But... I just wanted the book...!

I just got this email....

Hello from Amazon.ca.

We're sorry to report we won't be able to obtain the following item from your order:

Nancy Bush (Author) "Knitting on the Road : Sock Patterns forthe Traveling Knitter" [Spiral-bound]

Although we'd expected to be able to send this item to you, we've since found it's not available from any of our sources at this time. We realize this is disappointing news to receive, and we apologize for any inconvenience we've caused you. We must apologize also for the length of time it's taken us to reach this conclusion. Until recently, we'd still hoped to obtain this item for you.

We've cancelled this item from your order.

But.... I just wanted this book. It's not available via amazon.ca or chapters.ca now.... what to do?

I think you can order it directly from Interweave Press:
At least it comes up as an item for purchase. I just searched for Nancy Bush - Knitting on the Road on Yahoo. It is also available here: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/1883010918/ref=dp_olp_2/701-7351965-6140342 as a new or used book offered from a private seller.

Hope you find it.

Does Amazon.ca have options to buy books from other people? Amazon.com doesn't have it either, but they have 11 "used and new" copies, and the new ones are brand new, not used-but-look-new. You might try that... Good luck!

Have you ever tried searching on www.bestwebbuys.com? The have a price comparison feature that's really great (only American, but still good for us Montrealers), and it gives a general idea of where to locate hard to find books (I found a couple of out of print Alice Starmore books through them). Anyway, search the following ISBN number, and you should get a bunch of hits: 9781883010911

Hi again,

I can't believe I didn't suggest this in my earlier comment, but a great Canadian resource for knitting books is the needle arts bookshop (http://needleartsbookshop.com/). They also have it in stock.
