musicclass1Q
Today Quentin and I had our first class together. We signed up for a music class in an acquaintances home. I've known the girl for years, but am not close with her. She actually bought the house across the street from my parents house (a house my parents tried to convince me to buy when it was on the market - but I am not moving until the kids move out - and it's a little too "Everybody Loves Raymond" for me to live across the street from where I grew up).

Qmusicclass1
Quentin stayed wide awake the entire time at music.

stationary

After music I ran into the city hunting down a package that one of Jamie's cousins mailed to our old address (that we hadn't lived at in over 3 years now). Luckily it was hunted down at the post office near my old place, and the girls there saw our name and hung on to it, as they remembered me from all the mailings I used to do from that location when I lived around the corner. (They saw me almost on a daily basis when I had my online yarn shop running). We're super happy they kept it and didn't send it back to the USA after what Jamie's cousin spent on shipping for it. It is this really cute stationery set. I love it. The large white pad has our names all around it - and the other 4 blue pads say stuff like "From the Parents of: Sean, Mackenzie & Quentin"... in 4 different styles. Its from this online shop. I have been browsing online, they have some awesome gift items.

seanbingo

This evening after dinner (which my in-laws were over for), we played a family game of Bingo. Jamie used to work for an educational toy company and this game was one of the samples he had. It was a great game for ages 2-4 (Mack & Sean's ages) to play. We actually had a lot of fun.

bingomack

Too bad daddy (Jamie) kept getting the good bingo cards and won every game.

Qpuppy101

And Quentin slept through the fun with this little dog. I got him this one, like Sean has his Nunu and Mack has his bunny. And just like there are 3 bunny's and 3 nunu's (two for rotation at home and one that stays at daycare all week for nap time I have extra dog ones for Quentin. Not sure what to name it though. Sean named his Nunu and Mack's is just "Bunny"... Quentin's is an actual dalmatian from the 101 Dalmatians movie. Anyone have a good name for it? Looking for something catchy!

1.11.11 :: 210 weeks & 6 weeks

210wksS

Sean is 210 weeks old today.

6wksQ

Quentin is 6 weeks told today.

psst
This morning I had to run into Quentin's room to make sure he was still alive/breathing. He was still breathing perfectly fine. I woke up startled because he went to bed at just after midnight last night. It was 8:21 am when I ran into his room. Is he going to break Sean's record of sleeping through the night? (Sean started at 9 weeks old and Quentin is 6 weeks old today. My 2nd Mackenzie, on the other hand, took a few months before he started to sleep through the night). I got 8 hours of sleep. UNINTERRUPTED!! I feel like a new person. Keep it up Baby Q. He actually woke up just after 11 am. I couldn't believe it. I went into his room a few times to make sure he was indeed breathing/alive. I'm crossing my fingers he sleeps through the night again tonight. I can hope, right?

wubbanub

Quentin got his Wubbanub in the mail today.

wubbanub1

He loves it.
And I just think it's super cute.

scrapsbox

Today I was on a rampage. I guess that's what getting 8 hours of sleep in a row will do to a mother? I cleaned, organized, re-arranged. If I didn't just have a baby, you'd think I was nesting. I organized my sewing scraps in a box (above), re-organized the linen closet (it's beyond neat right now - let's see how long it lasts), I re-organized the crawl space under our stairs in the basement (things had just gotten shoved in there as of lately), I did laundry (though it needs to be folded and put away), I cleaned up the den, the playroom (organized toys by type in each bin - like kitchen stuff in one bin, cars in another, etc). I was on a roll. I like that I got a lot accomplished. Quentin was really good about me getting that stuff done as well.

Qguild

This evening I got to get out of the house for a little bit (with Quentin) for January's Montreal Knitting Guild Meeting. I really wasn't interested in the subject that was being lectured (Weaving) but I went to see some friends and get out of the house (and start a new knitting project - details tomorrow). I had to be home early though, so I just went for a little bit. Jamie's hockey got switched from tomorrow night to tonight, so we compromised a time for me to be home so that we both could go out for a bit.

