Last Day of the Year

Today I'm reflecting on my finished objects of 2007. What's great, is that I got ONE LAST project finished just in the knick of time! Jamie's cabled socks, they made the 2007 finished object pile! Whoot!

Stats:

Pattern: Cabled Socks from Steppin' Out (Pattern by Mona Schmidt)
Yarn: Schachenmayr nomotta Regia Color 4-ply / 4-fädig - 2 Skeins - Color 524 (Brown)
Needles: US 2 / 2.75 mm Rosewood DPNs
Made for: Jamie for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary (finished a little belated)
Timeline: August 31st, 2007 - December 31st, 2007

MEME

The first sentence (or two in my case!) of each first post of the month for 2007:

January: My milk finally came in today and I realized this when my shirt was leaked on! February: I received in the mail today, my Sassy Photo Books called Who Loves Baby.
March: Today has been a long day.
April: Jamie went with his uncle to a cousin's house today to pick up a love seat that they were throwing out since they got new couches.
May: I got an awesome package of leftover sock yarn from Suzie today in the mail - thank you Suzie!
June: Today started off as a good day.
July: Happy Canada Day to everyone who is Canadian!
August: This morning I got my Notions bag swap in the mail from Lisa.
September: Last night Sean got up at about 1 am (well that's this morning really) and was screaming his head off.
October: There has been progress tonight on my father-in-law's Irish Hiking Scarf
November: Sean is 44 weeks old today.
December: Last night was horrible again.

In 2007 I:
Got pregnant.
Learned how to be a mother.
Met challenges of motherhood.
Watched my son turn 1.
Met the Yarn Harlot.
Bought and sold a house in a span of 2 weeks each.
Moved to my childhood neighborhood.
Became an ex-landlord.
Opened my own business.

In 2008 I will:
Be the best mother any son could ever ask for. And that's all that matters.
Give birth to a beautiful baby.
Ameliorate my business.

The other day, I can't remember which anymore, I mounted my new yarn storage to the wall (there are 4 cubbies, I'll take a full length shot later). Also - I hung two nails on the wall for my sock blockers! What a great way to "store" them while I'm not using them - might as well display socks that have SSS (second sock syndrome! LOL). Those two socks on the wall are 1) (left) My Married Sock and B) (right) My Jaywalker. Eventually I'll finish them! That's the plan. One day soon! The artwork on the wall is an original Sabrina Ward Harrison (autographed) painting. I bought it and had her sign it when I went to her workshop back in 2004 in Portland, Maine. (What an interesting experience that was).

My sister came to watch Sean today while I went to my last Aqua class at the Y near my old house. My membership expires on January 2nd, 2008, so today was my last time going. I told (my fave) instructor that I plan on trying to come to 1 class per month (which will cost me 10$ to enter). Unless a friend of mine can get me in on a guest pass, I definitely want to try to make it to a class here and there - only because I love the instructor!

Today I'm 16 weeks pregnant. 4 months! That's crazy. Where does time go? I will post my 16 week shot tomorrow (since today I've got a lot of photos to share with you - I'll save the photo for tomorrow). (Plus I have pool hair right now, from my aqua class!) (I hate pool hair!) I've been getting good feedback about my weekly Sean shots - I think I'll keep them for as long as he'll let me photograph him! Thanks for the feedback!

This evening we went to Jamie's step-sister's house for dinner. I started not feeling well this morning, with a bad abdominal pain. (Hopefully it's nothing). If it's still there tomorrow, I'm going to call the doctor. But I'm sure it's nothing. A pain I don't recognize from my pregnancy with Sean - but nevertheless, I'm not going to worry. We left at about 9:30 pm and headed home, I couldn't last out anymore. I just wanted my pjs and the couch. We've been sitting on the couch since getting home, Sean has fallen asleep (later than usual probably due to the sugar in Nana's banana cake - which he loves) and we're about to go watch the ball drop with Dick Clark.

