newspoons
Somehow I’ve been losing wooden spoons lately, and I’m always looking for when when baking/cooking. I decided to get some new ones today. I’ve been slowly getting my cooking mojo back. I went through a slump during the winter, but I’m getting back into my old grove.

newhaircut
I got a trim today. I went to go visit my friend Daniele who does my hair. Daniele has a detached garage that she converted into a mini salon at her house. She’s super cheap & I love catching up with her when I go. She scolded me for my last haircut being last May!  No more split ends. Hair feels healthy & that’ll help it grow faster. I promised her I wouldn’t let it go another year before my next haircut (rather, trim).

mackleg

The boys were being silly this evening. Mack was drumming on the garbage can in the kitchen while I was preparing dinner.
He though he was funny by lifting his leg in the air and drumming. He had his left behind him as well, doing some ballet position. I only caught him with his leg to the side. I am not sure where he learned this, but it was too funny.

macklegair

Simple amusement though. A garbage can becomes a drum. I love the imagination of children.

I watched the Habs play a crazy game tonight. We won in overtime against Edmonton 5-4. It was really a close game. One of those that you’re sitting on the edge of your seat about to bite off your nails. Jamie had an event this evening that he organized with some of his hockey card collecting buddies. (Hey, I knit, so that’s his thing, which I encourage). It was definitely weird watching the Habs game myself, usually we watch it together and cheer on the Habs.

I’ve been working on La Novia, however it’s a long knit this one. (Because of the intricate stitch pattern). I’ve taken a small break from Sean’s sweater until I can figure out how to properly design the logo for the front of the sweater. I’ll work on that this weekend.

march ten :: 90 weeks old

89wksoldM

Mack is 90 weeks old today.
I was stuck home today as the plumber came to fix the plumbing stack in the attic, so I worked on some crochet and knitting while he was doing the work. I took a relaxing afternoon. Much deserved.
zeusincup

Zeus was being very silly trying to drink from a glass. It was too cute.
lovehair

I decided today that I need a trim. My hair’s getting long, and I’m actually growing it out, but it grows faster when trimmed, so I booked an appointment for tomorrow.

This evening I went out for a bit, and worked on sketching out the Team Canada Logo for the front of Sean’s hockey sweater. I’m having serious problems with getting it the way I want it – but I put it away to not frustrate me any further. It’s best to not work on something while you’re frustrated. I then pulled out my La Novia, and worked on that for a bit. It’s a very interesting lace pattern that takes a lot of concentration on it. I definitely had bit too much sugar tonight, as I’m currently on a sugar high. Note to self, don’t do that again, especially if you need to be up early in the morning.

Actor Corey Haim died early this morning of a drug overdose. This doesn’t surprise me one bit, he’s been battling with drugs for a while now. I read somewhere that it was an “accidental” overdose. Uhm, sure. I wasn’t really ever a huge fan of his.

I’ve been reading before bed lately, and making my way through Holly’s Inbox. I’m enjoying it. Definitely an easy read.

march nine

Last night Mack got up crying at 10:30pm. I tried putting him back to bed. He wanted nothing to do with his bed. So I took him into my bed (in the dark) and cuddled him. I guess I must have passed out before him. Almost an hour later Jamie came up to go to bed and I was out cold. He said he walked into the room and it was pitch black since he turned off the hallway light. He said he didn’t even realize that Mack was in our bed until he heard “Tv, On?”. He turned on his night table light and saw Mack sitting up in our bed. The little bugger. It wasn’t time to watch tv. It was bed time! Anyhow, I had to give him some more milk in order to get him back to sleep. I’m hoping this isn’t something that is going to happen every night, but so far so good with the milk in a sippy cup.

