07.05.10 :: 183 weeks old

183wksS
Sean is 183 weeks old today.

theautograph

Today the boys had swimming. And the quarterback was actually there today. So I actually had the courage to ask him for his autograph. He was super nice about it. His wife was there too, and she was saying how this morning was probably the only lesson he was actually able to come to this session as the team has already kicked off the new season - which I hope to take at least Sean to a game, if not Mack too) and see his daughter's swim lesson. And the one day he’s there, I bring my camera, but leave the memory card at home in the SD slot in my computer! ARGH! Still, I took advantage of him being there and got the autograph!

This afternoon I ran some errands while the boys went to daycare. Then I went to pick them up and we had some friends over for a playdate. Sean loves playing with his buddy from his soccer team. His mom & I go way back. She’s almost 38 weeks pregnant now, and wishes that she gave birth already. I feel for her. Especially in this heat. Today, the weather was about 32°C and with the humidex, about 41°C. HOT!

boysroom
This evening I finished re-organizing the boys room.
I had to do something because Mack’s bed wouldn’t fit on the other side of the dresser.

seansside

This is Sean’s side of the room. The bookcase is now by his bed.

macksside

And the dresser was moved by Mack’s bed.
So far, everything is okay.
And the changing table – which I still need for Mack (for now) is between their beds.

I put also a piece of black material (doubled over) behind their hockey curtains. This way, when the sun comes up in the morning, my boys will NOT be woken up by it. This morning, the 2 of them got up at the nice hour of 5:30 am. I cannot have a repeat of that tomorrow. I’m beat. The pregnancy is really keeping me tired this time. I can’t do 5:30 am every morning. Especially when they usually always get up only after 7 am. Crossing my fingers for a bit of a sleep in tomorrow then.

poolfeet

This is how I pretty much spent the entire weekend.
Lounging in the pool.
Ah, beautiful summer weekends!

starfishsean

And this is how the kids spent today & yesterday. Floating in the pool.

mackswim4th
Enjoying a rather warm pool on a hot day. You know, it’s still refreshing even if my mom keeps it at 93.2F. (Too bad they can’t use it all year!)

seanjumpinair
And Sean spent the entire day jumping off the diving board in different ways (like superman, like a canon ball, like a diver… you name it!)

macknewbed

After dinner Jamie helped my dad bring my old bred over from my parents house and Mackie moved into Sean’s room. I still have to do some re-arranging and the dresser in the room does not fit between the 2 beds, like I thought it would. So I have to move the dresser tomorrow and find somewhere else in the room. I also have to do some re-arranging of wall decor, as we had to take down some things so that Mackie wouldn’t knock it off the wall. (If you look very careful Mackie’s actually in his new bed – above – you can see the tip of his head!)

bigboybedmack

He’s loving his new bed. They both went to bed tonight at the same time (though later than their usual bedtime, as we got in from my parents later than usual). Let’s see how the first night pans out and how the morning goes. They usually do wake up at the same time anyhow, Mack usually is up first in his crib and his calling out for us 98% of the time wakes up Sean.

I worked some on Zoe’s February Baby Sweater today, I just need to decide how long I want to make the body, and then I just have some garter to do at the bottom and then it’s done. I also need to find some little tiny dainty buttons for it. Something pearl I think.

Happy July the 4th to my American friends!

5and8
Today Sean had soccer again.
This is Sean (#5) and his best friend on the team (#8)
I love this shot I got of them.

soccerlineup
The morning starts off as drills.

seanpracgoal

Sean worked on his skills.

seangoal
Sean scored many goals today.

goalagain
I lost count after 5 goals. The probably was more.
The kid is a super athlete.
  knitatsoccer
I got a bit of knitting done this morning on the sidelines.

popshotjuly3Today was Sean’s popsicle duty day, so we supplied the team with popsicles.
Here’s our weekly popsicle shot.

babybellies
Since my friend M is already 37 weeks pregnant (and a few days) and is hoping her baby is born any day now, we decided to take a belly to belly shot, before her belly is no more.
37 and a half weeks vs. 14 and a half weeks.
(Before I know it – I’ll be halfway through my pregnancy)

playforprize
This afternoon after lunch we headed to a local fair.
Sean refused to go on any of the rides.
One ride he saw scared him and he refused to go on even the train ride.
Maybe next year.

seanfairprize
So we played some games instead, and he won a monkey in a banana.
He was happy!

skiballfair

My fave game is ski ball.
I played it for almost an hour with Sean last night on the Wii!
Too bad I wasn’t as good in real life.

macklickwater
The rest of the afternoon (or rather almost all the afternoon) we spend in my parents pool.
(One of the many reasons why I moved 3 streets away!)
Mack tried out a new float device that worked out well for him.
He has a new obsession today with licking the water.
I don’t recall Sean ever doing this at that age.
Silly boy.

