september eight

I'm still trying to figure out how to get out of the house with 2 kids. It's impossible and takes forever (hours!). Today, I meant to get to my mothers about an hour and a bit before I actually did, and I ended up having to throw all my stuff into a bag (after getting the boys ready) and sorting through it at my mother's house. Sean was being destructive this morning). Anything I'd cleaned up, he'd dump out, or touch things he wasn't supposed to, and just causing more mess than needed. It was just one of those mornings.

I did manage to eventually get to my mother's house, and have lunch. Then we headed out to do a few errands, meeting up with my sister.

Sean needed a hair cut badly. His last one was in May before Mack was born. He was not a happy camper about it this time. He cried, and fussed but eventually with some distraction, we got him into the barber's chair. But boy did he not sit still. I'd so have chopped off his ear with my scissors if it was me giving him a haircut. I don't know how they do it! But it's a children's hair salon, so they specialize in it. Sean, as always, looked handsome after his haircut.

Next stop we went to the pet store next door. Sean got to play with a Beagle. And talk to a parrot. I think he was confused as to why the parrot could actually talk. It was funny.

Mack was in very good spirits today, and was all smiles for the most part of the day and evening. He's been such a pleasure lately. I'm not really going to complain. I think we've hit our lowest day (of him fussing, etc) and I'm hoping it just gets better from here on out....

When I got home, there was some really nice mail!

Cynthia sent me some Flat Feet as a thank you for being her SP12 Hostess. How sweet of her!

Thank you Cynthia, I love it!
I can't wait to try it out!

Does anyone have a copy of this issue of Vogue Knitting that they want to destash? If so, please let me know, I want it! It's the Spring/Summer 2008 issue. I guess being very pregnant with Mack I missed it....! And now there's something in there that's on my to-knit-list. (The ever growing to-knit-list).

I've been eye-ing some Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock that I want to add to my stash. However, the shipping is expensive. I have a 10% off coupon for being in the sock club, and I'm saving it for before my trip down to Florida this winter. I plan on shipping it to my grandmother's condo and then picking it up there and just putting the yarnie goodness into my suitcase. (Or rather carry-on. I don't want to take the chance of my suitcase getting lost! Knock on wood!) That would be just my luck!) So for now, I'll drool over some more BMFA's STR..... and on my list also is: Sundara Sock yarn, I'd love to get just ONE skein, but it seems like everyone destashing it on Ravelry wants to trade only for another colorway of Sundara. Also, I'd love some Misti Alpaca Sock yarn (In oh, I dono, Miriam or Marino), and as well some Malabrigo Sock Yarn (Oh in Lettuce or Caribeno or Velvet Grapes for example! Even Solis is nice!). They're on my want list. Yum!

Chilled tonight and watched some TV with Jamie. I need to post some progress pictures of the blankie project. There are some new squares!

Such a cute picture of Sean getting his hair cut, and at the pet store. My nephew loves going to the pet store to look at and play with the animals.

That Flat Feet looks interesting. I can't wait to see how it knits up for you. That's something I haven't tried...think I've seen it posted on another blog somewhere, but not sure where.

Glad Mack wasn't fussy today and was full of smiles. Such a cute little fellow too!

Yeah, I am wanting to see the malabrigo sock. I should be getting in a new base very soon that's very similar to the Malabrigo fingering. I can't wait to see how it dyes up!

As for Sundara, I have yet to get my hands on any too. I actually joined the Seasons club to make it so I could get some. If there are any colorways in the Winter season that I don't love, I'll be happy to destash it your way. I'll let you know!

Beagles are such cute dogs. And I can imagine the confusion when a parrot talks to you for the first time.

Great color on the flat feet. I love that idea. (Although I haven't knitted mine yet!)