I'm leaving up the January Sock Club kits for a few more days, so that you all have a chance to get one if you've been away for the holidays, etc. Don't forget that taxes (GST) have gone down from 6% to 5% and will be changed at midnight in the shop. HST (maritimes) has also gone down from 14% to 13%. Our boxing day sale is on until Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008. Everything (excluding sock club kits) is 15% off. Last chance to get a January Sock Club kit. Mona Schmidt (Who designed my Cabled Socks above) will be designing the pattern and Perfect Day Yarns will be dying up the yarn.

Hope you all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR and see you in 2008!!!!

December 30 of 31

Today Jamie's mom and her wife came over for a visit. They hadn't seen our new house yet, and hadn't seen Sean in a while. They stayed for about an hour and a half, and then Sean finally took a nap (overdue). His sleeping habits have been off over the last week due to Xmas and all that jazz. They asked me what Sean wanted/needed for his birthday, and there is only 1 item that I was able to think of that I definitely want for him (the kid is spoiled - LOL). I would like a flip open sofa bed/chair for him. I don't care if it's Spiderman, Caillou (I know I've seen, can't find the link now), Cars, Diego, Thomas the Train, or Winnie the Pooh:

I think by far - my fave one is the Thomas the Train (or Tank) one. I don't know why - but I like that one. Hopefully Sean will get one for his birthday - at his party - or some money so I can buy one for him for his birthday. I think it'll be great for naps when we're at someone else's house, or even when he doesn't feel like napping in his crib, I can have him nap in my office for example while I do work. I think it would be a great item to have.

I really really really want a Dish Chair for my bedroom. It would be a great reading or knitting chair - as well as something I can use on my patio off my bedroom in the summer. I used to have a cheaper version of this, that was probably like this one, and LOVED it. However it got left out one winter on our balcony in our apartment and got ruined. I'd love to have one like this above. Definitely need to go to Target to get one! I want to road trip to the USA one of these days. My mom is trying to convince me to road trip to Ottawa (she wants a few stores there, and I definitely want to go to Michaels, but I also want Target, and there is no Target in Ottawa... only in the USA). I also have US cash still that I had saved for Rhinebeck - and then didn't end up going to Rhinebeck due to our move/buying a new house.

I'll be adding these two (sofa chair and dish chair) onto my wishlist for Sean & I.

I have been working LIKE MAD on Jamie's Cabled Socks. I definitely will have them done before 2007 ends. You will see a FINISHED OBJECT before 2008. (Maybe even 2 FO's!) I'm hoping to finish the socks in enough time to also then finish my thrummed mittens....! (There is actually more progress than what the link of the picture I just linked).

So... you've all be waiting for the list of books I picked up the other day when I went to the Sale at Chapters on the Saturday before Christmas. They had a buy 3 books and get 1 free sale. I bought 8 books, which are:

- The Going to bed Book by Sandra Boynton
- Harmony Guide: Cables & Arans: 250 Stitches to Knit by Erika Knight
- Harmony Guide: Lace & Eyelets: 250 Stitches to Knit by Erika Knight
- Harmony Guide: Knit & Purl: 250 Stitches to Knit by Erika Knight
- Cables Untangled: An Exploration of Cable Knitting by Melissa Leapman
- Junior Knits by Debbie Bliss
- Knitting Circles Around Socks: Knit Two at a Time on Circular Needles by Antje Gillingham
- Yarnplay by Lisa Shobhana Mason (I entered a contest to win a copy of this book, should I win I will exchange it for another book)

So there you have it. My 8 new books. Well, 7 of them are mine. 1 is Sean's. I can't wait to crack them open!

Tonight Sean & I went to my parents house for dinner and we stayed to watch the Habs game. We unfortunately lost 4-3 in overtime against the Rangers, after a 2 game winning streak. It was a good game though. (I worked on Jamie's Cabled Socks during the game).

I cannot believe tomorrow is the last day of the year. I'm sitting on the couch now watching Law & Order Criminal Intent. Not my fave spin off but something to watch nonetheless. More knitting to go do! Must finish in 2007!!

