I absolutely LOVED working with Tanis on this project.
I adore her yarn, and loved designing a pattern to go along with it.
Oh... and if you missed the boat - I've got TWO kits left!
Leave a comment or email me if you want one. ($32 shipping included)

Oh... I realized I'm a tad behind on Secret Pal Questions. I'm going to catch up.... here we go.
Secret Pal 12 - Question of the Week 10
Q- What Olympic event would best describe your knitting/knitting style?
A - Oh, this is a hard one. I didn't follow the Olympics (is that bad?). Didn't have time to turn it on tv. Sean prefers watching Caillou and Barney, so that's what we watch. (LOL). Olympic event... is there one that is "all over the place"... because I have knitting A.D.D. and cannot ever commit to one project.
Secret Pal 12 - Question of the Week 11
Q - What's the best thing you've ever received in the mail/post?
A - Oh, I love getting mail. Every day I get new treasures in the mail. The best is when it's from a swap, or books from Chapters or Amazon or some yarn for myself or even for the shop!
Secret Pal 12 - Question of the Week 12
Q - I'm sure most of us have a proudest moment when it comes to knitting. A project or technique that you've tackled and completed beautifully. What is your proudest knitting moment?
A - When I finished my first baby sweater. I was damn proud!
Q-And on the flip side? What is the one thing that you can't get right? What is that one project that you've never been able to complete? Or that you did complete but then hid away instantly because it was too embarrassing?
A - To be honest, right now there is nothing of the sort. I guess that's a good thing?
My parents came over for lunch so they could see the boys. My dad got a tricycle from his best friend that they had put away for Sean after their daughter stopped using it. Sean LOVES it. I cannot wait for him to be able to use it properly. His feet *almost* reach the peddles. Soon enough! This afternoon Jamie & I watched the movie Untraceable with Diane Lane. It was pretty good. I did some work in the shop, and got my Labor Day Sale up and running. (Everything in the shop is 20% off until Thursday night).
I also decided on using this yarn for the Mabel Scarf. I didn't want to use my Variegated Malabrigo. The scarf looks better in a solid color. I remembered I'd received this above 2 skeins as a gift from knitter in my Secret Pal group as a gift my first time hosting. She sent me a nice gift in the mail (I think her blog doesn't exist anymore, I can't find it?!) Anyhow, I think this yarn will work beautifully for the Mabel Scarf. I just don't know if I'm going to have enough yardage. Malabrigo Worsted is 216 yards (198 meters) per skein. The pattern requires either 1 or 2 skeins. In the pattern, you can make 1 length with 1 skein and another length with a second skein. 1 skein of Malabrigo makes 13 squares. She's suggested 13 or 22 squares. (Though 13 and 13 = 26). The yarn I have is 131 yards (120 meters) per skein. Hmm, I may not have enough. Malabrigo is 100g skeins, and the yarn I want to use is only 50g skeins. Maybe I need to re-think this? Or just make the scarf until I run out of yarn....?It is a gorgeous color and I don't know what else to do with it?
Wow, it's September. No idea where the year went. It's sure been flying by!
