Last Day of The Year

So, it's finally the last day of the year. I slept in today and got up around noon. I love sleeping in. Always feels fantastic to get up and out of bed when I feel like it. After getting up, we slowly got ready and decided to head out and go to Costco. I stopped at the dollar store first, and picked up some more yarn for the project I'm working on (I found this fantastic chunky yarn at the dollar store!) and it's turning out to be a fantastic scarf right now. I decided that I wanted to learn how to make the zigzag pattern so I can make a ripple afghan and figured I might as well start off with a small item to learn the pattern (like a scarf) so incase I mess up, I'm just practicing and not wasting a lot of yarn. I found a pattern in So Simple Crochet by Melody Griffiths and have started it. I've re-started it twice already today, trying to follow a pattern for the first time.
After Costco, we picked up some remaining items for dinner at the grocery store, and then headed home. We each did our own thing for a little while.

Eventually we made dinner (well, I give Jamie credit for mostly all of it - THANKS LOVE!) and we opened a bottle of wine and had a nice meal, started off with some shrimps and cocktail sauce, then lamb chops with some rice and steamed veggies. It was delicious. We had a french wine, and then once that was done, I cracked open a cheaper bottle of wine, just to keep the buzz. After dinner we watched the USA vs. Canada game (CANADA WON!) and then the Montreal Canadiens game (we got our ass kicked by 1 point by Carolina).

In 2005 I:
Got married.
Lost 25 pounds.
Moved into our First House.
Celebrated my husband's 30th birthday.
Graduated from a Professional Photography School.
Started a new program in Graphic Design.
Got a new car.
Learned to Crochet.

In 2006 I will:
Bring lunch and snacks to school - no more buying expensive cafeteria food.
Do Yoga/Pilates at least 3-4 times a week.
Join the Gym Monday - go with Jamie!
Drink more water.
Floss teeth more.
Try to brush teeth after every meal.
Stop procrastinating.
Improve my golf swing.
Be organized at school.
Make sure to have projects done in enough time.
Learn how to make socks, ripple afghan and the purse in Family Circle's Easy Crochet magazine. Finish art projects that I've been wanting to do.
Vaccum and clean bathroom more often. (I hate these 2 chores).
Read lots of good books, find more time to read.
Have more dinner parties with friends.

It's about that time to go put on ABC or NBC for the ball drop. Happy New Year & Speak to you in 2006!

Zigzag Pattern

Ten uses for a Crochet Hook (Besides Crocheting)

Guess you thought that crochet hooks were good for only crocheting, right? Well, here are some more interesting uses for them:

Pull a yarn snag to the inside of a sweater.
Reweave a dropped stitch while knitting.
Pull a drawstring through its casing.
Fix a tangled necklace.
Rescue a ring that dropped down the drain.
Pull hair through the holes of the cap when highlighting your hair.
Weave a potholder using a loom.
Weave anything through anything.
Stake up a plant.
Spear the last olive at the bottom of the jar.

Jamie drove me to the shopping center around the corner from our house so I could pick up the package that I apparently missed this morning from the post delivery - however I was home the entire morning, sleeping on the couch. The door bell would have DEFINITELY woken my up, as the chime on the grandfather clock woke me up on the hour every hour from 6 am until noon. And the phone woke me up a bunch of times. What is wrong with the post people? They didn't even ring my bell to see if I was actually indeed home!

Chilled out during the afternoon, and eventually some people came over to hang out - and we played poker this evening with a bunch of Jamie's friends. It was fun. I lost out, didn't win, didn't even come in second or third or fourth... (got out fifth of 8 people). and went back to watching six feet under!

I decided that I want to learn how to make the zig zag (or ripple) afghan, so I found the exact pattern in a book for a zigzag scarf, so I'm going to try that first, so that I can get the hang of the zigzag first on something smaller, before getting to a big blanket!

Going to go work on the zigzag. Goodnight!

And the Marathon Continues

I watched the last episodes of Six Feet Under Season 3 this morning and then headed out to the post office to pick up the pacakge that I missed last night. It was this Merino yarn. However, the colour in the picture and the colour of the actual yarn are 2 different shades of pink. The shade I got is a lot darker, but still very nice. Maybe I received the wrong package?

I returned Season 2 of Six Feet Under back to Blockbusters and then headed back home. I need to do some chores around the house, but I'm not feeling up to it. I'm starting Six Feet Under Season 4 right now, and I feel like crawling up on the couch, watching it and perhaps corcheting. That would be nice. Very nice.

... still no marks posted for school yet, where are my marks! Also, my wedding dvd of negatives wasn't in my mailbox today either... where are they?? I am anxiously waiting for both these to come into my life!!! I have a desire to know how I did in my classes as well as a desire to start working on some photo projects that I want to do with my wedding photos.

Anyhow, I'm going to go watch some more Six Feet Under. Bye for now.

The 30$ Loot

I heart these bamboo crochet needles!

I got up early this morning because my 3 year old nephew gets up really early.

All day I did stuff around my office, worked a bit more on the new baby blanket for my friend due in March, and watched a lot more of Six Feet Under Season 3. Almost done! I think I will be done the entire series before I know it.

No wedding "negatives" on DVD from my wedding photographer yet. Maybe tomorrow.
This evening we had an Xmas party for my dad's company.

My dad sold tickets for a raffle (he got prizes donated from suppliers and stuff) and raised money for the Montreal Children's Hospital. (He does this every year). This year, I got 10$ from Jamie, put it with my 20$ and with 30$ we got 2x 5$ tickets for the big prize draw and 20 x 1$ tickets for the smaller draw or prizes. I walked out with: a 25$ gift certificate to Costco (I AM DYING TO GO DO AN ORDER THERE - I'm not a member but with a gift certifcate you can go in), a wireless mouse (Jamie wanted one) a VCR - which is perfect because mine's dying (it's almost 10 years old) and I still need it to tape O.C. and stuff (lol), and a bunch of other little things like a hat and a pen holder (which actually went home with my brother). I had fun - and money got raised for a good cause.

I'm dying to open up a bottle of wine, but it's getting late. Actually it's only 10:30pm. I would absolutely love to enjoy a bottle. Maybe I'll open one up soon... have some more tomorrow. I am not going anywhere tomorrow - except to the post office to pick up a package that I missed tonight while we were out at the Xmas party. I think after I'm done this post I am going to crawl into bed with a glass of wine and my crochet blanket (I am on a roll with getting these accomplished) and with the end of Season 2 of Six Feet Under! Sounds like a plan.

Price Fluctuation

This morning I got to do stuff around my house before Andrea and Merlyn got back from visiting Jamie's dad for a little bit this morning. Once they got back, Jamie watched Merlyn for the afternoon and Andrea and I headed out to Le Chateau Liquidation as Aunt Tania showed us a sweater last night that she got there for only 4.99$. Boxing day sale was on all week! Anyhow, I tried on a bunch of stuff, stuff that wasn't really on sale, but on liquidation, and some of it wasn't worth 29.99$ a piece or whatever. But I did walk out with items that are under 14.99$. All shirts. All very nice.

