August 20 of 31

Today Sean hung out with his Auntie Amy while I did some work upstairs in the soon to be filled apartment (2 days until they move in!) and above is how Sean greated my sister. Full of smiles!

He's soooo cute when he's all happy and playing with his toys. These photos I missed while doing work in my office & upstairs. Somehow, he managed to get the stickers off that car he's holding in his hands, and I have to throw out the car now. The cars were a center piece on the tables at the brunch after his Brit Milah back in January.

I can't believe what a big boy Sean looks like when he stands up by his toy area. I can't believe he's almost 8 months old. His birthday will be here before I know it. Hallowe'en too... I really need to start looking for a Hallowe'en costume for Sean. I can't decide what I want him to be. I'm really in love with Tom Arma's hallowe'en costume collection. They are kind of pricey though. I'll make my list of things I may want him to be (at 10 months old he has no choice!) and figure it out.

Tonight we went out for dinner for my grandmother's birthday. Sean was fascinated by drinking out of a glass. He kept taking a little sip and then wanting more. It was too funny. He also tried to grab the glass a couple of times to hold himself. Just like a big boy.

Now, dinner was a disaster. The waiter shouldn't be a waitor. He should go back to being a student. What a mess. Extra napkins took forever to be brought, we had to ask for bread (when other tables were given upon sitting down and getting their menus), and we also had to ask for re-fills on water. Who has to ask? He's supposed to come around and see if we needed water. Now, my food was brought, I ordered Lobster stuffed pasta. I cut up the first piece to see a long hair in my food. This was not from my head, as you can kind of see in the photos above, my hair was pulled back into a bun. (Not loose). Plus, the hair was IN the pasta, not on top of... GROSS. This is the 2nd restaurant disaster from the past two family dinners at a restaurant. Remember the fiasco about 2 weeks ago? I won't be eating at Al Dente on Monkland for a while. Not until I forget about the hair in my meal.

Tonight Jamie & I caught up on an epsiode of Entourage (we're still 2 episodes behind) and the premiere of Season 3 of Weeds. Too funny. If you have not yet checked out this show, you must. It's just too funny.

Last night Sean - who went to bed at 9:30 pm, probably got freaked out by a nightmare around 2:25 am, and got up. He had a bit of a bottle and fell back to sleep right away. I am trying my best to put him to bed as early as possible without the fear of him waking up too early for a bottle (like this morning in the middle of the night). Tonight, Sean fell asleep just after 10 pm after falling asleep in my arms on the couch after drinking a bottle, and started crying about an hour and a bit later, upon probably having another bad dream. I was able to turn him over onto his back, tuck him in, give him a pacifier, put on Baby Einstein Classic Lullaby CD and he fell back asleep. I am crossing my fingers & knocking on wood, that he now sleeps through the night. Tomorrow is our last Aquababies until October when the Y opens up again after the Jewish Holidays. We're not doing Aquababies this time though, we're going to do 'Starfish'. I will register him tomorrow after our class is over. (Unless I can manage to get to the Y early enough tomorrow morning).

Tomorrow I've got plans with Kadi & Michelle. We're going LYS hopping with Michelle who is in from Toronto. Sean's coming with, and he'll probably want to touch a LOT of yarn.

August 19 of 31

Just a warning, this is a very non-knitting post. There will be a bit of knitting stuff at the end of the post, but most of it is Sean stuff. Just cuz I love this kid more than anything in the entire world. Just so that you know...!

Today not only did Sean try Vegetable, Beef & Spaghetti baby food -which he loved and had for lunch & supper, he tried a french fry (see above) curtosey of his great-uncle Mark. We went to Jamie's Aunt & Uncle's house today to celebrate his other uncle's birthday, and it was nice to see everyone.

Sean was having a grand time sitting outside his great aunt & uncle's house, hanging out with his cousins. Making silly faces & laughing.

This evening we went to my great aunt's 75th Surprise birthday party. Sean was also in a good mood for most of the evening (until he got tired and started rubbing his eyes), but was all smiles for most of the evening.

All he wanted to do was stand! And try to walk. Anyone who would hold he he wanted to be on the move. I now am starting to believe that Sean will be walking by 9 months. He just needs to figure out how to stabalize himself.

At one point he saw me drinking out of a plastic cup, and wanted my cup. So I asked someone to get me an empty one, and Sean just didn't want to give it to anyone upon having it in his possession!

