june one

This morning when I went to get weighed in at the nutritionist's office I am now down 32 lbs. THIRTY TWO!!! Only three more to go. I was able to (somehow?) lose 2 lbs over the weekend. (Friday's weigh in, I was down 30 lbs). If this keeps up, I can totally be down 34 lbs by next Monday, and then just have to lose the last pound. Do you think I can do it? I am hoping to lose the last 3 pounds before my birthday (June 16th). Just over two weeks, I CAN do it. June 23rd will be 5 months since I started my weight loss program. (January 23rd, right after getting back from Florida).

I went into a store nearby afterwards, where I bought the windowsill pots last week for my Basil & Parsley, and just my luck, they are now all 50% off. I picked up a few more, so that I can plant the Chives, and Oregano (when I can find seeds for them).

Today I went to playgroup with Mack after we were done our errands. It was a small group today, just 3 moms and I (and one of the moms arrived shortly before I had to leave). I didn't want to stay too late as Mack needed a nap. I was able to get work done this afternoon while Mack napped. I feel like playgroup is kind of dismantling itself, with some of the moms going back to work shortly. I wonder how much longer it will last. Seems like no one really comes anymore.

After picking up Sean from daycare I fed both boys dinner as my mom babysat the boys tonight. Jamie had ball and I had a mommy dinner with the moms in Mack's playgroup. Some of the moms who didn't show up this morning for playgroup did come tonight for dinner. While feeding Mack dinner he starting to grind his teeth. I have no idea where this started from. It's NASTY! You know the feeling that some people get when someone runs their nails down a chalk board? the chills? That's what I got from Mack grinding his teeth. I really hope this this doesn't continue - but if it does - how do you get an almost 1 year old to stop grinding his teeth?? Have you had your child do this? What did you do? How long did it last for?

This evening dinner was really nice. We went to Del Frisco's and I was able to have whole wheat linguini there. I chose to have it with their Primavera sauce. Vegetables are always good! It was nice chatting with all the moms, and Jenn was there too tonight.

This evening Jamie got home 5 minutes before me, and since it was still early, we sat down to watch another episode of Damages Season 2. I worked a bit on my Misty Garden Scarf. I have about 35" complete. The pattern calls for about 59". I casted on this scarf June 7th, 2008 just before Mackenzie was born, and I'm hoping to have it done on or before June 7th of this year. I don't want to go past the 1 year mark with this scarf. I've been really eager to work on some WIPs lately. I want to get them done before working on new things. Fair goal!

Specs:
Pattern: Chevron Scarf by Joelle Hoverson
For: Myself
Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Medium Weight in Rhodonite & Black Onyx
Needle: US 6 / 4.0 mm
Size: 77.5" unblocked, 90" blocked.
Timeline: July 6th, 2007 - May 31st, 2009 (with serious long pauses in between)
Modifications: Followed pattern as published.
Opinion: It was super easy to knit and after a few repeats was able to memorize the pattern. I didn't use the full skeins that I bought for this project, so I actually have about 35-40% of each skein left. I used about 100g of each 155g skein. That's enough I'm sure to make small things.

It's on the needles blocking right now. I can't wait to see it off the blocking mats. Photoshoot of me wearing it will come tomorrow. I almost cannot wait for fall so I can wear it already!
