09.19.10

caststartshell

Today we loaded up the kids in the car, early enough to get to our destination and eat lunch before we surprised the kids with a huge surprise! Jamie drove both ways today, so I had about 4 hours of knitting time in the car. I worked on Baby 3's Baby Shell, which I started last night. Making great progress today - will show you tomorrow. This really is a super fast knit.

mackpuckermouth

The boys were great in the car for the 2 hour drive. Mack seriously concentrated on the movie they were watching (Toy Story) and making his little pucker face. I love it.

seanmedennys

We got into Ottawa with plenty of time to stop for a sit down lunch. I wasn't interested in having any crap fast food for lunch, which is why we planned accordingly.

bballcups

The boys were super excited to have gotten their drinks in a very cool baseball cup.

gabbaglasses

Then we arrived at our destination.
They even handed everyone out glasses just like Dj Lance's.

gabba1

The Yo Gabba Gabba Live Show!

bizmarkie

We were excited to see that Biz Markie was part of the show too! We weren't sure if he'd be there in person. He's pretty funny.

To sum it all up: Yo Gabba Gabba Tickets for 4 People: $201.44. Lunch after a 2 hour drive: $44.00. Stuffed animals at the venue: $45. Food at intermission: $15.75. The looks on both Sean & Mackenzie's faces when Yo Gabba Gabba live came out on stage: PRICELESS.

Today's Random Thoughts:
- I did find a dress for the wedding I have in October. I think I would have much preferred this one, ankle length and less busy, but I can't seem to find it in Canada, Old Navy's Canadian website won't ship to Canada, and the closest US Old Navy to me, doesn't have maternity. At least the one I got was 30% off, and came to under 20$. I really didn't want to have to buy a dress for one time, especially since this is my last pregnancy, but for under 20$, I'm not going to complain.
- One of my blog readers suggested I get Knit Two on Audio book with my credit. Hmm, didn't think of that. Too bad reading the review of it, ruined the ending of the first book, which I still have about a third of it left to listen to. The reviews though were either "loved it" or "was extremely disappointed". Hmmm. Wondering - do I take the chance and get it - since it's free? And it seems like everything else people are recommending I either have the book or have read it already? Not sure what to do. Has anyone else read Knit Two? Any good?
- I got the energy to bake when I got home so I made some Zucchini bread with a huge zucchini Jamie got from the garden recently. I added in some chocolate chips and it came out delicious!

09.18.10 :: 5 years // 26 weeks pregnant

wedday

5 years ago today I married the love of my life.
Five years, 2.5 kids, things couldn't be better.

26wkspgBoy

Today I'm 26 weeks pregnant. I'm so close to being in my 3rd trimester officially. Though, because I am not going to give birth past 37 weeks, I kinda feel like I'm already in the last stretch. With only 11 weeks to go - I have to start organizing the nursery... it's crunch time! Too bad it takes me forever to do things because a) being very pregnant, b) not being able to bend, c) not being able to lift and d) being tired on top of it. Things just take forever for me lately.

babybumplookdown
And... I officially cannot see my feet when I'm standing straight.

walk2day

This afternoon we took advantage of the gorgeous September weather and took a walk.

Seanpop

The kids wanted some candies so we stop at the convenience store.
Sean picked out the coolest lollypops for him & Mack.

mackpop
What a sticky mess it made.

macklemon

After our walk, we headed out for lunch to a local place I usually love. Today - not so much. The service was understaffed, my salad came with unwashed lettuce and we felt like we were rushed by the staff. Not fun today. Above is a picture after Mackenzie tried a lemon slice off my drink. Love the face.

The kids were supposed to go to my parents house tonight to sleep over and unfortunately my mother came down with tonsillitis, so our anniversary dinner plans got spoiled unfortunately. Jamie went out to get dinner and we ate at home. After the cranky kids (no naps today) went to bed, we watched She's Out of My League, which was really cute. I started a new knitting project while watching it - as I kind of need a tiny break from my sample knit, which is coming along as well. Details on my new project coming up shortly.

For those of you whom collect Huggies' Enjoy The Ride Rewards points, I have a few more codes for you: HUGGIES FREE CODES: BGGCLHNZGFZZPGB - 5 PTS and BFMJCPNQCJBNPGB - 5 PTS. Use any of these 3 codes to double your points :: Offer code: 76320755, 96739416 and 89217100 (You will see the field to ender the offer code only when you enter store bought item codes). This does not apply to the freebie codes. Seems like you can use the offer codes about 5 or 6 times each and then it won't let you anymore. I have only found these 3 codes so far. 09.17.10 :: 27 months old

27mosM

Mack is 27 months old today.

mackpuckerup

I was looking back at old photos recently. Looking at newborn photos of both Sean & Mack. I came across this one. Mack since birth has been notorious for the faces he makes with his lips. Still does to this day, 27 months later. Mack must be a week or two old here. Lips puckered. That's so Mack.