We had a good time. We were there from about 5:30 pm until just before 10 pm. Sean started getting cranky (tired) around 9 pm, so I tried feeding him before we left. He also didn't like the Happy Birthday song, he started bawling his eyes out, and also, didn't like it when my almost 4 year old cousin Arianne started singing the songs she learned. I couldn't believe that he cried!! I think we will have to work on singing Happy Birthday to him, so that he doesn't cry when it comes time to his 1st birthday. Next weekend we have our cousin Oliver's 1st birthday party, so I'm hoping that he won't cry again next week during Happy Birthday.

Knitting.... since tonight Sean went to bed as soon as we got home, (10 pm ish), (He fell asleep in the car and I was able to transfer him into his crib - Hurrah!) I got some knitting done. I worked on about 40 more rows on the 2nd sleeve. I'm at almost 100 rows from the 155 that I need to do before doing the decreases for the shoulder. Getting there. After that, all that's left is the neck part and it'll be an FO. I'm hoping that will happen by the weekend.

Jamie's "anniversary" cotton socks are getting frogged. I think I will take out another skein of sock yarn to knit him socks. I am not impressed with the cotton, not at all. So I will see what I want to knit for him in socks, and find something else. I'm thinking something with a solid color so that it shows any design I want to make in them. That's for starters. The original idea of doing the cotton was because 2nd Anniversary Modern gifts is "cotton". He doesn't care, I don't care, so I'll be using wool instead. Much better in my opinion, especially for winter socks.... Now, if only I can figure out what to do with the Cotton yarn that I wound and that I don't want....!

In other knitting news, I want to make the Tilted Duster from the cover of the recent issue of Interweave Knits. I just need to figure out what color I want to make it... and it'll be added to my queue in Ravelry. Hopefully I'll get to it soon. (Must knit Sophia first - she's already been cast on!)

August 18 of 31

Today we drove about an hour East of Montreal to Bromont (which is 18 minutes north of Cowansville, Quebec) to the Captain of Jamie's softball team's house. This guy works in Montreal, but lives out East. It look us more than an hour to get there due to some construction and traffic, and since Jamie drove I got to read my knitting magazines & knit on my Turtleneck Shrug in the car.

Sean was totally obsessed with grabbing the Heineken bottle out of our hands. He kept trying to put it in his mouth. I kept telling him that he has to wait another 17 and a half years until he's legal to drink some, but he says that his grandpa let him taste some Budweiser back in June, that his daddy should let him try some Heineken.

Not bad for a picture I took myself. I was pretty impressed with these photos. I was able to capture both Sean & I in the frame without chopping off any heads! I wish the teething phase was over, because this kid constantly drools, and in almost ALL the photos I have of him, he's wearing a bib..... never known a kid to always wear a bib before... have you? I also couldn't believe how chilly it was today. We had packed up our bathing suits, as they have an above ground pool where we were today for the BBQ, but it was just too darn chilly. I am so happy that I grabbed Sean's sweater, because the long sleeved shirt he was wearing wasn't cutting it. And I am also happy that I had a jumbo receiving blanket in the car, because at one point he took a nap in my lap, and it was getting even more chilly, and I was glad to wrap him up.

Today Sean graduated from size 2 to size 3 shoes. (Or maybe it's because he was wearing socks?) But anyhow, I had just the perfect pair of Size 3 baby shoes to pull out for him. They matched his outfit so nicely. And I just love them. They are too precious. I think once he outgrows this pair, they are going to be hung in my car. That, or I'll get another pair to hang in my car. I just love them. Sean now officially owns more pairs of shoes than I do. Is that even possible? But his Auntie Amy still wins. She owns way more shoes than the two of us combined. Even three of us combined with the 4 pairs of shoes that Jamie owns.

Yes, I pulled out my knitting today at the BBQ. There was knitting & beer. I did forget to mark down a few rows that I'd knit, but that's okay, I re-counted them when I got home. Just over 100 more rows to knit before I start the decreases for the shoulder. I'll get there.... hopefully soon. I'm anxious to start wearing this already! Just in time for fall to start. I was the only knitter at the BBQ today, and got asked a lot of questions from the men there. Surprisingly!

Who pre-orders a book FIVE and a half years early??????