Posted my silly Mack to Project 365 today.

Today is 1-11-11. Love the date.

august ten

I woke up with a runny nose today. I really feel blah. Sean asked me tonight why I was blowing my nose a lot. I told him my nose was running. He told me to go run after it. Silly kid, that's an old one! But I let him think he was funny anyhow.

Sean went to daycare today. After having him home almost all last week from daycare, it was nice for him to go again. He missed his friends. He missed his teachers. He was asking to go back. I needed him to go back as well. I did work all day from home, and Mack is such a good baby that he allows me to do so. Though, I'll be more efficient with my work once he is in daycare, which is now less than a month away. Three weeks tomorrow. Tuesday, September 1st he starts.

My cutie dumped out the toys from the green bin to sit in it.

And then somehow he managed to fit into this wicker basket. The wicker basket has been holding toys. Mack dumped out the toys and squeezed himself into it. Too darn cute. And look at this smile on his face. He's so proud of himself for accomplishing his goal!

I ordered in lunch today from a place we usually order from. I ordered a grilled chicken chef's salad. I was engrossed in my work and didn't want to take a break to make myself anything. (Ok, I'll face it, I was too lazy to go into the kitchen). I couldn't understand why it took over an hour to get to me. Never had it take that long from this restaurant before. Then, when trying to pay by card in his machine at the door, the thing doesn't work. After about 10 tries, we finally got it to work. If I would have had cash on me, I would have given that to him as payment, as I was that hungry. But I didn't. And he wasn't leaving with my food either.

Tonight for dinner we ended up ordering from the same place I ordered my lunch from (I didn't care) and I ended up having the same exact thing for dinner that I had for lunch. (I didn't mind). It was rather delicious. A nice huge chef's salad with grilled chicken. Yum. Got faster service/delivery at dinner.

Tonight we chilled and watched some TV. Tonight's line up was Nurse Jackie & Weeds. We also watched Season 1 Episode 1 of Hung. Interesting show. I'll give it another few episodes to see if I like it enough to keep watching it. Jamie had heard about Hung from someone and we said we'd give it a shot. I folded the laundry that I did today (trying to stay on top of the laundry these days, which is getting better than my usual procrastination with the laundry) and then when that was done I worked on my Clapotis. I'm almost done the body and almost at the decrease section. Getting there! I'll take a progress shot shortly.

february twenty-nine: 61 weeks

This morning I had a 10 a.m. appointment to get my hair fixed. AND. I. JUST. LOVE. IT.

I should have gone to my friend in the first place, she totally would have given me what I wanted. I'm loving my new style, and it will be great to maintain. (Jamie thinks it's just a *tad* too short, but he got over it already). And my hair actually has style now!

Sean is 61 weeks old today. And he loves his new Junior Dust Buster. Yes, it actually picks up dirt. He went around our den cleaning the carpets. Which is good, because he usually gets goldfish crumbs all over the den. (Look at my new 'do - isn't it just great??!) (I feel great with it!)

Sean ate a cereal bar in the car (he loves the apple cinnamon one by Heinz). It was all over his face. After finishing the bar, he passed out. He looked so cute, I had to take a picture, of course.

Today while at Winners with my mother, I found this AWESOME On The Go Lounger. I can't begin to tell you how awesome it is. You know how many times this would have come in handy with Sean? So many times we went somewhere and I needed "somewhere" to put him down before he could sit up and be on his own, and didn't want to take the Bumbo or his Bouncer chair with me? (Neither of which were easily transportable!) This On The Go Lounger is absolutely fantastic. It folds up like a camping chair does and goes into the tiny little bag that you can carry on your shoulder! (Holds babies up to 22 lbs). (Basically I'd use it until the baby can sit on his own, and doesn't need to be in a chair anymore). I can't wait for baby boy number 2 to come so that I can use it! (Actually there are a few things that I got for baby boy number 2 that I'm excited to use!)

