time. Not *THIS* tired.

Class was a drag, but I got some stuff accomplished and also - it was a heavy duty theory class with a lot of notes, so I'm glad that I finally dragged my ass out of bed. That's for starters. Second, we had a 5% exercise to hand in, which was marked on the spot, and I got 5% already of my final grade. That was an easy 5%. I also have another 5% exercise due next Friday, which accompanies my sketches (thumbnails) that are due for my 12 page brochure that we have to hand in at the end of the semester, on which, I chose to do it on B'nai Brith Canada.

For lunch, I went with Jamie to Marathons (the other food I crave besides cheeseburgers) and had a delicious lunch. We met up with 2 of Jamie's 3 ex-coworkers that he usually gets together with every Friday for lunch. It's always nice seeing them.

Got home and my REGIA sock yarn was waiting for me.

Here's what I received (goodie, goodie, goodies * giggle!)

Ain't this lovely? And I'm in heaven with the colours. It was the right choice for me. 100%! They are all 50g balls (takes 100 g to make a pair of socks in full length).

This afternoon I knitted a bit in front of the TV, worked on my Clapotis. This evening we had our usual poker gang over and I played the first of 2 games. I came in 3rd, which is pretty good, but since we were only 7 people playing, I guess it's not that great.

Alright, I'm not feeling too good, so I'm hoping into bed. Tomorrow you better believe I'll be sleeping in. Tomorrow afternoon apparently we're having people over - the same people who were supposed to come up north with us - Jamie's making a BBQ in the rain. Fun fun. I just want to sleep right now, and catch up on sleep. The nausea will hopefully NOT keep me up tonight, as it has the last two night.

Speaking of nights - I had a really odd dream last night/this morning. I dreamed that I was on vacation with Jamie, and I accidentally stayed out all night on the beach - fell asleep on the beach - with a ton of other people, as some party was going on - and when I got to the room in the morning, Jamie was gone, and had left a note, that the dang hotel room cleaning lady had broken his glasses, and he had to go find somewhere to get them repaired, so he can see again. What an odd, odd, dream. Very weird. I've been remembering my dreams more and more lately. Apparently it's something that happens during pregnancy (remembering more dreams).

Alright, sleepy time.

SP8 Gift & Tenants To Be Signed!

My SP8 Partner has received what I've sent her. Since she doesn't have my blog - not until I reveal myself, I can post what I've sent her.

I sent her 4 balls of yarn, 2 in a blue-ish black and 2 in some crazy colours (Plassard "Frange" Yarn). I thought they were very funky, and just had to send them. I sent her some white cotton yarn as well - I love making dish towels. I sent her cable needles, and a picture frame that has a ball of yarn on it. I made some bracelets - which she emailed to say was her favourite item included, as well as the book - 1000 Great Knitting Motifs. I also sent a bunch of non- knitting related items as well - I hope everything goes to good use for her, and I hope she liked it. This was my first SP package - in my first time participating in SP... So I hope that I've done a good job?? I've heard from my SP partner, can't wait to see what I get in the mail!

Alright, I have some good news. I have a lease being signed on Tuesday for the apartment upstairs. I am sooo happy. I need to fill out the paperwork of a new lease, but that should not take me too long, plus most of the information I need from the new tenants. I can't wait! I am happy that it's one less thing to worry about right now. It's a nice family of 5 moving in - I'm not really too sure who the 5 are, except for the 2 that I've met already.

I've gotten a bunch of magazines (pregnancy, knitting and other related) and so I'm going to go empty my garbages (garbage day today) and then head onto the couch for some reading time.... unless I fall asleep into a nice nap - that would be nice too. Zonked from the week.

I HEART ALPACA BOUCLÉ!

Today in class, I WAS able to finish my Cinema poster that was due by 2:30pm. Here she is, finished:

basically had to take a children's movie (cartoon character) and turn it into a movie poster. After deciding to do it on Donald & Daisy Duck, I found a title that would be appropriate for the image I was going to draw in Adobe Illustrator, and that happened to be Donald's Lucky Day - a 1939 Disney Movie. I threw on some "movie credits" and voila - an awesome poster that turned out VERY WELL. I love it! I can't wait to see what marks I get on it. I certainly put a LOT of time into drawing the ducks... let me tell you!

After my last class which ended at about 5:30pm, I met Angela in the lobby of my school. She was coming over to my house this evening for the series finale of Will & Grace - which I will talk about shortly. But first - we stopped over at Mouline - a LYS near me. It was litterally a 2 minute drive from my school - 0nly because there was traffic! And school is an 8 minute drive from my house.

I found these hat & glove double pointed knitting needle holders, which I had been loolking for EVERYWHERE! My cousin Jenn has them, and I thought they were the cutest things in the world. Had to have them! Finally found some at Mouline! I only got 1 package (which inclues 1 hat, 1 glove). I love them! Can't wait to start another project with DPN's! Actually I can throw them onto the pair of socks that I have going with the vintage sock yarn I have!