Watching Sunday night's episode of Big Love, I fell in love with the song that Rhonda sings at the end while on TV called Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A. Originally song is by Donna Fargo. However, I do not like the version of the original song. On Big Love Rhonda sings it soo much nicer. I have the .avi of the episode, I downloaded it, so now I'm trying to figure out - how do I transfer just the song from the .avi and record it as an .mp3? I am downloading a software right now, that is supposed to do things like that - so we'll see how that works out.

This afternoon I was bored, and since Jamie had to go into work today because his co-worker is on vacation and there needs to be someone in the office (Jamie usually works from home on Fridays) I went off to Walmart to pick up some items we needed. Got a bathtub organizer for Sean's toys, but the damn suction cups won't stick to our walls - so that is getting returned the next time I get back to Walmart. I picked up a ton of baby food for Sean, (I gave up on the idea of making my own - way too complicated to start doing now) and it's just easier to buy jarred food. I found a bunch of meat ones that he hasn't tried yet, as I want to give him stuff with more substance than peas or pears or sweet potato for dinner. He'll be trying Chicken mixes and beef mixes and turkey mixed (with vegetables and pasta puree, no idea which one goes with which, but I'll let you know as he tries it). I also picked up some more fruits for him, he likes the blueberries and strawberries and he'll get to try peaches for dessert (though he's tried the puree of peaches, this is made more like a jam if you want to call it that - as a dessert instead of a puree). I found some fancy tank tops that I like, so I have to try them on. I also picked up some nice pants, but unfortunately they don't fit. I think my post-pregnancy belly doesn't like zippers. (Oh well, it's going to be a while before I get out of my maternity pants - but you know what? I don't mind. It's not the end of the world.) I'm just disappointed I didn't fit into these gorgeous pants.

Tonight I was looking for something that I knew may be in my crawl space, so I re-organized a lot in there, and didn't find what I was looking for, but I am very impressed on how clean it currently is in there. I can actually find things in there. And found yarn that I didn't know was in there, stashed away. Yarn that I don't know if I will ever use, but nevertheless, not sure what I will do with it.

I also grouted the bathroom upstairs in the apartment we rent out. The first of the 4 tenants is coming on Thursday, so it needed to get done. I was procrastinating, I don't know why. It looks 400 times better in there now than it did before. I still have some touch ups to do in spots where the grout didn't take - but you know what??? I actually like (enjoy) grouting. I won't ever do this professionally, but I don't mind doing it. It's actually a little bit of fun. I need to finish one bathtub wall in my bathroom, as well as eventually the other walls out of the bathtub area to eventually re-grout, but I am going to start with the tub wall that still needs to be done in my bathroom. Then, also on my list, is to sand the stairs going to our basement and varnish them.

Jamie is taking me out of town for our 2 year wedding anniversary. I've decided on the place (up north) but I will book before telling you where we will be going (just incase it's booked - which I highly doubt, but I don't want to jinx anything). Sean will be spending one night at my parents house on a Saturday - Sunday around our actual anniversary. Very excited to get away. Let's just say it's spa and I will be needing a massage!

Due to popular demand, I've added the Knitting Earrings to my shop. Check them out & order them here. A great way to accessorize while knitting!

Tomorrow we're off to a BBQ bash about an hour away from our place at the Captain of Jamie's softball team's house. I am looking forward to it - it'll be a lot of fun. I hope the weather is nice. At least Jamie's driving (I have no idea how to get to Bromont), so I'll get 1 hour of knitting in the car each way. Hopefully Sean will sleep in the car.

Speaking of Sean sleeping - tonight was a LOT easier to get him to sleep. We've started a routine. I also started to get him to sleep a lot earlier than before. It used to be 11:30pm or later, when he'd start rubbing his eyes that he's tired. NO MORE. Tonight, I put him down to bed at 10:30. Tomorrow night, hopefully we'll try at 10pm. And bring it down to 9-9:30. I just don't want to have him get up at 5 am, so I don't want him to go to bed too early. Our new routine at bedtime is have a bottle (or finish what's left of one he started not too long before, cuddle with mommy for a few minutes, and then he gets put into his bed, groggy & rubbing his eyes, on his back, head elevated by a pillow, all tucked in. Pacifier in mouth, and Baby Einstein Lullaby Classics playing on his CD player. So far, two nights in a row, this has proven to work. I'm totally okay with this. Crossing my fingers he sleeps through the night.