After clothes shopping, Andrea and I did some groceries. Came home, made fish (salmon) with brown rice and steamed broccoli. It was delicious. Along with a glass of wine.... Mmmm!

I finished the baby blanket for Misha today. She was born on December 16th. I am going to drop it off at my parent's neigbor's house for her, which is her grandparents home. They will deliver the blanket for sure. Anyhow, I am very proud of it. It came out really nice. . I started the baby blanket (neutral colours) for my friend Zahava & Adam's baby. It will be born in March 2006. I have time ;)

I invented my own border, because I'm not too sure how to make a border properly, so I invented one myself. I just did double crochet aroudn the entire blanket.
I finished Season 2 of Six Feet Under and started Season 3... I am addicted. Let me tell you!

This is the crochet hook holder that Jamie got me as a stocking stuffer. I absolutely love it.

I love that it has cats on it, playing with the yarn. Kind of like my cats!
My fave magazine - which I have NO idea when my subscription starts went up in price! Instead of 1.99$ an issue, it went up to 2.49$ an issue for 2006! I can't believe it! Price fluctuation! Every thing is going up in price in 2006! SICK! I am glad now that I got the subscription because now it's working out way cheaper in my favour for this magazine (For Me Magazine).

Still no school marks posted. Was no mail today - very dissapointed because I'm now expecting the DVD from my wedding photographer - she said she had mailed it at the same time that she mailed her Xmas cards - which I got already, a while back! Ugh. I hate not getting mail!

Off to watch more Six Feet Under.

Weight Loss!

This picture is a collage of Xmas 2004 (left) and Xmas 2005 (right). I wanted to show how my weight loss looked. And by looking at these pictures, you can definitely see that I've lost weight. I am definitely loving the new look! Let me tell you! 25 lbs gone and I'd love to lose another 10 more. But that's what 2006 is for. Jamie and I need to stop procrastinating and get our butts to the gym.

Today I slept in until almost noon. Another great sleep in. Jamie and I ended up staying up pretty late last night. We got in only after midnight and then I watched some Six Feet Under season 2 (half way through it now).

After getting up slowly putzed around the house and eventually my sister-in-law and nephew came back over, Merlyn napped in our den (gosh sometimes it's great to be 3 years old) while the three of us (Andrea, Jamie & I) played scrabble. Jamie who complained he sucks won and killed us majorly! He won with like 217 points and I came in second with under 150 points and Andrea tailed behind me. Can't remember our scores, just remember Jamie kicking our butts. It was nice to just sit down and play scrabble.

For dinner we went over to Jamie's grandmother's house and saw Jamie's mom's side of the family. We were able to catch Jamie's mom and her wife on their way back from Ottawa so they were able to make it - thank goodness. I was able to give them their photo album from the wedding that I made for them. And we gave Jamie's cousins Andra and Ami a little something for Chanukah as well as Jamie's Aunt Tania - we got her a cookbook as she keeps saying she wants to learn more recipes and have a variety. She doesn't have the internet where she can just log on and have a million recipes at her disposal.

We ordered in Chinese Food - which I've been craving for weeks, (which I thought I was only going to have for New Years - our tradition - Hockey Game and Chinese Food - that's what we're doing. We've done it every year since we've been together, except for last year because there was no hockey (strike). As long as the Montreal Canadiens are playing we're happy. There's an 8pm game, so that will be fun. New Years is over rated and EXPENSIVE. Too much of a commercial holiday.

Aunt Tania gave me 2 very good cleaning tips - one for my microwave and one for my stove. I am so happy that my scrubbing days are over. It's going to be so easy from now on! (Stove = easy off spray, leave spray on overnight, wipes right off in the morning, and microwave = bowl of water, cook it to steam, everything wipes right off!)

Today I cleaned up my desk a bit more, it's coming along great. What a mess it was from this past semester - let me tell you! Horrible! I'm working on making it organized. I want to be totally organized this upcoming semester - like you wouldn't believe! I had art stuff all over my desk in no organization. I've made piles and its looking better. I have 2 weeks left over winter vacation, and I still have things to accomplish on my list of things to do. I better write a list, so I don't forget anything. Going to go work on that now. Ciao for now. I'll let you know what I come up with!

Chocolate Pretzel for Dessert

Jamie's step-sister's daughter (also named Jamie), (whom we call "Little Jamie", wrote the CUTEST letter to santa. She's 8 and still believes! Just read!

So her mother wrote her back, early in the morning this morning, using her left hand. (She's a righty!)

Got up and realized I have to be at Jamie's step-aunt and step-uncle's house for 5pm today and that I didn't finish the Chocolate Pretzels that I wanted to bring as a dessert.

Don't they look fantastic? They're in my fridge setting right now, and they should be good soon to wrap in a pretty box and bring along with us tonight for Christmas dinner #2. Tonight we're just bringing a gift for the house of the dinner (to the owners - Jamie's step-aunt and step-uncle) and 2 gifts - one for each of us - for the gift exchange. We were to spend 10$ on a unisex gift. It should be fun. I purchased 2 10$ gifts, 1 is a chocolate fondu set and the other is some gorgeous white candy/serving dishes. I wonder what we'll end up coming home with?

I decided tonight I'm going to wear my new sweater, my new necklace and the new three-gold earrings that Jamie got me for Xmas. I forgot to photograph them. They are absolutely gorgeous!!! I love them. I also decided that I'm going to go in pants (cords) instead of a skirt, because I'm feeling gross and I don't want to be feeling gross in a skirt. That's not my thing at all.

Well, it's 4:30 now and we have to be there around 5pm, and I'm not ready yet. Better go get dressed and washed up and put my pretzels in a box to go!

Xmas Dinner

Christmas dinner was fantastic, we had the same as we had last year, pasta with a clam sauce, but Jamie's step-sister surprised us this year with her own cream of broccoli soup and boy was it FANTASTIC. Jamie wants me to learn how to make the recipe! I don't mind learning, it was fantastic. All of dinner was fantastic!

This is my new favourite sweater, also from Jamie's dad and step-mom. I absolutely LOVE pink and I love the sweaters. And it fits just right. Jamie also got a gorgeous sweater and a really nice shirt from his dad and step-mom for Xmas. Xmas was good to us this year.
Jamie's dad took a picture of Jamie & I next to the Xmas tree. I found a picture of myself with Jamie from last Xmas and I want to compare my weight loss from this year from last. The picture is on Jamie's dad's camera, so I will show it once I even get it. I don't have it yet. But I am sure there will be a change in my body from one year to the next. 25 lbs isn't small - so you will see the change - I hope!

I went into the hot tub tonight - outside with Andrea, Mark and Karen. It was really nice. I really enjoyed myself. It was very relaxing. We were in there almost an hour - it was crazy! I was almost wrinkly when I got out! But it was so relaxing and I definitely needed it. That's for sure. It was actually nice outside too. I think it was only about 0C degrees or +1C degrees outside.

It was a nice Christmas Eve.

