april twenty-two :: Earth Day

Today as I put on one of Sean's shows that he watches on PBS Kids, I was SHOCKED to see this birthday up on the screen. This is the boy, Mackenzie, whom our Mackenzie was named after, who drowned in 2006. I am not sure if this was an old recording or if PBS just uses the same birthdays year after year? It was just weird. There is a fundraiser next week that Jamie and I are deciding if we will be going. We really want to go, it's just a matter of a few things that are making the final decision.

I got some exciting mail today, from Bea! She sent me some yarn, and some leftover tidbits for my Sock Blanket Project (which I plan to get cracking on once my deadlines are over). The yarn she sent me was her own handpaint in Yarn Pig Silk Sock in the Colorado Colorway. Thanks so much Bea - I love it!

I also got in the mail today in honor of Earth Day, a recyclable tote bag from Green Couch Designs, my friend Cynthia's company! It's super cute, and good for the earth! I plan to take it with me on my next shopping trip!

Isn't the design just fabulous??

Tonight, the Habs were eliminated from the playoffs. Boston made a clean sweep and have won the last 4 games. Tonight's score was 4-1. Since I went to the Habs game on Monday night with my mom, I told Jamie he could go out tonight to watch the game at a friend's house and I moved West Island Knits/Crochet to tomorrow night. Instead, I stayed in and did work. By the time I put both kids to sleep, I had turned on the game for a minute and we were actually winning 1-0. But that score obviously didn't last very long. Too bad. I was hoping we'd have a chance in our 100th year. Oh well, there's always next year.

Hope you all had a very nice Earth Day, and are doing things to change the way we all live by making this world a cleaner place.

Woohoo! I'm so glad it arrived & you like it!!! CP put them on some weird delivery somehow and they are sure taking their time to arrive, even locally. Some still haven't! Yet some made it to NY in a couple of days!

Love the yarn from Bea- what a pretty colourway!