33 Weeks

Today Sean is 33 weeks old. His hair is becoming thicker and more like his daddy (but remaining very strawberry blonde). When it's really warm it curls like his daddy. (His daddy has hair just like Kramer on Seinfeld. I make fun of it when he needs to get a haircut badly). If you click on the link I hyperlinked Kramer's name to, that's an example of Jamie's hair when he needs a haircut! At that point, he wears a hat and hides it!

Sean had fun this morning playing in his room while mommy did some chores around the house. He is very good with playing by himself, and even though we entertain him a lot, I do also want him to learn that he can play on his own and still have fun.

At one point I checked in on him, and found him by his toy cubbies, checking out what was in the buckets. After this picture I made sure there was enough toys for him to find in there, incase he wanted to start throwing things on the floor - I didn't mind. This mess is a good mess, it means he's having fun.

Sean likes to play peek-a-boo with his playhouse. He giggles when you hide and then re-appear.

And he's figured out that you can open the door and crawl through and there is a whole other world of playhouse on the other side of the door! This was a great toy that I got for him at my baby shower from my mom's 1st cousin and her family. He just loves it.

Sean's afternoon nap was very important today because he was a tad cranky and he just couldn't stop rubbing his eyes. I DID NOT want to take the chance of waking him up, so I decided to test out a new system. I turned his playpen upside down, and put it over him, this way, if he woke up, he wouldn't be able to crawl off the bed. I placed him in the center of my bed, and in the center of it. I was able to feel good about doing my chores and stuff around the house, without worrying that he was on my bed, and if he woke up and I didn't hear him, that he could possibly crawl right off the bed.

My "invention" seemed to work for today! I don't know if I'll do this often, but if I need him to nap and I don't want to risk him waking up upon transferring him into his crib, then I may just use thise method again. I tested it, and there was no way it would collapse over him, everything locks into place, and you need extreme force to collapse it. Nothing an 18 and a half (maybe 19 lb) baby could do.

I gave Sean carrots again tonight for dinner. He ate them! No faces were made, and he gobbled it all up. I waited about a month or so since the last time I tried giving him carrots. I know that when a baby grows, their taste buds are always changing too, so even though last time he didn't like them, now he does. The same thing happened with butternut squash. When he first tried it, he hated it. Gave him some more like two months later, it was a huge success!

Today I got the coupon for the free Easy-Off cleaner in the mail. That was speedy. I think I just called them the other day to let them know I had a can that was three quarters full almost and didn't want to spray anymore. I will make sure to pick up another bottle the next time I'm at the pharmacy or Walmart. It doesn't matter if it's on sale or not, because the coupon has no value, just says for 1 free bottle. This almost makes me want to call up SprayNwash and bitch about the tshirt that their product stained. It was my fave shirt. Thank goodies I had two of the same shirt. I learned my lesson using their shit product!

In knitting news, my September sock club is Sold Out! I have now listed the October sock club, and all the details are on the site. October's sock club kit is looking fabulous as well as the works in progress for November's sock club. I think I am going to have to sign myself up for each and every one of them, so that I don't miss out on a colorway myself. I'm addicted to handpainted yarn. Especially when it's sock yarn!

In other knitting news, I cast on my 2nd sleeve tonight. I worked about 5 rows while Jamie & I watched Big Brother 8. I love that show. I want Eric to win. (America's Player). I want Amber gone, because she's too emotional, and Evil Dick is driving me insane too. So I'm rooting for Eric.

The August BMFA STR Sock Club kits have shipped. I can't wait to get that in the mail and see what the colorway is. I don't know why, but I am saving all my club kits for a late date to knit with. Just because. No reason. Does anyone happen to know if this year's members get priority to sign up again for next year's? Was it like that from last year to this year? I'm just curious.

August 15 of 31

This afternoon we had lunch at my parents house and then my mother & I ran some errands. Since I love the lighting in my parents' house, I took some photos of Sean before we left, but he was having too much of a good time, that he didn't want to sit still:

Yep, he hearts his mommy. I love this onesie. On the tush it reads "and my mommy loves me".

Here's your daily dose of smiles people! You can't get enough of them, really. You turn around and back, and the smiles are still there. I love that about my little guy.

Tonight I had two "blind dates". That's what I'm calling them. I invited two people to come to the Montreal Knits Knit Night. So for them, they had no idea whom they were meeting, and so it kind of seemed like a blind date! We joked about that, and it was pretty funny.