Today I got up to row 39 of 114 on the Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman. I'm really enjoying knitting it up - and it gives me a tiny break on the Blankie Project. But don't get me wrong, I have many squares to go on the Blankie, and will be picking it up shortly.

Tomorrow is March 1st. March will be the month I start my "Slow Month". I will stop shopping for 1 month. (Food, medical attention/medication, and business expenses are allowed, as well as any regular bills for the month (heat/phone line/electricity, etc). Though, for food, I will NOT be going crazy, and I will absolutely try to use what I have first, before going out to the grocery store. I will be announcing my 1000 post contest tomorrow on my blog as well. So stay tuned for the details. Are you doing a "Slow Month" as well? If you are - let me know - and if you want to - join me in this challenge! This month I will be tackling a bunch of things around the house that need attention (like unpacking the last 3 boxes in my office, and catching up on a few movies on my PVR) instead of shopping! Join me, will you?

Don't forget that March's Sock Club is on sale until the end of the weekend - and Cascade Yarns are on sale until until the end of tonight, February 29th at 20% off. If you missed my post yesterday, I have some great new products up in the shop, in my Notions Section - go on - check it out!

ps- Does anyone have the Fall 2004 Interweave Knits? If so, please let me know!

february twenty-one

I got some great mail today - a final package from Catherine! Thank you Catherine, I love everything. I will sit down this weekend and check out your blog. She sent me some Cherry Tree Hill Sock Yarn - which was on my list of yarns to try! The colorway is Pickled Juice - very appropriate to it's color! I got some booties for the new baby, that are crochet (I'm assuming handmade by Catherine?) Also, a baby blanket for the new baby. The red dog is for Sean, and he loves it already. I got a neat notebook (I love notebooks), and a needle inventory set as well as some vintage baby patterns. Some Tea and some lotions. I love everything! Thanks a million!

The other day I found this at Walmart. It's a Frog Holder for Shampoo & Body Wash for Sean's bathtime. It's great. And Adorable. One of the cutest purchases I've made in a while!

Tonight I went with Jamie to the Habs game. It was a GREAT game even though we lost in the end. It was just a really well played game. Of course I got some knitting done, I worked on Sean's blankie.

I've uploaded some DPN holders into the shop. Aren't they great?? They are available for 5 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch DPNs. They come either with white or silver cord & aren't they just cute? They make great gifts!

Sean's sleeping at my parents house tonight & I'm sleeping in tomorrow! I am positive there was a bunch of other things I wanted to talk about today - but I am just simply zonked. Tomorrow after I pick up Sean I'm doing some errands with my mother for the afternoon.

Almost every. last. piece. of laundry is done. By tomorrow I should be laundry free for about at least week. That would be nice.

february twenty

Sean cried off and on, sorry, let me rephrase that, Sean SCREAMED off and on from 4 am until almost 5 am this morning. Around 5 pm he finally fell back asleep, and I just had to let him cry. I was bad over the weekend for letting him come into our bed in the first place, it screwed up his routine. And I know, when he screamed - that's what he wanted. I wasn't giving in. (And when I checked his diaper this morning, I knew that I made the right decision - he wasn't sitting in anything - so it wasn't a diaper change he wanted).

This morning we had our music/gym class, and afterwards I had to run home as I forgot to take our swimming bag upon leaving the house this morning (pregnancy brain). This morning in the music part of our class, Sean was being a bully. He's the only walking kid in the class, and he kept walking over to different kids and taking the instrument they were playing with. I'm not really happy about this - but what can I do? The other moms find it funny - but I certainly don't. Sean just doesn't understand yet that he can't do that. And the word "NO" doesn't mean anything right now, because when you say it - Sean actually shakes his head NO! He just started doing this yesterday, and it's going to drive me mad if it continues. I'm sorry - but the first time it was cute, but not anymore. It will get old fast (for me).