99daysleft99 days left until my official due date on Christmas Day. Give or take 78 days left until he's actually born. (As they won't let me go past 37 weeks). I can't believe it's under three digits for the amount of days left. Crazy how time flies.

newwallet

Yesterday while I was out I picked up these 2 really neat wallets. The last two I had picked up, the black fairy one got rubbed out and the Russian Doll one, I am using now, ripped inside. I've been meaning to get some new ones (the last 2 were from CAA), but while out yesterday, I found these 2 (And it was buy one get one half off). They're not the same brand as the ones I got at CAA, but I'll give them a try. I'm about to transfer all my cards to the owl one, isn't it adorable? I love funky stuff like this.

My new printer arrived today while I was in the office. So happy to finally have it back. I seriously felt lost without it. Not being able to print knitting patterns, sewing tutorials, recipes or directions.

Random Thoughts For Today:
- This week I found 5$ in the dryer in the kid's load. My kids are rich, what do you know!?
- I had a dream the other night that baby 3 was born 10 lbs 10 oz. That's exactly double Sean's birth weight (5 lbs 5 oz at born at 38 weeks - so completely full term). So far I've had 2 small babies (Mack was 6 lbs 4 oz born at 37 weeks). We keep saying that this baby will be the largest of them all.. but 10 lbs 10 oz? That's a bit large. Hopefully he's not that big - and if he is... thankfully I'm having a C-section?!
- Sean told his teachers today that I'm having twins. He completely misunderstood. We were talking and I had told him earlier on this week that he will have 2 brothers. Meaning Mackenzie and baby 3. He took it that I was having twins, and told all the teachers in the daycare. I almost had a heart attack when I picked up the kids today from daycare and all the teachers were congratulating me on twins. What!? KIDS!
- Tomorrow's my 5th wedding anniversary with Jamie. My parents are taking the kids overnight and we're going out for dinner to our fave restaurant. Ahh, bliss.
- Still have that one credit for an audio book. Not sure what to get with it. I have not too much left in the audio book I am currently listening to (The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs) so I hope to find something soon. If not, I do have both the Harry Potter collection and the Twilight Series as Audio books. Not sure when my credit expires - if it does.

09.16.10 :: 117 weeks old

117weeksM

Mack is 117 weeks old today.

beforehairdo

Yesterday I decided I had enough with my hair. I had just blow dried it straight. My last time blow drying it straight this long. It was indeed time for a change. A much needed change. My hair was starting to feel heavy. I was throwing it into a bun or pony tail a lot because I really just don't have the time to do stuff with it. In the mornings, forget about it - trying to get the 2 boys out the door is a challenge in itself. The evenings? Forget about it - I'm wiped these days. And I'm sure my time will be even less when Baby 3 is born. Time? What's time?
newdo1

So I went to go see my sister's friend Kristin (whom everyone I know goes to as well), and showed her a few ways my hair has been short in the past, showed her a cute image I found online of a recent trendy short hair style, and then told her I trusted her to do what she thought would look best on me and my shape face, etc.

newdo

I really love how it came out. It needs some time to grow on me though. I totally thought Jamie would be surprised (I didn't tell him I was going for a haircut), but he saw it and actually said he liked it, and wasn't surprised as it wasn't the first time I've chopped my hair off while pregnant.

I feel freer. My hair was getting thick and it really was weighing me down. Now for the real test, to see if I can do my hair just as nicely as the hairdresser did, when I style it next after my next shower. Or even blow dry it just as nicely as she did. I'm sure my hair will actually blow dry a lot quicker these days.

I received another free credit for an audio book. What do you suggest I get? I'm stuck for ideas. I do still have a bunch of books to read (hardcover or paperback) but I can't do that while driving to work, so I've been really into listening to audio books on the 30 minute drive to work and the 30 minute drive home from work. Any good suggestions?

09.15.10

pumps2010

It's that time of the year again. I heart fall.

boywashcloth

I absolutely love baby boy items.
Some new baby wash cloths for baby boy #3.