Date number 1 was with Sarah who is originally from Edmonton, and we met on Ravelry a few weeks ago. We've been talking online through there, and I convinced her to come knitting (insted of staying on her couch knitting alone!) Sarah is an awesome girl and I hope we didn't scare her off. Sarah - I hope you come to more knitting meetings! She's also going to teach me how to do toe-up socks.

Blind date number 2 was with Melanie. She emailed me a while back about learning how to knit socks. She stumbled across my blog, and since we both live in the same city she asked if I could help, or knew where she could get help. Anyhow, I invited her to come tonight to knit. (When she arrived, I had blanked out for a second who she was, and that really did feel like an "awkward first date" - LOL! But we got over it, and Melanie learned how to do a Heel Gusset!) Melanie - I think I emailed you back at the right address (from memory), but if I didn't get to you, please email me (graphicdesignchick at hotmail dot com) and I will email you the info I said I'd email you.

Tonight there was a finished sleeve number 1. I now will be casting on sleeve number 2.

I am still very much in love with the colors that this is knitting up. It's just so "me". I can't wait to wear this shrug. This pattern may be in Scarf Styles, but I was told tonight that Scarf Styles is an Interweave Knit magazine as well, but I cannot find online which issue it's in? Anyone know?

I found this guy today, and had to get him. He holds some stuff in his stomach, but not much. Maybe a few DPN's and a measuring tape. I didn't really need it, but wanted it. He was just too cute, and he was baa-ing to come home with me. I need to name him. Just cuz.

Tonight after getting hom from knitting, Sean who was just fed a bottle from Daddy, fell asleep in my arms within minutes. Ok, no problem. Transfer him into his crib. He wakes up. CRIES. So I give him a pacifier, put on Baby Einstein Lullaby music (or whatever the CD is called) and he is quiet for a few minutes. He then starts to cry. The crying we ignore. The crying now becomes SCREAMING on the top of his lungs. He gets so worked up he starts coughing on his cries/screams. We leave him for a bit. He doesn't give up. Jamie checks on him, he is standing up in his crib, facing the door waiting for us. SCREAMING. Jamie puts him lying down, gives him the pacifier again and leaves the room. This happens again. I go in and get him. Bring him into our bed, he falls asleep again in my arms. Jamie and I know that in Sean's mind he's saying "HA HA, I WIN".... (he got what he wanted, to be in my arms). I wait a bit, I know he's fast asleep, I transfer him back to his room, into his crib. Within seconds he knows where he is, wakes up and starts to cry again. I give him his pacifier, put a rolled blanket behind his back, another rolled one on his other side (he's on his back, but half on the side on an angle) and I tuck another blanket over him and tuck him in. I have the blanket over him also tucked under the two rolled blankets. I put back on the Baby Einstein soothing music, and say good night and leave the room. He huffs and puffs a little bit, but I haven't heard from him since. Once he's asleep, he's out.... but getting there is the challenge lately.

What I can't understand is HOW he realizes he's in his crib and not in my bed anymore, after he's fallen asleep!!

I also can't figure out why he goes to bed so late? Should he not be taking 2 naps anymore? (One in the morning and sometimes one mid-afternoon?) Today he only had a morning nap, none this afternoon (unless you count the 20 minutes in the car on the ride home?). I thought babies are supposed to nap twice a day? Is he over-sleeping at night? Maybe I need to cut down his naps, so that he goes to be earlier? This kid needs a routine, and he's not making it easy on us. This has to change, I'm not liking that he goes to bed when he feels he's tired. Not cool in my books. I just need to figure this out.

And the letting him cry/scream his lungs out. It's. breaking. my. heart.

August 14 of 31

This morning I tested out the waterproof digital camera at Sean's Aqua class. Here are the results of some of the photos (and these were the best ones).

(Yes, Sean has a habit of keeping his feet in the air while on his back, we're working on correcting that).

Tomorrow, this camera (piece of crap) is going back to Walmart. I got what I paid for. 24$ worth of plastic crap. Oh well, I tried it out.

Next week is Sean's last Aquababies class. There is another on starting in October after all the high Jewish holidays, but I don't think I am going to enroll him in the Aquababies (which is supposed to be 3 weeks - 6 months old ages) because they're adding in massage therapy for the babies, and upping the price from 90$ to 150$, so I think I am going to enroll him in Starfish, which is the next age group up 6 months - 18 months I think is the range. Still on Tuesday mornings, but at 9:30 am instead of 10 am, and this time it's an English class not French only. We'll see. Registration doesn't start until next week.