I also splurged a little more on myself and purchased this Alpaca Boucle yarn - in Fuscia - LOVE THE COLOUR! I bought the 7 balls she had left, and am NOT sure what I'm going to make with it - but I will come up with something - I'm sure of it!

It actually looks a little variegated with different shades of pinks..... Which is hard to tell in this picture below, as it's soooo close in... but I am in love with the feel of this yarn. I saw it - had to have it - and even better - it was on sale!

Angela and I picked up some food for dinner, and we came to my place to watch The finale of That 70's show, as well as Will & Grace. We were both disappointed on the way they ended Will & Grace. They kept flipping back time, and well, it was just odd. Then again- I haven't seen Will & Grace in a couple of seasons, so I am not sure if maybe the way the ended it was normal for regular show watchers.
We knitted while watching TV and that was nice. I got some rows done, and as well - dropped another row of stitches in my lovely Clapotis. I love the way it's coming along - but it's still not even half way done! Crazy! It's an awesome project though. Let me tell you!
I just brought Angela to the metro station and I'm beyond ZONKED. I've been more tired than ever lately... time for bed.

Knitting Meetup

My busy day, consisted of working on some homework, catching up on Big Love from Sunday night, picking up Angela, showing the apartment upstairs to yet another family of 6 people (OY), shopping at Walmart (eating 2 cheeseburgers at Walmart's McD's - MMMmmm!), having Angela Straighten my hair (FEELS SOOOO NICE AND MAKES ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT MYSELF - cuz all I feel is fat and ugly now!) and what else we do today... oh - go to Montreal Knits. All this - makes me tired. And that's not even much!

Tomorrow Angela is meeting me at school - I end just as she would get over from finishing work, we're heading off to my LYS Mouline, then over to my place to watch the season finale of Will & Grace. I haven't been watching, but kinda want to watch the finale (I did the same thing with Fraiser - I had seen so many previous random episodes that I wanted to watch the series finale).

Today - I bought 2 pregnancy magazine (and got one in the mail from Jenn's mom - my Aunt Betti - she is too cute) and also Knit.1 as well as the Interweave Knits Mag - which has a gorgeous maternity sweater that I WILL knit, which is actually a pattern by none other than Kate Gilbert - who is now a Montrealer!! I am so excited to start the pattern. Right now I'm currently knitting her Clapotis pattern - which is coming along FANTASTIC - I will post pictures tomorrow - way tooooooooooooo zonked tonight to do so.

I had a really good time at the Montreal Knits Meet up - but way too tired, so I didn't get much knitting done at all to be honest. Maybe 5 rows (at 106 or 107 stitches per row... ok, I guess that's a lot? LOL)

Alright, I can barely hold myself up in my desk chair, eyes are getting droopy. A demain.

Rain Won't Go Away.

Here are current pictures of Bosco.

This last picture, he's hiding in my sister's closet. Amy is in the middle of packing to move out around the 1st of June - she'll be moving out from my parents house.

Today in my montage class we ACTUALLY did a lecture/tutorial and learned a few new things, but most of it was just revision on the software called Quark - so it was all just shit we already knew. I am finding that lately we've really not been learning much, at all - and it's just been the same old bruchures and pamphlets to put together. What a joke - I tell you.
The rain in Montreal just WON'T go away - and it looks as though it's going to last the entire week - even the weekend when we should be going to the country house for the long weekend (It's Victoria Day Weekend this upcoming weekend).
On the knitting front I've been working on my Clapotis, and I'm already on my third drop stitch repeat. It's sooo much fun to get to a stitch that you get to drop - and then drop it! I'm loving this pattern - a little repetative, but so easy - as I'm new to reading patterns.
Took a self night tonight, Jamie had some friends over - as he usually does on a Tuesday night. (Hockey is usually on!)

Clapotis Progress

I'm just about to start my first row of drop stitch... I wanted to photograph and share before continuing on! Ain't she a beauty? I'm loving this project! Still not too sure how this will end up looking like a triangle - but anyhow! I trust the pattern!

More later!

Happy Mother's Day

Today was a nice day. We had family over at 1pm for a BBQ for mother's day. In attendance it was: my sister, my brother, his girlfriend, my parents, Jamie's mom and her wife, Jamie's dad and his wife, My dad's parents and my mother's mother. It was nice to have all the family over for a BBQ.

I am sooo happy that we decided to tell everyone yesterday that I'm pregnant. This way - we had NO worries about people knowing or not knowing and incase it slipped - I didn't want ANYONE pissed off. Understandable, right?

Anyhow, it was nice - and everyone loved their gifts. I didn't take my camera out - but I did notice my father in law take some pictures, so I'll have to get them from him.