Chores Friday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NORMA! (My mother-in-law!)

I got on a cleaning kick today. Accomplished A LOT of laundry, and cleaned my stove, AND my microwave (boy was it nasty) and all the dishes in my sink. I had to run out and pick up some Cascade as I was running out and some apple juice for my nephew since he's staying with us tonight with my sister-in-law. Came home and continued on chores. I cleaned my shelf on my bookcase that is dedicated to school stuff (books and markers and rulers, you name it). I should have done a before and after picture because there is a huge difference in the clean up that I did! I cleaned my desk drawer and it's so much more neater now, I love neat. It got crazy messy during the last 2 weeks of school and I didn't have the time yet to tidy it.

My sister-in-law Andrea along with my nephew Merlyn came into town around 4:30 pm and we hung out a bit, I got a few more chores done and since Jamie is out with some friends tonight watching the hockey game at some sports bar, we just hung out - I made dinner (pasta with the sauce that I made the other day) and we've been hanging out watching TV and crocheting.

Tonight my sister-in-law and I decided to watch TV and crochet and Merlyn decided that he even wanted to make stuff too - and so we let him play with a ball of yarn that we weren't using, nor will either of us probably use - so we let him scrap it.

This is my cutie nephew Merlyn. I love him to pieces. He just turned 3 last month and he's the greatest smartest kid ever!

Going to go into the basement and watch some TV with Andrea. Merlyn's asleep now and he's in the den (where I perfer to watch TV) but anyhow!

Blanket Complete.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Last night yet again I "missed" the post man. He left me a slip stating that I "missed" what he delivered because I wasn't home, but I WAS. I received one delivery at 9:08pm last night, the yarn and something else from the book club (the crochet books) and then the card that was left in my mailbox said 21h30 meaning on the 24 hour clock: 9:30pm. WHY DIDN'T HE OR SHE RING MY BELL? I don't know, but it's a huge piss off. So on my way out to lunch I stopped by the post office. I got the number from them for head office and after the holidays I am going to call and complain. The woman at the post office said that maybe it was because the box was too big to carry to my front door - but it was a small box that I picked up - with the 3 cameras (lomography) that I ordered off ebay. It's soooo annoying. And it is like the 3rd time this has happened all week.

I finished the baby blanket last night, I think it looks fantastic. So many projects that I want to do now! The list is over flowing and so is the yarn!

This evening Jamie took me to Walmart. Actually, I took him -seeing as though he didn't really spend any money on himself, and I drove. Anyhow, he let me pick out some stuff that I wanted - he was spending some money on me! That was very nice of him. So since that was my "stocking stuffers" I let him open his stocking stuffers this evening, and he liked everything that I filled it with!

I'm upset that still no marks are posted online.

Going to go watch some TV in bed. Or maybe on the couch. I don't want it to disturb Jamie.

Cooking Day Successful

Today I started out doing stuff around the house, and realized that I wanted to make meat sauce (my mother-in-law's recipe) and I was missing a few ingredients. So I had to run out to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients. Now I really didn't want to spend any money at all today, but I realized that I had to. If I didn't make the sauce today, I don't have time tomorrow (Lunch with a friend and possibly a party at a friends house at 8pm) and Friday I have stuff going on, and Saturday and Sunday are occupied with family... I'd never get around to making the sauce... So I ran out. I first went to the post office. I mailed all my domestic holiday cards (international and west coast Canada cards were mailed out a few days ago because of the longer and further travel time).

It took me an hour to prepare the 2 pots of sauce. Then 1 hour cooking time while I caught up on some emailing. Then I made noodles for 2 lasagnas - 1 I froze and the other we had part of it for dinner this evening.

Here is all the sauce that the 2 pots made, plenty of room in our bed freezer. It'll be nice to have all these jars of sauce to un-freeze and have with pasta, instead of god awful jar sauce from the grocery store shelf. Nothing compares to homemade meat sauce. Jamie can't go back to eating jarred sauce, not after tasting this! Sorry people, I can't give out the recipe. I was only given it recently, AFTER getting married, as you don't get it, unless you're married to someone in the family!

Tonight I sat in bed and finished the blanket I was working on. I will photograph it tomorrow and post it online. (Too tired now). I watched a few more episodes of Six Feet Under Season 1. 2 more discs to go from 4 discs total. And then seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5. And then I plan on watching Sopranos seasons 1-5 (hope I find time - lol) before March 2006 when Season 6 is on the air! And 26 episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition are sooooo close to being finished downloaded. Almost there! 2 hours left of downloading. Don't know when I'm going to find time to watch all this plus work on my scrapbooking, plus a project that my father wants to me to do for his company, plus some other smaller art projects, plus read.... I must be out of my mind, eh?

None of my marks are yet posted online. What's the school waiting for? AHHH! It's driving me mental not knowing!

Errand Day

I got an email from my teacher today, as I had emailed her to find out what I got in my final project, since NONE of my marks are posted on the school gradeline yet.
She emailed me back:

Hi Robyn! My break is really starting today...ahhhhhhhhh.................. I'm happy to know that you will be working & experimenting things during your break, I am going to do the same! For your final project, I gave you 29/30. I am really happy with what you did, and the fact that even if you don't like drawing, you really worked hard to achieve something interesting. Also making the world 3D was audacious. Congratulations! Have a nice break! Claudine

I wasn't sure what audacious meant, so I looked it up:

au·da·cious ( P ) Pronunciation Key(ô-dshs)adj.Fearlessly, often recklessly daring; bold. See Synonyms at adventurous. See Synonyms at brave.

Hmm. I'm very HAPPY with my 29/30 - which brings me to a 94/100 in her class, by adding up all the assignments we've done this semester. Now, I found out that the school has the right to adjust your final mark by taking off 3% for each absent missed that is more than 3 absenses in a row or 5 absenses in the entire semester. I have only missed 2 classes, not in a row, so I'm NOT worried. Which means I should be getting final mark - 94% in my creativity class. I am very happy about this. I have no idea what my other final marks will be - but I know I've passed everything. I hope they post the marks soon - I'm going NUTS not knowing.

Today I spent most of the day watching Season 1 of Six Feet Under and sorting through wedding photos.

I just finished watching Nip/Tuck season finale for season 3. It was a 2 hour special and boy was it SICK AND FANTASTIC. This show keeps getting even more and more sick and twisted, let me tell you. I love it. I love it!

Bed time. Want to get a good start (early too) on my day tomorrow. So many things to do and I will try to have a money free day tomorrow. Let's see if I can do it. I have some project and chores to do - and I want to make some meat sauce. I picked up the last few ingredients tonight, so hopefully I can just make it tomorrow.

Winter Cleaning

I did some crocheting today, working on that neutral coloured baby blanket - practicing the real way of crochet!

I caught up on some episodes of Law & Order: SVU that my mom taped for me and sent my way. (While crocheting).

I even cleaned up my office a little bit... (more work on that tomorrow)

I cleaned through my makeup drawer. Lots to throw out. Did you know that....