policehorse
This morning Mackenzie had swimming lessons. On his way to school after swimming, I saw 2 police on horses. I was shocked. In my area? Really? Yep. (I learned later that they were on loan from the Town of Mount Royal). Anyhow, I witnessed one of the horses do his business all over the street that the daycare that my children go to is on. Anyhow, I witnessed them just trot away after the horse was done his business. This made me FURIOUS. Hey, if we have to pick up after our dogs (not that I have one or anything) but they should have to pick up after their horses… c’mon! Anyhow, I wasn’t sure what to do, and you can’t really call the police on the police, can you? So, instead I called Public Security. I was transferred to someone, who wasn’t at his desk (or on the other line) so I left a message. My concern was, that where the horse did his business, was in a school zone (my old elementary school) and cars were swerving into the other lane to not drive through the horse business. This wasn’t good. (At 5:30 pm after I was done work and picked up the kids from daycare, it had been cleaned up. Was I the only one who complained? Did other people complain? Though, I feel better for making the call).

policecarhorse

I did wonder where the horses came from, and was curious as to where they were stored or how they got to my suburb, where I don’t know of a single stable around. When I left to work after picking up my lunch at home after dropping off Mack at daycare from his swim class, I saw this parked around the corner from my house. A police pick-up truck with the horse carriage hitched on the back. (Horse carriage? Is that what it’s called?)

The funny part of all this is that the horses were trotting in the parking lot of Sean’s daycare & Sean’s classroom is in front of the school with a huge door to the outside in it. (Mack’s classroom faces the front too, but there is no accessible door to the outside (there is one I think, but the play area is in front of it – I think) and the windows are painted half way up with a zoo theme so that the children can’t see their parents leave (as they’re the baby class and they tend to cry if they’re new to the daycare). Anyhow, one of Sean’s teachers saw the horse right outside their classroom and opened the door (it’s not the main door to the daycare, it’s more of an emergency type door). The horse, named Blackjack actually came half way into Sean’s class. He got to meet the police horse. I learned this when I came to pick up the kids from school today. I was even shown pictures. I asked if one of them that I liked could be emailed to me- but so far I haven’t received it yet. We’ll see if I do – I’ll show you if I get it. There is one picture of the class around the horse. When I told Sean’s teachers that I called public security on these horses because one of the horses did his business all over the street, I had his teachers laughing hysterically.

Anyhow… that was the excitement for today.

Yarnhog has created a gorgeous craft room. I’m super jealous! One day when all my children have moved out of the house, I plan to turn one of their rooms into a craft room. Too bad that won’t be at least for another 16-20 years+. I can’t complain though, I do have a nice sized office and I do have a yarn room in the basement. Maybe if I de-clutter my office I’ll have more room to craft. Hmm, that may not be a bad idea.

lanovia2

Here is the current progress on my La Novia. I love how it’s knitting up.

Tonight I had the Guild Meeting. We had a sock challenge tonight. We had 3 categories that we could enter in, and I entered 3 socks of my own designs. I entered in Mathematical Equation, Grape Vines & Massie. While I didn’t win anything (the judge tonight was none other than Kate Gilbert herself), my cousin Jenn won 2 prizes. (I guess I should take a hint? Just kidding). I worked on La Novia and chatted with some of the members.

march eight :: 166 weeks old

166wwksS

Sean is 166 weeks old today!

poollessons

Sean had swimming lessons this morning. He loves it. He’s getting very courageous in the water.

seanboardswim

Only one of the sisters went into the water today, the other sister wasn’t feeling well. At the level that Sean is in now, it’s non-parented so there is only 3 students per class. I like this because a) I don’t have to go into the water anymore, and b) he gets more attention from the teacher. The previous level he was in, I was in the water with him and there was like 10-12 toddlers in the class. You were lucky if you got the teacher’s attention. We played games and stuff, but there was no learning how to swim involved, really.

carnationbin

Today is International Women’s Day. Sean & Mack’s daycare teachers had a flower to give to every mom. How nice is that?

carnationred

Sean picked out this red carnation for me. It was very sweet of him.

crayons
Today in the car on the way to daycare from his swimming class, Sean asked to color in the car. I ironically had crayons in the car from the loot bag from the birthday party yesterday. He made a nice drawing for Papa, who celebrates his birthday today. Happy Birthday Dad!

cakedup

I finally got the courage to wind the ball of yarn and picked out a project for it. I cast on last night for La Novia.

