Hubby and I got to go out last night for a friends birthday. My parents took the kids for dinner, and we had a nice evening out. It was nice to get dressed up in non-mommy clothes, and wear my nice pink boots and wear make-up (which apparently is so natural you can barely see it in this photo). We had good laughs with new people (we only knew the birthday boy and his girlfriend). Once we picked up the kids, and got them to bed, about an hour later, I started to feel ill. At first I thought it was the wine, but Jamie reminded me that I really didn't drink that much, which I thought to begin with. Let's just say, I'll spare you the details, I definitely had food poisoning. I was the only one to eat this dish at the restaurant (and we were the only table at the restaurant). I have never eaten there before, and while we thought maybe we'd go back again sometime while we were actually still there, I don't think we'll ever be going back there again. And I'm darn glad it's not gastro, that's 10x worse than food poisoning, let me tell you!

The laundry it never ends. Yep, everything in the above photo is dirty laundry. I figure there is at least 15 loads there. While I love my front loading machines, they are tiny and don't hold as much as my old machines did.
12:45pm - I had load 1 in the dryer and load 2 in the washing machine. It's never going to end.
2:01 pm - I had load number 2 in the dryer, load number 3 in the washing machine & dishwasher is currently doing load number 1. One kid is napping (Mack), and the other is sick but not acting it...! (Sean)
5:13 pm - I was stuck with a napping Sean on me for about 2.5 hours so load number 2 needs to be re-heated in the dryer, and load 3 is waiting to go into the dryer. I feel like I'll be doing laundry into 2010...!
6:12 pm - I was making some progress. Load 3 in the dryer and load 4 in the washing machine. Though, no folding has been done yet.
I am a procrastinator when it comes to folding the laundry. I resolved to fix this in 2010.
Will you be calling it two thousand and ten or twenty-ten? I haven't figured out what I will be calling it yet, but twenty-ten sounds a lot easier to say.
Sean woke up at 5 am this morning throwing up. He was sick all morning. Tried giving him water & crackers mid-morning, he couldn't hold it down for 5 minutes. He said by lunch he was feeling better, so after giving him Pedialyte every 3o minutes for a while and he kept that down, I gave him some toast and plain whole wheat spaghetti with nothing on it, because that is what I was eating, and he wanted some too. He did keep it down. So far, so good, he was better the rest of the day. I really hope that Mack doesn't catch whatever it was.
Mid-afternoon I started to feel horrible. Cold. Nauseas. I couldn't eat dinner. I couldn't eat anything the rest of the evening. Jamie and I just hung out this evening at home, and I was on the couch totally out of it. I couldn't even knit a stitch. That's how ill I felt. I really hope this passes as I need to go to work tomorrow since I didn't go in today. I didn't go in at all last week because of our guests at our house, so I need to get in tomorrow. My mom has agreed that if Sean doesn't become sick again, she'll watch the two of them tomorrow at our house for a few hours. At least I'll be able to get some work done then.
I really couldn't do any more laundry or much of anything tonight. I couldn't even really focus on the episodes of Gene Simmons: Family Jewels that we did watch tonight. I think I will hit the pillow early tonight and pray I am no longer ill tomorrow. It was just one of those days. It sucks being sick and having a sick child at home as well. I really hope there isn't something going around.
Today I kept Mack home from daycare. He still had fever in the middle of the night when he woke, and still a little bit when he woke up for the day. Just in case, I kept him home. Does this look like a sick kid to you though?
We made a zucchini bread this afternoon. This bread/cake didn't last very long. It was gone shortly after Jamie got home from work. It wasn't that large to begin with - but very tasty.
Sean says he wants to be a doctor when he grows up. And a hockey player. Here he is wearing some doctor tools and has his box of hockey cards. He's on a goalie fix right now, says he wants to be a goalie when he grows up.
Tonight I won a free 2L bottle of Fanta. I don't think they make diet drinks, but it's still fun to win! Apparently my coupon for the bottle will arrive in the mail. It actually told me on my bag of popcorn that I won, and I had to go enter my code into a website. Very interesting! I also won the other day a music download, but I forgot to save the bag. The top prize is 10,000$ cash. Yeah, I'd like to win that one!? That would be awesome.
It was nice to stay in my pj's all day long today. Didn't leave the house. I managed to get some of my bag packed for Rhinebeck. I cannot wait to go! Only 2 more sleeps. I really hope that the boys don't freak out that I am leaving for that long. It'll be the longest time we've ever been apart. I know I am going to miss my boys like crazy.

Medication
I started medication last night. I’ve got bronchitis. It started as a bad cold, over the weekend. It got worse and then a bit better, but then I caught a cough. I’ve seen better days. These 6 pills are darn expensive too – but they’re already making me feel better, so that’s all that matters. As a mother of 3, I don’t have time to be sick.