Jamie took care of the BBQ and everything was delicious. Of course we had too much food - thank goodness for leftovers - lol.

Next year will be different, I'll actually be a mother!

I'm going to go watch Sopranos and Big Love with Jamie shortly. Going to go get things in order and relax by the TV!

The World Knows!

So this morning after getting up - at a decent hour - I called my Auntie Betti to tell her the good news - I'm pregnant! She said she knew it at Passover - which is funny - because - I wasn't then. (But am now!) She said she just knew.... it's funny how both my mother, Jamie's father and my aunt - all had a hunch. Family - lol!

Next on my list was my dad's parents - I wanted them to know incase it slipped tomorrow while they were over - but didn't want anyone upset. My grandmother was very excited for me - which is exactly how I wanted her to be. Next on my list - was my brother and his girlfriend. I called them - woke them (hee hee) and told them. They seemed happy - which is good!

I finally got in touch (some point in the afternoon) with my second cousin Mona who is one of my mother's best friends - and told her the good news as well. I tried calling her a few times, but there was no answer, and I didn't want to leave the news on her answering machine. So when I finally got in touch with her - she asked me why I didn't leave a message and I bluntly said "Well I didn't want to leave a message on your answering machine telling you that I was pregnant - so impersonal!"

I caught Zeus in a very funny sleeping position today, had to share it:

And then later on - he was gettting cozy next to our fireplace in the den. The cat's life, eh?

Just hanging out tonight - nothing much going on. Knitting and watching TV will be happening shortly!

Clapotis & The World Almost Knows

Today I bid on and won some bamboo DPN's on ebay. I got each set for .99 cent! I couldn't believe that no one tried to outbid me! The first set is 12 paris 15cm (6 inches long) and the pair below is 14 sets at 20cm long (which I believe is 8 inches almost). I know you can travel on air planes (for my future travels) with bamboo or plastics. I only have 1 set (non matching - different lengths) of plastic, 3mm, so it'll be nice to have matching lengths. I've been into bamboo knitting needles lately, so I had to have two sets at 1.98$ (.99 cents each!)

Last night I started my Calpotis. I'm in love with the colour. Here's her progress so far:

This morning in class, I had to tell my teacher that I'm pregnant, because she was worried about me. I had to get up to go to the bathroom several times (ok, more than several) as I just kept having to pee. I tried to hold it in, as she was giving a lecture, but it was just really hard! She asked me after class if I was okay, she thought I was sick - I just told her that I had to go to the bathroom because I'm pregnant. She was really excited and told me that with one of her kids, she was sick for 8 whole months. I hope that is not the case with me - so far I've been very lucky. Breast tenderness and tiredness, no sickness yet. Knocking on wood...
This afternoon I sat on my couch and watched A baby story on TLC and Bringing Home Baby right after, and worked more on Clapotis. I am really enjoying working on it - and I've learned some new techniques. I've done SSK (slip slip knit) before, but never KFB or PFB (knit front back and purl front back) or yo (yarn over) and I've never knitted through the back loop before - which are all techniques I've just learned for the Clapotis. A very helpful site - with video is: Knitting Help. (Thanks to my cousin Jenn for the site!) The videos are VERY helpful.
This evening, we had Jamie's dad and step-mom over early for dinner, and Scott, a friend of Jamie's came to our Friday night Poker game early, so he also joined us for dinner. We told Scott about me being pregnant. So, we couldn't not tell Jamie's best friends whom were over for Poker. So we shared the good news! Everyone was very happy for us. I am so glad!
We also decided that we are going to tell my brother and his girlfriend, as well as my dad's parents. I'll be calling them tomorrow.
Tonight I played 1 game of poker and came in 3rd. It was fun.

Alright, I'm off to bed to knit.

Dish Cloths Galore.

So this is what I've been up to - Dish cloths. I am addicted to making dishclothes. Since this image, I've finished off that last one on my gold sparkly needles. And I'm about to crawl into bed and start my clapotis on my bamboo circs. (Will post pictures after starting it).
So - today, was actually not too bad of a day. No nausea, but boy those trips to the bathroom are starting to get really annoying. It's like I go to the bathroom and then a few minutes later I feel the sensation to have to go again. And so I go - and actually go. What's up with this???
Jamie had baseball tonight, so I took a self night. I did some groceries, and then came home and watched some TV and now will crawl into bed with Clapotis.
Alright, Clapotis time!

Yarn Shopping & Summer Tires

I got a really sweet present from my sister today. It was really nice of her.
This calendar.

This record book. Which is apparently out of print. Can't find it online anywhere, but this crummy image (I'll photograph it better).

I picked up sock yarn for Jamie's socks today while with Angela (after I finally got my summer tires (and rims!) put back on my car.

I also picked up one ball of Regia - I fell in love with colour number 4726 (Columbia) Canadian Colour.