lanovia

I’m loving it so far, but it’s quite the lace pattern. There’s lace on EVERY row, even on the purl rows!

lanovia1

It’s coming along really nicely, though it’s not something I can knit and concentrate on something else at the same time (talking with friends, watching tv as I will mess up the rows if I multi task while working on this). I like the challenge!

iheartknitneed

I’m using some pretty neat bamboo knitting needles for this project. They actually say "I love knitting” on them! How cool is that?

robjam

This evening we went out for dinner for my father’s birthday, which is actually today. I think I mentioned that before.

dadmackie

   Happy Birthday Dad!

mackiphone

Mack was given my dad’s iphone to play with, and was playing around with the slider to open the phone. If you have an iphone or ipod touch, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Anyhow, every time he managed to open the phone into the main screen, he got so super excited that he did that all by himself. It was just too cute.

Dinner was lovely, and the portions were so huge that I have lunch for tomorrow. I’m working in the offices tomorrow, so that’s perfect because now I don’t have to think about lunch for tomorrow.

Today we finally got Mack weaned off bottles! He now takes his milk in a sippy cup. This is awesome. He’s been taking his milk at naptime at daycare in a sippy cup, so we felt it was time to get him switched over at home onto only sippy cups. He has been drinking water and watered down juice in a sippy cup for months at home… but the milk had to be in a bottle. (He’s on 3.25% milk until his 2nd birthday this June). I am so happy & relieved that it was an easy transition. Sean also switched to a sippy cup only around 21-22 months old. Mack will be 21 months old on St-Patrick’s Day next week. One more thing can now be checked off my to-do list.

Tonight was registration for swimming lessons for the spring session. Got to love online registration, no line-ups, no wait time, making sure you’re guaranteed to get a spot before people who actually stood in line handed in their “top 3 choices for classes” (in case they don’t get into their first choice). I got both boys into the class that I wanted them in, which is the exact same time slot as they are in now. Beautiful. I love routine. Keeps things consistent. Sean has 9 weeks of classes while Mack has 11 because there are 2 Mondays that are holidays in the next 11 weeks (Easter Monday & Victoria Day).

chillcouch

I love Sunday mornings.
Cuddling with my boys, reading books.

jparty
This afternoon we had a 3 year olds birthday party. One of Sean’s classmates.

jamieandsean

I couldn’t even get a picture of the birthday boy with Sean
without some distraction in the picture.
3 year old boys just don’t stay still.

jamiemackparty

We had a good time, got to see some other parents that we don’t get to see that often. We made a dinner date with another couple that we like, and I can’t wait to see them. It was a really nice afternoon.

zeuslaundry

I came home to find our cat snuggled in the back of our closet in a laundry basket. It was so cute. I didn’t want to disturb him, so I waited to do the laundry for when he got out of the laundry basket.

I started a new project tonight, I couldn’t resist. I will show you the project tomorrow. We watched the pathetic Habs game tonight which ended up in a win. It was so bad that I can’t even believe we won. We currently stand in 7th place in the Eastern Conference, and we have to keep winning to make sure we’re guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. We have 15 games left this season. And we’re only 1 point above 8th position. We’re 2 points behind 6th. We need wins. I still have faith.

I’ve also been reading a lot more lately. I don’t want reading to be one of those things I used to do because I love to read. I’m getting further along in the book I’m currently reading, and am curious to see how it ends. I’m about 35% into the book.

loveyarn

Ok, so that handpainted skein… that I still haven’t decided what to do with…

squishyarn

I’m too afraid to wind it into a cake. Has that ever happened to you with a skein of yarn?
You’re just too afraid to use it? My precious…!

backofsweater

Sean’s Sweater is coming along fabulously!
The back is done. I’m not 100% loving color work, but it’s the only way to do a garment like this.
I have the front to do, then the 2 sleeves. I’m a little frustrated with the design on the front.
It’s super hard to sketch out on graph paper the Team Canada logo. I hope I get it right.

chocolatehands

I had some good friends over tonight. Since there was chocolate involved, there were some dirty fingers & chocolate mouths.