Holy moly I feel like crap today. I hate being sick. Dang cold. I hate winter. I only get sick like this in the winter (of course). This morning my mom came to watch the boys in the morning so that I could run an errand. I probably shouldn't have left the house. But I needed some groceries, as there was nothing in the house for dinner tonight, if I didn't go out. (Well, I could have put something together, from frozen, but that wasn't the plan for today).
Sean's cough is getting better. Mack's coughing a bit though now too. (Dang!) We skipped Mack's class at the Y today because Sean is home from daycare sick. I also didn't go to playgroup today, and I really am upset that I didn't get to go today. It was at one of my friend's houses today, and I really wanted to go. Though, I shouldn't expose other kids to our germs, and Sean was home from daycare. Oh well, next week.
My nose officially looks like Rudolph the red nose reindeer... and it's raw and it's sore and it hurts. Oh, once agian, I really hate this time of the year. I want to fast forward to not being sick anymore. I should buy a share in kleenex - that's how many I'm going through! Chasing after Sean with kleenex too is fun. He hates having his nose wiped... and Mack is following in the same footsteps. Hates it too. But probably can breathe a lot better after I clean theris noses, so I'm trying to explain that to at least Sean, so that he won't complain in the future.
This afternoon my sister came for a bit, to watch the boys (well, watch the house as the boys were both sleeping) so that I could run one more errand. Again, I shouldn't have left the house, but I had to go to the Pharmacy. Thank you Amy for coming to watch the boys this afternoon. (She got to knit and watch tv at my house!)
This evening Sean took interest in the potty. He asks to use it, but then just sits on it. I'm not sure if he just thinks it's a toy, or if he actually realizes it's to "go" in. Because lately, whenever he's on it, he doesn't actually go to the bathroom. Oh well, we're trying, and he's asking, so we'll see where that takes us. I just think it's too cute that he asks for the newspaper to read while on the potty. Funny boy.
Mack is now taking interest in my camera and I'm going to have to be careful with my lens! this picture was taken just before he swatted his hand on my camera! Daring little boy!
Tonight we decided to turn off the Habs game while it was in the middle of the game, we ended up getting slaughtered by Calagary 6-2. I don't know what happened tonight, but I'm ashamed of the team tonight. Really. 6-2. WHAT THE HECK!!! It was nasty to watch. We did watch Heroes after the boys went to bed, and we're going to keep tonight's episode of 24 for the next chill night we have together.
Tomorrow I've got a busy day, but I think I'm going to skip Mack's 9 am swim class, because of my cold. It's going away, but it's still there and I also don't want Mack to get worse sick than he already is. It's too bad he's missing another swim lesson, but hey, I'd rather him get rid of his cough, and I don't want being almost na.ked in my bathing suit in cold water to make my cold worse. If I'm feeling better by Wednesday, I'll go to my aqua class, but that's if my cold is better.
Alright, I should get a good night's sleep. Well, try anyhow. I can't really breathe through my nose, so sleeping is rather difficult when you can't breathe and you need to keep blowing your dripping nose. Not fun!

We all pretty much stayed in today, except Jamie, who had to go to work for a bit. Because I wasn't feeling too hot today, my mother and father came for lunch and then my dad left and my mother stayed to hang out for a bit, and help me with the kids. Sean's still got a cough, that sounds worse than yesterday, and I've got a nasty cold/cough. Mack's so far ok.
He certainly had motivation to try to get out of the thing. He was put into it properly, and then went under the bar of toys, and ended up like this. Still strapped in.... no where to go. But he certainly tried. He had us laughing for a bit. Not at him, of course, with him! He was all smiles trying to figure out how to escape! He wasn't too sure what was holding him back.
But when he did get out of his chair, he crawled... backwards. Yep... backwards under the ottoman. Funny boy, likes to crawl backwards under things. Crawling forward? Naw.... not yet.
This afternoon both boys gave me a nice peaceful afternoon, so I sat on the couch and knit and caught up on some of my tv shows from this week. Jamie got home just before dinner time, and we had a nice family dinner together, and then he went off to play hockey and I sat on the couch and did some more knitting and some more tv watching. I really wasn't feeling too well today/tonight, so that seemed like a good plan. Just getting some rest. Tomorrow, providing I'm feeling better, I'm going to be seeing my best-friend-since-kindergarten, and I am totally looking forward to that. She's in town for 4 days and I'm pretty much the only person she's seeing while out here, besides family (to my knowledge anyhow). I just need to wait for her call so that I can go pick her (and her husband - whom I've not met yet) at the train station.
Today I'm Loving:
- This Scrabble keyboard that someone made. (Thanks for the link Ariella!)
- These scrabble coasters - neat idea!
- These dryer balls which I'm totally thinking of making.
Don't forget to snatch your spot in my March Sock Club. Only a few spots left!

