Other Crafting

I have been doing some other crafts around here. A few things that I'd like to show you, mainly random things, actually.

pantsfixed

I had bought some patches from Fabricville to fix 2 pairs of the boys pants. They were iron on. However, when I tried to iron them on, it didn't work so well. So I borrowed some Heat-n-Bond from a friend of mine, and voila... it worked ironing it on the 2nd time. I think I might have to get my hands on some of this Heat-n-bond stuff - it's quite handy.

mackspillow

Next up, when Sean brought his Habs pillow to school for "nap time" (he doesn't nap anymore, but is require to lie on his mat from 1-2pm and then gets to go from 2-3pm to non-nappers), Mack requested one too - for a more comfortable nap time. So I whipped him up one too, and he loves it!

MyaFrame

Lastly, since the recipient received these today, I'd like to show you these name frames that I made a pregnant friend for her daughter. The colors weren't my first choice, but I had to work with the blocks that came in the set. I still like the way it came out, and I hope my friend does too. I love creating fun & unique gifts. I gave these alone with the first Girl Cap that I knit just a few weeks ago.

I have a few other projects up my sleeves, but I think that some of the recipients may read my blog, so I will keep those secret until the gifts have been given! Stay tuned!

Fabric

2dollarroll

So, as promised, this is the fabric roll (8 fat quarters) that I got for 2$ in Boston. The price tag read 10$, on sale from 10.97$ (Not that big of a sale to begin with) But when I looked at my bill when I got to the car (I bought other stuff, so I didn't notice the price until after) I was only charged 2$. I wish I would have realized, I might have bought more fabric! Not sure what I'll make yet with these fat quarters, but it will get used.

purchasedroll

This is the 2nd roll I bought, another 8 fat quarters.

favesfrompile

From this roll, the stripes and the squares ones (2 middle fabrics) are my fave. I'm not entirely a fan of the "animal print" one on the right, but I am sure I can use it to make someone else something.

formysteryquilt

Right now, these are the 6 fat quarters I chose (the green on the right is not actually a fat quarter, it was from my stash of fabric (yes, I have a stash of fabric as well as yarn!) and I am not sure about the floral green one next to the tonal green one (far right), so I will be going fabric shopping this week, as I have to get background material as well. I started a class recently, (will tell you more about that soon), and this is for the mystery project we're doing. I'm super excited.

bottleholder3rd

I finally finished another bottle holder for Quentin. This is his 3rd. I need to make an adjustment on the elastic on top, to better hold the bottle in place, but it's usable for now, until I get around to doing that. I now have one for my diaper bag, one for the kitchen (where he uses it if I'm baking/cooking and he needs to eat "now") and one in my bedroom that I use if I'm in the middle of folding laundry or getting ready (and he needs to eat "now"). I'm actually thinking about making another one, but I'm not entirely certain he actually needs another one. I did promise someone else I'd send them one, so I'll probably end up making one more for the house. It really takes no time at all to make, it's the hand sewing at the end that takes the longest time, when time is precious to begin with. I'm running low now on this Sesame Street material, which I love. I am not even sure where it's from (maybe Fabricville) and I'm not sure I could even get anymore.

seancutiefeb20

This afternoon I took all 3 boys on 3 errands. It's not that bad going on errands with all 3 of them, Sean walks next to me, Mack goes in the cart in the seat and Quentin's bucket fits into the bottom part of the shopping cart. It's actually not that bad, and they behaved themselves today. Who knows if next time will be as easy.

chocoholicM
We ended our day with visiting with family and celebrating my step-brother-in-law's birthday. There was chocolate cake involved.

seancake

QsleepKarens
Quentin was quite content just hanging out - asleep - for the most part of our visit.

2.18.11

This morning I took the boys to daycare and handed all my kids teachers a chocolate chip banana bread. They seemed to be well received and appreciated. I can't wait to hear how they liked my recipe. With the banana bread they received a note, that I wrote with each kid. They told me what they liked about their teachers, and I wrote it down. It was quite cute actually. Nothing wrong with a little compliment love. The one that killed me the most in cuteness was one of the ones Mack said. For one of his teachers, he likes that "she also likes the Habs and that she listens to him when he shows her his socks each day". Yep, you read that correctly. On a daily basis, Mack goes out of his way to show his one teacher what socks he has on. Even more the fun when he's wearing Habs socks....

