may twenty-two

I got a good night sleep last night. I went up to bed early. First I knit a little on Judy's Grandmother's Baby Sweater, while watching some TV. Jamie got home and I knitted some more in bed and then when we turned off the TV, I read a bit in my book until I was ready to crash. Sean slept through the night. It had been a while since he'd slept through the entire night. He gave me from 9:15 pm ish or so, until 6:15 am. We went back to sleep until 8 am. Jamie woke me up so I could call the hospital at 8 am - which is the time that the Obstetrical Ultrasound department opens. The lady who answered the phone wanted to give me an appointment for tomorrow, but I opened my mouth and got 1pm today. I then went back to sleep after telling Jamie to wake me up at 8:30 am, so that I could call my doctor's office. (I know they start at 8:30 am - the first appointment of the day), but the nurse/secretary is not always "on time". I woke up at about 8:35 am, and called. I got my fave nurse on the phone. She told me to go to the Ultrasound and then come right over - but to call first to see if they are still there, if it's around 4pm. (I wasn't expecting to be at the hospital too long after my 1pm appointment, so there was no way I would be that late going across the street to my doctor's office from the hospital).

I dropped off my car at the shop on the way to the hospital, so I could finally get my summer tires put on my car. Yep, I've been procrastinating doing it. Ok, call me lazy. Or call me pregnant. Either way, I hadn't done them yet, and there hasn't been snow on the ground for a very long time.

My mom took Sean & I into the city to the hospital. We found great parking, and got the Obstetrical Ultrasound appointment just on time. (They were squeezing me in).

The Ultrasound went great today. My amniotic fluids were A-okay today. I got a report to give to my doctor. Everything was showing normal. I've never had this before (not even with Sean), but they were able to give me the weight of the baby! Mackenzie is (as of today) 4 lbs 6 oz. (He's brother Sean was born not too much bigger than that, at 5 lbs 5 oz, so it looks like he may just be larger than his brother when born).

I tried to get pictures, but she said that because I was over 33 weeks, it may be difficult. She was right. They refunded my money (10$ for 3 pictures) because his head was turned at an awkward angle and she couldn't get a good profile shot. Bah.

After I went to my doctor's office, which is around the corner. Sean fell asleep in the car (we had to move the car) and so my mother stayed in the car with him while I went to see my doctor. I got seen right away, and now I'm glad that I don't have to go to my check-up on Monday, I only have to go back in just over 2 weeks (and then weekly after that). My doctor's nurse took my blood pressure, everything is okay. I've only gained 26 pounds far this entire pregnancy, which is not even HALF of what I gained while pregnant with Sean. I am very happy about that. Totally different pregnancy this time around.

My doctor is not concerned about anything, and he told me not to worry. Phew. I'm not worried.

I'm trying to think if I'm leaving out any important details, but I'm not. Blood pressure is okay. Amniotic fluids are okay today, and my doc thinks that it's possible they took a mis-reading yesterday. Who knows. But the fluids are a-okay today, so he's not worried.

Ran some errands on the way home, picked up my car (with summer tires finally on it!) and had dinner with Sean. Jamie had ball tonight. Watched some TV with Sean, he played in the bath tonight longer than usual, why not, had some milk and then passed out. I'm crossing my fingers he'll give me another full night's sleep tonight.

I came across this book today online. I'd added a book to my shopping cart and it told me that I may be interested in this book. Yep, Everyone Poops. Apparently I'd also be interested in The Gas We Pass: The Story of Farts, or Where's the Poop? or even It Hurts When I Poop! A Story for Children Who Are Scared To Use The Potty. Are they for real? These books actually exist?? Well, I certainly got a great laugh from it.

Not sure what is going on this weekend, but I do plan on relaxing, and actually, I plan on relaxing for the rest of my pregnancy. It would probably do me some good. I have a list of things that Jamie needs to do this weekend (like raising the mattress in Mack's crib, putting back together the Basinette- hopefully Mack won't hate it like Sean did). I'm also hoping that Jamie & my dad can finish putting together the gutter on the house in the backyard, because I can't have swampage in my garden every time it rains. Ugh! Hopefully it'll be okay.

Oh! I'm going to the New Kids on the Block Concert on September 20th with my sister!! I'm a nerd, I know! (Oh my - I'm still a Jordan Knight fan.... he's such a hottie!)

Hey Robyn-
those books DO exist. They are quite the set of books. Trust me. One of Doug's uncles got the fart book for Doug's grandmother. Yes, you read that right.

You should pick them up when you get a chance, if for nothing else, but a fun read.

to comment on the NKOTB - that is super cool - I don't like concerts myself, but it is still great.
I've seen those books somewhere.
So thankful everything is okay. kind of scary though.
Get your rest, its the most important - had high blood pressure with first one and that was not fun..

I am glad to hear you are doing better, although no pictures, but good news is the most important thing!

BTW, I was always a Joey McIntyre fan and I am hoping that I will be able to see them when they are down this way!

Fantastic news! Depending on how Mack was lying yesterday, they may not have been able to see a pocket of fluid to measure. Or it could've been inexperience of the ultrasound tech. It happens all the time (unfortunately). Keep him in there and cook him!