seanfloatsnorkel
And Sean’s new obsession is with the goggles and snorkel.
He’s too cute.
And a huge fish in the water.

seancotton

Papa (my dad) even made some cotton candy. Yum!

frontdoneyard

The landscapers came today and finished the front garden.
We got in solar lights, a few more plants and some rocks. Looks wonderful!

tonightscaesar
Part of tonight’s dinner came straight from the garden. It was sooo good.

febbabyprog50

Here is the current progress on Zoe’s February Baby Sweater. I am loving it. I think I have enough leftover yarn in the Dream in Color Classy that I made my February Lady Sweater in, to make Zoe a matching one. I love this pattern so much, that I think I will make a 2nd one. Seems like most people who used this yarn made it in 1 skeins or just over one skein of DIC Classy, and I have one full skein plus maybe 40% of another skein, as I only used just over 3 and a half for my Feb Lady Sweater. Perfect. Matching sweaters. I like.

I forgot to write that I started Pre-natal Aqua yesterday at my local pool. I loved it. I feel so good in the water. I heard a rumour yesterday that they’re closing down the pool for the fall session to do renovations. This disappoints me majorly because I would have wanted to keep doing pre-natal aqua until the end of the year when I give birth and not just for the summer session. Maybe I can find a class elsewhere. Also – I wonder what will happen with Sean & Mack’s swim lessons. Will those get cancelled for the fall session as well or are they only renovating the large pool and not the baby pool? Maybe there is some free time they can do the pre-natal aqua in the baby pool in the back (by baby I mean smaller pool – not a tiny pool that a baby can stand in). I could have sworn that the “baby” pool in the back was built recently (last couple of years) so I don’t know why they’d need to renovate it.

  fuschiaflower
Some lovely new flowers in our front yard are blooming.

knitbypark

This afternoon after picking up the kids from daycare on my way home from work, I took the kids to the park. I even got some knitting done on Zoe’s February Baby Sweater.

climbingmonkey
Not only do I have 1 monkey, I now have 2.

mackiesandbox seansitslide
tightropewalk

We were in the park and Sean says to me "Look mommy, I an tight rope walk" (balancing himself on the ledge of the sandbox). So I asked him, "where did you learn the word tight rope walk" and he responded "Wii". Ahh, how technology has an impact on our kids.

I forgot to mention that I finished the book I was reading: SAHM I am by Meredith Efken. While I enjoyed only the stay-at-home mom parts of this book. It was mainly way too religious for me. There was bible talk, and pastor's wives, and church stuff, and while I'm Jewish, but non-practicing, and open to other religions, I found it was a bit too much for me. I would not read this book again, and I'm not really sure I recommend it to anyone. I don’t know why I persisted to finish it – but for some reason I wanted to. Hey if anyone wants to read it – I’ll gladly pass it on (let me know). I did start a new book, The Penny Pincher’s Club by Sarah Strohmeyer. Hopefully it’ll be a lot better than what I just finished reading and it won’t take me as long as the last book did.

Mack is 106 weeks old today.

kidsjamiebbq

After a little sleep in, we went to our work BBQ bash that we were having in town.

4ofusbbq

Jamie and I own a franchise in the family business, so we got to bring our kids along too.

seancutie

Sean was a cutie and real sportive today!

cadhat

My Canada Day spirit in my silly hat.

mackbball

Mack was all about baseball today.

seanvolley

Sean helped daddy’s volleyball team.
(He’s actually about to hit a ball in the picture!)

mrosegang

The team Jamie played on (he’s in the Habs shirt). The 3 guys in white are employees from our franchise. The guy in the red shirt works at head office and is Jamie’s golf buddy.

groupshot

Group shot of everyone who was there today.
Not every store had representation at the BBQ.
Those who could make it came out.
I think we were about 60 people.

maanddadbbq

My mom & dad – the hosts.
(Love my dad’s apron? I brought it back from Italy for him).

consumption

By the end of the day, there was one hot dog left.

We had a good time.

snoozeincar

So much so, the kids were zonked on the way home.

fastazleep

Ahhhh, silence.

myhick

When we got home, after a quick nap, the boys helped me in the yard.
I did some weeding in the garden, Sean tired weeding in the grass.

seanmyhick

Sean looks like he should be working on a farm!

greenpeps

Got some green peppers growing in the garden finally!

redcherriez

And some cherry tomatoes are finally turning red!

redtoma

We picked our first 2 red tomatoes, and made a cucumber/tomato salad for dinner tonight. Oh, it was delicious. We even added in some fresh shallots from the garden. YUM!

Hope you all had a wonderful Canada Day however you celebrated! Happy 143rd Canada!

Those of you whom have won prizes, some of them I will be issuing out, and some I will be sending your names to the designers to send out your prizes. Stay tuned! And thanks again for playing!
