Quentin is 10 weeks old today.
Sean is 214 weeks old today.
This morning my dad picked me up bright & early and gave Quentin & myself a lift to the Montreal Children's Hospital. We got there early, but had to wait about an hour and a bit past our appointment time to see the doctor. We finally saw a resident (same that we saw while we were in Emergency a few weeks ago when they sent us up to ENT (Ears, Nose, Throat)). Quentin got scoped again (apparently this will happen every time we go) and my dad had to hold his hands down, while I held his head with my hands and his legs in between my thighs. It's so hard to watch him get scoped. We were sent for him to get his blood gas checked, and his levels were actually a lot better today than they were when we left the hospital. Which is good news. We now have to go back in 2 weeks from now. Depending on how each appointment goes we might have to go weekly or bi-weekly to the hospital to see this doctor. Fun. We'll be going until things change and he requires surgery, or until he outgrows his Laryngomalacia. Could be 1-2 years, could be 4-5 years. This many visits, is going to be fun. Not looking forward to it. Especially if our appointments are always late (like it was today). At least I'd get a lot of knitting or reading done while waiting - but still. I could bitch and say that going downtown so often is a) expensive on gas, b) expensive on paying for parking and even though I know it's necessary for Quentin to be followed, it's too bad that there isn't somewhere closer to home that he could get monitored, but alas, if you're going to be anywhere, it's great to be at the Montreal Children's Hospital. And I have to count my blessings and I know that this is just temporary and worst things in the world could have been.
I did start a new project while waiting for our appointment.
This afternoon (after spending way more time than expected at the hospital this morning), I set up Quentin in a bounce chair and set out time to use the treadmill. Day 2.
Then, I decided that I would try taking knitting to the next level. Knitting on the treadmill. I was able to do it - while breaking a sweat! I continued working on Wyatt. Such a quick knit so far - hopefully I can finish it soon. What's great is that the pattern goes up to sizes 5/6T so I plan to knit one for Sean and one for Mack. It'll be so cute. Too bad I don't have all the same color for all 3 sweaters. Though, variety will be nice too.
After working out on the treadmill, I was able have some time to take a nice long hot bath and read more in a book I'm currently reading. I started this book just before Quentin was born, but since then, I haven't picked up any book, let alone this one. I'm about 85 pages into the book. So far, I'm really enjoying it. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it soon.