This afternoon I met up with Angela, we had lunch (I was craving hot dogs with ketchup & onions) and then we came back to my house. We hung out, watched Oprah, surfed the web, and were supposed to knit - but didn't. LOL.
Mid afternoon we ran out to Walmart. I think I should own shares in the baby department or something. I picked up a few shirts for myself, I need to try them on to see if they fit. (I don't try things on the store anymore because a) Sean doesn't allow me to and b) I can get a better idea of how it looks like on me in my own mirror, than the mirrors at the store. I always take home to try. I prefer doing it at home. I like some of the maternity stuff that Walmart has. I hope some of it fits!

I think the boys will one day kill me, but I got them matching outfits. (Sorry boys!) I thought they were super cute. And of course they will have to wear them at the same time. I also have matching sleepers (pjs) that I can't wait for them both to fit into! Aww, so cute.

I received the yarn for the February Sock club, (which went out in the mail already), and Tammy, who dyed the yarn & designed the pattern for the February Sock club sent me a skein of her 3ply Chaos from her Etsy shop (this skein is not the sock club yarn - but another colorway from her shop). It's gorgeous! Stunning. I love the colorway (white, pink, purple & black). Thank you Tammy for the nice gift!

I also received my prize from Erin's contest. I won a lace book & yarn. She also sent me a notebook & some pretty stitch markers. Thank you so much Erin - I love it all. I can't wait to start knitting lace!

In the mail, I also got a pattern from Nadine that she got me at her local LYS, and she also sent me a book for Sean as well a mouse finger puppet. Totally cute. Thank you so much Nadine.

I saw this link from Drea's blog, and it's the coolest thing ever. Have fun!

This evening I went knitting with the NDG Montreal Knits group and at one point were were a FULL house! I think we were about 15-16 or so knitters. Maybe even more! (I forgot to officially count heads, but it was somewhere around there). What a great turn-out! I cast on for the other panel on Sean's Cabled Pull-Over and got the stockinette done for the beginning of it. I will start the pattern tomorrow. I must get it done, he's in 18 month size now, and the size of the sweater I'm making is 18 month size. Worse comes to worse, I do have another boy who will eventually wear 18 month size, but the sweater is for Sean...!

I am very excited to stay in tomorrow and in the morning we have the cleaning lady coming (much needed since I didn't have her come this past week). I am supposed to wait home all day (between 9-5pm) for Staples to show up with a delivery, but I'm hoping they come earlier rather than later because I have an errand to run in the afternoon. Tomorrow night Jamie & I are dropping Sean off (for the entire night!) at my parents house, and heading off to the hockey game. I am very excited to sleep in (no baby!) on Friday morning. Friday my mom & I are going to wak around an indoor mall to get out of the house for the late morning/afternoon.

In Robyn's Nest news - I have re-stocked all 4 of the Shawl Sticks in the shop. They arrived in the mail late yesterday. I just love them and wish I had a shawl already to wear them on! In Sock club news - February's Sock Club Kit has been mailed - if you ordered one, check your mailbox soon! And if you have not yet, please go and sign up for the March sock club! My best friend Angela is designing the pattern (YEY ANGELA!) and the handpainter is none other than Shelby of Shelby B's on Etsy, who just had her baby boy yesterday! 6 lbs and adorable! You have until next Friday to sign up. (I can't believe that February ends next Friday!)

I am sure there was other stuff I wanted to say, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I can barely keep my eyes open....

WubbaNubs

I'd love to win a WubbaNub for Sean, so I'm entering Drea's contest! Thanks Drea for hosting this contest! She's a mommy blog I read!

Taco Bell Opens in Quebec!! (Oh and Mary got Opal!)

So now I'm going through a phase where I'm not sleeping in. I just can't sleep in anymore. Jamie leaves for work, and poof - I'm up! No alarm - nothing. Just wide-awakeness!

