november six

My 15 minutes of fame! LOL! I'm in Le Journal de Montréal this morning! Page 51! Love it! (This morning after dropping off Sean at daycare, I ran across the street to the dépaneur and bought the last 8 copies that he had left). I'm going to put one in Sean's memory box, one for Mack's memory box and keeping a copy for myself. I have another 2 copies to cut out, one for Sean's baby book and another for Mack's baby book. And another I want to frame. Jamie took a copy to work with him, and the last 2.... not sure, but I have them in case my grandmother or my in-laws didn't get a copy.

Sock progress. I told you! Isn't she beautiful? Too bad I can't keep this sock. It's a test knit for someone else. I cannot wait to be finished this already. So many other things to knit!

Sean's new Nunu's came in the mail. I am hoping that he doesn't notice the difference between the three. The old one, will be left at daycare. I was going to leave it there today, but Sean was a little sick last night, and even though Nunu got a bath this morning (in the washing machine), even though it got a bath, even Febreeze couldn't get the smell out. So this evening I had to wash it again, twice more, once using bleach. I had to get the smell out. Even the house had to be aired out. Between Sean being sick last night, and me this evening, I've had to leave windows open and burn scented candles. Oh, I hope I don't have the flu. That would suck. I haven't been sick in forever though, maybe it was due time.

Thinking about it - when I put Mack to bed last night, I thought I smelled something funky in the hallway. Though, I couldn't place it. Had I realized what it was - that Sean was sick in bed, I would have changed him and his sheets last night. Poor guy, slept in that all night long. I honestly have no idea how some mothers do it. My own mother was the type to caress my back and hold my hair in a ponytail when I was younger and sick over the toilet bowl. Man, I'm the mother who is sick with her child over the toilet bowl, because I can't handle it. How am I supposed to comfort my child when I'm right there with him. Anyone else experience this? Are you like me? Or are you good at controlling your sense? Please tell me I'm not alone!

Anyhow, I'm off to bed ealry because I hope to wake up feeling better tomorrow. Sean was still not 100% tonight (eating habits off, etc), but he has no fever (I have slight, and took some tylenol), and I'm hoping he's okay tomorrow morning.

Oh no! I hope you guys are feeling better. Luckily, Monkey has only been sick twice in her life. Once when she was an infant, so that didn't really count. The second time, she ate some blueberry yogurt that didn't agree with her and spewed the stuff all over my lap. To this day, I can't stand the smell of blueberry yogurt.
So, no, you're not the only one.

Ooh you had your picture taken with Patrice Brisebois - that is so awesome! I love the Habs. I'm hoping to see them in February when they're visiting the Oilers.

June was only sick like that once and I couldn't believe it when I went in to get her in the morning and found puke EVERYWHERE. and I mean, EVERYWHERE. I felt SO bad that she slept in that all night, but why didn't she wake up and cry or do something to alert me to the fact that she was sick?? We keep the baby monitor on in our room and I didn't even hear her throw up, let alone cry or anything, I don't understand it!

I agree about the smell though, it's awful! I had to keep her window open for days to air it out and light tons of scented candles and room spray and everything! And I had to wash everything like 3 times too...ugh.

You're totally famous!

That eggplant colored socks is very pretty. Not too bad for a test knit!

Cool journal photo! (Although their caption writer should have paid closer attention...I believe Sean is to the left of your mom...) :)

One time I baby sat a little girl that barfed everywhere and there was whole orange chunks in it..ewwee. I lost it and threw up over top of it. I admit the smell of vomit is horrrible. I just get the job done as quickly as humanly possible now, it's a little different with my own. LOL but still..totally awefully yucky.

Aw, sorry to hear you guys were sick. I'm afraid it doesn't really bother me when the kids are sick, the adrenaline kicks in and I'm all about the making it better. Maybe when they're older it'll gross me out, but for now it's all the same to me.