December 29 of 31

Sean now has a 5th and 6th tooth. They must have cut the gums recently (he's been drooling a lot lately) and are now growing tall! They're still at the beginning stages of growing, but it's soo cool to see that he has more teeth! The tops ones (7th and 8th) will for sure cut the gums soon. He has pockets on his gums, I see them wanting to come out!

I got a notice in the mail yesterday, GST will be going down from 6% to 5% on Tuesday, January 1st, 2008. That's exciting! Last year it went from 7% to 6% - I like this annual decrease! Maybe they'll do it every year until it disappears!?? Wouldn't that be nice.

So, I have a question for you - my dear readers - Do I continue with my weekly shots with Sean when he turns the next week older, or do I just do monthly ones only? I will be doing my weekly pregnancy shots - those are fun for my own progress during the remainder of my pregnancy, but, now that Sean is a year old... what do you think? I haven't decided yet if I will continue with those - what's your opinion? Do you guys still want weekly shots of Sean?

Today we did a HUGE clean up around the house. Really - things are coming along in our new house. There are a few things left to do - and a few more boxes to unpack - but I got A LOT accomplished today. My office though - is the last thing that still has a lot of boxes. I have not finished unpacking my office yet. I'll get to it this week - I hope. It's also easier to do stuff like that when Jamie is home - so he can watch/play with Sean while I organize/clean. But I really like the way things are coming along here. Very happy with that.

This evening we went to Jamie's step-aunt & step-uncle's house for dinner, and then some people played poker, and some people played on the Wii, some on a playstation. I checked out the playstation, as they were doing Kareoke as well as a Quiz game called Buzz. It was SOOO much fun. Too bad they do not make it for the Wii... I am not really impressed with a lot of the Wii games (though I love bowling!) Too bad I don't have a Playstation 2 game machine. There seems to be some games that I'd love on there! It's not new technology anymore, maybe I can get a 2nd hand one? There are a bunch of games on there I'd love!

It was nice to see the family tonight. Jamie played poker and came in 1st place in the first game. He played both games (tournament style). I watched Sean and played some playstation, and knit on Jamie's Cabled Socks. I've completely turned the heel - so I am hoping to finish the sock before the end of 2007... I think it can be done! (I'm hoping so anyhow!) I guess it's asking too much to finish my thrummed mittens too before 2007? (Yeah, definitely asking too much - that's for sure!) Progress photos tomorrow.

Sean's First Birthday

A year ago today my son was born at 4:44 am. You wouldn't believe it if I told you that this morning during the night, Sean woke up at 3:50 am, so I being too tired, I brought him into my bed. (I'm a suck - I know). At 4:44 am - he actually turned over and whacked me in the face, the time he was born a year ago. How ironic! I kissed him on the forehead, wished him happy birthday, and we went back to sleep.

A couple of hours old.

A day old.

Two Days old.

A week old.

A month old.

Two months old.

Three months old.

Four months old.

Five months old.

Six months old.

Seven months old.

Eight months old.

Nine months old.

Ten months old.

Eleven months old.
On his first birthday:

Blowing out the candle.

Enjoying his birthday cake.

Really enjoying his birthday cake.

Sharing his birthday cake with mommy.

The clean up.

Some decorations in our house.

Today was a great day. This afternoon we did some shopping with my mother and we ran some errands. I also signed Sean up for Aqua-Strollers (which I think is more for me) in the water on Wednesdays. So we'll be running (literally) from his music class at the Y to the pool (about 8 streets away or so - not that bad) and we have 45 minutes in between each to get our butts into the pool. I think we can do it. If it's really not possible, we have until before the 3rd class to cancel, and all we'll lose is the money per class we attended, plus a 20$ fee. But I think 45 minutes is do-able - it's not that far, and I totally can be wearing my bathing suit under my clothes before I leave the house, to make things easier. It doesn't take that long to change Sean into his bathing suit, it's the changing AFTER getting out of the water that is a killer.
Today was a nice day, and we had our immediate family over for dinner to celebrate Sean's 1st birthday. I think he had a good time (got some great gifts and is already having fun with them!). He got a play tent (we definitely need a larger house now!), a sports center, an xylophone, a toy car, and a pair of PJ's. Our house is filling up with kid stuff, I'm afraid for his first birthday party!