Got a phone call from my doctor today that in my work-up they found some blood in my urine. So far I haven't actually seen any blood at all. I was told to be extra careful now and at the first sight of any blood to call right away (or if they're closed to go straight to the hospital). Oy, another thing to worry about. Does it ever end? I have been extremely careful and have been really limiting myself to only doing what I absolutely have to do while on my feet. It's so difficult let me tell you.

My laundry is piling up, the house is a bit of a mess. Definitely looks like two toddlers live here. My email inbox is out of control again. The kids toys are everywhere. I have gifts to wrap (and some to mail). I have things to scan and pictures to edit. I have a baby room to organize. I have Sean's 4th birthday party to finish organizing (before his brother is born). The list never ends. Some stuff I can't even do. Thankfully we have a cleaning lady coming tomorrow. She'll tidy the house, one less thing for me to worry about. Ahhh, I feel a little bit better. Maybe now I can get to the knitting waiting to be done & the books waiting to be read. And the things waiting to be sewn. My hair needs a trim. My feet need a pedicure (since I can no longer bend to reach them - thankfully I can still see them).

09.14.10

seancoloratwork
Today Sean was home with me again. Though, I brought him to the office with me. His cut is almost all healed up, so I'm sending him to daycare tomorrow.

seanhelpwork

He did help my store manager a lot. He was a very good assistant.
I was told to bring him back anytime. We'll see about that.

fullwrap

Tonight I made a nursing wrap from this Tutorial.
Took me about 2 hours to make it.
I just love the fabric too.

boningwork

It was my first time working with boning.
Basically the boning was inserted so that I can see the baby nursing.
Genius idea.

terrycloth

There is even terry cloth to wipe up the baby's mouth, which doubles as a pocket for nursing pads while nursing your baby. Great design. Love it.

Today's Link Love:

- This phrase.
- This neat tutorial for sewn coasters.
- This photo.
- This ring.
- This photo too.
- These awesome onesies.
- This onesie too.
- Old Navy Halloween Costumes are awesome. The boys have 2 costumes this year, one for their daycare party, and one for Halloween night. Stay tuned to see what they'll be! Last year to daycare they were a tiger & lion and on Halloween night they were matching Spiders. This year to each, they'll match, so there is no fighting/arguing.

09.13.10 :: 193 weeks old

193wksS

Sean is 193 weeks old today.

costcoicecream
Sean got to stay home today from school. He has something near his mouth (you'd never know - gotta love photoshop!) that I wanted to have looked at. Wasn't sure if it was a cold sore or something worse. Turns out (after an appointment a a children's clinic that I am not very fond of - we even had to wait over an hour and 20 minutes with an actual appointment time) that it's just a cut that he must have had a scab or something, he scratched it open, it got infected so it turned red and icky. He has a cream to put on it 3x a day for the next 10 days (or until it goes away). I'm supposed to keep him home for about 48 hours only because of how rough other kids in daycare are, especially 4 year old boys. The only way someone else can catch the infection in his cut is if they touch his open wound with an open wound on their own body. Sean's certainly not complaining hanging out with mommy. It involved chocolate ice cream today (vanilla for me).

jamievaderwebsize

Jamie had gone this weekend to Comic-Con with Sean.
I just love this picture.
Totally wish I could have been there.
For the picture opportunities & people watching.

I've been chugging away at my sample knit - the Loopy Lace Scarf. I feel like it's taking forever... I've got 6" of the 23" in the middle done. Just want this one to be over with already... I want to move onto other knits in queue...

09.12.10

eaglesboys
Today was Football Sunday. First Eagles game of the season. All my boys were decked out in their Eagles gear. (This photo is for you Lauren!) Today was a really relaxing day, slept in late, hung out around the house (I did do a lot of laundry though). I even organized my shirt drawer. I have a pile of maternity shirts that I just don't like to get rid of, so that helps in the de-cluttering department. I've been really good with trying to get things organized lately. Though the to-do list is never ending, that's for sure.

greenloopy
I've been working on the sample knit. Here's the current progress. I am not sure how I am liking this pattern in this yarn, but I didn't choose either, so I'll finish it up and that'll be that. Move on next.

I keep getting inspired by like... everything on Ravelry. I have so many things I want to make. Especially for the new baby. And Sean & Mack too. And myself. And for this, and for that. Time... that's the issue. Even on modified rest there is still a lot to do.

I leave you tonight with this song. I have it stuck in my head. I actually really like this chick's voice. My boys love the episode this song is on, so we watch it a lot around here:

09.11.10 :: 25 weeks pregnant

911
9/11. We will never forget.
I took a moment of silence today to think about all the people who died 9 years ago today.