chocolatetongue
There seems we have a tradition now with these gatherings. Sangria! I’ve fallen hard for Sangria. Who knew! It’s so tasty. It’s bad though, it’s addictive and well, it’s so good, you forget there’s alcohol in it. I had a really good evening tonight, got some help from my friends with some neck shaping, because I wasn’t sure on a few things, and it’s working out perfectly. I can’t wait to give Sean his new sweater. I hope to have it done soon. I always feel better after a girl’s night with friends. I am also lucky that Jamie wanted a self-night to play video games tonight and didn’t mind me having some people over to stitch ‘n bitch over dessert.

I’m starting to feel better about things lately. This de-cluttering has been fantastic. I’ve also been using the computer less. I’ve been trying to be better with procrastination, I suffer from that. I keep saying that things can always get done tomorrow, but sometimes tomorrow is just too late. I need to get on top of things now… today.

march five

33done

Sean’s sweater is coming along very nicely. I am already at the top of the motif. I was going to do a “03” on the back, but according to my husband no jerseys in the NHL have 0 in front of the number. So if it’s 3, it’s 3, not 03. I thought the jersey looked a little empty with just one number in the middle, so I changed it to have two number 3’s. Sean only picked this number because that’s his age. I’m doing his sweater in size 3-4T so he can still wear it for a while. This is actually knitting up a lot faster than I thought it would be. So because of that, I’ve been thinking about what’s next.

What’s next you ask? Well, my skein of Vvs Painted Yarn that I have one skein of, with a total of 260 yards. It’s DK weight. So I’ve been looking for one skein DK weight projects. I’ve got a few that I could use DK for, but they’d look better in a solid colorway, not a hand painted multi colored one. This skein has been marinating in my stash for 4 years now (since 2006). Time to use it! Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:

- Porom (hat), DK weight, 180 - 200 yards.
- Everglade (hat), DK weight, 260 yards
- 198 yards of Heaven (shawl), Aran Weight, 198 - 220 yards
- La Novia (scarf), DK Weight, 240 - 250 yards

Though, if you have a better idea of what you think I should use this skein for, please share your thoughts.

Mack’s started saying the word “NO” lately. Overnight’s he’s transformed from my baby to this toddler who has opinions & thoughts. I can’t believe how fast he’s growing. He’ll be 2 before I know it. June will be here before I know it. Time is flying way too fast. I also love that he can count to 3. He’s really not a baby anymore and that makes me very sad.

Wow, it’s been a busy week. And I mean busy. Constant on the go. This to do, that to do, this to take care of, juggling this, juggling that. Being a mom of not one but 2 children is a 24 hour job. I love it, even if it means worrying about them 24 hours a day, even when I’m sleeping. Most nights, I feel like I’m sleeping with 1 eye open, just in case something happens. This week really flew by super quickly. I guess time flies when you’re having fun. The last few days have been very cleansing. Thank you all for all your support on helping me realize that I really shouldn’t care what other people think. (And this is not an insecurity issue, because I’m 150% secure & confident with who I am, it’s more of a pleasing other people situation). I’m done with always saying Yes to people. Sometimes No has to do, whether the other person asking for whatever it is they are asking for, likes to hear it or not. It could even be for the smallest, silliest little thing. I am starting to think of my household first, in as much of a non-selfish way as possible. I really need to make a healthy environment for myself (husband included) & my children, and rid of all negativity & bad vibes. It’s much better to live in a happier place. I’ve also stepped back from the computer a bit, apparently I use it too much. When you overhear your husband asking your son “Where’s mommy?” and your son responds “In her office at her computer” you know it’s time to step back and start spending more time away from the thing. I won’t stop blogging… blogging is my journal, and I’ve been journaling since the 6th grade. (I still have all my old paper & pen journals in storage). Blogging is my digital journaling instead of paper & pen. I’m just going to stop spending too much time in front of my computer. I’ve also deleted a whole bunch of blogs off my bloglines. Honestly, with 2 kids and work, I just don’t have the time to read that many blogs anymore. There were a ton that weren’t inspiring anymore, so I cleaned up the list. I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning, and it’s really good mentally. It’s like I read in “Throw out Fifty Things” last year, it’s very important to get rid of mental clutter in your life. There’s both physical & mental. And to de-clutter them both is a very good decision.