I got an email today that two of my photos that are on FLICKR, with my permission, will go on to a selection phase for a website schmap.com - for their newsletter of Montreal attractions, etc. I have two images that were selected, that I took at the Montreal Biodome last summer. (We didn't go this past year, Sean's too young). The two images selected are this one and this one. I will keep you posted if they make it to the final production of this website.

FIFTY TWO WEEKS

Today, Sean is 52 weeks old. Tomorrow - he turns 1. ONE! ONE! ONE! I can't believe it. Tomorrow. (Actually in a couple of hours - he was born at 4:44 am). Tomorrow night we're having immediate family over for Sean's first birthday - I'm cooking dinner - it will be good!

I got the link for the knitting pin that I got for Xmas from my in-laws. If you are interested and must have a pin like mine - you can get one here. I am really not too sure how they even came across it (but now I'm curious)... but isn't it just GORGEOUS!??? I'm loving it. It's the best present ever. Especially for a knitter. If you get one - let me know! I'm curious to whom will buy themselves a nice knitting gift!

This morning my cleaning lady showed up punctual, as usual, and while she cleaned my house - I tidied up. I had a lot of things to organize. I got rid of every single box that was still in my dinning room. I had wine glasses/martini glasses, knick knacks, etc, that had not been unpacked yet. The dinning room is in much better condition now. Not everything was 100% put away, but it's getting there! I have a bit more work to do in there tomorrow before our dinner guests come for Sean's first birthday dinner, but it shouldn't take me long at all.

The next step will be tackling my office. I am currently still operating out of boxes. I haven't unpacked everything. I also bought the storage thing for my personal yarn stash - but haven't had time yet to mount it to the wall - and I want to unpack my personal stash already.

This afternoon after re-organizing Sean's play room (his soon-to-be "Big Boy" room), I ran out with Sean to do some errands. I had some stuff to pick up - groceries as well as some items for Sean's first birthday party (napkins, plates, streamers, loot bag items for the kids, party stuff!) and ended up with Sean at Walmart. I wanted to see if there was anything on sale for Boxing Day (which has turned into "boxing day week"). A couple of items that I've picked up in the last 2-3 weeks, has gone on sale - so I've picked them up - and I'll be able to get the difference back. I hate when that happens! You buy something and then a week or two (or three) later, it goes on sale! Always my luck. But then again, I'm the master of finding good deals - so I won't complain!

I've finally completely emptied out the trunk of my car - so I've brought into the house the books that I got from Chapters last week. I will give you a full list of the knitting books I bought over the weekend. I do have to tell you - that they are great books! I'm so excited to dig into them!

What I don't understand is that I'm waiting on mail from the USA that has been mailed now over 2 weeks ago - yet, a DVD that I ordered on Friday night from the UK arrived here this morning in my mail box, and there has been no mail for the past 2 days. (No mail mail on the weekends here either). So it had Monday and this morning to travel to my door. There was no mail on Xmas nor on Boxing Day. I just can't believe my copy of Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris got here this morning before 11 am! I plan on sitting down this weekend and watching my fave childhood Christmas break movie. I'll let you know if it was everything I remember it to be!

There are still a few spots left in my January Sock Club. Better snatch yours up before they're all gone! Still going on - my 15% off on everything in stock sale (excluding the sock kits), until January 2nd, 2008.

December 26 of 31

I was right, my father-in-law did get some great shots of Sean in the Santa outfit from yesterday. He's just the cutest in this outfit - I have to say, he looks great in red.

The hat didn't stay on him too long, that's why I wasn't able to get a photo of him in it... by the time I got my camera out after taking his jacket off and putting him down on the floor when we got to my hubby's step-sister's house yesterday, the kid just wasn't interested in keeping the hat on his head! Gotta act fast if you want a photograph sometimes!