Mack is sick. He's been hacking up a lung since last wednesday, each day getting worse. His doctor is on vacation, and his 6 month check up is not until next Wednesday. I spent two hours today at the clinic near my house t with Mack after going there and booking an appointment (which I didn't know I could do), and thank heavens I was able to see a doctor that I knew. (Sean took music classes with his son back in the winter/spring earlier on this year). I had gonei n the morning to the clinic and was given a 1:40pm appointment time. It was about 11:30 when I left, so I went home for a bit, and then back again. Mack was seen in good time, not that long of a wait, and a resident doing a stage saw him first. She diagnosed that it was a cough/cold that was virul, and the best thing was for him to have an inhaler. So, she did a test to see if it helped, and if so, he'd be going home with a prescription for an inhaler and the inhaler dispencer and I'd have to fill it at the pharmacy. After being seen by the doctor, and confirming this was a good idea, the test began. We gave him 2 doses of the inhaler. We had to wait 15 minutes in the waiting room, to see if it did an improvement. The 15 minute wait turned out to be like 25 minutes or so, because she was seeing another patient while we were waiting, not to waste time. I was told to try to feed him, but after making him a bottle, he wasn't interested, as he was more interested in watching all the kids running around the waiting room, and cooing at them. We went back in to get checked, and it kind of improved a bit, so she decided to try one more dose, and we'd have to wait another 15 minutes to be seen. This time, the wait was longer than the last "15 minute" wait. That's fine, I don't care. After being seen again, it proved that it helped, and Mack was breathing easier, and better. So on my way home I filled the prescription for the inhaler, and the Aerochamber, and I'll have to give it to him every 4-6 hours while he's awake for about 5-7 days. If he's not better in a week, to bring him back. Poor kid. I just want him to feel better. He doesn't like the Aerochamber though, he fights it when it's over his mouth/nose.
Sean had 2 real phone convos with my mom today (and one the yesterday with my father-in-law). He's never had a phone conversation before. He's taken the phone before and listened, but never really spoken. Today's two conversations went like this: (I only heard Sean's side)
Sean: Hallo.
My mom spoke.
Sean: Happy. (Meaning Happy Birthday).
My mom spoke.
Sean: Ok, bye.
And then later this afternoon he called her back.
Sean: Hallo.
My mom spoke.
Sean: Happy happy.
My mom asked him a question.
Sean: Yeah.
My mom asked him another question.
Sean: Yeah.
My mom asked him yet another question.
Sean: Ok.
My mom spoke.
Sean: Ok, bah bye.
It was cute. I've never seen him talk on the phone before.
It's my mom's birthday today, happy birthday mom. I'm glad Sean was able to call her and wish her a happy birthday.
This evening we went for dinner to celebrate December birthdays and we had a good time. Sean likes this new Elmo music player that came with one of his birthday presents. He was very busy changing discs during dinner.
And Mack got to sport his My First Chanukah Bib. It's a little big on him (Sean was almost a year old when he got to sport it last year).
And Mack is just too cute in his snow suit. I must take a picture with a better angle of it, it's just the cutest thing on him.
Mack is such a big boy in the high chair! It's his first time sitting in it.
Oh my, he's growing up too fast.
We went back to my parents house to have cake & give presents for birthdays/chanukah. The boys got spoiled rotten from everyone. We finally gave my mom the dog we got her from Amelia Makes Art. Even Bosco liked the replica of himself. Here's the dog in detail:

I'm glad my mother liked it! We had to order it MONTHS ago (processing time on these is about 16 weeks), and we've had it here for 2 months already, (we ordered it back in the late spring to make sure that we'd get it on time). I'd seen her stuff on Martha Stewart and thought it would make a great and unique gift for my mother! It did indeed.
I received today in the mail, Wollmeise in Am Kalten Polar, from a swap I did on Ravelry. I love the colors, which are hard to see in this photo, but it's blues & purples.

Today was a sick day. We all stayed in, (except for Jamie, he went to work) but the rest of us stayed in our pj's all day. I chased after Sean with a kleenex box today. Not sure where it's all coming from, but he was leaking from the nose all day. Poor guy. (But other than that he was in great spirits - of course - terrorizing the house!)
Mack had a good time in the exercauser today. We keep this one in the kitchen (for when we're eating dinner or I'm cooking/baking). It barely fits through the kitchen door, so I'm glad to have it as an extra one so I don't have to move it from room to room.
Today we worked on patience. And working on sitting at one activity for more than 30 seconds. In the morning we built with the mega blocks, and made who knows what. Only Sean in his imaginations knows what we built! LOL. We had fun though. That activity surprisingly lasted a long time. About 20-25 minutes before he got frustrated and didn't want to build anymore. Then, after his nap, we worked on this puzzle above. He LOVED doing it over and over again. I'm glad. I got hime a few more Melissa & Doug puzzles for his birthday, which is next Sunday, but he'll get them beforehand at his birthday party. (Or maybe I'll keep them for Xmas? Which is before his birthday anyhow).
This evening we sat on the couch and watched some TV (Heroes & Chuck was on) and luckily both boys went to bed at the same time. A mistake we had made with Sean, only putting him to his crib to sleep after he was fast asleep already (falling asleep in our arms pretty much) and I wasn't doing that with Mack. So, so far, we've been able to put him to sleep without being asleep - either tired, really tired or even awake, and he's been falling asleep. Mack has a Dream Screen in his room, which he loves. I put it on for him at night.
Going to go back to knitting on the couch.

So, so far, we've been able to put him to sleep without being asleep - either tired, really tired or even awake, and he's been falling asleep. Mack has a Dream Screen in his room, which he loves. I put it on for him at night.Going to go back to knitting on the couch.