Qatmusic

This morning we had our music class again. This time I wanted to see if Quentin would do well in the Bumbo. And he did. I am going to definitely get him to use the bumbo more often now. He is totally ready for it. Quentin today is sporting the Ribbed Baby Jacket by Debbie Bliss that my friend Melissa knit him for my Virtual Baby Shower. It's too cute on him. (Her Ravelry Project)

holdmusictoy

I've been working on Quentin's grip - trying to get him to hold toys and stuff (he's not really playing with toys yet), but today at music I got him to grasp the instrument. It's a start.

maxQ

Right after music we came straight home and shortly after, we had 2 visitors. Alison came over with Max. Max is 10 days younger than Quentin - though, you would think he was the older one of the two. It was a really nice visit, and Quentin hopes to see Max again soon. It will be a lot more fun when they can actually play together. It was nice catching up with Alison, I hadn't seen her in a very long time - maybe even not since I last lived in the city (I've been out in the suburbs for just over 3 years now). We had some banana bread, coffee, chatted & unfortunately no knitting was done - not this time.

sleepstretch

A relaxed sleeping baby.
He's been giving me 5-6 hour stretches over the last few nights.
I'm still quite sleep deprived, but we're getting there.
Hopefully sooner rather than later, we'll be sleeping through the night.

Tonight I finished another bottler holder for Quentin (sewing the last touches by hand that needed to be done) and I will show you that tomorrow. I now have one for his diaper bag and one to leave in his chair in the kitchen and one for upstairs. I'm thinking now maybe I'll make the time to make another one, to put downstairs. I'm always looking for what I did with it, so now I don't have to look anymore. They are so easy to make, it's just a bit time consuming with the hand sewing touches at the end. I also got to knit a few rows on Wyatt, and I'm nearing the end. Hoping to cast off tomorrow.

qnatemovie
Today Quentin and I ventured out to see the movie Just Go With It with Quentin's friend Nate & his mom. It wasn't the best movie in the world, but we sat there laughing throughout the entire movie, which was fun. It was definitely an enjoying (but long) movie. By the end of the movie we were noticing the time.

nateholder

While at the movies, I gave Nate the bottle holder that I finished sewing for him. His mom had seen ours while over visiting one time and wanted one for Nate. I told her that I would make one for her since I was going to make another one for Quentin and that I'd do them all together. I actually have one like the one above in progress (just needs the last finishing touches), for Quentin as well. I now have the black one that I just finished in my diaper bag, and the green one I made while still pregnant to keep in the house. I wanted to make one more so that I had one upstairs in the house and one for the kitchen. I'm always looking for mine ("where did I last leave it") so the more the merrier. I only use it when I need to feed Quentin and I also need my hands free. (While cooking dinner, baking, chasing after the other kids, or one of them needs my attention, while in the middle of doing dishes, laundry, eating dinner myself... etc. He never is left unattended with it for safety reasons). I like how this Sesame Street "baby" characters one came out. I hope she likes it.

sapphiregreen

Today in the mail I got a skein of Malabrigo Lace in Sapphire Green. I did a swap with someone on Ravelry, she wanted my skein of Malabrigo Lace in Molly that I had for destash. I went to go enter it into my stash to realize that I already have some of this colorway (intended for the Featherweight Cardigan - when I get around to it). Either I now have more for my project incase needed, or I will find something else for this skein I got today in a yarn exchange. I guess I must really like the color!

brushteethtime

Our crazy busy house at bedtime.

qSeanbed

I love that the boys really really really love their brother. Having Quentin I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of Sean & Mack being jealous - but they absolutely adore him. This melts my heart.

