December 2 of 31

Last night was brutal. I did not get enough sleep. Sean slept from about 11pm when we got home from our friends birthday dinner, and woke up at about 4:15 am. I changed his diaper, and he wouldn't take his bottle in his crib. So I sat on his floor and gave him his bottle in my lap, while playing Baby Einstein Lullaby Classics on his CD player. He started to fall asleep in my arms, so I put him into his crib, and he sat up, and started bawling his eyes out. I tucked him into his blanket, and tried caressing his back, but he wasn't interested. He wanted to be back in my arms. I told myself last night I wouldn't let him get his way. So I tucked him in again, raised the bar on his crib, put the lullaby CD back to song 1, and left the room. He started to bawl his eyes out and cried/screamed for 40 minutes from 4:35 am until 5:15 am. It broke my heart. Just as I was ALMOST going to crack, he passed out. I was sooo happy, and overtired. He slept until about 7:30 am, which was fine by me.

At 9pm tonight we went to his playroom to play a bit, and then at 9:30 pm, I got him into his pj's, gave him a bottle and he fell asleep in my bed with me. I had Jamie take the pillow case off my pillow and lay it in his crib. I am hoping that my scent (and the warmth from me just laying on it) will keep him content tonight. Crossing my fingers. I'd like 1 night of good sleep. It's been 3 nights of really bad sleep. Knock on wood. We also put the humidifier in his room, hoping that maybe it'll help as well, (we've been finding our bedroom very dry). We also lowered the temperature in the house, it's been too hot upstairs every night on top of it being dry.

The thing that touched me the most today, I was sitting on Sean's playroom floor, and I have been very emotional lately (hormones!) and I started crying, and Sean turned around, dropped his toy, and wrapped his arms around me. That made me cry even more. I think I just needed a good cry, but this kid of mine, I swear, at 11 months old, just made me love him even more at that very one moment.

How could I not love this face and smile?? He's my cutie. Just not so cute in the middle of the night when he doesn't want to sleep in his own crib!

Tomorrow morning I have my first OB check up for baby number 2. Unless my doctor says otherwise, I'm assuming my due date is July 11th, 2008, according to the calculator. I will know more tomorrow though. I'm also going to probably go for a blood test, so I'm bringing some knitting and my book in case. They are calling for a LOT of snow tonight, so I'm hoping it's not too bad.