Today I loaded up my images and posted in my Etsy Shop. I'm now online. Once I've finished all the tons and tons of stitch markers that are in progress, I think I may offer to Secret Pal 9, that I've got stitch markers for sale, and I can mail them directly to their secret pals. Maybe some of my stuff will sell - that would be really cool. Hopefully over the next couple of days I'll finish everything up (beading) and get those on track.

Just MINUTES after posting my sales, Marga bought my Firefly Stitch Markers. Thanks Marga! They're already in the mail to you! Enjoy! (And I even added in a little something extra for her!) I'll be making more Firefly Stitch Markers incase anyone is interested.

I was browsing Etsy today, and came across this: (So simple to make, and kinda funny actually!)

Sean will be giving Nana & Zayda (Zayda is yiddish for Grandpa) this above gift for the holidays. It's now wrapped, but I wanted to photograph it before it went into the bag. It's a poker picture frame, with his picture in it. I thought it was really cute. Jamie's dad and step-mom are HUGE texas hold'em players.... I thought it was appropriate!

Guess what???????????? The FIRST EVER Taco Bell is now open in Quebec. Now I don't have to go to Ottawa, Ontario or Plattsburgh, New York for Taco Bell. They opened up minutes from my parents house - (like 20 minutes without traffic from my house). Oh, I think I'm having a taco craving. I kid you not. I believe they opened yesterday. They are in alliance with KFC (or rather PFK in Quebec!)

I finally took Sean's Lobster out of the packaging today. This Lobster, is a laundry basket or toy basket. It'll be a toy basket for him to keep his toys in, to play with in our basement. Isn't it just ADORABLE????

In other news before I talk about going to our local Stitch 'N Bitch tonight, I went back again to my local police station, AFTER CALLING THIS TIME - to make sure there was someone there trained to install a newborn carrier into my car. The guy who answered the phone said that there was. I said I would be by shortly. I think I was there like 45 minutes later, and yet again, like yesterday, I JUST MISSED the person or people who are trained to install the seat. Now, I probably could read the instructions and do it myself, but - there is NO wiggle room with those, and well - with my belly - there is no room for me to do it! And to be honest, I'd rather the police station to do it - not my procrastinating hubby.... (he's said a couple of times he'd do it, and well - hasn't!) I was told someone should be there between 11 am - 1pm tomorrow and I will call and RESERVE the person before going in. The station - is LITERALLY around the corner from my house. I kid you not. THAT close!

Today, I discovered what a REALLY BAD period cramp must feel like. I've never had a really bad one, (just mild), but I had a contraction while in the parking lot of the post office around the corner from my house (had a few things to mail out for Jamie) and well - it was awful - but I did some breathing, and then it passed. I think it lasted almost a minute. It was this awful pain, and my uterus got really really really hard. Harder than I've ever felt it go. So - I guess they're starting! But they're not regular at all - and not all as bad. I think I've had a few today, but nothing to start me into labor, not yet anyhow!

This afternoon I beaded a bit more, and I started working on a secret knitting project (I'll reveal it once done - it'll be a quick knit). I'll give all the details afterwards.

Tonight, I had a good time at the Montreal Knits Meetup (SNB). We were a nice little crowd. (Angela, Alison P, Peggy, Jennie E., Deawn, Kadi & Mary showed up for a few minutes with some goodies! More about that below). It was Alison's first meeting, and she had a really good time, especially since she drove all the way into town from Terrebonne in traffic nonetheless!!!

These Teething Pain Relievers are from Deawn. She brought them to me for Sean, for when he's teething and is crying. You give him one dose, and apparently it's supposed to let the baby stop crying. Anyhow, she got them for free from Pharmaprix near her, so I told her to grab a few more boxes for me!

This is a picture of Deawn taking a picture of me taking a picture. Do you follow? It was funny.