2.11.11

This morning my dad picked Quentin and I up again to give us a lift to the Montreal Children's Hospital. We had an appointment with Respirology today. We got there early. My dad went to find parking. I got to the reception desk of Respirology and handed them Quentin's hospital card and his medicare card. I thought we were going to have to go sit down and wait, seeing as though we were there at least a good 40 minutes early. We were brought immediately into a room to a nurse to get him weighed and measured (height). I discovered with his height that his doctor made a mistake at his 2 month check up. He's only 52.5 cm today, and not 56 cm. He gained in the last 8 days 200 grams. That's approximately 25 g per day. This is fantastic news. He improved from 20 g per day in a week to 22 g per day in a week to now 25 g per day in a week. Fantastic! Last Thursday he was 7 lbs 15 oz (3861 grams or 3.61 kg) and today he is 8 lbs 6 oz (3810 grams or 3.81 kg). So happy with this. He gained almost half a pound in about a week. Way to go Quentin! When the nurse was done with everything she brought us to an exam room. I thought we'd be going in there to wait for the doctor. Nope, the doctor was in there, waiting for us. It was a doctor that I wanted to see (there are a few in the department, but I got the one that people I know had recommended I saw). She was super awesome with Quentin. At first she asked me what I knew of Laryngomalacia, scolded me for googling and reading, and went over a couple of things. She listened to Quentin's breathing and was really happy with things. They were going to do a cap gas today too, but upon learning that I'd just done it on Tuesday, she wasn't going to have them draw more blood from Quentin. (She also informed me that next time I am in ENT and they want to do bloods, to have ENT call for a technician to come draw the bloods, so that I don't have to wait an hour again for the blood to be taken - interesting). She was happy with Tuesday's results, went over a few more things, and told me to book an appointment on the way out for 2 month's from now. She also gave me her card and told me that if I needed anything to please call her. I was out of there and on the highway heading home within minutes of the time that my appointment actually was called for. My dad didn't even have time to park his car. What a quick appointment with great service. Totally the opposite of Tuesday's appointment.

mariemode

Since I was back home early, I decided to get in my car and do a few things.
One stop, was at Marie Mode Tricot, a yarn shop that opened up not too long ago.
It's been on my "to check out list".

biscottilace
Of course, somehow I ended up with some new yarn. I don't know how it happened, but this skein of lace called my name, and asked me to take it home. The color is just delicious.

bluegreen

And this skein of fingering weight was too hard to leave behind.

bottlehold

I finally finished in the wee hours of the night last night, this bottle holder. This one is for Quentin. I wanted a few extra for the house (and one to keep permanently in our diaper bag) so I've been whipping up a few more. I absolutely love the material of this one. It was from a nursing wrap that I got, but since I have no use for a nursing wrap (as I'm bottle feeding Quentin), I had to re-purpose the material. I still have enough material to make something else small (or a few little things) and I just love the fabric. Even the stuffing was re-purposed on it, from a pillow (cheaper than stuffing at a craft supply store).

Qmuzic

Quentin had his music class today, that we luckily made on time (I was worried because I wasn't sure how long our doctor's appointment would take). I am really enjoying the music classes. There are even babies around Quentin's age in the class, so I'm not the only one with a newborn who doesn't do much. At this point, it's more for me to get out of the house and be with other people than anything.

Qmacrib

Quentin is sporting a hat that I got him on Etsy from this seller. It finally (sort of) fits him. He still needs to grow a bit, but by rolling it up a bit, I'm able to let him wear it. I've had this hat since I ordered it in October, and I'm glad that we're finally getting to wear it.

sundarayuckyyarnsplityarn

I am not sure what is going on with this yarn. I'm rather disappointed. I bought it off a local knitter, and it's not cheap yarn. It's Sundara in my stash here. I am in the middle of re-organizing my yarn room and making sure that everything is listed on Ravelry and I come across this. Upon further inspection, the yarn is splitting. It was not like that when I first got it, as I was able to re-skein it from the way I got it from the local knitter. I wasn't sure what was going on, so I put it in a ziploc bag and put it in the freezer for a while. I figured if something was in there, it would kill it by freezing it. I'm damn pissed off that it's splitting and I'm not even sure it's worth salvaging? What do you think? I might have to soak it in wool wash and clean it, but I'm afraid there is just no point. There's a few more strands that look like it's about to split. Grumble. (If you want to see closer-up, click on the individual photos, it'll open up larger in another window).

I'm starting to wonder where the Grace Repair Kit I "ordered" is. I know Quentin is still using the bucket, but I ordered it over a month ago. I wonder when I should start to worry?

There is a bit of commotion going on outside our house. 3 police cars, an ambulance and a firetruck. Not sure what is going on, but I'm curious. Looks like they're next door. I'm hoping there is nothing happening at my neighbor's house. I'm trying to be discreet and investigate. Maybe there is something up on her facebook page. Sean & Mack are getting a kick out of all the lights (no sirens) and the fact that from the window they can see police cars, fire trucks and and ambulance. I really hope there is nothing serious going on. If it had been summer, I'd have taken the boys outside to see the trucks. But in this cold, we watched from the window. (Though, we couldn't see much). If I hear of anything, I'll let you know... I'm sure you're curious too.

bottleholders

I need more hours in the day. I have these 3 bottle holders (2 with Sesame Street Fabric (one for Quentin and one for his friend Nate) and 1 in black with 1 dots on it - an extra one for Quentin) that needs the last final hand sewn touches to them. Time to do it? Hard to find. Hoping to get these done tomorrow. I really wish there was more hours in the day. More hours to read. More hours to knit. More hours to sew. More hours to read blogs. More hours to reply to my emails (slowly working on cleaning out my inbox - which is a complete disaster right now). I did print a new pattern today and took out the yarn & appropriate needles, so I'm hoping that I can get started on that as soon as possible. It looks like a quick knit.