You're supposed to:

  • Toss powder after 1 year (don't own any)
  • Trash your stash of eyeshadow - they're only good for 1 year
  • Don't bat an eyelash - after 45 days, mascara is trash! (45 DAYS! FRIG! I don't even wear mascara 2x a year - didn't know it's trash that fast!)
  • Replace lipstick after 1 year even if it's your favourite discontinued hue)
  • Get rid of your toothbrush after max 3 months (or you'll be brushing with bacteria). {I change up my toothbrush about every 2 months or when I'm sick of the colour brush I'm using - lol)

Lipstick I keep a little longer.... I don't wear makeup at all that often. But my mascaras I had no idea how old they were - so I threw them all into the trash. Eye shadow really goes bad after 1 year? I had a bunch of old colours I was going to offer someone I know for her daughter when she plays dressup - but I guess I'm going to trash it. Good to know.

I cleaned up my hair accessories drawer, but tomorrow I've got to tackle my desk drawer - what a pig sty!

For dinner, I made pasta (whole wheat for me and regular for Jamie and his friend Daniel who came over to hang out with Jamie tonight). I used jar sauce, but added in meat and spices to spice it up - cuz jar sauce sucks now that I know how to make my own, but I didn't have all the ingredients to make my own homemade sauce (I plan on making a large batch of homemade sauce soon... stock up since we have a bed freezer in the basement!)

I'm going to go watch some TV and crochet some more.

Yarn Stash & Rippled Afghan

I cleaned out my office a bit today, and discovered yarn in shopping bags that hadn't been put away yet - and boy is my yarn basket FULL to the max right now and there's actually some yarn NOT in there! I pretty much have my winter break (3 weeks - officially started!) with plenty of stuff to keep me busy.

Above is some gorgeous yarn that I got at this Montreal yarn shop called Mouline. I got 3 colours, orange, burnt red and chocolate brown. I have a scarf idea that I want to make for my brown scarf. I am sure it will come out very nicely. No rush though - I have the other scarf that I made that I absolutely love.

At dinner tonight, we went out to celebrate Jamie's birthday last week, my sister's 21st birthday tomorrow and my mom's birthday this Thursday. We went to a casual restaurant. My grandmother brought me this afghan that she made (crochet) and I am amazed by it - because I want to learn how to make this kind of pattern! I love it. This afghan that she made me is not a full length blanket, it's a throw to wrap around you while watching TV, but doesn't cover your entire body. I love it. I think I'm going to use it in my office when it's cold!

After dinner we went back to my parents house, and I got to see Bosco. Boy is he growing!

He's just over 40 pounds now. Getting bigger each day. (Above he's resting on Jamie's shoulders while on the step on the stairs a little higher than him.)

NO HUMANS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS PHOTOGRAPH. Bosco is going through a teething stage and he was nibbling on Jamie's ear. Jamie was letting him for some reason.

I hope that some of my school marks are up on the school website tomorrow. I am going to log in and check tomorrow. Marks are due tomorrow from the teachers so hopefully because we're ony 13ish students in a program graduating at the same time, that they will have something done very speedy? Crossing my fingers!

A Night Out

This is the new crochet project I'm working on. It's another "baby" blanket, I'm just using a simple thing to make to learn how to crochet properly, especially since the stitch I was previously using wasn't a real stitch - but now I've got it! I love the yarn - so neutral for a baby.

This afternoon I slept on the couch in our den. I was planning on watching some TV, I did watch a little bit of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (the touching stories have been making me cry - don't ask) and catching up on some Grey's Anatomy that my mom taped for me. But somewhere I fell asleep for a couple of hours on the couch. Then I watched the movie Fantastic 4 with Jamie as he was dying to see it - but then in the end he said it was JUST OKAY. Gotta love my husband, every movie if you ask him what he thought of it - "JUST OKAY" is his reponse. Except for like Star Wars or something... "JUST OKAY". What kind of answer is that? Anyhow. I thought the movie was okay also, I'm not a huge fan of comic book style stories (except for Sin City - which was amazing!) and well Julian McMahon from Nip/Tuck - Dr. Christian Troy was in it as Victor and I found him sexy! I love Julian - he's hot. (I may be married but I'm allowed looking right?) Look at this picture of him. HOT! Wow. Ok, I'm done!

Jamie & I went out for dinner tonight to our favourite place. It's the first time I've been there since I've lost 25 lbs. Dinner was fabulous, I had the usual - Linguini Rossi Primavera sans mushrooms (ew), and a green salad to start. We ordered a liter of the house wine, and well, I drank most of it, since Jamie was driving home. It was nice, good conversation and a very excellent meal. The meal wasn't really for my diet - as it was homemade tomato pasta, but it was delicious nonetheless and sometimes in life is for cheating on diets! Right? I'm going to go crawl into bed. Goodnight!

Postcard from our fave restaurant. It's a gorgeous postcard.

Snow Storm Friday

What a HORRID day out there, and I had NO CHOICE but to leave my house. I didn't realize what the weather situation was out there - as I heard something about 20cm of snow falling, but didn't think much of it - and then to find out that actually 41 cm of snow fell today... CRAZY. The usual 10 minute (max) drive to school took me over an hour. I got to school on time though - as I left early enough. (Earlier than usual). Also - I didn't have to circle around for parking or anything, as I pulled right into Hotel du Fort which is attached to my school and didn't mind paying the 8.50$ parking fee for a NICE WARM spot that I wouldn't have to shovel snow to get my car free when it was time to go home.

During class I got back my illustrator project - the one that I created all those shapes and characters. I am very happy with my 17.5/20 - which is actually the best mark I've gotten in that class so far. My teacher is not a fair marker. Anyhow, so far I have a 14.5/20 a 16.5/20 and now a 17.5/20. The final project which I handed in today is marked on 40, which add up all the marks and you get 100%... So far I have 48.5/60. Not bad. I am hoping for a decent mark on the project that I just handed in - I know I won't fail. That's for sure.

On my way home from school Jamie calls me and asks me how much I love him. I ask why. He wants Marathon Suvlaki for lunch. Ugh. In the storm, he wants me to go get Marathons. I was actually kinda craving it - and since his lunch got cancelled due to the weather and he didn't go to work today as he called in sick (he has a small cold and well with the weather conditions and Friday's he only works a half day anyhow)... he decided to stay home today. LUCKY GUY!

You know what I realized today? Christmas is NEXT weekend. Next weekend! I told this to Jamie and he was like - woah! I better start shopping for you! NEXT WEEKEND! I am kind of excited. It will be a lot of fun with Jamie's step family for Xmas. But I just can't believe that it is SOOO soon! Crazy how time flies.

When I got home from school and from picking up lunch, the snow removal guy thatI hired a few nights ago had not come yet to clean our driveway. This pissed me off - because how was I to park in my garage? So.. instead... I parked here... backed into someone else's spot, which they cleared and left from! Thank you whomever that is!