There are a few other canadian colours I want - but in due time I'll eventually get them and knit them up into nice socks. Right now I love: Montreal, Quebec, Manitoba and Calgary (so nice Calgary!) Oh Edmonton is nice too, I love reds/yellows/oranges and Vancouver too! I am totally ADDICTED to sock yarn right now, LOVE IT.

I also bought 4 x 100g balls of Smooth Dk - King Cole - in this colour: (802)

It's gorgeous. And so soft. I think it'll make a gorgeous clapotis. The pattern is by Kate Gilbert - whom I believe is still living in Montreal currently, and I've met at Montreal Knits!

I'm dying for a complete set of Bamboo DPN's. I love my bamboo circulars, and am really happy with this seller on ebay.

I had a nice day with Angela today - we even went into the FANCIEST McDonalds I've ever seen (equipped with computers and video games for kids? What has this world come to?) I've never been into such a "high tech" McDonalds! Anyhow, I filled my craving for a cheeseburger - which is all I've been craving lately - how funny....!

We didn't make it to Mouline - as promised - but we did go to the LYS in Pointe-Claire - forget what it's called - and so we got some yarn shopping in.

Came home - showed the apartment to two people- Patti who ditched me yesterday and to Ms. W, and Patti took an application "in case" - as she needed to talk to her husband, but Ms. W and her mother Mrs. W filled out an application on the spot. They want me to credit check tomorrow and they're intersted in a lease. I got a better vibe from them than the 6 people from Monday. Ms. Wilson is 5 people, but it seems like yes there are kids, but she lives with her mother, so there would be older people as well. So the majority won't be kids running around - like the couple from Monday - which it would be 4 kids from the ages of 5 to 17 running above our heads.

Today was a good day - no nausea - up until now. I'm starting to feel queasy. And I didn't do much this evening besides sit on the couch with Jamie - watch Lost and a bit of Law & Order and knit... Why do I feel like crap?? BLECH! Well, I think that's all for today. More tomorrow!

Self Night

This is the image that we've chosen for the 8x10's that we have included in our wedding package. We will be getting 10 - 8x10's (not all of this picture, but almost 7 of them will be - I think). I ordered another one for myself, and my mom ordered also a different pose. I hope to have them by Friday, so I can frame them and give them to Jamie's mom and step-mom along with their other mother's day presents this weekend.

Today, class was kinda dragging on. On Tuesdays, I only have one class from 12-4pm, and I am starting to feel that 4 hours is a LONG class. I didn't realize that I had to have something finished by today in class, so I got my ass on it, and got it finished. I got my layout approved for a pamphlet I have to do this semester for my montage class (layout) and it's with images and text we were provided with. It's not too creative, but we have freedom with the layout, so that's nice. And the images are quite nice Black & Whites that we have to turn into duotones.

After class, I got stood up for the apartment showing at 7 pm. I am really upset. I finally got intouch with the lady at about 9:30pm and she was like "Oh, so sorry, I totally forgot, I just got in from work, feeding my kids now, etc" She still wants to come, so this woman, Patti, will come tomorrow. At least she's coming back - and I'm not losing out on a potential tenant, you know?

My office is a mess, and I can't stand it. It's starting to really annoy me. I just CANT keep it clean. Mainly it's my desk. Huge huge huge mess. Which sucks. I need to clean up my office majorly, as in a short few months I will be losing my office, and moving my desk - as my office will become the baby's room.

Took a self night tonight. Jamie has some friends over for the hockey game (playoff's) and I've been doing laundry. (Washing the stains out of the hand-me-down baby clothes I got from my sister's friend). I've been doing a great job, and all the clothes are back to almost new! I think my sister's friend needs to learn what STAIN REMOVER is! May do her some good when her daughter starts walking and playing at the park in sand and in the grass..... it may become her best friend. It's already become mine (hubby plays softball).... stain remover = good.

Today was a good day. No nausea and no sickness. Praying for a good day tomorrow too.

Alright. Calling it a night. Going to crawl into bed with Pregnancy for Dummies. (By far the best book I'm reading, besides What to Expect While Expecting).

Dish Cloths Are Fun To Knit

This weekend I started working on these crochet and this knitted dish cloths. I don't really like purple, so these were made for my sister, who is moving out of my parents house around June 1st.

Out of the one ball of sugar 'n cream, I only got these 2 crochet and 1 knitted cloths. The crochet ones, the left one is double crochet and the right hand side one is single crochet (I wanted to try both, to see what came out). These are my first attempt ever at cotton dish cloths, even though I have some, they were given to me as a present (some nice white and blue ones) from my cousin Jenn. I love them and use them in my kitchen, so they're the perfect gift, because they're washable, and reuseable!

I got a package today from Lainie - just like that - out of the blue. She really over did herself. LOVE YOU LAINIE! Here's what I got.

