27 Weeks

Sean is now 27 weeks. That's 6 months and 1 week. He can now, if he drops his bottle, pick it up and put it back in his mouth. Very impressed! He tried apples for the first time today (puree), which I'm assuming is just like apple sauce, so next time, I'm going to pick up unsweetened apple sauce, instead of baby food. (So far, I haven't had the energy or the time to make baby food. Plus, I haven't done it myself, and I'd like to be shown how for the first time. I'm a good visual learner!) He's getting so big, so fast.

My mom was going through some pictures of Sean from the other day while I was at her house, and she came across this image. I think he's trying to tell us something! I certainly didn't teach him to use the finger!

Sean now actually has some hair. I love running my fingers through it, and trying to spike it up! It's so much fun to try to style it like that after a bath! Slowly but surely his blonde hair is growing in!
I worked a bit on Jaywalkers today. Not enough to warrant a progress picture. I didn't even bother to pick up the chevrons to figure out a new colorway. But since I'm not going to use Fire on the Mountain for the Chevron, I'm not going to ever wear a pair of socks in that color, so I either need a new project to use it for, or sell the yarn. I am not sure yet.

Signed up for Ravelry a while ago when I got my invite, however, I haven't had time to sit down and play with it. I don't even know where to begin on there. But with a 6 month old baby, I know I do not have time to take pictures of my stash individually to upload there. There is no way (with the size of my stash). For all of those people who don't have me on their list, I'm Knitpurlmama.

Today I went to Walmart to return two jugs of Tide back to Walmart and pick up H.E. detergent instead. Now, the guy at Sears told me that the H.E. detergent was just about the same price as regular detergent. HELL NO! It's more expensive! I have no idea what he was talking about. I picked up Tide H.E. Free, so that I can use it on Sean's baby clothes. However, how long does one wash a child's clothes in "baby" detergent anyhow. I have 3/4 of a bottle left of regular Tide and a bottle and a half of baby laundry detergent and I have time until my future tenants move in, so I'm using my old washer & dryer for now, until I either run out of laundry detergent, or my new tenants move in! I picked up while at Walmart a bunch of food items, and plan on making in bulk my meat sauce, hopefully tomorrow. Jamie was supposed to work from home tomorrow, and watch Sean while I was going to make sauce, but since he has to go into work, I will have to figure it out, or hope he naps long enough for me to cook. (Once the meat is frying, I cannot leave it alone, so someone has to watch Sean).

It's amazing how many friends I'm seeing on facebook that are pregnant (due soon) or just had a baby! Everyone seems to be joining the bandwagon of mommyhood! Makes me sooo jealous because I miss being pregnant....! I think it's just a phase I must be going through, because I know deep down I'm not ready to have number 2 yet. I have to stop dreaming about either being pregnant, or having a newborn! Because technially - Sean is still a baby! Even though I think he's a big boy now!

I started a new book, Girl Most Likely To by Poonam Sharma, and it's cute. It's about an Indian girl who agrees to allow her traditional parents set her up with an Idian attorney who turns out to be gay. This throws her back into the arms of her ex-boyfriend, a relationship that only existed in the past. She's got 30 months until she turns 30, and she doesn't want to end up alone. I'm about 100 or so pages in, and it's a really fast read. I started it about 2 days ago, but I only read at night before falling asleep. It's chick lit, but I have to read more to see if I really do like this book.

I got some books in the mail today from Patty, who was my SP9 hostess, and was in my group for SP10. I am in her notions bag swap (My pal received my bag already, and I'm waiting to receive mine, but we didn't have to mail them out until the end of July, so it'll come eventually), and I won a contest for this swap, just by following some simple instructions. Patty sent me 3 books. Knitting Cuff to Cuff, Back on Blossom Street (The 3rd book in this series - I have the first two) & The Undomestic Goddess. Thank you Patty!

I also ordered Fitted Knits after seeing about 4-5 items in there that I want to make!

I think though, my purchasing for July is over. I'm not going to rule out necessities, but I've picked up a few items that I was longing for back in June when I was Not Buying It (Unless it was with birthday money!) and I'm going to avoid the shopping thing for July as well. I need a break from it. I don't need any more "things". Really, they're just "things". I wonder why "Things" make us feel better most of the time? Most of the time I tend to impulse shop, and though I tend to feel better after shopping, it's a high that doesn't last that long, and well, I want to find other ways to be happy rather than shopping. The only thing I think I'm expecting via mail this month is Fitted Knits, and my Harry Potter order mid-month when it's released. That's been pre-ordered for months!

I missed the recycling truck today. I knew it had to go out, and totally thought I'd be able to get it out before it came, but Sean only woke up at 10:30 am this morning (after going to bed last night around 10:30pm, sleeping almost 12 hours!) and I missed the truck, since I sleep in until Sean wakes me up. So we'll be sitting with an over-flowing recycling bin until next week. This week, it was filled to the rim. I was very careful to make sure that I recycled instead of throwing out.

Today, I'm "showcased" (my stitch markers) on Piddleloop's blog. She uses my samples when she sells her knitting notions bags. She has three Etsy sellers that she buys from, and I'm one of them! I also send her along free samples to use on the pouches, regardless of her buying from me. Don't forget, until July 15th, I'm offering free stitch markers with every purchase! So if you buy one set you get free stitch markers, if you buy 2 sets, you get even more stitch markers, and so on! You don't even need a coupon code, it's automatic! My etsy shop is here.

Big Brother 8 started tonight, and Jamie & I are already annoyed with some of the characters on the show. Let's see if we're able to continue watching it. After Big Brother, I watched Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, and it's really cute. Half the time I have no idea what the answers are, but then again, I never learned US geography, or US History, so that eliminates a few of the questions.

Somehow I managed to get on 2K Blogger's Directory. Yep, me. No idea how, but I did inquire on how I made this list.... It would have been nice if I was notified! Apparently they think I have a "voice". There are 1979 blogs on this list. And. I'm. On. There.

Anyhow, I'm going to go read a bit.

Just a thought about the home-made baby food, but I would think you could give Sean anything you eat as long as you throw it into the blender first. Of course this is just a guess as I have never had a child and therefore never tried out this theory, so you can tell me I'm wrong if that is the case.

I just came back from visiting the link to the post on your stitchmarkers. That was great of her to do that for you and the other two. I hope you'll get some orders from that promo!

I'm on facebook too! Most of the people on my list are people I know from church or work, and most of them are married with kids and that makes me sad sometimes. I'd love to be married and have kids (better hurry up, I'm advancing in age!). Sometimes being single makes me feel out of the loop.

ha. I watched part of "Are You Smarter than a 5th grader" too but it was only a few minutes. ooh, you'll love fitted knits. I still haven't knitted anything out of it but I've been wanting to start on a couple of projects just haven't taken the time to find the right yarn.