Jamie asked me for 8 inches in his sock before I turned the heel. Finally - I've knit 8 inches of sock number one, and I'll add a few more to my sock, before turning the heels on both. I do not want my socks to be 8 inches tall - because USUALLY - I only wear ankle socks (tennis socks). But for some reason, this pregnancy has allowed me to want to knit a pair of socks a little bit longer than just ankle socks. So mine will be maybe half of Jamie's length - so let's say 4 inches or so for mine. I'll be working on mine tomorrow, so I will post some pictures. Tomorrow, I have nothing going on - but some more chores, so I hope to watch a movie or something, relax and get some knitting done! And maybe some more in that Cross Stitch for my mother. I also have a sock monkey that I want to make for Sean.

So, Mary (who lives just above the coffee shop - lucky girl!), stopped by our Stitch 'N Bitch tonight, as the Opal yarn I INSISTED her brand new company (Online Yarn Shop - called Ariadne Knits) HAD to order! Ariadne was supposed to get online tonight, but it has not yet been uploaded. Maybe tomorrow??? Anyhow, I was telling Mary that I have been eyeing two different colorways from Opal's Rainforest Collection, and she was able to get both! However, she was only able to get it in 6 ply (which is a good thing, because it'll make for a more durable sock), and not in 4 ply - which is what I'm used to knitting with for sock yarn. So without any more delay - I present to you - my 2 new fave balls of yarn:

Above - Opal Rain Forest Flamingo!

And Opal Rain Forest Ladybug.

Now, to be honest, I find that 18.60$ is a LOT for a ball of yarn (cost me 38$ for both with my 10% off Montreal Knits Discount) (Thank goodness for Paypal payments for their online shop, so I could pay for it by Visa! Hee hee!) But still - that's a lot for a sock yarn. That's why I only bought 1 ball of each - lol... I can't wait to finish my married socks, and my mother-in-law's birthday purse (which I should get cracking on - her birthday is Saturday - thank goodness I have some lee-way time - as they're going to be in Toronto from Friday morning - Wednesday or Thursday for Xmas - so I have some extra knitting time) and then I have a scarf I want to knit for myself - my secret project to finish knitting - and then perhaps another pair of socks with my new yarn!

My good friend Lainie, in California, sent me this picture of her at Starbucks today with her daughter. It's such a sweet picture, and I love it. I can't wait to have my own son to kiss and hug and give my heart to! I'm sure he'll win my heart the instant he's born. I have no doubt about it. Something about this image of Lainie and her daughter, just made me want to cry (tears of love and laughter of course!)

Isn't it just precious?

And with that... I bid you a good night and sweet dreams.

Houston We Have a Completed Baby's Room!

Slept in a little bit today, but got up still early enough. I watched a little bit of Sopranos in bed, and worked on my crochet kippahs (which apparently, my husband doesn't like the colors of! - but that's a whole other story). Just a little while later, the doorbell rang, with my delivery of Sean's crib!

Houston, the baby's room is complete!

Here is a view of the bookshelf I set up for Sean, with all his book! He's got quite the library already!

It's amazing how much the room feels complete now with the crib. Everything else has been in place for a few weeks now, and well, all it took was the crib for it to actually look like a baby's room. Yes, there are other things in the room that make it a "baby's room" - but it really took the crib! The basinette that we got is in place in our bedroom already, (with a "fly" net over it so the cats don't jump into it).

This afternoon I finished watching Season 1 of the Sopranos. Onto Season 2 now!

I'm starting to be in a lot of pain. My back is killing me. My pelvic area is sore from Sean's head moving around and pressing down. I don't think I look like he's lowered himself, but I can't really tell since I see myself every day. I guess I would need someone who doesn't see me every day to tell me. Yesterday I was feeling icky and gross, so I didn't take my 35 week photos yet, but I will either tonight or tomorrow. I can tell you though, that he's stretched my belly some more, because I've grown another inch at the waist (I'm measuring myself weekly, to track my belly growth from navel to navel). I'm really uncomfortable, and it's "that time"... "that time" to me means, that I'm ready for Sean to be born, and move on with life as a mother! I'm ready to sleep on my stomach again, and fit back into MY clothes! Sean - your mother is ready to meet you! Also - I'm not enjoying the in and out of bed 4-5 times per night. They weren't kidding when they said it was a few times per night... I think the amount of times I pee - is a little excessive - and I could do without!