Up close on the yarn, I got some Knit Picks sock yarn(never tried it before, but I'm IN LOVE with the stripped red/yellow/orange). And also, some pink sock yarn by Wildfoote (never hear of it either, but feels sooooo soft! I can't wait to cast on some more socks!

I also got some silver coloured chocolates, (I think that's what it is!) and some shampoo/shower gels, and some body stuff and a soap roll, and some candies - which got eaten before this picture got taken, sorry!
Well, I guess now, I can actually believe that I'm pregnant. I've taken one test on Thursday, May 4th - a "no-name" test from my local pharmacy. I've also taken a First Response test on Friday, May 5th. Now, test 2 by First Response, this morning, again by the company First Response.

Looks like the pink line is stronger than ever - and it's starting to really hit me that I'm actually pregnant.

Today was a long day in school - from 8am - 5:30pm almost. I really hate Mondays. This morning in my photoshop class, I had a really bad case of Nausea.
This evening Jamie and I chilled on the couch watching Sopranos from last week, Sopranos from yesterday, 24 on TV at 9pm, and the only break we took was for me to show the apartment at 7pm. This time, it was to a girl (not much older than me) with her fiance - older than her by double I swear, and she told me they have 4 kids. I'm not so sure I want that many kids running around above my head in the apartment. I'm not sure what to do - because honeslty, I'm starting to get freaked out that I won't find anyone to rent the place. Argh. I will do a credit check on them in the next few days, I just need to find someone who will pay rent. I have another apointment tomorrow night at 7pm. Hopefully I'll find someone soon! I don't need this stress anymore.

Stood Up

I just got in from visiting my parents. (Going to try to get to sleep earlier these days). My pregnant body is doing really weird things to me, and I'm finding myself really tired lately. The week before I left for Vegas, I was taking crazy naps for 2 hours here, 2 hours there, and it was great.

This morning I slept in until 11 am and then leisurely got up. I had something to eat, and then surfed the internet a little bit. After that, I made some phone calls, received some phone calls and made plans to have dinner at my parents house, without Jamie, as he has softball this evening.

As I was about to get into the shower, Jamie came inside and asked me to go to Reno or Rona and pick up a new wheel barrow. Was he kidding me? I was about to hop into the shower and pick up my grandmother. Then in the shower, (after I agreed to pick up my grandmother, go to Rona (as my grandmother needed something from there as well) and then come back, drop off the wheel barrow, then go to my parents house, I remembered that I had to show my apartment upstairs at 3pm.

So, after getting out of the shower, I picked up my grandmother, and went to Rona. Rona does not carry wheel barrows (and have not in a long time) but my grandmother got what she needed. Anyhow, we ran back to my place, as I had to show the apartment, I did not have enough time to go to Reno as well. I had time for 1 stop, and I chose Rona (closer, etc). Anyhow, the wheel barrow that Jamie was using, ended up lasting the rest of the job, so I don't think we need to spend money now on a wheel barrow. The barrow he was using was from 1954, and it belonged to my late grandfather Hymie.

The girl never showed up for her 3pm apointment, and so this time I had her phone number, so I called her to find out where she was. She was still at home, and I was NOT waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up - which she wasn't even sure what time that would be, so I told her she'd have to reschedule. She's supposed to be coming tomorrow night, so we'll see if I get stood up again. I am really stressed about showing the apartment, so I want to find tenants - like yesterday. I am sooo annoyed still that my current tenants can't stay, it's really rediculous.

But, now, I worry that I will not find tenants. Or good tenants anyhow!

Dinner tonight at my parents house was nice, I had a cheese burger (which seems to be my craving at this time). I've had one Friday night, Saturday for lunch and as well today. It was ALL I was craving in Vegas.... very odd craving.

I gave my brother's girlfriend her birthday present, as Wednesday is her 24th birthday. I got her a book (which seemed really cute), 2 candles, a cute little purse, a picture frame and some bath & body stuff that was all "pink" (it's her favourite colour as well).

Speaking of birthdays, I'm a little freaked out about turning 25 next month.

I'm going to try to get to bed EARLY every night, and get a lot of sleep, and try to take as many naps as possible. It's very important that I'm well rested.

I am still trying to get used to the idea that I'm pregnant. If it's not the frequent visits to the bathroom that will do it - I'm not sure what will!

Spilled The Beans

So, between last night and tonight, I've told all of our parents. I told my parents last night while I was at my grandmother's house. My grandmother made a comment to me, (intuition, I swear) and hugged me and hugged me and hugged me! She was sooo excited. So I called my mother from my grandmother's house.
My mother was really happy and said she had a hunch! That made me laugh. Spoke to my dad too, and he said Mazel Tov, but I don't think it's really hit him yet. I'll give him a few days.

Today, we broke the news to Jamie's dad and step-mom first, who are in Vancouver right now, visiting friends. Jamie's dad said he had a hunch as well! Both of our parents had hunches? What's up with this?

