march seventeen :: 9 months old / 39 weeks old

Mack is 9 months old today, and as well 39 weeks old.

Before I forget, Happy St. Patrick's Day!
(This morning Sean's class had lucky charms for breakfast, for the holiday, I'm so afraid he'll ask for it again, and I'm so not buying that crap. I don't understand how a breakfast full of sugar is a good idea at daycare? I do suppose it's not every morning, and just for the holiday today).

This morning while at the Post Office, Mack was singing away, and then all of a sudden he was out cold, fast asleep. I wish I had the ability to do that! Anyhow, it was just too cute, I had to snap a photo.

Today after a ton of errands I had to run in the morning, I got together with a friend of mine, and her son Aiden, and we went for a nice long walk. I wanted to see how long it would take to walk from my house to Sean's daycare, so first we tested that out. 25 minutes with stopping for my friend's dog who kept wanting to sniff everything. I'm sure if I was alone, it would take me a lot less time to walk there. But now I know for future, as I do plan on starting to walk a lot more once the spring comes.

So we passed the daycare, and headed to the mall that is around the corner from the daycare, as I had a few things that I needed to pick up, including stuff for dinner. After we were done our errands in that mall, we turned back towards the daycare to pick up Sean.

Sean, ready to go with his Goldfish snack and his St. Patrick's Day "birthday hat" as he called it, I put him in the jogging stroller, and wore Mack in a sling. I didn't have any other choice, but this was the plan. There was no way I was going to take an hour and a half to walk home with Sean, who is Mr. Slowpoke, or will want to run everywhere that I don't want him to run, so the best bet was to put him in the stroller.

Here's a picture of the 3 of us, during our walk today. Holy Moly what a workout that was, with wearing Mack. Maybe I'll do it this way more often, to burn off more calories! It was a nice walk, and I had a good chat with my friend that I was with. It's been really nice re-connecting with her since we lost touch back in High School after we graduated. It honestly brought us back together by having kids at the same time. Otherwise, I'd never have re-connected with her, I don't think. Though, maybe we'd have still run into each other at Costco that day we did, and still have chatted... I don't know?

I promised you knitting content.... so here's the updated picture of the progress of my step-mother-in-laws vest. The back is complete. I've since cast on the right front part. Getting there! Hope to give her this vest as soon as possible. I even picked up some extra foam boards for blocking since my other boards are currently occupied.

I am so glad that I took advantage of the great weather today and got to go for a walk. It must have been plus 8 degrees. Or maybe even a little warmer. Spring - I love it!

Tonight was another chill night at home, on the couch with Jamie and my knitting. I love that both boys go to bed at the same time and we have the rest of our evenings to ourselves. I never had given Sean a bedtime until he was over a year old (a first time parent mistake - and boy did we learn out lesson) and it's just so nice to have time to ourselves, with peace & quiet and no kid sitting on top of the other kid, and no toys being thrown.... and no messes once they're in bed. Ahhhh... I love it, though I love them and their messes more. Really. I do.

That's a great way to burn more calories, you're right! Plus being outside just makes you feel good this time of year, doesn't it?

I love the green shot of you and Mack. Is Mack really that old? Wow. Time flies.

I like this idea of walking places like Sean's daycare. I used to walk to the grocery stores near my old houses, but this new one requires walking across a very busy bridge where there is no pedestrian pathway. Ah well. 30 pound bags of dog food are hard to carry home anyway...

Also snow? People here are in shorts and tee-shirts and we're topping 80oF. Tomorrow I think I need to take a picture of the backyard and post it because it is SO green.
