Happy St. Patty's Day

Sean is usually a very happy baby... smiling away, laughing, and all that good jazz...

I love love love his smiles. They are just perfect.

He even wore green today for St. Patrick's day - and to be honest, that was just fluke... I totally even forgot that it was St. Patty's day until someone reminded me... So while out today, my mom picked him up a hat and we photographed him all dressed in his greenery!

And for the last 24 hours, I've been with a screaming baby, to which, I don't know what to do...

For those of you readers of mine, that have kids....

For the first time ever, I've got a screaming baby. This is a kid who only cries to let you know he's hungry. But for the past 24 hours he's been screaming like I've never heard him scream before.

He's only 11 weeks old or 2 and a half months. Is it too early for him to be teething? (I don't mean actual teeth coming in, but maybe his gums are sore?) What to Expect the First Year is being useless to me today....

He felt a little warm tonight, so I gave him some infant tempra, and now he's out cold hopefully for the night, poor kid... I want to soothe him, I just don't know this cry, it's a new one!

Any advice??

I got my wedding album today, I'll photograph what it looks like tomorrow to give you a sneak peak - all I have to say - is that it's gorgeous!!! I love it to pieces!

Tonight Jamie & I watched the Habs kick the Maple Leaf's butts.... what a great game, even if we did go to overtime.... We NEEDED that point - so that we still have a chance to go to the playoffs.... my fingers are crossed!

After the Habs game, we *tried* watching the movie Lady in the Water. It's with Paul Giamatti.

Here is the synopsis:

Apartment building superintendent Cleveland Heep (Giamatti) rescues what he thinks is a young woman from the pool he maintains. When he discovers that she is actually a character from a bedtime story who is trying to make the journey back to her home, he works with his tenants to protect his new friend from the creatures that are determined to keep her in our world.

Garbage I tell you.... garbage. We couldn't even watch an hour of it. Garbage... blech!

Sorry for crying baby. No, its not too early for teething, but maybe baby has gas? My little guy used to cry like crazy when he did. Try gas drops for baby... get a drugstore for a couple dollars.

I really like your blog! I live in NH, and go to Montreal about once a year.

Sorry that I have no advice, just empathy! It's got to be frustrating not to know what's going on. Hopefully one of the suggestions you get from other moms will work.

poor guy, my sister told me about gas drops called Oval (they are in a pink box) if you can get them in Quebec, they are a MIRACLE within just a couple minutes if it was gas, you'll have a very happy baby again :) I LOVE this stuff, if it's a tummy ache maybe Gripe Water would help, that you can find just about anywhere. If you can't gt Oval, there is another brand for babies, I just can't think what it's called, check out the baby section in the drugstore/supermarket or the pharmacy as well it's also there ): or even talk to the pharmacist, i've done it when the girls have had colds and such and they will recommend over the counter stuff too help you :) Hope I helped you some :)

Crying baby = no fun! Very few babies teeth this early, however, it is possible (just *very* unlikely). My girl had alot of crying spells her first few months and we did the basics (swaddle, rock, bounce, white noise) which did help some. As she got older it seemed (and still does) that when she gets frustrated by something (hungry, tired, gas, wanting to do something else) she will have mini fits...but it's easier when their older to figure it out.

I hope you all are having a better day today! All the best!

It is hard for a mother to go through that part of being a mother. Crying baby, Don't know what to do. I agree it might be gas, or he might be teething.

WHat a cute st. pattys day outfit. Adorable. I love the hat and dino shirt the best.

Screaming.. hmm.. is he constipated? I remember Caleb would SCREAM when he hadnt pooped for a day or two. Or if he had bad gas.
Id usually lay him over my lap on his belly and massage his back to help.

Keep us posted.
I dont think it be teething.

Sorry to hear that Sean is being a fussy face, (that's what we call Scout when she's having one of those days). I usually try to check off all the problems that it could be: diaper, wet clothes (from spit up or drool), gas, hungry, tired... Usually when Scout is really fussy it's because she's tired and having a hard time going to sleep. As for the teething, they say the "average" age of a teething baby is around 7 months, though it can occur as early as 3 months. If he's teething (or you think that he is), check his temperature. Is he drooling a lot? Does he have cold symptoms? Those are a couple things to look for. Other than that, warm baths might help. Hope he feels better tomorrow!