25wkspg

25 weeks pregnant today. 3 more weeks until I hit 3rd trimester. However, since I only have 12 more weeks to go until they'll deliver me, I kind of feel that I'm already in the last trimester home stretch.

melrobbabybellies

This afternoon I had a baby shower to attend for Jamie's cousin. She's due Oct 24th. She's also having a boy, and we're very excited to have cousins close in age.

babybelliesMelRob
I had a great time at the shower, she loved all her gifts, and the food was delicious. It ran all afternoon and then some of the family was going back to my step-sister-in-law's house for dinner, but after eating food all afternoon, I opted to just go home and hang with my boys.

huggiesonsale
Yesterday's score at Costco. Huggies Diapers were on sale (though not advertised as a sale) in Sizes 3, 4, 5, & 6 for 25.59$ a box. (They're usually 48.99$ a box). The employee I asked at Costco had no idea why the size 1-2's weren't on sale. The size 1-2's are 39.99$ regular priced for 228 diapers at Costco. I still have time to wait for them to go on sale before baby 3 is born. I did buy 3 boxes of size 5's, as Mack's still in that size, and 3 boxes of size 3 and 2 boxes of size 4's to store for baby 3. At that price, I couldn't pass it up, since I know we'll for sure be using plenty of those, and not just what I bought above. Oh, was I happy to have a mini van and space to bring these home. Had I been in my old Acura EL - there is no way I'd have fit those (and the 2 kids and my mom whom was with me) in the car.

If Mack ends up in Pull-ups soon, I'll just store the size 5's for baby 3. Eventually they'll get used. I learned that Mack asked twice to use the potty while at my parents house today, and actually went to the potty. I am so proud of him. They babysat him while I was at the shower and Sean went with Jamie to Comic-Con here in Montreal. (Sean had a blast at Comic Con but refused to wear a costume).

Speaking of Huggies, I have a few more free Enjoy The Ride Rewards for you to add to your account:

BJKNGQJRMBQRPGB - 5 pts
BJNZKHMLTMXDPGB - 5 pts

Tonight Jamie and I chilled and watched a couple of episodes of Season 2 of The Wire. We haven't watched that in a while, and will probably lose time on stuff like that now that TV season is starting in a week or two. I worked more on the sample knit I am working on, and will take progress photos tomorrow.

09.10.10

cousinsrush
Picture from last night :: We tried to get all 4 cousins (yes, all boys!) to stay next to each other for a picture, but unfortunately, it just didn't work out that way. Maybe by next even we're all together we'll be able to get them all to look at the camera & stay put. Not sure what the next family shindig is - but I might have another boy to add to the cousins photo.

Both boys stayed home today from daycare. Mack has a bit of a head cold (no fever though) and well there was no convincing Sean to go to school since Mack was home. My mom was a great help this morning and came to help me give the boys a bath (since I can't bend into the tub to bathe them) and later on after lunch she came with me to run an errand with the boys. It was a leisure day hanging out with my boys. By 5pm I was exhausted though. I enjoyed the late afternoon cartoons cuddling on the couch with both kids.

I've got yet another free 20 point code for Pampers Gifts to Grow or for .com as well: GIFTS2GROWBONUS

Today’s Link Love:
- This girl is too freakin’ cute.
- I am a HUGE elephant lover. I love this silver pendant, and of course the matching earrings.
- These glasses pendant is wicked neat. I actually have it in black, I love wearing that necklace! This Gummy Bear Kissing Necklace is just too cute.
- These Rose Garden Mary Jane booties.
- Love this funky necklace.
- Watched I Love You, Man tonight, what a cute movie. It was just the kind of romantic comedy I needed. I'm a huge Paul Rudd fan as well as Jason Segel.

I've made some progress on my de-clutter blog. My recent progress is posted here. I've finally hit the 300+ mark. I told you I hadn't forgotten about it. Just have been wicked busy lately, even on "modified activity". There's always still things to do - even while resting. And so much I can still get done while off my feet. I even can now see my desk again! Up until today it was hidden by mess.

Off to go read a bit more in the book I'm currently reading. It's pretty good so far. I do have a review of the other book coming you're way possibly over the weekend. I'm in the middle of organizing my thoughts so I can put together a proper review. Stay tuned.