I’m excited for a jam packed weekend! Birthday parties & time with friends. The next few weeks are busy ones, but that’s always the case in the spring. I’ve already pulled out my spring jacket & I’ve been wearing shoes instead of boots. I was longing badly for this time. I think it’s *almost* time to put away my boots. I’ll keep them out just in case, but I don’t plan to use them, unless I really really have to.

Ahhh, breathe in… breathe out…

seanpushingmack

I totally forgot these were on my camera from yesterday. When we went to the appointment for Mack’s flu shot Sean wanted to push the stroller. Usually I’d let Mack walk, but I didn’t know how long we’d be waiting for them to call us at the clinic and I really didn’t want to have to chase 2 kids around the waiting room. I kept Mack in the stroller reading a book & having a snack while we waited for the appointment.

seanpushmack

Sean was such a good helper pushing his brother.

sweater33start

Here is the progress as of earlier today on Sean’s Sweater.
I’ve made HUGE progress on it since.
That calls for a new photo for you tomorrow.
Sean is going to love this.
I just know it.
Mack will probably want one too, so I’m making notes.

loungingoncouch

Sean was so cute chillin’ out before bedtime tonight. He had brought up his Thomas the Train couch into my bedroom from the den a few days ago and finally decided to use it. Nothing better than kicking your feet up on your own couch and watching some TV before bed. That’s the life…!

bigboite4

I found some really comfortable socks. They’re all I wear now. I got the crew socks though, not these above. I couldn’t find a stock image of the crew ones. (Like anklets). I don’t like tall socks unless they’re hand knit (weird, I know). What is awesome is that a portion of the sales of the purchase of the socks will be donated by B2 Fashions to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada. I love these socks, they’re so smooth on your feet. I like feeling comfort when wearing socks. I have them all mainly in black but I picked up one pack that had 1 white, 1 black & 1 grey pair in it. I really needed to replace the socks that I had, because they were all started to get holes.

I had the luxury today to take a 45 minute bubble bath. For the first part of my bath, I let the water run until the tub was full, (it’s amazing how long it took to completely fill that tub) so that I could adjust the water to keep it warm. I read some more in the book I am currently reading. I’m about 200 pages in now (out of almost 700 pages). I’m enjoying it. Nothing like good chick lit. After the bath, I still wasn’t feeling 100%, so I set my alarm and took an almost hour nap. I felt so much better after that. I wish I could have napped longer, but I had to go get the kids from daycare. I am really glad I took that nap though. I’m also grateful that I had the luxury to do so today.

march three :: 89 weeks old

88wksM

Mack is 89 weeks old today.

seancolorbooks

I kept both kids home today from daycare. Mack had his 2nd dose of flu shot today, so I spent the day with both boys. It was really nice. We coloured and watched some tv, and ran some errands.

seancans

One of the errands was to return bottle cans to the grocery store. Each can is about .05¢, unless you put in a beer can, it’s a little bit more (we had one beer can in there, which someone drank & left at our house – we’re not huge beer drinkers). Sean had a field day putting in all the cans into the machine. It gives you a green light to enter them (like green for go) and a red light while it’s processing the can. Sean was excited playing the red light/green light game. I should remember this for next time. I swear, it’s an activity to keep him occupied. Good to remember. The basket height was tall enough for him to stay seated in the child section of the basket, and put the cans in. I would have broken my back if I had to hold him up for 12$ worth of cans at .05¢ a piece. (I’ve been having some back pains in my lower middle back for about 2 weeks now… trying to fix it and figure out where it started from). Some days are really painful to sit/drive. There was a day last week that I am not sure how I made it home from work. I was in that much pain.

mackseancart

After getting some groceries, dropping off some parcels at UPS for work and all that fun stuff, it was time to go home. The kids were getting restless, as they hadn’t napped today at all. Next time, mental note, do NOT schedule a vaccine or doctor’s appointment during Mack’s naptime. He didn’t nap today, and he’s usually a good napper, so this just threw him off completely. Cranky children are not fun at dinner time. Food gets thrown, not eaten. Thank heavens my house is getting cleaned tomorrow. It looks as though a tornado hit my house.