I got upset that the snow removal guy hadn't come yet and I called him up to see what his usual schedule was, and how fast he would get to our house. He said that it's not usually like this (due to the weather) and he hopes to get to my house before Sunday. BEFORE SUNDAY? I need to use my driveway. I need to get into my garage. I need to find somewhere LEGAL to park my car (and not sticking out into the street!) I hope he was kidding about SUNDAY!
Mid-afternoon my driveway was clean... but I had still cleaned my walkway. (Turns out later on this evening someone came back to clean my walkway properly, as I only cleared a path down the middle - now the entire walkway is CLEAR!) Good job Snow Removal guys. I'm happy now.

My sister ended up coming over mid-afternoon, studied a bit, watched her soap opera from 3-4pm, and then I made her dinner ( a sandwich nothing fancy) and then drove her to her exam in my mom's MDX. Nice car, but I hate trucks. And on top of it it's automatic, and I swear I was looking for the clutch to start the car without even thinking about it my foot went to the location! I guess I can't go back to automatic cars. No way. They suck! It's not really driving. Really.

Been working on my new crochet blanket. This time I'm actually using a real crochet stitch. I have no idea what stitch my sister-in-law showed me - but it's not a real crochet stitch that you'd find in a pattern or book or magazine.

I am SOOO HAPPY and relieved to be out of school for 3 weeks. I am going to make the most of the next 3 weeks - let me tell you. I have a job to work on for my father (a paid job - thank goodness) and movies to watch, tv shows to catch up on - reading to do - art projects to do -some cleaning chores that aren't important - but I've been waiting for some time to do them, as well as other little things. People to see for lunch. People to see for dinner. People to see for coffee. Christmas plans. Maybe go skiing with Jamie? (Yeah right eh?) (I bet it's not going to happen this year!) SLEEP TO CATCH UP ON!

Gonna go cut up some kiwi's and hop into bed and watch some TV.

Cancelled Domain

My presentation this morning went really well. I will find out my mark from this teacher as I have her email address and she'll give it to me next week. Unless my marks are posted earlier on the school's grade system, then I can figure out for myself what the mark I got was... But I'm sure I did superwell. I took some pictures in class this morning, I wanted to share them here.

I came home after class and started working on things in the house. I cleaned the bathroom with the new Mr. Clean bathroom aparatus Magic Reach. I LOVE IT. I'm a sucker for these kinds of things... especially SWIFFER DUSTERS! Love them!

As I was in the middle of putting salmon in the oven to bake for dinner, Laura calls me from school, to help me with the end of my project. Turns out I don't have the proper colour chart on my PC and she could only help me on the MACs at school. So.. I wait until dinner is ready, throw my piece of salmon in a tupperwear and head off to school. Jamie's disappointed because we were supposed to hang out tonight, and I just wanted to stay in. But you know what? I am SOOO happy that I went into school and got my project over with. Now I can sleep easy tonight, and not stress out tomorrow in school. I then tried helping Laura with a project that was actually due about 3 weeks ago or so in our class for tomorrow morning, but I told her to look on her computer to see what files she has, and that I will help her further on it tomorrow. I just wanted to get home, it was getting late... I also didn't want to leave Laura alone at school until whatever time, and then walk alone at night downtown to her car. So I stayed with her, started working on another crochet blanket (as soon as there is more progress I will post pictures online, right now it's just the first few rows and it's coming along, but nothing exciting to photograph yet). When we were done, I walked Laura to her car, and then she drove me to mine, so we wouldn't be alone at night walking. Better safe than sorry.

Glad to be home. Came in, showered and then while attempting to blow dry my hair - I didn't feel like going to bed with wet hair - and then my hair still being damp in the morning and then being cold in school, as school is cold and wet hair makes me shiver... NOT GOOD.... Anyhow, so while attempting to blow dry my hair... this happened...

I am okay, just got shocked a little bit, and I'm really upset because I really liked this blow drier. It was sooo good and took no time at all to dry my hair and it was my favourite hair drier. Thank goodness I have another one, and older one, as backup, because I shouldn't really be spending money on a new hair drier at this time...

... I will give it a proper burial service and it'll go out in the trash tomorrow. So sad.

While at school this evening, I had a banana bread in the oven, Jamie took it out when it was done for me. How sweet. It came out really good (just had a piece!)

Banana Bread (HEALTHY!)

1 cup splenda instead of sugar (for my diet)
1/2 cup shortening (crisco)
2 eggs (omega-3)
2 cups whole wheat flour (for my diet)
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 soft, ripe bananas, mashed

Cream splenda and shortening; add eggs, flour, soda, bananas, and chopped nuts (if you want). Pour banana bread batter into 1 greased and floured loaf pan; bake at 325° for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. This banana (nut) bread recipe makes 1 loaf.

I cancelled my domain today. First off, I wasn't using my website. I needed it as a project to graduate (which I could have gotten free hosting with the school, but I wanted to buy my name, actually I bought my name about 2 years ago). I had a 2 year contract which expired on Dec. 11th/05. They said they were going to hold my domain for a few more days for me to decide what package I wanted to go with. I will be learning web design next semester, and if I feel that I need a domain again, I will purchase another one then - at that time. Right now I am not even sure I would want to keep my name as my website address, so it's best this way. So ontop of that being cancelled I had to email the company that I get my website hosted with and cancel that subscription too. The first one with my domain was a payment once a year or once every 2 years, but the hosting is a monthly fee of 16$ with taxes. Basically that was for the space to upload onto my domain name. A waste of 192$ that I don't need to spend right now. So right now I will be saving 192$ next year from cancelled my hosting, and saving about 60$ plus taxes (30$ a year) for my domain name. I already like the sound of SAVING!

I was kind of sad to see my website go... but you know what? I'm not a working photographer right now even if I'm a graduated professional, and also I'm not a working Graphic Designer yet, so I still have time to sign back up in the future. But for now, I feel that it was a wise decision to cancel it. I still had to pay for the month of December - as today is the 15th and my billing date was the 12th, so I still have hosting space until the 11th of January, but no use for it. Oh well.

One more 8 am class until next year (who knows what my schedule will be like next semester). So I'm off to bed to actually be able to wake up tomorrow morning on time. Oh boy will I NOT be setting my alarm on Saturday morning!

Too Many Wedding Photos

My presentation went really well this morning and I was shocked to actually get parking today for free since we started at 9 am instead of 8 am today. My presentation went well I think and the teacher really liked my project, so I hope I get a pretty good mark. I won't really know though, until I get it back next semester, but I'll be able to tell, since I will get my final mark, and then I can kind of judge on how I did. I figured out how to access my marks though, through the school's grade system. I signed up, entered the personal info they asked for, picked a username/password, and I'll really to start receiving marks in a few weeks. I don't know how fast they will be posted after we're done school on Friday, but I guess I can check here and there until they're all posted. I am not worried, I know I'm passing all my 4 classes with FLYING COLOURS!

Stopped off and picked up some whole wheat and regular fresh rolls, some cold cuts, whole wheat no sugar cheesebagels as well as regular cheesebagels for Jamie, veggie patties (so good), chicken wings and a bunch of other items at the Deli that is around the corner from my house. Never really realized they had good stuff until we moved directly around the corner from them, (after living not too far from them before).