Today I took care of a couple of things around the house, and even baked some ginger cookies. They didn't 100% turn out the way I'd like them to of, but two of the trays from three came out pretty good. It was my first time making this recipe, but there are a few other ginger recipes that I'd like to try first before making this one again.

This evening we all went to my hubby's step-aunt & step-uncle's house and my hubby's step-brother, his wife and their son drove in from Toronto for about a week. We ordered Chinese and it was great to see our extended family. We were a LOT of people there tonight, and Sean had a great time. Sean got some more Xmas presents from his step-aunt & step-uncle (whom we consider to be more than just his "step" family) and he truly got spoiled. He got a Diego Laptop from his cousin. He likes it. It's a very neat toy.

I'm now watching some Law & Order SVU (Season 8). I've been addicted to it in the last few days. I've gotten through Season 7 pretty quickly (realizing I'd seen some of the episodes) and now I'm catching up on Season 8. (Season 9 is on TV now, and I'm all caught up on that as well). I'm trying to think if there is anything else I'd like to catch up on while the writer's strike is still on.

A year ago today, I went to Walmart, stood in line for a very long time, not even buying anything on sale for boxing day, came home, and my water broke. We rushed to the hospital. I totally thought Sean would be born tomorrow, but it took until the 28th for him to make his presence in this beautiful world. Ahhh, a year ago today, the journey of motherhood was about to begin! I can't believe my little man turns 1 on Friday.... It's been such a great year.

Just a reminder that everything at Robyn's Nest is 15% off until January 2nd, 2008 for Boxing Day. Also - you have a few days left to pick up a Sock Club kit for January. A kit you'll not want to miss! It's on sale until the end of the month. (Sock club kits are not included in Boxing Day Sale).

December 25 of 31

Here's my 15 week pregnancy picture, that I didn't feel like taking last night (wasn't in the mood). I took this picture at my hubby's step-sister's house. I love other people's bathrooms (for self-portrait photoshoots!)

I finished my Mother-in-Law's Birthday Scarf today, after giving it to her still on the needles - so that she could decide how long she wanted it to be, and then I was able to cast off.

Pattern: 3x3 Ribbing
Timeline: December 9 - 25th, 2007

I got this BEAUTIFUL knitting pin from my in-law's for Xmas, along with an HBC gift certificate. WOW - I am in LOVE with this pin. I've been wearing it on my shirt all afternoon. It's just so perfect. I've never seen anything like it before. What a perfect gift for someone who knits! I LOVE IT! Isn't it gorgeous?

Sean sported a very cute Santa outfit today. I think my father-in-law got a better picture when Sean didn't mind actually mind wearing the hat. (Eventually he got annoyed and kept pulling it off). I'll show you a picture when I get my father-in-law's photos (maybe tomorrow?) It's very hard to keep an almost 1 year old boy still for photos these days.

This morning we got to my hubby's step-sister's house for just after 9 am - and the kids were very impatient about opening their gifts. As soon as we arrived, they ripped into them! Sean got some cute outfits, and some new toys - and was sure spoiled. A great time was had by all! I spent the day there, taking a nap with Sean just after noon, and Jamie went home for a bit to take a nap. Dinner was nice, actually delicious, and Sean loves turkey, (or any meat) so he really enjoyed it.

It was great to see the family - and we'll get to see everyone again in a few weeks at Sean's first birthday party. Tomorrow Jamie's step-brother is coming in with his wife & son, so we'll be doing more family stuff tomorrow at some point. I'm hoping there is mail tomorrow - I'm expecting a few things in the mail! I am also hoping to finally get some time to make some ginger cookies tomorrow - that would be great. I'm totally craving some!

Don't forget that EVERYTHING at Robyn's Nest is 15% off for our Boxing Day Sale, until January 2nd (Sock Club kits excluded). Absolutely every item is on sale - be sure to check it out!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season & a Merry Xmas. Can't wait to see what you all got from Santa! Do share!