The roofer came by today to check things out. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with me roof. This is fantastic news. However, there is a ton of things that needs repairing in my attic, that the contractor didn’t even know about, so we’ll have to take care of that, and it looks like it will cost us a bit more than it would have if it were just the roof and the attic needing the repairs we were already aware about… but we need to take care of this as soon as possible. Apparently we’re losing a lot of heat and once this is fixed, we should definitely notice our heating bill to reduce drastically over the next year. The water in the attic which caused the mould (which is NOT anywhere as bad as we thought it was) is due to escaping heat and it forming into ice on our roof and something else about condensation. He explained it to me but with the 2 kids running around the house sitting on each other, I didn’t catch everything he was trying to explain to me. In any case, he wrote down names of guys in case I needed it if my contractor is unable to do any part of the work that we need done. We also discovered that the plumbing stack (for the plumbing for the entire house) should be vented outside, but whomever did work up there broke the stack and now it’s venting in our attic. (Which equals even more condensation). We’re going to be getting this all fixed. As soon as possible. There’s also a hole in the attic, which had insulation thrown over it (to hide it probably) and that hole in the floor of the attic looks right into our furnace room which is in the basement (4 floors below). Fun. This is also letting heat escape. The guy went up there and took a picture of what was in my furnace room, to show me that he can see right down there.

This evening I hung out with Jamie and worked on Sean’s sweater. It’s coming along nicely. It’s my first time working from a chart and it’s my own design, so that’s fun too. Though I’m not too fond of all the pencil that is rubbing off on my hand. I think I’m going to make a photocopy of the page just so I can mark it up how I want, and not have to worry about pencil smearing all over my hand. I usually write out everything from the chart, before I start to knit, but this time, I’m using the chart. I kind of like that though. It’s interesting, but I am able to keep my place. I’ll show you progress of the sweater tomorrow.

I have a book that I am looking for. If anyone has it and are done with it, can you please let me know, maybe we can work out a swap or something? Or I could just borrow it. It’s not available from my 2 local places I order from (Amazon.ca & Chapters.ca) and my local library doesn’t have it either.  The book title is:- The Go-To Girl by Louise Bagshawe.

This cleansing in my life is starting to make me feel a lot better about life. I’m starting to feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulder. It’s coming all together now, and I’m not sure why I didn’t wake up a long time ago. I think in order to really come full circle I’m going to cut out a lot of things that I’ve been doing as well, just to bring me back to a calm & peaceful place. All the running around I’ve been doing, has really caught up to me and has made me really exhausted. I need to take a step back & relax. Bring life back to a place where it was more simple. It’s only what’s best for my health.

march two

The roofer is coming tomorrow to see the roof and attic. Tomorrow I’ll have more answers on that. It seems that because of our slanted roof, it was super easy for snow to melt off of it, and we’ve been having a few days of mild weather.

I worked today in the office and it seemed as though the day passed by very quickly. Some days are slow and some days pass by very quickly.

This evening I went out with some friends and they made me realize I should come first. That I need to stop pleasing other people and please myself first (myself includes husband & kids). What kind of person are you? Do you take pleasure in pleasing others first before yourself? Do you care what other people think of you or do you not care at all what other people think? I’ve been always one who gives not expecting to receive anything back at all and I’ve started to not care what other people think of me. I feel like maybe my happiness is being compromised because of this. I’ve also realized that I need to cut a lot of stressful crap out of my life. I hope to be doing some major cleaning in my life. It’s just nice to know that there are people in my life who are on the same page that I am in life and who understand me for who I am. (And by same page, I mean both in thought and in path of life (married (or have been married), kids (though this is not a huge part of it, but it does help to have a few friends who are going through tor have gone through he same thing in life that you are), responsibilities, etc). I think these changes will only be good for my mental health. It will also give me more knitting time once I organize time management. I honestly think this will help with a lot more than I think. (Anxieties, Insomnia, that sort of thing).

