march eight :: 31 days :: day eight

Day Eight. Lazy day.

My friend Lauren has some awesome stuff on her Etsy site - check her out! She calls herself Flutterflies. Some gorgeous necklaces & bracelets. I love it!

My sister mentioned to me today that it's daylight savings over night tonight. I had NO idea! I would never have known if she didn't tell me! (Well, my computer & cell phone would have changed times and I would have been all confused tomorrow, but glad that I know!) 2 am, March 9th - Daylight savings time for those of you whom need to change clock times ahead.... I can't believe it's already that time of the year.

Today is my father's birthday - Happy Birthday Daddy! (He doesn't read my blog - but I wanted to give him a shout out!) (He doesn't understand why people blog....)

Today we sat around in our pj's all day. Literally. Jamie did go out for a hair cut though, but he's the only one who left the house. Lunch & Dinner consisted of leftovers. I did do a few things around the house that needed to get done, but it was a true chill day. Much needed.

We watched the movie We Own the Night. Eh, not my style. Jamie didn't really like it either.

It's a NASTY blizzard here. We've gotten a LOT of snow. More snow than I'm sure the city knows what to do with.

I finally got the credit I needed for a new cell phone, so I may go tomorrow to get that done. Since the law passed here in Quebec, and as of April 1st, 2008 you will no longer be able to talk on a cell phone unless it's hands-free while driving, I had to get a blue tooth cell phone for the hands free unit that my dad got for each of us. It's a neat system, but I was the only one who didn't have a cell phone capable of hooking up to it (damn Telus!) Anyhow, there is a pink (yes pink!) cell phone that is in the credit range so I'll be getting that one. What's neat is that it has MSN Messenger capabilities - how cool is that? Now, if I could just figure out if that phone can get me on the web - hee hee!

Day Eight. Spend no money, didn't even leave the house. Though, I'm soooooooooooooooo tempted to shop online. And there is now a list of things that I want to get/buy, I've been writing them down in file, and I'm so ready to cave - it's not funny.

I'm behind on my emails.... though I tossed out a bunch of replies tonight. Though, there are still 183 emails left in my inbox.... (I'll get to them!) Promise! And I'm also behind on some blog reading (not all - but some!) I did get a few rows knitted on the baby surprise jacket, hoping to see the end sometime soon.....?

I want to get into a really good book. I'm borrowing this one and that one from my sister tomorrow, (though I have a ton of un-read books in my own house.... just nothing that I want to read at this moment...!) I'll keep you posted on when I start those how they are (they are in the same series)....

Yes, I did get some cucumber sandwhiches. I've been holed up working to 3 am every night on school work so never personally made it to the store but I heard my parents were going and got them to pick some up for me. I even got a photograph as evidence to put up on my blog for you :) It's just a matter of if I ever find a minute to blog. School is really going to kill me :(

Your friend has some really pretty items on her etsy site!

I guess back home they've gotten a zillion tons of snow this winter - several storms. They are running out of salt for the streets and are mixing sand with what they do have I guess...

I am trying not to buy things this month as well, first to see if I can and second becuase I want to save money for a trip to Vegas in April, but the internet is my downfall, it is so easy to shop online here! I did buy a $10 purse on ebay(but it is cute and was only $10!0, and I bought a hat last week, but I have been doing better than I expected. You are still kicking my butt though, thank goodness the month is almost 1/2 over!

Sorry about the blizzard. I'll send some of our warm weather your way! At least you can snuggle up in the house with your boys and watch a movie or play a game!

Can't wait to see the sweater!

Am I a jerk for being a tiny bit jealous of the blizzard? We just keep getting rain, rain, rain. I want it to end soon!

cute stuff in the etsy shop - it never ever blizzards here that is a completely alien concept to me. All I can imagine is being able to wear all my knitted items and some more.....

I've gotta tell you, this slow month has been really making me more aware of my purchases. Thank goodness we can at least still get groceries. Not sure how I'd manage without fresh fruit and veggies! I did have to make some unavoidable purchases though--like springing for my sister's bday dinner. I think I've been pretty good though. I'm more tempted by yarn/cds/books than anything I see irl. hope you haven't caved! you're nearly halfway through.

I think that daylight savings was early this year. You're not alone, it freaks me out every year. ;)