My mom came over for lunch and then watched Sean while I went upstairs and used bleach on the mould in the bathtub. Now, I have pictures from 2 months before my last tenant moved in, and if you remember, the place was pretty much empty because my ex-tenant before my last one, never even officially moved in. She was using the lease for her court case for custody of her children, to "prove she had somewhere to live with them..." Anyhow, there was NO mould on the walls when I took the pictures on July 2nd, 2006 (picture below). My last tenant moved in Sept 9, 2006. Upon her moving out, there was mould on the walls, (black crud creeping up the walls - that shit is alive!)

The white grouting above is WHITE - not black! Also - the tub now has a weird discoloration around the tub drain. If you see above, it's a clean tub. Well, not anymore. I have no idea what my last tenants did, but now I have the estimate from the repair guy on how much it would cost to put what she did (damages for washer & dryer) "back to normal". She will most probably lose at rental board court, I have everything documented. Anyhow, next week I'll take a trip downtown to Olympic village and take care of the rental board stuff.

Anyhow, where was I? Oh yeah, the bleach took the mould right off. I now need to re-grout (wanted the bleach to sit at least 24 hours), and I'll start re-grouting the large wall of the tub and the wall where the faucets are on Thursday. That's all that needs re-grouting right now. My first tenant arrives next Thursday, so I have to get it done this week - no more procrastination!

So happy the bleach worked, because the vinegar and water solution that someone else told me to do, didn't work. It just made the place smell like vinegar (pooey!)

Tonight Sean tried Strawberries for the first time ever. He really liked it. I only gave him a small portion because I was warned about Strawberries being a higher risk fruit for allergies. So far, so good, and he loved them. I will wait a few days to see if there is any reaction before giving him more, but he loves blueberries, so I figured he'd love strawberries too.

This evening, we tried letting Sean cry himself to sleep - it didn't work. He was SCREAMING his head off, and he was standing up in his crib, he pulled himself up all the way, barely gripping onto the top of the crib, which his head just just reaches when standing up. Jamie took him out of his crib, he bounced around for about another 45 minutes, and then I gave him a little bit of a bottle, and he passed out in my arms in our bed. I put him down in his crib. HE WOKE UP. Grrr. So, I put a pacifier in his mouth, put on Baby Einstein lullaby music and left him be. I don't hear a peep and the music has now finished, so I'm assuming he has falling asleep. Maybe tomorrow I'll wake him up at an early hour, if he doesn't get up himself, and maybe the earlier I get him up, the earlier he'll go to sleep? This kid just wants to stay up late and party. I guess it doesn't help that his mommy is a night owl.

My sock club for September has just 2 spots left, better go sign up now if you were waiting for whatever reason.... they'll be gone in no time, I'm sure of it!

Speaking of knitting stuff, I finished my first ball of Cascade Quatro on my Turtleneck Shrug. I will post a progress picture tomorrow. The skein ran out short of 23 inches, which is where I have to stop before starting my decreases & cast off. Tomorrow I'll start the 2nd sleeve, very excited for that!

Kimberly over at Woven~n~Spun is having another round of Bingo. My blog name is one of the things being called this round! How neat! Go on over and check it out. I think I may play this time - why not.

Alright, I must stop eating Roasted Sunflower Seeds (Mess all over my desk!) and publish this post and try to go to sleep. See how I wrote 'try'...

Interweave Knits Spring 2006

Does anyone has a copy of Interweave Knits Spring 2006 that they are willing to trade? I have a copy of Interweave Summer 2007 that I'm willing to trade it for (or we can arrange something else). (I ended up with 2 copies of Summer 2007). I can arrange to meet up with you or mail it if you don't live in my city, 0r whatever, if you want to do this trade.

August 13 of 31

Today I spent the entire afternoon getting out all my SP11 matches. It took me a good couple of hours, and even had an Exel problem. Gosh, I hate that program sometimes! Today, it decided to insert a hyperlink to every single column & row, for no reason at all, and link it to one of my friends' email address. Grrr! Computers! I was able to do all this work because Sean took a long nap this afternoon. Someone asked me via comments about Sean's napping. He only usually takes 1 nap in the afternoon, but sometimes he takes a nap after getting up in the morning and having his morning bottle.