My friend Mindy came over for lunch, I told her not to bring anything because she treated me to lunch when we went out for lunch about 2 weeks ago or so, and it was really nice to chill and talk with her.

BELOW IS 1300+ wedding photos (4x6)

This evening we sat down and looked through the wedding photos. ALL 1300 + of them. I thought there was only like 1200, no.. over 1300! CRAZY. That is equal to about 55 rolls of 24 exposure film. (LESS THAN THE AMOUNT OF FILM I TOOK WHEN I WAS IN ISRAEL! 63 rolls of film and digital pictures as well). I don't think I can go through the wedding pics for a while... I need a break from them, there are too many. I think I'm going to stall my mother (shh!) as I don't feel like looking at them all over again. There are some really gorgeous one, and a lot of really nice ones. I don't know how I'm going to narrow it down to under 75 pics for my leather bound album?
Going to crawl into bed to watch some TV with Jamie. We opted to stay in tonight instead of going to see a movie. Wasn't in the mood. Thank goodness my project for tomorrow is done, so I can relax tonight, tomorrow I'll freak out about my friday project! LOL.

Heartwarming Words

I decided to spend 11.95$ Canadian today and purchase 3389 fonts. I don't think I'll ever need that many fonts, but at least I know that I have them... especially since I have a typography class next semester and I needed a few of them to help me work on today's project. Some are really cool and funky - totally awesome! I love fonts - they're totally crazy. Some fonts, are just so whacked I can't believe they are actually fonts.

My sister wrote this about me, and it made me cry:

I look up to Robyn, not only as my older sister but as a role model. I have always wanted to be just like her, she goes after what she wants in life and is successful in everything and anything that she sets out for. I am really proud of her!

And now it's time for me to go to bed.

Red Envelope

I got these gorgeous picture frame book ends today in the mail from my cousins Jan Felipe & Leticia. I have always loved Red Envelope, but never dreamed of owning anything from there, as it's an American company, and a little bit pricey. They came in for our wedding almost 3 months ago, and got us also a bride & groom cook book. I tried taking a picture of the 2 book ends, but mirror is HARD to photograph, lol... One says Robyn & Jamie and the other says September 18th, 2005 (our wedding date). Very nice gift. Below are the stock images from the Red Envelope site. GORGEOUS! It was a very nice surprise to get them in the mail. Definitely wasn't expecting them!

This morning I got to class early. Our exam was from 9h00 am to 11h00 am and our final project was due at 9h00. However, if I don't go for 7h25 am, I don't get parking. And that sucks. I enjoy my free parking, let me tell you. But I wanted to get to school early to go over a few things with Laura, who said she would meet me there, and was pretty punctual.

The exam... I didn't get to finish it. But I did a good job on what I was able to finish and I think that it was a "test" to see how much we could get done in a time frame that wasn't even 2 hours by the time she went over everything and everyone got settled. The exam was in 2 parts - one sketching and the other in Quark Express. It was very easy and I was able to do the work, I just wish that we had been given more time to actually do all the work. I am not worried though, the teacher (one of my 2 fave from 3 teachers (lol)) said that I shouldn't worry because "how do I know that she is not marking us on the part we did do, and not going to reduce marks for the unfinished parts" - which leads me to believe that she will just mark us on what we were succesfully able to accomplish. Not one single person finished it in full - so it makes me feel A LOT better.

After the exam, Laura helped me figure out what I was doing wrong in Adobe Illustrator with my final project as I was COMPLETELY frustrated yesterday and pretty much had to close what I was working on before I killed my computer and shoved it out of the window. But now all is well, and I'm going to be able to work efficiently on my assignment that is due on Friday. (PLENTY OF TIME!)

I did groceries today, did a few other errands, and NEGLECTED my project that is due on Wednesday. I will work on it tomorrow, I have the entire day off, and all I have planned is my 3pm appointment to pick up my 4x6 wedding proofs. 1300 of them! I am going to be a good girl, and keep them to look at with Jamie over the weekend after school is finished.

I started my Winter Break To Do List:
Work on Wedding Scrapbook
Watch Sopranos
Watch Six Feet Under
Paint Bathroom
Clean up Office
Learn how to make Easy Ripple Afghan
Clean my Kitchen Blinds

and that's all that's on the list so far. I am sure there will be a lot more that gets added to this list!

Ok, time for bed. I have to get up early to work ALL DAY on my Graphic Design Magazine Layout project that's due on Wednesday morning. PLENTY of time to accomplish it! Goodnight.

The Actual Crochet Stitch

My day was pretty boring until this evening. Got up. Freaked out about an assignment. Spoke to Laura in my class. Figured it out together. So now my assignments for Monday and Thursday are completely finished. Need to finish Wednesday's project and Friday's project. Both are the biggest projects, so I guess it was a good thing that I got the little ones out of the way.

Dinner was actually excellent, my cousin Jenn introduced me to Extreme Pita (which isn't in my area, but near where my parents live - there is actually a new location opening, but it's half way between my house and my parents place, so that doesn't really help, it's still out of the way). I tried their Bruschetta Pita Pizza on whole wheat and it was EXCELLENT! I really enjoyed it.

We had our Chanukah party with my mother's side of the family, as my aunt and uncle are going away for their belated 30th wedding anniversary soon, my grandmother is going to Florida (not sure when) and my cousin and siblings work some Sundays, so it's difficult for everyone to get together. Since Chanukah this year isn't until December 26th, this was considered early. I got Chanukah gelt (money) from my grandmother, a cool Scrapbook 2006 calendar (where every page is another scrapbooking layout) from my cousins and aunt and uncle.

Isn't this really cool?

Going to go into bed, watch Grey's Anatomy and work on my blanket that I'm crocheting! Oh, speaking of crochet, apparently the stitch I am doing doesn't really exist, but it's coming out nicely anyhow. My aunt and my cousin Jenn showed me the PROPER way to crochet, for 2 stitches and they're going to both get me some "HOW TO" guides for the stitches! Finally, now I can learn how to do it properly and go one step further and try to figure out a pattern!
Wish my luck for my exam tomorrow!

Happy 30th Birthday Jamie!

This morning we got up early, to meet Jamie's mom and her wife for breakfast. We went to Chez Cora - which now offers crepes in whole wheat and buckwheat (good to know!) BUT I was craving a bagel with creme cheese and lox, and they don't carry whole wheat bagels anymore due to lack of demand.

Jamie's 30th birthday today. We're going to go out either next Friday or Saturday night to our favourite restaurant to celebrate his birthday as well as me finishing school! Tonight, we had hockey tickets for the Canadiens game against the Ducks. What a shitty game, and that's not because we lost. It's because they actually played a shitty game. We lost 5-3, and it was just horrid. There was a guy behind us who spilled a little bit of beer on me (so gross) but he apologized and he was being really loud the entire game. Then there was this other guy who was sitting 2 seats over from us - who has season tickets as well, that I didn't realize Jamie knew from baseball during the summer, and boy was he being obnoxious. Jamie said the guy was a loser and oh boy did he show it this evening. He was yelling at all the players, and stomping and hitting things. His wife, who was sitting next to him looked very embarrased. He at one point hit the metal on the bar infront of our seats and actually caused it to dent pretty badly. Jamie hoped he broke his hand doing that one.