15 Weeks Pregnant {Baby Number 2}

No real belly growth since last week, I'm 15 weeks pregnant - and today was really busy so I didn't get a chance to take a belly shot this week - perhaps I'll take one tomorrow. But I will tell you about my day.

My sister was supposed to come babysit Sean this afternoon, so that I could go to Pre-Natal Aqua, as it was moved from the evening to the afternoon for this week & next, but she got sick (Feel better soon sis!) so I dropped Sean off at my parents house instead.

It felt great to get into the water. I am glad that our aqua teacher was able to get some pool time this afternoon, as the pool is closed tonight for Xmas Eve & next week for New Years Eve. I have two weeks left on my membership to the Y in the city, so I am glad that I have the opportunity to take use two more weeks of my membership, especially for a class that I like (Pre-Natal Aqua). Plus, I get to take the class with a friend of mine who is pregnant, so it's nice. I felt great after getting out of the water today.

On my way home I stopped off and did an errand for my mother, and then came home and straightened my hair (which I find hard for me to do and managed to burn my index finger while doing so - OUCH!) Also - I finished wrapping my Xmas gifts, and got ready to leave the house.

We picked up Sean from my parents house, and went to Jamie's step-sister's house for Xmas Eve dinner. It was immediate family only, and very nice. We put all our presents under the tree, and we will be going back there tomorrow morning to see everyone and open presents. Sean was very excited by all the lights & the tree. Wait til you see the outfit I have for Sean to wear tomorrow!

Tonight Jamie & I watched The Simpsons Movie after putting Sean to bed. It was just alright. I worked on my mother-in-law's birthday scarf, which I hope to be able to give her tomorrow... it's just about done (which means I need to go finish working on it!)

As a treat to you all Robyn's Nest is having a Boxing Day Sale - EVERYTHING is 15% off(unless it's already discounted further). (Sock club kits are not included in sale). The sale is going on until January 2nd, 2008. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

December 23 of 31

This morning I decided to go out (bravely) and pick up some groceries so that we can have pancakes for breakfast. The grocery store around the corner from my house was a complete zoo! I couldn't believe it. 11 am on a Sunday morning and it's a zoo. I guess everyone wanted to finish up their Xmas cooking before tomorrow night.

Sean absolutely loved my pancakes! It was my first time making pancakes myself, usually Jamie is the chef in the kitchen for pancakes. Anyhow, the pancakes were a huge hit! Sean also tried real milk for the first time. I gave him 3.25% milk, and he loved it. I plan on giving him 1 glass of milk per day for now of real milk. I'm still keeping him on formula for a while, he still likes his bottles, so I am not going to take them away from him yet.

This afternoon Sean & I took a very needed nap. Okay, maybe the nap is more needed for me, but we both fell asleep pretty quickly! After the nap, I got some birthday and Xmas gift wrapping done (though not finished) and my sister came over to play with Sean for a bit.

Late afternoon we went to my parents house as my grandmothers were there visiting, and they got to see Sean for a while. Then we all headed out for dinner, which was delicious. The dinner was to celebrate my sister's birthday which was on Wednesday, and my mother's birthday, which was yesterday. Today is actually my mother-in-law's birthday - Happy Birthday Norma! (I don't think she reads my blog either - but Happy Birthday to her!)

At the restaurant they came singing happy birthday to my sister and everyone wanted to see Sean's reaction to the candle. Well, he was excited.

They (my parents/sister) even let him try the birthday cake, his first time trying chocolate. Oh, I think he is going to like the surprise I have for him waiting on Friday - on his actual birthday! I can't wait. I think this kid is a chocoholic already!