Finally this evening, while Jamie played softball I hunted down these Oreo's at Walmart. I had a return to do, and while picking up margerine, garlic butter, milk and a few other items, I saw they had these....! I wanted to buy them the other day while doing groceries, but when I asked the girl that I saw who had a package where she got them from, she said "Sorry, last package"... I was sooo mad....! Well, I found them tonight, and the verdict.... DELICIOUS! Pink cookies! Woot!

Sean now has a Nunu. It's a little bear that has a blanket coming out of his head. I am hoping his Nunu will be a comfort to Sean and help him sleep. I will take a picture of Nunu tomorrow, he's currently in the crib with Sean right now, and I'm not risking it! (You can see part of his blue and white Nunu in the bottom right hand corner of the photo).

A few of you asked what the finished Turtleneck Shrug looks like. It will look like this (above).

You can wear it as a shrug, or you can wrap the sleeves around your neck like a scarf (like above picture). I think it's a super awesome knit. And really fast too! I am just about done the first sleeve!

Here is my progress. I am IN LOVE with the colors. It's Cascade 220 Quatro, and I'm using color 5014. I am a total pink person, so this is going to be awesome once finished. I am glad I chose this colorway!
There is ONE (1)! spot left in the September Sock Club over at my shop. Better hurry up if you are interested before someone else snags that last spot! Once the September kits are sold out, I will work on the October club kit, and as soon as I have all the details finalized, I will be putting it up for sale, and you can purchase that one up until October 1st. The October club kit will ship mid-October.

August 12 of 31

Want to win some knitting stuff?? Go on to Cass's blog and enter her contest before 2:22pm tomorrow, as it's for her 222nd post! I just entered and if you tell Cass that I referred you to the contest, I get an extra chance to win - come help me win! :)

My sister Amy has joined the blogworld and started her own blog. She doesn't knit (yet), but maybe one day she'll sit down and learn. My only problem is - I am not good with teaching people things in general. I'll have to drag her to a knitting meet-up, where I am sure there will be plenty of people who will want to teach her!

Last night I finished reading Torn Skirt by Rebecca Godfrey. Even though this book normally is not the style I read, I was intrigued. The book in the end turned out to be alright, but it's not the type of book I'd recommend, or read again. But I know that my sister will like it, it's her style of book. So that's why I passed it on to her. I've already got the next book on my list that I want to read, and I'll possibly start it tomorrow.

This afternoon I went over to my parents house to go swimming. Sean just loves being in the water. It was a nice relaxing day, I got to knit some in the pool again (I'm the master of knitting with FELTING yarn (yet!) in the water. I tested out the new waterproof digital. What a piece of crap. I'm going to do one more test on Tuesday in Sean's Aquababies class, but I believe it will be going right back after that, that afternoon.

None of my actual underwater pictures came out, but there may be potential for them to come out. Anyhow, here (above) is one picture I took of Sean in the water. You get a 34KB image, which is definitely not printable at all. I'm almost better off buying a case for my pocket digital camera, and spend the few extra bucks on that, knowing I'll get a better quality image. I think I may look into that.

Speaking of the knitting I got done in the pool, my turtleneck shrug sleeve #1 is at 19 of 23 inches. Almost there. And I should be working on Jamie's anniversary socks.... (yep, I'll get there). I will show a progress photo soon. Right now it looks like the photo I posted yesterday, just a little bit longer...!

I've been having insomnia lately. I don't know what to do about it. I think it may start to be a problem. I wonder if there is anything I can do about it. I try to sleep but I just toss and turn and toss and turn, so I get up and start doing things. I've always been a night owl... I'm most productive and creative in the wee hours of the night. But this is not healthy with a small child who (sometimes) gets up early. I'm wondering if the reason he goes to bed late (when he feels like it) is because of my habits. I've obviously considered it. And it's not an issue of not sleeping enough hours, because I actually get enough sleep once I fall asleep. It's the falling asleep part that is the trouble.

Today I tried putting Sean down in his crib with a little bear that is in a shape of a blanket, while he was groggy but not yet asleep. That didn't work out. The plans was for him to hopefully fall asleep on his own. However, a few minutes later, he's crying, and when I go to check up on him, he's sitting up in his crib, hands on the crib bars. I give him a bottle, and he's groggy even more, try to put him down in his crib, a no go either.... so I take him into bed with me (out of sheer frustration for nothing else working) and he falls asleep in my arms. I finally transfer him to his bed. This is almost midnight now. It took me over an hour to get him to sleep.

Alright, I have a few things to do, and I want to finalize my SP11 matches so I can mail them out tomorrow.