I ended up moving my eye doctor's appointment to next week. There was no point in going to it today with extremely tired eyes. Quentin's been having a 3-4 hour period every night that he wants to eat every hour. Not fun. It's been 2 nights in a row like this. So I'll be going for a check-up next week and I'll be praying that I get a good night's sleep the night before it. Thank you all whom have been commenting on their experience with Lasik. Thanks for all the info/feedback.

Since I was beyond a walking zombie today, Quentin and I decided to sleep in until past 2 pm. He got up once around 7:30 am, again just before 11:30 am and then at 2:15 pm when we got up for the day finally. While I didn't get much done at all today, I did manage to get on the treadmill for a good 30 minutes. It's amazing how much time flies on the machine when you're engrossed in something else. I brought my internet tablet with me (inspired by Oprah who plays Scrabble when she works out) and played Jewels. I am still looking for Scrabble or a scrabble like game for Android. Anything to pass the time faster on the treadmill. I hate working out. I find it a chore. However, I want to get my figure back, and exercise is important. My goal right now is to get on the treadmill for 1 month straight, every day. I am betting myself if I can do it. I hope I can keep it up. I figure, if I can get through one month straight, then anything's possible.

Qbouncer
Today Quentin and I slept in. I was zonked because he wanted to feed at 1:10 am, 2:15 am, and 3:20 am last night. At almost quarter to 4, he slept until 7:28 am. I don't mind these growth spurts, but can they happen during the day please? Not in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping?

This morning Quentin smiled at me while I was talking to him. I ♥ it. It was the first responsive smile I've gotten from him.

grabhand

Quentin loves to be held, and hold onto me. Someone else held him today, and while he was good with her, when he was back in my arms, he was even more happier. I love feeling loved by my children.

qfoot

I love how tiny he still is. I need to get my hands on some non-toxic ink so that I can stamp his feet & hands before they grow too big. I have Sean & Mack's hands and feet, time to do Quentin. I am not sure where my ink is or if I need more. I think I probably do need more.

Tonight we had some friends over for a small super bowl party. It was nice to have some people over, and now we have way too much leftover food. I guess I know what we'll be eating for the next few days. At least some of it was healthy. I made sure there was a variety of healthy options. And if I am up a little on the scale, it's not the end of the world, and it'll be gone before the end of the week - I know it. No point in not enjoying myself with friends because of my diet. I also was pretty good with eating tonight. I made sure to be good so that I could enjoy a sliver of cheese cake that one of our guests brought for dessert. My fave (cheesecake). I've been so good since January 1st that a little treat was definitely in order.

I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow. I haven't been since just after Sean was born. I want to make sure my eye sight has not changed, and that I am a good candidate for Lasik. I am honestly considering it - I have been for a few years now, but was told to wait until after I was done giving birth - since your eye sight changes a bit when pregnant. Maybe that is not true (to wait til after you are done having kids) but in any case... I waited. Has anyone had Lasik? Do you recommend it? I figure I have a good 10 years before my eyesight would start going downhill again at 40. What's your thoughts on Lasik?

My new fave commercial. Habs & Knitting in one. What more could be better?

Stay tuned. I hope to have some crafty stuff for you tomorrow. I'm working on the last finishing touches to something sewn.

2.3.11 :: 137 weeks old

137wksM

Mack is 137 weeks old today.

cutieQuie

Today was one of those days.
Quentin and I hung out.

largesnowsuit
We did venture out for a bit, and because Quentin decided to not keep his last bottle down, I had to wash his entire Bundle-me ensemble of his car seat. So, I took out a snow suit I'd gotten, in 3-6 month size, thinking that it would be better to get 3-6 month size instead of 0-3, seeing as though I was due in December and I wanted it to last me throughout the winter, until at least the end of March. I wasn't thinking at the time that I have small babies, why would Quentin be any different than his brothers? Three small babies. The 0-3 month snow suit would have worked wonderful throughout the entire winter I'm sure. So Quentin was completely lost in the snow suit (above). We ran some groceries and we checked in at the CLSC for his weigh-in. As of today he's 7 lbs 15 oz (3.61kg or 3610 grams). Still under the 8 lbs mark, though he should be about 8 lbs by tomorrow providing he still keeps gaining at the same 22 g per day that he's done this past week. This is an improvement, as he had gained previously on some weeks, 15g, 20 g (one week he had even gained 31g on average per day). 22g is good. We'll take it! Most people when they find out that he's still under 8 lbs say "My son (or daughter) was way bigger than that at birth"... Yeah, I know, I make 'em small. Good things come in small packages.