Sean is pretty much walking as much as he can. It's really cute. Sometimes he takes a few steps and plops down, but most of the time he reaches his destination before falling - and is successful. It's too cute. The prediction of him walking before his first birthday is true! Here is a video of Sean attempting to walk a few days ago (he's improved since then!):

December 22 of 31

The Saturday before Christmas. A zoo. Parking lots jammed. Fuller than I've ever seen it before. People parking across the street and walking over to the mall. I met a friend this morning with some yarn goodies - stash enhancing her - and then decided to do three errands in the same mall. First stop Chapters, and I picked up about 8 books. 1 book for Sean - The Going To Bed Book by Sandra Boynton (which I read to him before bed tonight, and he loved it, as well as SEVEN knitting books for myself. The line up at Chapters was absolutely horrendous. However, it went fast. It only took me 20 minutes to get through it, and the line-up was spiraling throughout the store and then some. There was even a poster that at a certain point, you only had 10 minutes left until you reached the cash. Yeah, it was about accurate, and they had all 9 cashes open. Besides it being the Saturday before Christmas, they were having a special - Buy 3 books get the 4th Free. So I got 2 free books today. I won't complain. A list of my new knitting books that I added to my library to come shortly. Next stop was Les Aliment M&M. I wanted to pick up Mini Cream Puffs (mmm! Delicious) and also chicken breast. (We're not home for dinner the next 3 nights, but I wanted to pick it up so I can make dinner on Wednesday night before going to Knit Night. I have a specific recipe in mind. The last stop was Subway to pick up lunch for Jamie and I. Big mistake trying to move my car after going to Chapters & M&M. The parking lot was a zoo... but the Subways is on the other end of the mall.... and I didn't have any energy to walk over to it. If I wasn't almost 15 weeks pregnant, it may have been another story... I may have walked it!

This morning after running a few errands, I took Sean sledding in the circle that is our street. The road is still covered by snow (not all streets are still 100% covered, but ours is) and made a nice sledding area. The temperature after lunch today was so nice and warm, I had to take Sean out. Today was our first opportunity to do so - it wasn't below 0 degrees! Finally - a chance! I walked around our circle about 6 times, and he just loved it. Both of our faces were getting a little rosey, so I came home. He just loved it though. I definitely plan to take him many times more this winter - weather providing!

This afternoon I just sat on the couch and caught up on episodes of Season 7 of Law & Order SVU. I've seen the first couple of episodes, but I'm sure I have not seen the entire season. I stopped watching Season 7 when we moved from our apartment to our house - things and school just got too busy and I had lost interest for a while. I kept telling myself I wanted to catch up - and now I have time to do so - so I am. I got some knitting done this afternoon on Jamie's Cabled Socks.

Here is the progress on Jamie's Cabled Sock. I'm turning the heel right now. I should be working on my mother-in-law's scarf or my nephew's sweater. I have serious Knitting A.D.D. and OCD about what projects I want to work on - I swear! It's bad! I know my nephew's sweater will not be done for Xmas - I hope to get it to him (if) he comes in for my son's first birthday party (but that's a whole other story in itself, which I don't feel like talking about right now), if not I will mail it to him as soon as it's done. I am hoping though, to get the Cabled Socks done before 2007 is over. My mother-in-law's scarf, I'll be knitting up a storm tomorrow - which is why I chose Chunky Yarn, and Chunky needles.

Tonight (as we did last Saturday night, maybe a tradition is forming?) we went out for Chinese food in our area. I absolutely will NEVER say no to Chinese Food. Wonton soup is my absolute fave. As well as chicken fried rice, with spare rib sauce on top. Mmm, delicious. Anything else is good too - but Chicken Fried rice and Wonton Soup are my absolute fave. Totally hit the spot.

Today is my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday Mom! (I don't think she reads my blog - but just in case she does!) Tomorrow is my mother-in-law's birthday - December is just filled with birthday! (The 10th my hubby, the 19th my sister, the 22nd (today) my mom, the 23rd (tomorrow) my mother-in-law's, and the 28th, my son's!) Talk about a busy month!

Just a reminder that if you haven't picked up your January Sock Club kit yet, that it's going to be an extra special kit. Montreal's very own Mona Schmidt is designing the pattern and Perfect Day Yarn is dying up the yarn. We've lined up some extra special goodies for this month - so get your kit now while it's still available! Treat yourself! Buy a Chritmas gift for someone!