While I was out this evening, I worked on Sean’s Sweater. So far, it’s coming out as planned.
It’s honestly going to be one heck of a sweater…
I can’t wait for Sean to see it!

I just got noticed that my hotmail sent folder is too full! I didn’t realize that it was backed up from 2007! I started deleting all the oldest emails first, and we’ll see how fast I can clean it up so that I don’t get this issue. I had no idea that they had such a restriction with the amount of sent messages they’d save. I guess it’s taken me 3 years + to find this out though. you know what though, it’s probably a good thing that I should clean out my sent folder. I don’t need any of the sent emails from that long ago anyhow or from today for that matter. For emails that are important to be kept, I would definitely take precautions to make sure that they do get kept.

march one :: 165 Weeks Old

165wksS
Sean is 165 weeks old today.

seandvdslibrary
We had Sean’s swimming class this morning, so we hit up the library afterwards. Sean borrowed 3 DVDs from the library. We found a new children’s show on DVD to try out. I’m honestly a tad tired of the same Caillou, Sesame Street, etc, episodes that we watch in our house, and that I hear in the car, as the kids have a DVD player set up in the back of the car in front of each of their seats.

Outside the library right next to where I parked the car, I saw this “art installation”. How cute is this? It brings me back to my childhood, when I used to play Monkeys in a Barrel with friends. Ah, the good old days.

When I picked up the boys from daycare today, it was a bit of a challenge. The were both really good today during the day (napping, eating, behaving, etc)… but when it comes to 5pm, and I have to get both of them dressed in boots, hats, gloves, jackets… I long for Spring when there’s none of the sort to deal with. I am fed up of boots & hats & jackets, and, and and…! By the time I have one kid dressed, and I’m working on getting the 2nd boy dressed, the first one is undressing himself. Or running around. Or this. Or that. It’s quite the challenge. Luckily I’m not the only mother dealing with this (or parent, as there are a few dads who come to pick up their kids from daycare too).

I cast on a new project today. Sean’s sweater. His team Canada Jersey Sweater. I’m making it up as I go, charting, and doing research as well. A sweater of the sort does not exist. So I have to create one. I’m making it in size 3-4T. This way, he can wear it now, and grow into it as well.

It’s going to have the white stripes on the bottom & on the sleeves, the logo & the word CANADA on the front. Like above. It’s going to have his name on the back, with the number 3 on it, as that’s the number he chose to have on it. I’m going to be the coolest mommy ever, for knitting him this sweater, and I know that he’ll wear it proud. (I mean, come on, he goes around telling people (strangers even… we’re working on that though – not talking to strangers) that his mommy knit him a dino hat… of course he’ll be even happier when this sweater is done… it’s hockey!!) I’ll keep you updated on my progress, that’s for sure. It’s going to be quite interesting designing this sweater, but I have faith that I can 150% do it. And it’s going to make one 3 year old very very very happy. To say the least…

I’ve been working again on a collaborative project with 3 other lovely ladies. Each month we’ll be giving you free desktop calendars. I hope you enjoy them and use them. If you do use one, please leave me a comment to let me know which one you liked best and set as your desktop. From left to right you can choose from the skyline, the tattoo girl, the yarn scene, or the Vancouver Olympic lights. Once you open the link of the one you like, just right click on the image and set it as your desktop wallpaper.

I’m so happy to be apart of this project.

For those of you collecting Pampers.ca points (or dot com), I have to more bonus codes worth 30 points each: GTGTEAMUSA2010 and GTGPLAY2USA2010. I tried looking to see if they had the same thing but for Canada, but nope… THat’s okay, I’ll be a traitor and take the points with the USA codes! Not even sure what I’m saving up for, but I’ll figure it out, I have a ton of points right now, and nothing yet to buy with them.