seanglowstick

Tonight we had a little surprise for the boys.

glowsticks

I had picked up glow sticks, we turned out the lights in my bedroom and had some fun with them. It's inexpensive and lots of entertainment. If you're looking for something to do one evening or on a rainy day, this is a lot of fun with young kids.

Last night, I started sewing again. I got the energy to cut out and start to sew bottle holders. I wanted to make an extra for the house and one for his diaper bag. As well, my friend that was over the other day saw it too and thought it was the most genius thing ever, so I cut out fabric and sewed one for her too - her son is Quentin's very first friend. It's this pattern that I used. I even used for one of the new ones I made for Quentin and the one I made for his friend, the same cute material that I used to make one for Mackenzie over 2 years ago. The 2nd one I made for Quentin was in re-purposed material from a nursing wrap I got (I'm not nursing) and I really loved the material (design). I need to finish the last parts of these 3 bottle holders with some hand sewing that needs to get done, and once that is done, I will show you what I made. I also made the time to sew a garment for my step-mother-in-law, she asked me to fix a strap on something that broke. She kept forgetting to bring it over to our house when they came for Friday night dinner, so she finally brought it the Friday before last. I was going to do it last Thursday or Friday before they came, but last week was spend with Quentin at the hospital, so I didn't get the chance to do that. I am actually quite impressed with the fact that I was able to fix her piece of clothing instead of her going to a dress maker/seamstress to get it fixed.

11.24.10

mackdentist
Today was our semi-annual dental appointment. Mackenzie joined us for the first time today. It was his first appointment ever - and as you can see above, he was in the chair with his mouth open before the dentist even took a peek. His mouth is developing well, and he's just missing his four 2nd set molars. As I had suspected, his first set of molars are cut through, and growing. (Which explains his crankiness and fever as of recent).

seandentalclean
Sean also was a good boy at his appointment. He let the hygienist clean his teeth, and do the floride treatment before the dentist took at look in his mouth as well. No complaints.

lookmanocavities
And the appointment was for myself as well.
Look ma, still not a single cavity!
And damn proud!

5bookmarksdone
Last night I finished the 5th bookmark for the teacher's gifts. I have to start another set, though maybe not another 5, as I want to make the daycare coordinator a bookmark too - and they make great gifts, so I think I might just whip up a few more to have on hand. Now that I know the pattern off by heart, I can whip up one of these in no time.

This afternoon I ran a few errands. I wanted to pick up a few more 'organizational' pieces/containers for my nesting. I've been wanting a container to keep all the boys artwork that they bring home from daycare. Until now it's just been sitting in a pile here & a pile there, and I really wanted to put them together and store them in something. So I found something perfect for that today. I also picked up a few more little cubby things with drawers (really small cubby 3-drawer organizers) as I've been organizing my knitting notions, by category. (Ok, maybe I'm taking nesting to an entire new level?)

auntlydias4blog
While out, I found this Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread. It's 100% Bamboo and SO soft. I have no idea what to do with it - but I had to pick it up. I got Still Pool (Blue) and Mushroom (Cream). Some interesting options I've found on Ravelry are this necklace, or this one, ooh, this necklace too, people have even made the bookmark that I've just finished with this thread, I'd have to pick up some more of one of the colorways to make a shawl like this one. Neat ideas. I'm already married, but some people have even used this soft thread to make garters! I think by far this is my fave one. I wish I had been crocheting back in the days of my wedding - but I only picked up stitching after I got married. I totally would have made myself a garter. (Actually the garter that I used for my wedding, was passed onto my cousin Jenn, and then Jenn passed it onto my cousin Caryn, and they both used it as well. I wonder if Caryn still has it, and will pass it along to the next family member who gets engaged or married). It should be in a box with our names and wedding dates on it. Hopefully a family tradition was started. If not... I tried.

fatquarters
I've also been looking for some fabric that wasn't too "out there" for lining for pouches and stuff. I was looking for more solid, but founds these and really like them. I will still keep looking for solid fabric. I am hoping these pieces will work for what I want to use them for. If not, I'll find something to make with them.

spraystarch
I also found Easy-On Speed Starch. I am hoping it's the right thing - as the employee in the store I had no idea to help me. I am looking for "spray starch" to spray the bookmarks to stiffen them up before ironing them as the final step to it. Does anyone know if this is the right stuff? Hoping it is, before opening it - as it is returnable if it's not. From reading the side of the spray it looks like it is the right thing?