We called Jamie's mom and her wife, and they were very happy too.

This evening Jamie & I watched the documentary on Walmart. It was actually VERY interesting.

Well, I'm off to watch this past week's Apprentice in bed with Jamie. Have a good evening.

Spring is Clearly Here

Flowers are in full bloom in front of our house! Aren't they pretty? The previous owner planted them, and we didn't get to really enjoy them last year, as we only got keys to the house on May 18th, and only started officially living here at the beginning of June. (I forget how long tulips last, but I guess we'll see this year! I'm no gardener, so I'm learning).

Just To Make Sure

There was no way, ME, of all people could wait a WHOLE week to do a another test. And since I had a second brand at home, I decided to test the first pee of the morning this morning, day 2 of knowing what's going on.

Two lines. Definitely pregnant! (I hope!) Why would two tests be wrong?

Jamie is excited, but doesnt want to get his hopes up. He's worried that he'll be disapointed incase something happens. I told him not to worry this morning, that I am taking VERY good care of myself, and I will get more sleep and take naps and we'll have a healthy baby. Yesterday I even started taking Folic Acid (Vitamins), but I already eat green leafy vegetables and whole grains, so I'm not that worried. I should have started taking the folic acid a month ago, but I just learned about it.
I've also started reading What to Expect While Expecting, which I've had for about a few months now. I just recently purchased What to Expect the First Year, for a really good price. Can never be too prepared! I'll keep the second book for later on in my pregnancy.
Wow. I can't believe I'm pregnant. I've been giddy for the last 24 hours I'd say. This morning when I saw the results on the First Reponse test (shown above), I literally jumped for joy, with Jamie. Seriously. I kid you not.
I think I'm going to tell just the parents next Sunday on Mother's Day. Haven't decided how I will tell them. I think Mother's Day is a good Day, right
Today, I had class this morning, it went by pretty fast and we were let out early today (first class - we went over a few things, then we got to go home). Now, I'm not really too sure what to do with myself. I probably should take a nap (even though I feel like I got enough sleep last night) and tonight I'm going to help my grandmother with something, and then watch Jamie's 9pm ball game. Softball season starts tonight.
And that's about it! I noticed my tulips are open in the front of my house, I think I'm going to photograph them today as well. I love spring! I'm in a very good mood lately!

And It Makes Three....

Today has been a VERY exciting day.

Slept in this morning, as I didn't have class until 11:30 am. Around 10:15 I finally got out of bed, and made my way to the bathroom. Still have not gotten my period - usually I get it between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. So I decided - why not - let's take a pregnancy test. (I've done two already, one about two or three weeks ago, just to test it out to see how it works, and obviously got a negative result. But I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Then I did another test on Sunday at the airport, one of those "early" pregnancy tests which say you can test as early as 5 days, but it was negative, which is possible I didn't have enough HGC yet). This morning, I get this result right off the bat, within maybe 30 seconds - 45 seconds of the test!

Yes, the first line is lighter than the second line, but the second line is always guaranteed to show up, since it's involved in the pregnant and not pregnant equation. However, there is a line in the "pregnant window":

I read the instructions that came with the box and tests, and CLEARLY states: "One line in the result window and one line in the control window is a positive result and you are pregnant. NOTE that the line can be ANY shade of colour and can be lighter or darker than the line in the picture. The line in the control window (Second line, the line on the right hand side) shows that you performed the test correctly... etc."

Just to be sure, I will take another test in about a week. But this is good news! An addition to our family!

I called my gyno. He won't see me until I've missed 2 periods, so I have an appointment for June 7th (Wednesday) at 9:15 am. I am glad I called today. The secretary actually asked me if I want to keep the baby. I was like "Uhm, of course?!" All confused. What the hell? I guess if I didn't want to keep it - the doctor sees you sooner, so you can "get rid" of it... but not in my case. WE WANT IT!

Before calling the gyno, I called Jamie. He couldn't really say much, because he was in the office (sitting right next to my brother) but I could tell he was really excited. I can't wait to show him the test when he gets home from work!

Then I called my sister and my cousin - I had to call someone! I was sooooooo excited. Then after speaking to Jenn - I called the gyno for an appointment.

I want to tell my parents and his parents - but wouldn't Mother's Day make it a nice present??? I hate keeping it for this long - but mother's day??? (Watch I wont be able to keep it until then!) (I'll probably end up calling tomorrow or something!) I can't ever keep big news a secret!

My friend in my class Laura knows also. We've gotten really close, and she's realized before the end of last semester that my hormones were all messed up and I was acting a little off. So I kinda wanted to tell her the good news. Plus I wanted someone in class to understand. What if I get sick and need to run out of class, etc... you know? Obviously, eventually I'll have to tell my teachers, they may think it's nuts if I constantly have to pee or if I am sick or something! But I am not there yet, so we'll see what happens with that.

