busyparty

This morning, bright & early we had a 4th birthday party to attend. There were a lot of people at this birthday party, more than I've ever seen at a kid's birthday party in a while.

The boys had a great time playing int he gym, even though both boys were super shy when we got there. They are always like that for at least the first little bit when we get somewhere, and then they usually "warm up" and run off with their friends.

We have one more weekend of birthday parties (We've had one every weekend this month except for New Years weekend), and then I think we'll be party free for about a month or so, until Sean's friends in his class have some more birthdays. I'm not so good with these 9:30/9:45 am birthday parties... they're a little tough when you're sleep deprived with a newborn.

SPECS:
Pattern: Pompom Bear by Amanda Keeys (My Ravelry Link)
For
: Photography Prop as it's too small for Quentin
Yarn: 0.38 skeins (82.1 yards) (38 grams) of Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted
Needles
: US 6 - 4.0 mm
Size
: Newborn
Timeline: January 21, 2011 - January 22, 2011.
Modifications: Knit pattern as written with smaller needle size than required.
Modifications: I used a 4.0 mm needle trying to get a size that would fit Quentin now, since he's small, however, I went down too many sizes (pattern requires size 5.5mm/ US 9). Since I went down in needle size, I should have not knit the hat to the length of the pattern for the smallest size, I should have ended it sooner, so the hat wouldn’t have been so “tall”. But since I’ll just use it as a photo prop, it’s just as cute. Will be knitting another one, in a larger needle size, to that Quentin has room to grow in it/wear it.

I found this video of Sean when he was a around 2 and a half. It was taken on June 16th, 2009. I stumbled upon this video when backing up my files on my home office computer (the power supply blew, so I'm backing it up before it goes in for a repair/upgrade). Sean's too cute here. Love it. (Please ignore my messy bedroom. That's the mess of a 1 year old and a 2 and a half year old).

The kids & I spent the afternoon/evening at my parents house. It was wicked cold in our house due to the crazy temperatures and I wanted to be by the fireplace at my parents house (since we are out of wood here). We stayed for dinner, and then headed home around the boys bedtime.

ps- Love you too Quentin.

Oh that video is adorable! Last summer we found a bunch of videos of Beah when she was a toddler, and I almost wept. To squeeze those sweet cheeks and listen to her little baby babbly talk was a gift! :)

Love all the hand prints on the wall at whatever place you went for the party. Neat idea.