I've got another 10 point Pampers Gifts to Grow code: GiveThanks10pts.

Tonight I think it will be another early night. I feel ill with really bad (horribly bad) indigestion (eating Greek food was NOT a good idea at almost 36 weeks pregnant) and I am catching myself falling asleep. Hopefully I'll have a good night's rest. Need to get as much sleep now before baby 3 arrives.

11.13.10 :: 34 weeks pregnant

34wkspg3

34 weeks pregnant. 3 more weeks and baby boy is getting an eviction notice.
(Anyone got any tips on naturally inducing labor? Raspberry Tea is one...)

This morning Jamie took Sean to his skating lesson. Mack wanted to go with to watch too - so I actually had peace & quiet in the house for a good hour and a half. It was really nice, actually. After skating was over, we headed out to do a few errands, and do a little holiday shopping. I've been trying to take care of that so that I don't have to think about it come December. We're keeping the holidays simple this year. Christmas with my hubby's step-family is actually in Toronto this year, so we're not going. I'll do a little Chanukah thing with the boys, we exchange gifts with my cousin Jenn's boys, and I got something little for each of my parents and my in-laws. And for my 8 year old nephew, whom I think we'll see between Xmas & New Years if they come in - if not, I'll mail his gift to him. I'll also get something for my hubby. But that's about it. Oh and the daycare teachers, can't forget about them, their gift is in progress. Other than that, I'm not doing the holidays this year, I decided. There's no reason to with the adults anymore. There comes a point in time where it's just ridiculous already. When does it end? What are your family traditions? I also think as of next year, since it'll be my 30th, I'm stopping adult birthday gifts. I'll send out cards, but it's just getting ridiculous already. Do you still exchange birthday gifts with adult family members? I figure big birthdays are one thing (like 30th, 40th, etc...) but other than that.... when does it end?? I've been talking to a few friends about birthdays and holidays and it just seems like at a certain point, it's just not necessary anymore. It's all about the kids now. Especially since I almost have 3 of them of my own.

Mid afternoon while Mackenzie was napping (thankfully!), Jamie's mom & her wife came over to pick up Zeus. They stayed for a while until Mackenzie got up from his nap, so that they could see him too. My mother-in-law showed me the knitting she was working on (socks for my nephew) and asked me about needles & stuff, so I gave her a few pairs, so that she had some variety. She's been making tube socks for all her grandsons. (She only has grandsons). She recently got back into knitting - but used to do it years ago. We weren't sure if Sean would react when we put Zeus in his carrier and my mother-in-law & her wife left today. However, it was actually Mackenzie who started bawling for Zeus. Though, I don't think he really gets what was going on, and he wasn't a fan of Zeus to begin with - always yelling at the cat, etc. So that was odd, but he quickly forgot about Zeus once they left. I am praying he gets along great in his new home, as there are 3 other cats there.

This afternoon I actually got started on the daycare teacher sewing portion for their holiday gifts. I'm making all 5 teachers the same thing. (Sean has 3 teachers & Mack has 2). Today I started with Mack's teacher who is a huge Habs fan, so I made her items in Habs fabric that I re-purposed from a Crib Bumper we never used for the boys. (I've actually made a few things out of it already). I really hope she likes it. I still have one more item to make for her. I will blog about it all once I am done and know 100% what I am doing in full. However, I can tell you that I am super impressed with my sewing skills as of lately. I think I'm honestly surprising myself. I used to be afraid of my sewing machine, and now I have confidence. It's great. I love it.

Now I'm finally sitting here in peace & quiet. Hubby is at hockey. Kids are finally in bed (they went to bed late this evening - no idea why). After an hour of chatter in their beds and a few renditions of O CANADA on the top of their lungs (I was dying of laughter), they finally fell asleep. The laundry is going, the Habs won 7-2 over Carolina (WHAT A GAME!) and I've accidentally cast on not one, but two new knitting projects. (When I should be knitting on La Novia...). Oops.