09.09.10 :: 116 weeks old

116wksoldM

Mack is 116 weeks old today.

happynewyear

Tonight we had Rosh Hashanah dinner at my Aunt's house. I never go empty handed to someone's house - so last night & tonight I brought this little gift to each place and it was a huge hit. It's a party pick holder with party picks. In the Jewish New Year, it's tradition to have apples & honey to ring in a sweet new year. So I thought this would be super cute to use to pick the apples to put them on your dinner plate. I like finding themed gifts.

mackiespoonface

Mack discovered tonight (on his own I might add) that he can stick a spoon on his nose and balance it. He had a lot of us laughing so hard last night - it was way too funny. He's got a bit of a head cold, (runny eyes, not crying though, a runny nose, and his eyes are puffy, no fever though). I think he's going to stay home tomorrow from daycare, which means Mr. Sean is going to want to stay home. I for see it being a long day!?

Rosh Hashanah dinner was good - feeling stuffed though from all the wonderful dishes.

Today’s Link Love:
- Love this bias skirt. Hope someone who has a girl will make it!
- These crochet watermelon baby booties.
- These kimono crochet baby booties.
- These Men's Oxford Loafers, though, Jamie would never wear them, unfortunately.
- Oh, and these lady kimono crochet slippers. Cute!
- These cat nip toys are way too funny.
- Too bad my husband isn't into funky ties, I love this vintage camera one. Oh and this zipper one too!
- I already have a small Seatbelt bag, in black, but I love this messenger style one.
- This little owl pillow is just too darn cute!
- I love this lady silhouette journal.
- Love these Knitting Nerd decals. I still have some left to sell - if you are interested in any - please message me they are 5$ each. I have Knitting Nerd, Knit Girl, Crochet Geek all in white & black.

Coming up:
- Review on Two Years, No Rain.
- Update on my de-clutter process (I have not forgotten!)
- Giveway for you to win a copy of Jessica Z.

09.08.10

rhodapkg
I have wonderful friends.
I got the most awesome birthday package today in the mail from Rhoda.
I got 2 skeins of Knitpicks Stroll (which was on my wishlist).
Green is Springtime & pink is Queen Anne.
She sent some stickers for the boys.
Some cable extenders for my options set.
And a neat tape measure to add to my collection.
As well as some book suggestions by age for children (love the lists!)

boysclothes
Each boy got some clothes too!
Baby boy got the cutest sleeper. I can't believe how tiny! I miss that size.
Sean got a dino long sleeve tshirt. (He loves it!)
And Mackie got a fireman tshirt. (He loves his too!)

citron
And I cannot believe my eyes. Rhoda knit me a Citron. Non-Ravelry Link. I LOVE IT! Curious what yarn she used. Rhoda!? What yarn is that!? It's super soft.

citronfromrhoda
Already wore it today. Matched what I was wearing!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! LOVE EVERYTHING!

cutiepatotie
Tonight we headed to my in-laws for Rosh Hashanah dinner. It's the Jewish New Year.

seancoolsunglasses
mackzhelmet
Mackie decided he had to wear his helmet.
Luckily we got him to take it off by dinner time.
But come on, he's just too cute in it...

seanmackjamiecouz
The boys had fun seeing their cousin, and the rest of the family. The food was delicious as always. I love holiday food. So yummy! Especially when it's home cooked. I don't last long on my feet these days, and I'm not supposed to be standing for long anyhow, so I'm kinda glad this year the holidays aren't at my house. Next year. When baby boy is 9/10 months old, Sean will be almost 5 (gasp!) and would probably be a huge help in the kitchen, then I can cook for everyone, just not unfortunately this year. This year, it's nice to be able to sit back & enjoy the food & everyone's company.

שנה טובה ומתוקה

Today's Love:
- Sean can count backwards from 10-0. Love that he wants to tell everyone he sees!
- Sean knows his left from his right. Smart kid!
- Love that Mack has gotten to be very outspoken with how he's feeling.
- Love that at age 2 and 3 and a half, they don't know how to lie, so when they get roudy and someone hurts the other, they're honest about what happened.
- Love that Sean can now write the letter D. (Amongst a few other letters). He can also spell his name (for a while now!)
- Love that I'm surprising the boys with Yo Gabba Gabba Live tickets shortly. They're going to FLIP! I'm not telling them until we walk into the show. We missed the Montreal show this past weekend, (I had no idea they were in town), so we're taking a small road trip to see them (don't worry I'm not going alone with them, I can't because of the praevia). Should be fun! We're also going to see The Wiggles later this year, but Sean knows already. Though, he's probably TOTALLY forgotten about that now. I can't wait to see their reaction.

... Ah, they're getting too big too fast. Can I freeze time?