I'm off to watch Apprentice from Thursday night in bed with Jamie. End off the rest of his birthday in bed cuddling. I'll probably try to finish the baby blanket I'm working on. Goodnight.

The Pink Blanket Mess Up

I need to concentrate on the last items on my TO DO LIST for school, due this upcoming week. 2 projects I just need to finish the last finishing touches (for Monday and Thursday). My project due on Thursday is almost done as well - just need to do a bit of arts & crafts (30 minutes of work) - will take no time at all, my assignment for Monday, just need to finish 1 sketch - maybe 20 - 30 minutes of work. For Wednesday, I have a LOT of work to do - but thank goodness I have Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon as well as Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday (except for when I need to leave to go pick up my 1200+ wedding proofs). I cant wait! And for Friday, I have a bit more work to do - but not as much work as for Wednesday. Wednesday is BIG project day! I am sure I will accomplish all - I work BEST under pressure and with a deadline. I think that way anyhow.

Today I worked on my pink crochet blanket. I realized today that my blanket was getting wider and wider as I was adding on rows. I have no idea HOW this happened, but I fixed it, by taking out about a skein and a half of the blanket. You see below how it was getting wider and wider?

This is after fixing it and redoing the 1 and a half skein, plus the rest of the half skein to finish that skein (it's probably more of a ball than a skein, but I like the word skein. I just learned what it is this week!) - I had to fold it though, because it is getting really large to photograph.

Close up of the scarf - I believe the stitch I am working on is called the Treble Stitch. Not 100% sure though, but the blanket is coming along great.

Caught the boys holding hands...

Then two minutes later - fighting!

I've been watching Grey's Anatomy - Season 1. I just finished watching all 9 episodes. Took me 2 days. I also started watching Newlyweds: The final Season, which I got from my sister. You know what? It's funny that their final season of the show was released in the same month that they broke up. I wonder if they break up is really real, or if it's a publicity stunt... I gotta get myself one of those trashy magazines! For sure.

Tonight we had some people over for poker, it was fun. I played both games, didn't do too well though. I had fun though.

Jamie turns 30 shortly! December 10th! I hope he has a good birthday tomorrow!

Waiting Lists & TV Junkie

I got my creativity journals back and got the mark I was expecting - 10/10. I wish this assignemnt was actually worth more of my final mark than 10% - but it's not. Too bad. Because I really outdid myself. My teacher was telling me that students in her other class was jealous and eyeing my journal as she corrected it while they were supposed to be working on an assignment. Hee hee. I even plan on working on more creativity journals - but for myself. I love doing them - so much fun! Below, is a part of one of the covers of one of my journals.

I called the doctor when I got home to find out how long the waiting list was.... I missed my appointment in March 2005, and had I gone, I would have gone again 6 months later, which would have been September, and I would have been half way to my next appointment already! So I told the receptionist who I was - and she said that she had called me about an appointment and gave me the date, or left it on my answering machine. There are only 2 people who live in my house. My husband and myself. And something like a call from the doctor's office when Jamie knows I'm waiting to see him, well... he would have given me that message - that's for sure. Anyhow, she gave me an appointment for January 3rd and said that if she finds my other appointment - she'll cancel it. January 3rd works for me, as I don't go back to school until the 9th. She then calls me back 15 minutes later, she cannot find my file anywhere, and asks if I'm really a patient. I've been going there since I was 16, so almost 9 years now... and I told her that my mother is a patient there - and that the doctor has known me for over 24 years, as he delivered me via c-section when I was born! Ugh! When I told my mother this - she told me that they have lost her file plenty, but they always seem to find it! Good to know, huh? Oh well, I'm sure it will all work out - I just want a regular check up!
I had fever all afternoon, and it started going away after dinner. Nothing too high, just 99.5, but still, I felt like my face was burning up hotter than that - but I kept checking my fever, it never went higher than 99.5. I hope it doesn't come back - one week left of school, I don't need this right now.

This afternoon I took the afternoon to watch Disc 1 of Newlyweds: The final season. Very sad to think that Nick & Jess broke up, and announced it practically at the same time that their final season of their show was being released on DVD. I really like the 2 of them together, and she's so dumb, I love it. I enjoyed Disc 1 - can't wait to watch Disc 2.

This evening I watched Survivor with Jamie, and then at 9pm I watched CSI and then at 10pm I watched ER. I taped The OC, Apprentice and Without a Trace. I am a Thursday night TV Junkie. I don't watch TV on Wednesday, Friday or Saturday nights. And the other nights, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays, I don't really watch much except 1 or 2 shows. But come Thursdays - TV is my weakness!

I worked more on my baby blanket tonight, I'm on the 3rd ball of yarn. It's baby pink and I think it's coming out really nice. I'll photograph it tomorrow - I am sure it will be really coming along then. It's working out just perfectly. I'm loving it!

Off to bed, class early tomorrow.

We Won Something! (Well, He Did!)

This morning I got to class early, and started working effeciently on my project that's due next Wednesday. I have a lot of work to finish on it, and it is coming along, but slowly. I think I made great progress today. Things are coming along smoothly. Anyhow, when Olivier, the kid that no one likes, showed up... instead of taking a chair from another desk, since the desk that he always sits at was missing a chair - he took the teacher's chair, so...

I stopped him and said "You are aware that you're taking the teacher's chair - arent' you?"
He replied, "This is my chair."
I said, "Is your name on it."
He said "No, but I always have the chair with the bar to put my feet."
I said, "But you're taking the teacher's chair. You should take a chair from another desk, or atleast replace the chair and give the teacher another one, if you want that one in specific."

Did he replace the teacher's chair? No.

I watched 2 movies this afternoon, first I wanted to watch a chick flick, so I watched The Perfect Man. Turns out, that one of the MAIN characters in this movie alongside Hillary Duff - is Vanessa Lengies - former Montrealer, whom I went to Europe with in 2002!! She's my sister's age, and I know her! That is sooo messed up. Vanessa, who plays Amy in this movie, had a HORRIBLE accent! Vanessa's been getting a lot of film roles lately, we'll see how she does in future movies. Her next movie, Stick It - is with Jeff Bridges. She was on American Dreams as Roxanne Bojarski, not that I watched that show or anything, but I thought that was pretty damn cool. Also - in The Perfect Man, she played CHRIS NOTH'S NIECE! AHHH! CHRIS NOTH! Mr. Big from Sex & The City... one of the sexiest men alive on this planet! Hee hee! It was a cute movie, a little cheesy though.

