june seven

Sean ended up waking up last night in the middle of the night (around 3 am) and spent the rest of the night in our bed. I had two great nights sleep the two previous nights, I guess I shouldn't have gotten used to it. Let's pray that the waking up in the middle of the night stops...! (Before the baby is born anyhow!) I am not sure what I am going to do once Mack is born, and he's waking up every 2-3 hours in the middle of the night. Mack will be in the basinette in our bedroom (I'm hoping he doesn't hate the basinette like Sean did). Speaking of which, I've got to get Jamie to put together the basinette. It's on the list of things to do.

This afternoon we ran errands. We went to the hardware store to get a new sprinkler for the backyard, and some pieces Jamie needed to hook up the hose, etc, and while there I picked up 3 tomato plants for the garden (1 Pink Girl, 1 Cherry Tomato & 1 Beefsteak). I know I have some healthy tomato plants in my garden, but a bunch did die, so I wanted to replace, and got variety this time. I also picked up some cucumber plants, English cucumbers this time, for the garden, since all my cucumber plants died. I did start some seeds, but I'm not sure what happened, so far, nothing. (I think I'm having bad luck with the cucumbers, and cucumbers are my FAVE vegetable - by far). Anyhow, the tomato plants I picked up are 4" and 6" plants already. The cucumbers, are like 1" and are pretty much at the same point where I left off with the last plants that I started way back when in my home "greenhouse". I'm hoping that this time they don't die. The guy in the gardening section said that I should wait until it's clear that it won't go below 4 degrees at night before planting them, that in the last few weeks have been getting cold at night. However, I think we're out of that now... especially after the 30°+ weather we had today! But maybe to be safe, I'll wait a few more days before planting them.

We did some groceries this afternoon at Costco, and I picked up some meat (beef & veal) for my homemade meat sauce. I need to make a major batch to freeze before Mackenzie is born. I'm thinking Monday I'll do it. I got to make sure it's before Mack! Otherwise it will be forever before I get around to doing it! (And we could use some meat sauce in the freezer for after he's born for some easy spaghetti meals!) Spaghetti with meat sauce is by far one of my fave meals...!

We also stopped off at Chapters, and I ran in to see if they had a book that I wanted. Jamie said I could pick out a book or two for my birthday, (on top of the iPod touch he got me!) How sweet of him!

Tonight I wound a skein for my new scarf. Took me a while to settle on a pattern, but I've decided to go with Misty Garden by Jo Sharp. I also cast on, and started the scarf. We'll see how long it takes me to knit. I should be able to get away with just 1 skein for this project, and being knit with sock yarn.

Jamie and I finished watching the movie Semi-Pro with Will Ferrell. Not a movie I'd watch again, but definitely entertaining. Will Ferrell is funny no matter what! Just like Adam Sandler, whether it's a retarded movie or not, I still like watching him. Will Ferrell is like that too. For me, anyhow.

And lastly, I was tagged by Ellen.

Nick did that waking up thing for a bit too, just once a night, but he always went back to sleep. It finally stopped when I just let him cry a bit, and he went right back to sleep, and that was the end of it. Never had a problem with it again, and Alexis wasn't like that at all. :)

Oh, you have to tell us what Sweedish Berries are! I am guessing they don't grow in the garden.