My in-law's came over for dinner tonight, before playing poker, (our regular Friday night poker game) and brought over a cd burned with pictures from my nephew's 4th birthday party, when we were in Beauce, Quebec. I hadn't seen any of his photographs yet from that weekend that my FIL took, and loved this one. (Auntie Robyn is an instigator! She started the purple cake on Merlyn's nose, and then he put some on me, and then put more on himself! LOL)

Oh- GOOD NEWS! I called my doctor's office this morning upon getting up and asked about my results from the Glucose test. I DO NOT have Gestational Diabetes, though, my sugar levels are still a little high. I should stilll watch my sugar intake, but I shouldn't worry. With only 5 weeks left until my due date, I shouldn't worry about getting GD now. Phew! What a relief! (Knock on wood - this has been the easiest pregnancy ever - no morning sickness ever - no complications medical wise.... maybe this means I'll have a quick and easy delivery and a baby that sleeps and doesn't cry too much? So, a girl can dream - right??!)

Alright, going to crawl into bed, played one game of poker tonight, (lost) (Jamie won game two!) but my back is now killing me due to sitting too long at the dinning room table, and I must go try and get comfy.

YARN HARLOT!

Today I did some tidying in the baby's room, and we now have a successful changing table station. Tigger is keeping the changing pad (which has a nice fitted sheet on it) warm, until Sean decides to make an appearance in this world:

Here is proof that 94 baby wash cloths might just be a little too many... but I plan on using these with water to keep Sean clean rather than wasting away wipes... so... they may actually come in handy, so that I don't have to be doing laundry every day! We'll see how it goes.

Something I don't look forward to with having a baby. Click here if you can stomach it. Yes, my friends, that's poop. I was blog surfing, and that's someone's kid - in a swing, and the kid pooped on themselves. Lovely, eh?

Today, after packing, cleaning my car, and doing a million chores.... I met up with my cousin Jennifer and we headed downtown to McGill to listen to and meet the Yarn Harlot!

Here is my shot of the room full of Harlot fans!

Just before Stephanie was introduced, she was standing RIGHT in front of me, so I took this opportunity to snap a shot of her wearing her wedding shawl.

Here is a shot of Stephanie taking her famous sock picture with a room full of Montreal Knitters!

Here is a bad shot (sorry, my hand was WAY TOO close to the flash), of me knitting during the talk.

Here is Stephanie showing off a beaded sock that she is working on for a gift for her sister or sister-in-law, for Xmas.

And here, lovely Stephanie is autographing 1 of her 3 books that I brought with me to have signed. She totally didn't mind signing them all!

And a lovely picture of Stephanie & I!

And here is a picture of Stephanie with Jennifer. Stephanie was totally amazed by Jennifer's bowling sock!

And here is a picture of Jennifer & I, after the event, just before having to run off, since I'm leaving to Beauce any minute now. Jamie said if we're not on the road by 8pm latest, we're not going. I better go pee before he kills me and doesn't allow me to stop to go to the bathroom! LOL.

Stephanie was hysterical - and I was really impressed that she had all of our attention for almost an hour (when we were told that it was only going to be about a half hour talk), I was really happy that we got to listen to her for the amount of time we did. I am now dying to read all three of her books - I just got them, so I haven't had time yet to read them, but I will start one this weekend - that's for sure! I'll probably read them in order. There was a TON of us Montreal Knits there, as well as Knitting Guild Members, and members of the McGill knitting club. Some women brought their husbands and boyfriends or significant others, and some people whom I expected to see there - I didn't. (Anny - I didn't see you!) I was sooo glad that I arranged to go out of town later, so that I could attend meeting the Yarn Harlot herself! What a trip!

Ps- Some Yarn Harlot footage coming shortly. (No time to upload video before going away for the weekend - Sorry!)
