42 Weeks

Today Sean is 42 Weeks old. On his 42 week of life he showed his house 3 times today, in order to help mommy & daddy sell the place. He also watched mommy accept the counter offer and get the house that she is in love with. It may not be 100% her dream home but it's pretty darn close. So pending the house inspection this house is ours:

I absolutely love the doors off the master bedroom that lead onto a patio. I just love that I will have a patio off my bedroom door. Right now, where I live, all I see out my tiny bedroom window is the neighbor's kitchen 12 feet away. (The width of my driveway).

This is the little park in the middle of the crescent in front of my new house. Oh, I can't wait for Sean to be old enough to go play in the park.

Providing we settle around November 1st on the house (meaning getting possession of the house and receiving keys) I will probably take Sean trick-or-treating on Hallowe'en to meet the neighbors. I think that is a nice idea.

I did a swap with Jenna and she sent me some sport weight black (Louet) yarn for Sean's blankie. I carry Louet in my shop, but not solid colors in Sport Weight. I also did a swap with Laura (which I haven't gotten yet), but she's sending me fingering weight. I cannot decide yet which will be better (the sport or the fingering) so I will decide when I am done all the squares and start on the border. But this way I have both on hand, ready to go. And the one that I don't use, will be used for the girl blankie I will start after I finish Sean's blankie. I guess that's to hoping that our next child (future not now) is a girl. Especially since Jamie only wants 2 kids and I want a boy and a girl, and since I already have my boy, I wish for a girl next.... here's to hoping it works out that way.

Thanks to Froggie Meanie, Sean now is the new owner of wooden blocks. I saw her daughter had some and I've been looking for them for a while now. Froggie Meanie let me know that Chapters.ca sells them, and I wanted to get Jenny McCarthy's new book Louder Than Words. It's about her journey with her son and autism. Even though there is apparently no proven link between shots and autism, I'm still intrigued about autism, so I will do some reading.

No knitting got done today. For the most part of the day I spent it cleaning my entire house. Laundry needed to get done, and I needed to really tidy up around here in order to show the place. I have more work to do tomorrow & Saturday before the open house on Sunday, but so far, the house is a lot more tidier. (PHEW!) I hope Saturday will be a relaxing day.

With all that is going on around here I'm resigning as Stitch Marker Hostess. I've had 5 great rounds and I am looking for someone to take over. I've made an official announcement on the blog, and need someone soon, as the Winter Swap Sign ups should commence soon. (November 1st?)

Today I managed to find time to watch the first three episodes of Pushing Daisies, the new series on TV. (Sans commercials - I hate commercials!) Anyhow, what a great show. In Episode 2, one of the main characters shows his knitting side - very cute!

love the house - is it late 60's? - those window and doors were used heaps here in Oz then and the proportion of the rooms are great from that time - the ceilings higher and the windows big letting in heaps of natural light. Fingers crossed - it looks great.

I love Pushing Daisies too. It's so cute. I haven't watched the 3rd episode yet, but I probably will this weekend. Emerson knitting in ep. 2 cracked me up.

i'm super happy for you.

i'm kind of "meh" still on pushing daisies...it gets too sickingly sweet cutesey and i sometimes wish it would tone it down and go with the quirky more.

Sean and Mommy look very happy in that picture :o)

The house looks great! I can't wait to see pics of the inside of it. The park looks like it will be great, and it's good that it's nice and close to home too. Hope everything regarding the move, house inspection, getting the keys, packing, etc., etc., etc. goes very well and very quickly for you!

The new house looks awesome! I love the idea of a patio off the bedroom! You're so lucky! (I think I might be a little jealous, lol)

Those melissa and Doug products are awesome. My guys had really great shape puzzles from their line. You know the little pictures on wooden pieces with pegs and they fit into their assigned places like a puzzle but much much easier/ Ben was especially fond of his "Tools" one. Start hunting them down for Xmas.
