Day Seven. Busy busy day.....
This morning I dropped off my car at Acura for a cleaning. They were having a promotion while I was there the other day, and decided to take them up on it. My car was absolutely filthy. A pig sty. I was embarrassed to be in my car with guests. Sean has spilled things and crumbs have gotten everywhere. It hadn't been cleaned in months. It's also not good for me to have a dirty company car. If I owned my car, maybe it would be a different story, maybe I wouldn't care so much.
So my mom took Sean & I out for a few hours while my car was at Acura. It's always nice spending time with my mom and I know she loves to spend as much time as she can with Sean. My parents just love him. (The way it's supposed to be!)
First stop was at Walmart. I returned something I'd bought a few weeks ago for storage that was no good. Next stop was at the grocery store next door where I exchange a ton of cans & bottles for money. (Each can & bottle is worth 5 cents). I made almost 10$ this morning. 2.95$ got spent on a blue slushie at the mall because I was a) thirsty like you wouldn't believe and b) in need of some sugar to keep me awake. It had to be blue. I was craving the blue slushie. Yes, I had a blue tongue afterwards (I should have taken a picture).

My parents bought us a gift today (THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!) We got this Graco Quattro Duo at the Baie today (in the color above called Ionic) which we already have the baby carrier for (as I have the single Graco Quattro stroller (the same model just single and in brown). To be honest, the Safety 1st Double Stroller I bought at Walmart a few weeks back doesn't fit in my trunk (and I didn't even try to put it in, it just does NOT fold down) and I can't lift it. (How the heck am I supposed to put it in and out of my car??) This new stroller is SOOO lightweight and it's great! And it folds down 20% smaller than any other double stroller. Walmart gives you 90 days to return, so the stroller will be going back by Monday.
Speaking of Walmart returns - I went to Walmart this morning to bring back a Winnie The Pooh Storage piece that I bought just two or three weeks ago, and the woman gave me back my money, but she told me that as of the week of the 20th (she couldn't remember which date as of that week) liquidation items at Walmart are FINAL SALE. No more refunds. They're cracking down. Just wanted to share this info. I often buy liquidation clothes for Sean in larger sizes when they're a good price, and sometimes have gone back with returns if he doesn't end up wearing, and it's within the 90 days that Walmart allows. Well, be sure when you buy a liquidation item at Walmart from now on. If it's a liquidation item from BEFORE this date, they have to still take it back because there is no mention of on the invoice - but all new invoices are now marked apparently. Good to know.
I've been cleaning up Sean's current room, which is the baby's room and organizing his big boy room for Sean's arrival to that room in a few weeks. I've also been going through Sean's baby stuff and organizing it so it's handy for baby boy number 2. Anyhow, I finally put all of Sean's out grown shoes & slippers into one area..... and this is what I got. A FULL HUGE Rubbermaid tub full. He has a larger shoe collection that I do. I wonder if he has more shoes than his Auntie Amy? Yeah, I couldn't believe how many pairs of shoes he had...... and they're all newborn to toddler size 4. He's in 5 now, almost to be in 5.5 (which I just learned exists).... I have 2 pairs of 5.5 waiting for him, and 2 pairs of 6. Just 2 pairs - not like the extensive shoe collection he had when he wasn't even walking!
This evening my in-laws came over for dinner and stayed for a little bit afterwards. We had homemade chinese food and it was delicious!
Have you seen this photo?? That's a LOT of yarn!
Still a possibility I'm looking for commenter 3616 before March 22nd, 2008, my 1000th post. Please keep on commenting if you want to win!
I was playing around with my Canon Rebel XT yesterday before the sun was gone (I love natural light) and I will leave you today with these images (my fave from all of them yesterday, which will all go eventually into my FLICKR - I'm slowly uploading all my outstanding photos. (Getting there as I do a huge computer file clean up to organize all my photos better).
Day Seven. Went shopping but did returns, didn't buy anything. It's been one week and I've been trying to keep myself from spending! It's so hard. Really. Especially when you are used to buying whatever you want. I did make almost 10$ today returning my recyclable cans!
ps - I've been knitting away at the baby surprise jacket, photos to come this weekend.

Your camera really captures the colours well! I'm thinking of getting a nice camera sometime soon...one like my old SLR only in digital form. I like being able to take nice pictures and blur the backgrounds, etc. My point and shoot digital camera works good and takes nice pictures, but I'd like to be able to do the things I could with my SLR...
Darn did it save my original comment??? I got an error. I had said that it was a good thing that shoes are reusable for your coming little boy because that is a LOT of shoes. And that I loved the candy shots!
I really like the photos of the peeps and the licorice.
I love the candy photos! Especially the first licorice one. I have a GIANT sweet tooth! I can't believe that giant tub of shoes. But I do always think baby shoes are so cute when I see them in the store. SO little!
pretty licorice -- would make a nice sock yarn colour scheme!
that stroller is wicked! should eb great for transporting 2 munchkins around! Perfect!
love the candy pics! peeps always reminds me of easter and springtime. they are just so fun!
I'm glad you got a diffrent double stroller, The Saftey 1st one is the exact same one I had for the girls, I. HATE. IT. it did'nt fit in the car, it was REALLY difficult to push, an all around royal pain!! at least I only needed it a couple months, after fighting with it all the time I just bought an umbrella stroller for Les and Megan walks herself
Umm...I have a Shoe wheel [holds 20], an under the bed storage unit full, and those things that hang down in the closet where it has compartments for shoes, 3 of them full :) I think Aunti Amy wins in the Shoe department :)
One day maybe!
mmmmmm, your candy pics looks yummy!! I love red licorice!!!
I love the first licorice picture! I totally love rainbow licorice. Yum.
Wow! That is a lot of shoes! Kaya has no where near that many shoes and I MAKE them!
Fun for baby boy number two, because I'm sure they are still as good as new for him.
That's A LOT of shoes! :)
I love the licorice picture. Yum!
That licorice picture is great, makes me think that spring might be here soon! I'm hoping to make it to the next knit night, it just seems every time I've planned on going in the past little bit, either we've had a snow storm, or I've ended up having to work late! No fair! Thanks for visiting my blog!
The snow/ice is pelting my window and the peeps look like spring! When or when will it be SPRING!!!!
I've been thinking of your slow month every time I pull out my VISA, and it has curbed some of my spending, but does a one-year gym membership count? It's not as if I brought anything else into the house, and it's for my health, so that can't count, right? The answer I am looking for is yes. :)
CUTE STROLLER!!
how nice that your parents got you that stroller! lightweight is definitely key..as well as being able to fit in your trunk! oh, i love the licorice pictures. makes me want to have some now!
love the pics and thanks...now i want a slushie...for breakfast ;)
Mmmmmmmm, you made me want to buy candy!