Classes today were a little hard to concentrate! Let me tell you. I just was sooo anxious and excited and yeah! In my first class, Illustrator, we have to create a poster for a children's movie, (can be any) and old cartoons are better than the new more 3D animated ones, (for tracing purposes) and we need to create a poster as if the movie was coming out soon to theaters. I didn't want to do any that other people were doing, so I chose to go with (in the end) Donald & Daisy Duck. (That's her name right? Daisy?) I had gone from Mary Poppins (my fave - but she's humand and that's hard to trace) to Shrek (but he's new animation - too dificult for this assignment) to Betty Boop (She's too sexual for kids) to Lady & the Tramp - but then I found this adorable image of Donald Duck and his girlfriend, that I wasnted to do - so I chose a movie title off IMDB called "Donald's Lucky Day" and I'm turning it into a "romance movie" (1939).

For the rest of the class, it was a workshop period, after getting our movie approved by our "client" (our teacher).

Our second class was with Andrea - the teacher we had as a sub for a sub last semester, but she's our actual teacher this semester. I have her again tomorrow. I am not sure if I like her teaching methods, but anyhow. We'll see how this semester goes, now that we know her. Today's called was called Estimation. It's on how to price jobs for bidding against other graphic designers. It's actually very interesting.

Ok - Jamie just got home from work. I'm going to go chill with him and celebrate (sans wine for me!)

... I never in a million years dreamed that it would happen THIS fast for me!

*Glowing*

Montreal Knits

I talked to my cousin Jenn earlier today about knitting stuff, my trip and was trying to figure out what time to meet her tonight, etc... and in our knitting conversation we started talking about shrugs. I really wanted a wrap around one, but I think a regular shrug would be easier, to start with.

I found this online - free pattern - but I've already gotten married, so I have no use for this: The I Do Shrug. Maybe others would have use for this?

I am thinking about making this Shrug Recipe.

I showed my upstairs apartment to two people today, one to a girl name Karen, who may come back tomorrow night with her husband to see the place, and another time to two students, who will be sharing it with two other guys, I asked their ages, and they're 19, 20, 25, and 32. Wow, what a range! They said they were interested, filled out an application, and will get back to me tomorrow if they're still interested.

I JUST WANT TO FIND TENANTS ALREADY! The search is hell!

This afternoon I did chores, I ACTUALLY FINALLY VACCUMED the three carpeted rooms in my house (I've been saying for a few weeks now that I'd get around the do it - well - it was about time, let's just say you can't see cat hair on my office carpet anymore - it's all gone!! LOL Spick and span!) To be honest I've truly meant to do it - I've even taken out the vaccum cleaner to do it - but it's the one chore I hate, as I have a really old vaccum cleaner, so maybe if I get a new one soon, that'll change. After finishing, and getting all the cat hair along the stairs to the basement, plus cleaning up the cat hair on all the hard wood floors in our place, the upstairs smelled like burnt rubber. I really think there is something wrong with the vaccum, hence why I'd love a new one. Thank goodness the smell has gone since I've been out of the house this evening. Did not go to the gym tonight, but vaccuming counts as exercise, right?

I went knitting tonight with Montreal Knits. My cousin Jenn joined me - I picked her up from work, since her fiance Yannick was coming, too, to work on the blankie he promised Jenn, but of course, being a man, was running late. We had a good time this evening, and I sat next to Deawn, who is friggin hysterical.

I finished knitting my first sock for the Socketta yarn. I still need to close the toes on my first pair of socks ever, but now that I know how to calculate where to end it - it'll be a piece of cake. Here is the progress on the sock. Now I have to figure out grafting, and then I can start sock number two! I can't wait to actually have a pair of FINISHED socks!

It's a little bit of an awkward view, I really wanted to show it from it's side, but because the needles are still in (I need to just graft to close it) I couldn't lay it that way, since the needles wouldn't go that way. So I'll take a picture again after grafting it. :) It's looking sharp though, I love it!
I'm home now. Want to go to sleep though. I'm ZONKED. I'm going to see if my tape taped LOST (if it was on tonight?) and hit the hay early. I do have a class tomorrow at 11:30 am, and that still requires me getting up early enough - around 9:30 am. Apparently my body lately has been really tired. Could be lack of sleep. That could do it.

