february fourteen :: Hallmark Holiday

I got this Be Mine bib for Mackie, so I had to photograph him wearing it. I have a bunch of themed ones (Hallowe'en), Christmas, St. Patty's Day, Valentine's Day, Chanukah, and even a Passover one somewhere. I was saving it for today, it's brand new, so now I can let him wear it as much as it's washed. I thought it was cute and appropriate for today.

Mack's been in a great mood today. So cute sitting in the little chair in my bedroom.

I love little toes, don't you?

My in-law's came over for dinner tonight, and my step-mother-in-law showed me how to properly purée to make for Mack. We tried out a zucchini tonight. He even got to try it for dinner, and actually liked it. I've never seen zucchini in a jar as baby food, so I thought I'd start with a vegetable that was not available.

I also learned how to make soup. I've been wanting to make soup for a while now, and honestly, since I'm a visual learner, I wanted someone to show me how to make it for the first time, before attempting to screw it up on my own. So we pulled out my vintage blender (my step-mother-in-law was in awe of it) and made some soup! I have a hunch I'll be using that blender quite often now. It's a hand-me-down blender from my grandmother. Thank you Bubbie!

The soup is a pure vegetable soup, with an onion stock base, and I just threw in whatever vegetables I had in the fridge (cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, and celery, green beans) and added spices and boiled everything. Once all the vegetables were soft, we mixed it up in the blender and voila... soup! A very tasty soup might I add. (Next time I will not use as much pepper, it's a little too spicy but still good).

This evening I stayed in after my in-laws left, and Jamie went to his regular Saturday night hockey game, (he plays with my brother). So I caught up on some TV, and did some knitting related stuff. (No actual knitting for tonight though, unfortunately).

In shop news, I've listed in the shop a Mini Skein of the Month Club for all you Mitered Square Blanket lovers. There is a 1 month or 3 month option for Canada, USA & International. I hope you'll join us in the club, it's going to be awesome. I've also re-stocked the Clear Ball Stitch Markers in the shop. Also re-stocked is One of A Kind Lace in all 3 multi colors. I've got some new stuff coming into the shop this week, so stay tuned!

Oh, yeah, Happy Valentine's Day! We don't celebrate too much around here. We don't need a holiday to tell each other that we love them. It's just not our thing. Plus, chocolate and everything Valentine's related is over priced and well... I call it a "Hallmark Holiday". Though, if you're celebrating, I won't ruin your fun. So have a good one with lots of chocolates & kisses.

Oh how cute! What a great idea to have mini skein club! Shame I can't do anymore big spending for about a month.

Hi, Robyn! Just checking in - I haven't been blogging too much, but I'm trying to make the rounds to see how my online pals are doing. The kiddos are so handsome and getting big! You can tell that you have fun each day.
Hope everything is going well.

Baby toes!!! So adorable.

Really, I need to invest in a better camera. I'm not getting the money shots with my point and shooter!