The next movie that I watched was Millions. "Ethics, being human and the soul all come to the forefront on this masterly-written, directed and acted, fun, very rare film when a 5-year old finds a bag of Pounds with a few days to spend before the currency is switched to Euros and learns what we are really made of." "The UK is about to switch its currency from Pounds to Euros, giving a gang a chance to rob the poorly-secured train loaded with money on its way to incineration. But, during the robbery, one of the big bags falls literally from the sky on Damian's playhouse, a 5-year old given to talking to saints. The boy then starts seeing what the world and the people around him are made of. A very rare film in which ethics, being human and the soul all come to the forefront on this masterly-written, directed and acted, very fun, film. Don't miss this opportunity to your train to heaven!" Very cute movie. I enjoyed it.

Spoke to my professional wedding photographer - I'm going on Tuesday to pick up my proofs - SOOO EXCITED! 3pm - Tuesday. AHHH! FINALLY!

Tonight we had a party for a supplier that my dad's company deals with. It was at the Ritz Carlton, the food was great, the wine kept coming and Jamie won a digital camera - 5.1 megapixels, the Fuji Z1 (see pictures below) ! We both never win anything, so this was a fun thing! We also walked home with 2 bottles of Vodka - as the theme was ABSOLUT for the party.

Ran into the guy who photographed my sweet 16, my brother's bar mitzvah and my sister's sweet 16. He was wondering why we didn't call him for my wedding, however my mom did try reaching him, but at the time he wasn't shooting weddings or something and was importing men's sneakers or something. He started his own company or something, and it's in the computer industry, that's why he was at the dinner. Anyhow, he was amazed that I had completed a 3 year photography course and that I was now a professional photographer as well. (If you want to call me that - I'm currently a non-working professional then). Didn't really know anyone else at the dinner, except for my mother & father, my dad's employee Paul and Jamie...

Tiredness Due To Antibiotic

I just spoke to the pharmacist and my tiredness is related to the antibiotic that I'm on. It's not usually a side effect, it's rare, but she said that it could happen. She also said that headaches are also a side effect, and I had one of those the other day too... was it yesterday or the day before? I'm so messed up with time right now because I slept yesterday from noon til about 6:11 pm and then again today from about 1:30pm until about 6pm again! I woke up again just as Jamie was getting home from work. I was up early today though, at about 7:45 am, as I had to bring my car to get boomerang installed (security device). I couldn't sleep when I got home from bringing my car (Jamie gave me a ride back from the garage place) and then my grandmother drove me back there around lunch to pick up my car. I was able to finish the scarf I was working on, as well as creating a checklist for all the items I have left to accomplish in the next week and a half for school.

When I got back from picking up my car (and stopping at the pharmacy on my way home to photocopy 2 of my drawings 6 times each for class on Thursday (so I have something to do in clas - colour them in!) I crawled up on the couch and put on a fire, and started to read my magazine, but didn't make it past 2 pages, I passed out! Didn't take long! I am not liking this sleeping all afternoon! I need to find time to work on my projects for school, as I only have a week left and there is soooo much to do! And there seems to be something EVERY day! Busy Busy Bee!

I LOVE NeroVision Express. I discovered it today. I was trying to figure out how to transfer Six Feet Under Season 5 so I can watch it on my TV and not on my computer after downloading the entire season. It doesn't come onto DVD until next Spring/Summer or so, there is no release date as of yet, and so I have no idea when it will be out.... and Six Feet Under will be a marathon to watch over Xmas break. Dying to finally sit down and watch it all, from beginning to end! (As well as Sopranos, so I can catch up to season 6 which is airing in March 2006). (I have seen season 1 and season 5 of Sopranos, but I will re-watch everything in order).....

Also on my winter break list of thing to do:

  • Scrapbook from disposable cameras from the wedding (Start & Finish!)
  • Re-learn my sewing machine (need a table to put it on first... soon, hopefully)
  • Watch the movies on my TO WATCH list Start working on baby blanket in baby pink yarn...

and I'm sure I can find more projects to work on!

Zeus went UNDER the blanket I put on the bed everyday - to eliminate cat hair from the duvet we sleep with... this picture defeats the purpose! LOL.

Everyday Should Have Nap Time!

Class this morning was very productive, I finished my Quark Magazine Layout (show above in Quark view with colums and gutters and margins and text boxes!), which I created a front page to a magazine that I created myself, called WG magazine (women's garden magazine). I just have some of the preliminary work for it to finalize, but that project, due next Monday is pretty much all done. 3 projects to finish (Illustrator Colour Project (start and finish for the 16th of December), 2D/3D project (almost done), and my Graphic Design Layout project (1/2 done, I'd say)...) So things are progressing nicely for my school projects! I can't believe next week is the final week of school until our 3 week vacation. Wow - time flew!

After doing a return at Zellers (shirts that I didn't try on in the store because I was too lazy and didn't look good on me!) I came home, put a fire on in the den, and laid down on the couch.... and pretty much passed out for 6 hours. The next thing I know, Jamie's waking me up for dinner, after getting home from work, at around 6:11pm. I can't believe I slept for 6 hours! I must have been zonked!

I feel better that I napped, but I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to fall asleep tonight! At least I don't have school tomorrow, just an appointment to get a tracking GPS device installed into my car.

Anyhow, I'm off to bed. I think everyday should have nap time, but not too long, so it doesn't effect your sleep pattern/routine at night!

Jamie's 30th Birthday Party

Robyn bringing Jamie the cake!

Robyn & Jamie

The poker cake we made for the poker party!

The party last night was a huge success. We had almost 20 people over (I thought it would be more, but there are a couple of people who didn't show up.) My cousin Aaron won the first game, and our friend Sheldon came in second. Jamie didn't even make the cut, even though we gave him a free roll of a chance! (For his birthday). It was fun. I didn't play, because there were a few wives of Jamie's friends who didn't play poker and since I was hosting the party, I had to entertain.... which is okay, because after most people left and we played a second (small game) I kicked my brother out in 3rd place, and it was down to 2 people left, Jamie & I!

I had a lot of fun this past weekend, hanging out with my sister-in-law, and just chilling out. Today Jamie & I chilled, we watched Apprentice which we taped on Thursday night, and then we watched the movie The 40 year old virgin. What a funny but stupid movie. You know what? It was mindless entertainment for 2 hours. Exactly what I needed today. Didn't even get out of my pj's. I love days like that! I worked on my scarf, did a letting bit of sketching for my layout class tomorrow, so I can continue on my project in class tomorrow efficiently.

Craft Time!

This is my sister modeling the scarf that I made her. She absolutely loves it (I'm glad)!

This is the scarf that I started on Friday night, I finished it by 7pm on Saturday! It's chunky and I love it! I can't wait to wear it out in public tomorrow!

This is the new scarf that I started. I really must graduate from scarves to something else! But I love making scarves! It's relaxing and so much fun.

This is a close-up of the colour of the new scarf I'm making. I started it at about 2pm today, and I am almost ifnished it now, actually. From the 6 balls of yarn it will take, I have about 2 left to go, so it's more than halfway done. It'll be finished by tomorrow for sure, and then I just have to decide who I'm making it for!!!

This weekend has been a very productive weekend for crochet! I made a scarf and a half, and that's impressive to me!