Go, Habs, Go

Tonight I went to see the Habs play Game #6 with my brother. Unfortunately they got beat. It was a REALLY good game though. They played really well. It was 1-1 through the entire game pretty much after the first period, and they scored (shittily) in overtime. However, it was a good game, and I really enjoyed myself.
Since I was wearing my jersey, anyone wearing one tonight, got a free prize. It was a signed (not original though) towel, we got to chose from Huet (our goalie) or Kovalev. I chose Huet's towel. We were also given a free towel upon enterering the bell center tonight, as they told us to swing them in the air and it was really cool when the entire 21 276 ticket holders were doing it at the same time. I didn't want to take the chance of my camera being confiscated, so I didn't even bring it.
At the end of the game, after losing, this guy, who has season tickets next to us, whom Jamie knows through people, not sure if it's through baseball or hockey, or something, but this guy Steve, has been a complete loser the entire season. Cursing really loudly at the players, banging his hand on the railing in front of us (there are about 10 dents in it now) and games that he goes with his wife, she's embarrased to go with him, I think. She wasn't there tonight with him.
Anyhow, at the end of the game, this guy, Steve, picks up his umbrella, starts swearing about Montreal Canadien player Surray, and hits his umbrella several times on the railing infront of us (we were the front row of the top section). The umbrella broke in half, and went sailing down, falling between two people, almost poking someone's eye out. What a loser this guy is.
Anyhow, the girl that the umbrella almost hit, wanted to start a fight, but she thought it was someone else who through the umbrella down, since Steve took off right away after realizing what he did.
BUT - I knew his full name, and told the security guard the shit he's done in the past, and that all the dents in the building were made by him. I said it shouldn't be hard to find him, since he has season tickets. Gave his name, and felt better about that.
I had a really good time hanging out with my brother too. I am his favourite sister now, since I made dinner for him tonight too. What a nice sister I am! I don't get to hang out much with my brother, so this was nice.

SP8 Questionnaire Answers

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? I am currently addicted to sock yarn. I don't mind any kind of yarn, but I'm not a fan of ribbon, or that fuzzy yarn grandmothers knit with. (when I find the name of it - I'll include it here)

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? Some are in wood boxes, some are in a needle roll that I got a Walmart, but I have a ton of knitting needles that are currently not in anything, need to organize them soon. Keep procrastinating.

3. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?

I consider myself to be an intermediate knitter. I’ve been knitting since about mid-Novermber 2005. I tried knitting once when I was about 9 years old, an old non-live-in babysitter/housekeeper Irene taught me to knit. She was later fired for stealing from my parents. Then, my friend Faye got me knitting needles and some really expensive yarn for my birthday in June of 2004, while in my 2nd year of professional photography school. I knitted a garter ridge scarf (only knew knit stitch back then, didn’t know how to purl yet) and then put down knitting until November 2005, when I started working on a scarf in chenille (yick!) yarn for my mother-in-law. That yarn got so gross to knit with, that I won’t ever knit with chenille yarn again, and that scarf died. That’s when my sister-in-law introduced me to crochet (or her version of crochet anyhow!) and I didn’t touch any knitting for another month and a half until January 2006. That’s my knitting history for you in a nutshell!

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? Not at the moment. Check back later if I start one. Maybe I should.

5. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.) Peach, Vanilla, Watermelon.

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? No sweet tooth, but I love gum. I am trying to stick to the G.I. Diet - which allows no sugar.

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? I crochet, scrapbook a little, collage, journal, do photography. (I do not spin). I want to start using my sewing machine more.

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I hate rap, country. I like any other kind of music. MP3's my computer should play, but my stereo only plays regular music mixes. I love music mixes.

9. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand? Fave colour - Pink. Runners up: Blue, Yellow, Red (Primary Colours). I HATE HATE HATE Purple. No purple please. I like knitting though in blacks, grey's, neutrals, beiges, browns, greens, etc. I tend to wear a lot of neutral, earth tone colours.

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? I am a newlywed (got married in September) so I live with my hubby and we have 2 cats.

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos? In the winter I wear hats, mittens or gloves and scarves. Don't really do the poncho thing.

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? Currently that would be socks.

13. What are you knitting right now? Socks. (2 pairs actually).

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts? Sure!

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? I have mostly aluminum, and only a few plastics. I own bamboo circs in every size available. I wouldn't mind getting a set of bamboo DPN's - have been looking into a seller on ebay that I bought my bamboo circ's from - he sells the entire set of bamboo DPN's - in every size for very cheap. And they come 5 needles instead of 4!

16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? I own the Royal Ball Winder. No swift.

17. How did you learn to knit? I don't remember how I learned to knit when I was 9-10. But recently, my cousin Jenn has been helping me out, as well as the Montreal Knits.

18. How old is your oldest UFO? A few months, that's it.

19. What is your favorite holiday? Don't really have one.

20. Is there anything that you collect? Besides books and knitting accessories and YARN, nothing really. Oh, I do have an elephant statue collection.

21. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? I don't have a knitting mag subscription, but I like reading Knit 1, Vogue Knitting, etc. Any books - nothing that I can think of at the moment, besides One Skein.

22. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? Of course, I'm wanting to make a sweater for my next big project.

23. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? I am! I'm a size 8 women's shoe.

24. When is your birthday? (mm/dd) June 16th.
