Today was a rainy gross day. The rain turned to hail for a bit, and then to a light snow which melted by the time it hit the ground. It's a damn good thing I didn't wear my spring jacket today, it was cold, and dreary...!
My first stop this morning was to get Sean his Rack-a-Stack from Toys R Us. From his 5$ that he got on Monday night, he has .47 cents left which I put in his piggy bank. While there, the Bumbo's were staring at me straight in my face. They're more expensive than the bebePOD, but it came with a free tray (15$ value) and what I liked about this one over the Pod, is that it's soft material, rather than the Pod, that is Hard plastic. The bumbo looks soo much more comfortable! Sean likes it already!
Did a bunch of errands today with my mom, and had lunch & dinner at my parents house. I had forgotten my cell phone at my parents house last night, so I felt so lost without it today. Not that I use it much, but there is always the feeling of safety with a cell incase anything should happen while driving... you know?
I got couch covers for our couches in the basement, a nice deep lime green, I'll take pictures once it's all covered, and pretty. I have to finish airing out the couch we just got, and Febreeze it, since it still has a slight odor to it. (Jamie says where it came from, the apartment had an odd odor in it to begin with)... It's going to look very nice! I am glad we decided to use some of my income tax refund money for small renovations or upliftings in the house! We've already done the floor by the garage entrance (I'll photograph what Jamie did too soon), and things are starting to feel a little more "homey".... Even though this is our house/home, etc... it's slowly starting to come together... you know!?
I've been getting more Etsy orders lately, and this side business of stitch markers is just way too much fun for me. The HOT item right now is my personalized name stitch markers. A great gift for your SP1o Partner! I can ship directly to them, with a personalized note. I've already done about 5 or 6 different sets, through Etsy and via personal orders! I find making them so relaxing!
My first copy of my new Interweave Knits subscription came in the mail today. I can't wait to go through it, and read it! The pattern that I want (on my sidebar wishlist) is on the back of the current issue, (the green cabled pullover sweater) and it's staring at me in the face... I really want to use my green cascade superwash to make that sweater! Hmm.... If I don't get it for my birthday, maybe I'll use birthday money to get it...
A sweater I want to make Jamie from one of Vogue Knitting's recent issues requires 25 balls of yarn. I told Jamie that if it's 10$ balls of yarn, that's not going to happen - but if I can find a yarn that is suitable price, then I'll make it for him for his birthday. It's a gorgeous cabled sweater.
I cast on this evening for Mini-Clapotis (like I need another WIP!) I have done Section 1 and I'm in the middle of working on Section 2. As soon as there is progress, I will post a picture. Right now, there is not much to look at! (Yet!)
So, I've decided, why should I have to pay 750$ to fix the half-ass job that my tenant's jobber guy did to install a washer & dryer in the apartment? In the lease, as I stated in yesterday's post, she is responsible for the cost. So, she is going to pay for the repairs. I spoke to my lawyer, and he says that if I go to the rental board with it, that I'll win. It'll probably cost me 60$ to file an application with them, but that she is responsible for damages, and this is considered a great damage, especially since when she's using the dryer, it damages my roof/house. I refuse to pay for what needs to be repaired, and it needs to be repaired. Originally I thought I could take her to small claims court, but it's the rental board that apparently handles this. I'm going to call them tomorrow, and see what they have to say, and where to go from here.
Whenever I think of her, and the situation, I get very angry. Anger is not good. Sean senses when I'm angry. It's not good.
However, a lease will be signed on Friday. I've heard nothing but good things so far about the students when calling their Resident Advisors (R.A's). And, I'm having their parents co-sign for the apartment, a letter has been written up, emailed to the 4 students, and their parents will print it out, sign it, photocopy a government piece of ID and mail it to me. So their lease will be dependant on getting back all 4 parental signed letters.
Anyhow, to cool off, I'm going to go shower and head to bed early. This mommy needs some sleep and will be sleeping in tomorrow. Sean and I will go back to bed tomorrow morning after he's done his morning feeding. I'm in need of sleep!

What a great picture of Sean. That's great that you found new tenants for your place. You are so right about that tenant of yours. If the lease says that she is responsible for the damages that the washer and dryer created, she shoud defintely pay for the damages. Good Luck with your phone call tomorrow. Hope you get the answers you are looking for.
Mines soft like the bumbo. I like either one :-) I didnt realize the bumbo cost more though.
Ive seen the trays on ebay. They fit the bebepod ones 2. I think they had them for 9.99
We have a bumbo also! We love it! The bebepod wasn't out when we bought ours! I ended up getting mine off of ebay! I hope everything works out with the rental board! Seems pretty clear cut since it is in the lease!
Sean looks so comfy in his new chair, can't wait too see your mini Clapotis :)
I agree that your tenant should definitely pay! If you wouldn't have had that expense "but for" her actions, it seems you have a clear cut case. Hopefully she will pay and you won't have to take her to court though.
That bumbo chair looks comfy! Sean really looks a lot like you in that picture.
that bumbo looks really cool! I should tell my bro about it for my niece. :) glad to hear that you're all set regarding new tenants! yay!! as for your current tenant..ugh..she's got nerve and why she chooses to make the last two months or so miserable for you, I have no idea.
Sean looks so adorable! You know, sometimes rainy days are perfect for just sittin' knittin'!
I just got a Bumbo for my two baby grandchildren....I love them! Don't you like the way they sit up at attention in them? And, they can see everything that is going on around them and stay happier so much longer. By the way, Sean is beautiful.
What a neat chair for Sean. Wish I had seen one of those before my little one started sitting on his own!
